Rae groaned when Alex opened the coffin lid, pouting playfuly. She stretched out, and made a mental note to ask Alex for a shoulder rub later. Her body was still getting used to the changes.

She sighed as she got up, and went to stand beside Alex in the kitchen. "I don't have any of my clothes here today, love." She whispered, reaching around him to take a strawberry from the box. Rae bit half, and offered the other half to Alex. "Think you could find me something to wear? It's going to be cold. I'm not sure if that matters to vampires or not, but..." Rae trailed off, and drew circles on the table with her finger.

"Alex I...I just want you to be prepared for what you're going to see. I didn't have...the best childhood."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:54 pm

Alex smiled and took the half of the strawberry from her with his fangs. He chuckled when she asked about the clothes, downing the rest of the strawberry pinned to his fangs. He snapped his fingers and conjured a practical outfit for her. A close fitting black tank-top, a pair of jeans, and a military style jacket.. He handed them to her and stretched slightly and smiled, saying, "Well, the cold doesn't particularly matter, but some vampires are still bothered by it. It's a matter of personal preference... Rae, I know you didn't, and I want this to be over and done with as quickly as possible so you don't have to think about that anymore. But I will say this; vampires have a long time to live, and sometimes we can't help but look back at the past." He smiled and ran a hand through her hair, he didn't want her to dwell on the past when so much time extended out in front of them. He snapped his fingers once again and her weapon, in it's holster appeared in his hand. He looked down at the holster and the weapon within it and said, "This weapon is especially dangerous for you to use now. The silver in the blade could seriously hurt you. Be careful." He handed the blade to her as he waited for her to get ready and tell him where they needed to go.

Rae pulled her hair out from underneath the jacket, letting it fall over her shoulders and down her back in natural waves. She took her hunting knife from him and holstered it carefully.

Rae took a deep breath. "I lived on the lower east side. Culver street, 106, appartment number 32. Mom didn't make it to the hospital...." Rae looked away from Alex, her eyes unfocused as she faced the wall. She had grown up in the worst part of town, overrun with drug dealers, gangs and whores. It was impossible to walk down the street and see someone who either wasn't scarred, or wasn't sporting some kind of injury. Everyone who was smart carried a weapon, and only those with a death wish went out after dark. All of the buildings were crumbling, and each and every fence was topped with razor wire.

"Teleport us there?" She asked, her voice strained as Alex's hand went around her waist. Rae closed her eyes, and didn't open them even after she knew they had arrived safely. She didn't need to open her eyes - she could smell it. The apartment she'd called home so long ago, with it's stink of urine, smoke and decay. The stained paint was still peeling off the walls, the floors still stained, with Lord only knew what, and Rae didn't want to know either. The marred windows let in little light in the day time, and made the apartment pitch black at night. Unfortunately, Rae's new eyesight didn't spare her the sight of the place she had once called home.

The apartment was literally falling apart, and the landlord had done nothing to fix it. But that didn't surprise Rae, when she was a child he used to come to the apartment and pay Daddy for playtime with Mommy. Rae shuddered as tears sprang to her eyes. She mentally shoved the thoughts away, and turned to face Alex. "Let's just get the soil and be gone." Rae hugged herself, silently begging Alex with her eyes to make this go as quickly as possible. Being here made her miserable, and she wanted to go back to Alex's warm and happy apartment and be with the man she loved someplace where she felt safe and secure.
PostPosted: Fri Dec 17, 2010 11:57 am

Alex sighed and wrapped his arm around Rae when she told him where to go. He teleported them to their destination and instantly regretted it. The apartment was disgusting to say the least, the smell offended Alex's sensitive nose and he had to concentrate very hard to keep from vomiting when the other scents in the building hit his nose. He could see why Rae didn't like it here one bit. He nodded in acknowledgment to Rae's comment, luckily, he didn't have to breathe. He looked around the dingy hovel of an apartment and thought to Rae, "Show me where you were actually physically born."

He looked around the apartment as Rae led him to the room where she was born. When she pointed the spot out to him, he knelt down and peeled back the floorboards, revealing the soil underneath. Alex scooped some of it up and poured it into a small pouch he held. Sighing, he took one last look at the terrible place before teleporting them back to his apartment right next to his coffin. He handed Rae the pouch and sighed, saying, "Now... we need to find you a coffin. Be aware, that you can put your soil in any coffin and make it yours, but the one that will have the most effect on healing powers and keeping your strength up, is the first one you choose. So choose wisely." He gestured towards his own coffin, an old style shape, with black wood finish and delicately carved designs, yet of a larger size, so it could in fact fit two people inside. He smiled at her and said, "I wouldn't mind sharing my coffin with you, if that is what you wish."

Rae watched as Alex grabbed a pinch of dirt from beneath the floor boards, and turned into him when they teleported. She breathed a sigh of relief as the familiar smell of Alex's apartment reached her nose. Smiling happily and glad that ordeal was over, Rae went to stand with Alex beside his coffin.

"If it won't hinder your healing abilities any, love, I'd rather share your coffin." She smiled as she slid her arms around him and kissed him tenderly.

"Is there some sort of ritual involved? Anything I need to know?" Rae let an exasperated sigh escape her. "Alex, there's just so much I don't know...Plesae, teach me something. I want to get everything right, for you."
PostPosted: Fri Dec 17, 2010 8:04 pm

Alex smiled and kissed her back, reaching down and sliding open his coffin lid. He sighed and said, "It won't affect me at all, so of course we can share." He nodded when she asked if there was a ritual needed, saying, "What you need to do, is take some of the soil we got, and place it inside the inner lining of the coffin. Just cut open the lining, dump some in there, and say the words, 'I choose this coffin as my eternal and final resting place, here I am born, here I die, and here I live again.'" He smiled and ran a hand through her hair, stepping back and letting her start the ritual on her own, unable to interfere. He watched as she started the ritual, standing in the doorway, while thinking to her, "I'm sure you will learn everything you can, and you'll live up to your potential. Once this is done, I'll teach you how to phase through objects." Smiling, he reached into his coat and pulled out a packet of blood, drinking from it, while watching Rae's movements intently.

Rae pinched a little of the soil from Alex's outstretched hand, and made a slit in the lining of the coffin with the other. As she placed the dirt inside the lining, she repeated softly, 'I choose this coffin as my eternal and final resting place, here I am born, here I die, and here I live again.' Rae then closed the lining, a smile on her face as she turned from the coffin to smile at Alex, stepping into his embrace.

"I can't think of a better place to spend eternity - every night with you by my side, and every day in your arms." Rae went up on her toes to kiss his jaw. "Phasing huh? That sounds....potentially dangerous." Rae's eyes lit with the challenge. "When can we start?"

In her excitement over learning something new and seeing Alex drink from the baggy of blood, Rae's thrist kicked in again. She playfully bit Alex, then licked a stray drop of blood from his neck as the holes from her teeth closed. "May I have one of those?" She asked, indicating the baggy.

Alex smiled and wrapped his arms around her. He sighed at her excitement, and said, "We can start whenever you're ready, and yeah, it can be potentially dangerous. Getting stuck halfway through a wall isn't fun." Chuckling when she bit him, he reached inside his coat and handed her another blood pack. He removed his arms from her and smiled, staring into her emerald eyes with his own hint of excitement in his ruby ones. He turned and knocked on the wall next to the door frame, testing it. Looking around on the other side of the wall, he saw there was nothing placed in the spot where she would come out. He turned to her and said, happily, "Okay, this wall will do. I want you to place both of your hands on the wall, and concentrate ion the fact that the wall ISN'T there, while pressing on the wall lightly, as though you're opening a door without a handle. Like so." Alex demonstrated level 1 phasing, as he did exactly as he described and walked slowly through the wall. He walked back around and smiled at her, continuing, "If you get good enough at it, and I'm sure you will, you'll be able to phase through things like I can, without even thinking about it." He walked through the wall without any effort other than simply walking. He returned to his spot in the door frame, watching her and gesturing with one hand for her to try.

Rae grinned back and drank the blood pack. Her emerald eyes sparkled with excitement. "Let's do it!"

She watched and listened carefully as Alex demonstrated. Rae smiled back as Alex came back to stand beside her. She took a deep breath and stood infront of the wall. Rae put her right hand up, an inch away from the wall and closed her eyes. She concentrated on clearing her mind, and then imagined the room on the other side of the wall. Carefully, she extended her hand out - right through the wall.

Rae panicked for a half second, her arm inside the wall with her hand in the other room, but she managed to focus and pull her hand back out. Rae turned back to Alex grinning, and walked through the wall. From the next room, Rae let out a triumphant yell. She ran back to Alex through the doorway and threw her arms around him, kissing him happily. "I did it!" she laughed, kissing him again.

Alex watched as Rae tried to use her powers, smiling when one of her hands went through the wall. He was about to say something when she managed to make it all the way through the wall. Blinking in surprise, Alex smiled and kissed Rae when she wrapped her arms around him. He looked at her and said, "Very good. It takes most noble vampires around twenty tries to manage that easily. You have more potential in one finger than most have in their whole body... I knew you were special, from the moment I laid eyes on you..." He smiled and kissed her again, fangs poking her lower lip lightly, but not enough to draw blood. He released her from the kiss and sighed, saying, "Okay, a few more tries at phasing completely through the wall and then we'll try conjuring small objects."

Alex watched intently as she continued to practice phasing, giving advice and congratulations where necessary. When he decided Rae had perfected her phasing as best she could for the moment, he snapped his fingers and conjured another blood-pack, handing it to Rae and saying, "Now, conjuring is a bit more difficult than phasing. What you need to do, is know what object you're conjuring, and picture it in your mind. Once you have a clear picture of it, you need to visualize the objects position in it's surroundings. You're basically creating a mental photograph of the object you want. Once you have that clear image of the object and its surroundings, you need to picture yourself picking the object up. With enough practice, you should be able to do it easily." Alex snapped his fingers and conjured a brick into his hand, setting it on the nearby table and turning back to Rae, saying, "Two things, one; you need a way to trigger the conjuring, I snap my fingers, I know a guy who taps his foot. What ever works, do it, I'm at the point where I don't even need to snap my fingers, but I've got 400 years of practice under my belt. Second, you have to be very careful about conjuring objects, as there can be... mishaps... I've seen someone try and conjure a living thing... not pretty if you aren't absolutely sure it'll work. Try conjuring the brick; just look at it, then try and go through the steps I told you." Alex stepped back and watched, waiting to see how well Rae could do.

Rae drank the blood pack and listened, nodding along. When she finished the pack, she handed it back to Alex and took a few steps back from him.

She took a few seconds to memorize everything on Alex's beside table, including the brick she was going to try to conjure. Rae took a deep breath, focused on the picture in her mind, held out her hand, and blinked. Rae pouted a little when it didn't work the first time, but stiffened her resolve and tried again.

After about five more tries, Rae could get the brick to disappear, but couldn't get it to reappear in her hand, it always showed up again in the place where it had started. Rae was frustrated, and decided to try something instead of a blink. "I want the movement to be something someone watching wouldn't consider odd...." she explained to Alex over their mind link. Rae thought for a few moments, fingering her necklace when an idea came to her.

Leaving her hand on the necklace Alex had given her, Rae extended her left hand and concentrated on her mental picture of the brick on the table, then the brick in her hand. She tried it twice before it worked. Rae nearly dropped the brick, she was so surprised. After a slight fumble, she saved it from dropping on her foot, and laughed. "Oh my god I did it!" She turned to Alex and again threw her arms around him, her eyes shining again.

Rae fell backwards, pulling him into the coffin on top of her. "I'm exhausted" she said into his throat, inhaling the smell of him, "And so thristy...." Rae gave him a half second warning of what she was about to do before she bit into his neck and drank from him greedily.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 19, 2010 2:08 pm

Alex smiled as he watched Rae test her powers. He grinned when she managed to conjure the brick, and grinned even wider when she pulled him into the coffin and bit him. As she drained him, he sighed and continued with his lesson, rather distracted, "I'm very proud of you. Now, using your powers at this early stage drains your energy greatly, you'll have to practice for a while before you can use them as much and as easily as I can. We'll practice teleporting once you've gotten phasing and conjuring down." He smiled and leaned over her neck, biting her and draining her blood. After a few minutes of this, Alex brought his face away, covered in blood he licked his lips and said, "As much as I hate to do this... we really should get on that assignment." Alex floated back up to his feet and wiped the blood from his face, licking his fingers as he did and thinking, "Delicious... unbelievably amazing taste... It's a wonder I never noticed it before... He sighed and extended a hand to her and asking, "Ready? I'm interested in seeing how you perform now that you're a vampire." Alex was mostly telling the truth, but he was actually worried, he wasn't sure how Rae would do. He knew she was a good fighter, and could handle anything that came her way, and now she had the strength of ten men, and the speed to match, but something just made Alex worry about her.

Alex teleported them to an old warehouse, supposedly the site where their informant was being held. He would be well guarded and the guards would probably be expecting them. Alex approached the door and slowly opened it. Walking quietly into the cavernous warehouse, he made no noise at all. He looked around for their target and spotted him in the center of the room, under a spotlight, with a few guards around him. Alex sighed silently and thought to Rae, "It's a trap, they know we're coming. They've got weapons that can hurt us too, smells like silver based. Be careful, I'm heading up into the rafters to shut off their lights, when they go out, then you can strike. Good luck..." Alex receded from her mind, leaving the mental equivalent of a kiss behind as he teleported into the rafters.

Rae watched the men in the room carefully, looking for weak spots, pinpointing those who smelt of fear as she waited for Alex to hit the lights. She was delighted to find she could see, and even more delighted when she moved without sound towards the group.

Rae couldn't help it, a light laugh escaped her, seemingly an erie, disembodied voice of a ghost. A few of the frightened men panicked and broke formation, and Rae picked them off one by one, dragging their bodies off to the side of the room.

"Don't break formation! The female is taunting us, trying to draw our attention from the male. Harpy b***h!" one of the men screamed. Rae was rather offended. "Harpy b***h..." she thought to Alex "That's a new one." Rae barred her fangs and snarled, laughing again as she reached for the man closest to her, snapped his neck in one quick movement, and let him fall to the floor beside his comrades. She was already on the other side of the room before the bullets started flying.

She knew Alex would be safe in the rafters, the leader already shouting for the men not to waste their ammo. Rae moved again, shattering one man's knee cap and breaking his arm on her way past, wrenching his gun from him and splitting it in two. Rae retreated to safety behind a pillar. "What now, boss?" she thought to Alex.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 20, 2010 6:40 am

Alex watched with a slightly depraved smile on his face as Rae tore the guards apart. She was good before, now she was downright amazing; he enjoyed watching her fight like this, watching her kill their opposition with ease. He growled angrily when one of them insulted her, no one was going to insult her while he was around. He found the one who said it, teleported behind him and brought him back up into the rafters. Holding him out by the neck Alex growled at the man, quietly, yet with pure rage, "You're going to insult her? YOU'RE going to insult HER? No one insults her, not now, not ever. I hope you're ready, because once I'm finished with you, you're going to wish you were dead." Alex brought the struggling back n towards him and grinned, his fangs extending, he leaned in towards the man and bit him, now holding him up by his neck with his teeth. The man twitched and stopped struggling, all the blood running down him and hitting the floor below with loud splashing noises; Alex wasn't going to defile his mouth with the blood of this maggot. One of the guards looked up and got hit in the face with a large amount of blood, he immediately started screaming. The guard aimed up at where Alex was and fired, missing Alex and hitting the man held by his teeth. One bullet made of silver passed through the man and hit Alex in the arm, Alex roared and released his teeth. The entire warehouse echoed with Alex's angered scream, and was accented with the loud thud of a body.

The guards in the warehouse went pale at the sound, even the boss went pale and stopped issuing orders. Alex stopped and pulled the bullet out of his arm with a grunt, he started chuckling, which got louder and louder and louder until it resembled an insane cackle. As he laughed, Alex opened a mind link to Rae and thought, "What now? Well, we kill them of course. All of them." Alex teleported to behind gt he boss, with a whisper said, "Surprise." And snapped the man's neck before moving on to the two guards nearby. All while doing this, Alex had the same depraved smile on his face, and his eyes burned red, glowing in the darkness like rubies with lights shining in them, his pupils had dilated to snake-like slits. Alex was literally ripping the guards apart with his bare hands, with absolutely no regard for anything, he was barely conscious of his surroundings, drowning himself in the bloodshed.

Rae smiled as Alex rained hell upon the guards. "He really does love me..." she thought as she squared off against another one of the guards. He rushed her, running at her at full speed - but Rae had the advantage. In the darkness, the human could only see the vague outline of her. At the last minute she side stepped him, reaching a hand out as she literally tore the mans still beating heart from his chest.

She considered eating it - fro a brief second. Her vampiric instincts insisting that because she killed it, she had a right to eat it, but she remembered Alex saying that they were not to drink from humans, and Rae would never do anything Alex expressly told her not to. She tossed the heart aside and watched as Alex proceeded to tear the other guards apart.

Rae was really rather enjoying the scene before her. Alex was a master in battle, and all those who stood before him rarely stood for much longer. There were barely any of the original men left. Half of her mind was on the battle, while the other half was considering the possiblity of Rae experiencing the other thing he was a master at....when Alex was shot. Rae's mind focused on that fact with a singleminded recklessness that would've left Alex proud.

"He shot Alex. HE SHOT ALEX." Rae's mind screamed at her, and then she was screaming too, snarling as her fangs descended, she withdrew her knife, which was actually more of a machete. Being careful not to touch the blade, Rae advanced upon the guard who had shot at Alex. The guard in question could see well enough to know that the female vamp was advancing upon him with a blade raised, so he took out his gun and began firing at her. Rae moved with blinding speed, her blade flashing in the near darkness, the bullets pinging off and flying in different directions. Where she could, she would redirect the bullets into a few of the remaining guards, being careful to avoid Alex at all costs.

Rae's attention was distracted for a half second while a guard advanced behind Alex, and felt something graze her stomach. Pain immediately shot through her body and she screamed again, before cutting the guards head clean off his shoulders. "You rat b*****d." she said to the guards head as it rolled away, her hands pressing against the wound, blood seeping between her fingers as she fell to her knees.
