Aruna glanced at her brother. "Are you well, brother? You're clenching your teeth," Aruna asked, concerned. "Rahu is one of a kind. There is... Wyvern... I haven't seen him since that one time..." Aruna turned away from the stream, killing her temptation. She frowned. "That is strange. I hadn't thought of that Kalona until now." She turned to her brother. "Have you met anyone new, brother? I've met... quite a few. I even managed to meet a Wind Soquili, though that was when I was younger. She is probably grown now... she was amazing..." Aruna murmured, more to herself than her brother, but now she was concerned. "What's the matter? Did you do something you're angry about?"

As Aruna showed that she was concerned for Bairn, he sighed, wishing that the water was never there. He didn't want her to see him at his weakest. "Yes, I'm alright, Aruna. Do not worry." He paused to hear her words, grinning ever so slightly. "Well then maybe that means something. Is he kind to you? Rahu seems likeable, but I do not know of this Wyvern. I've met a few as well. This beautiful blue mare, and a rather strange looking wind stallion. He was amusing. Came from the ocean, he did, and promised he'd take me there one day." Bairn couldn't dare look at his sister, for fear that she would laugh if he told her that he played in the water just the other day with Kasida. He didn't want her to see him like this though, so he tried his best to seem content. "No, it's nothing. Do not worry."

She chuckled as she mused over Bairn's words. "Wyvern? Kind? Maybe. He's a Kalona, Bairn. I'm sure you've heard the stories. Wyvern is probably--strangely enough--the kindest of all the others. Father said that the Kalona he met was... "terrifyingly beautiful"... Which, I assume, means he met a female." She blinked as she listened. "You said 'ocean'? I've been there before. Once. I met a stallion named Jazz, and a mare named Kanti there." She wondered if Bairn played in the seawater. "Did you play there? I did. It was quite amusing." She didn't care about what others thought of her, but she did care about what they thought of her expressions. She usually kept an impassive face around strangers, but after she got to know them, she let her guarded expression melt... a little.

"I have, yes, but not everyone acts like everyone expects them too. This Wyvern may be a Kalona, but he also can be very polite. Don't judge others just because of what you hear." Bairn told her, keeping a serious face as he spoke. The stallion honestly believed that everyone had a nice side to them, no matter what type of soquili they were. "You have? I'm impressed." He said softly, wishing that he too could venture to the ocean, but Mahiri wouldn't approve of it if he went alone. "I'll bet it's beautiful..." He paused, dreaming about the beauty of the big body of water. Bairn blinked at Aruna's question. Did he play in the water? Yes. But was he strong enough to tell her? No. Unlike his sister, what others thought about him mattered the most. "No I never played in water before. It's a idiotic thing to do, my sister."

Aruna quirked an ear. "Is it now? Then I suppose Father and Mother are idiots?" She suspected that Bairn was one of those Soquili that cared about what others thought of him. She snorted mentally, a little exasperated with her brother. Mahiri probably killed his view of what others would think of him. Hania had taught her that trick; be brutally honest with a straight face, and no one can laugh at you. She sighed as she gently nuzzled her brother. "Bairn, tell me you're lying, and I'll believe you. Playing is not idiotic. At least, not when you do it once in a while. But, if you do it all the time, then I suppose that's where stupidity comes in..."

Hania yawned as he shook himself awake. Miakoda was still sleeping... poor girl. She probably wore herself out doing that work. Standing, he blinked as he realized that Aruna had, once again, disappeared on him. "That girl..." he grumbled, ears swerving back and forth as he tried to detect any sounds of his daughter. "I really should know her better by now. She's probably by the stream." Rolling his eyes, Hania trotted over to the streadbed, to find his daughter--and, surprisingly, his son--chatting quietly and amiably. "Well, well..." he murmured, thrilled. "Aruna! Bairn!" he called as he made his way over to them.

"They are, yes. But to an extent. They are, after all our parents." Bairn saw the exasperation she felt towards him and frowned. He had no idea why he was acting like this, maybe it was because he was afraid of what Aruna might think of him. But why would that bother him? They are siblings. They share a bond like no one else. Sighing, the stallion nodded. "Alright, I played once. But only once. I swore to myself I'd never do it again." Bairn paused and was about to continue before he heard Hania's voice. "Father?" He called out, wanting to speak to him again.

Aruna flicked an ear when she heard Hania, but didn't say anything. Instead, she told her brother, "Bairn. Do you think of me as such? I would never think less of you even if you played around like Mother! You're my brother, dearest one." She nuzzled him, and then finally acknowledged her father. "I figured you'd have still been asleep, Father. Good tidings." She smiled, and moved so that Hania could enter the small "circle".

Hania nearly frowned when he felt the small tension, but he quickly dismissed it. "Bairn! Good to see you! Good thing you're here, Aruna's caused me so much stress." He winked at his son, and then turned to his daughter. "Aruna," he said, his tone that of a mock reprimanding, "How many times have I told you to stop wandering off on your own!?" He shook his head, but smiled. "Anyway, good 'tidings' to both of you." Hania hated the formal tones that Aruna always spoke in, but it was the way she was, he supposed.

Ashamed that he thought so, Bairn frowned and looked into his sister's golden brown eyes. "Sorry, Aruna. I'm just ashamed of myself, is all." He nuzzled her back, then turned to look at Hania as he approached them. "Hello father." The stallion said softly, grinning as he listened to his father speak to Aruna. "I'm terribly sorry, father." He whispered to him, "She gets out of hand sometimes, I realize. Maybe she just needs more then a brother, a sister, or parents. Maybe she needs a friend." Chuckling slightly when he finished speaking. Mocking Aruna like Hania just did, his voice got high pitched, "Good tidings, father. I hope your well. Mother hasn't stopped talking about you lately."

Aruna glared at her brother and said with a mocking voice, "Forgive me for being so lonely. I haven't any friends, so I get out to try and find some, thus my troublemaking." She rolled her eyes at Hania. "Now you've started him, Father!" Aruna smiled at Bairn. "Never feel ashamed, brother. You have a proud heritage." She then said under her breath so that only Bairn could hear, "Father never shuts up about Mother, either."

Hania smirked at his daughter. "Indeed she is, my son. Maybe we should just keep her secluded, and then whichever male she sees first (doesn't include us) will be her mate?" He laughed aloud, but soon stopped because he knew that he might just push it with Aruna. "I have so missed your mother. I think of her dawn, noon, and night." He sighed dramatically. "What I wouldn't give to frolick and run, and play in the water with your beautious mother again."

"You're not lonely, sis. You have father, me, mother and Artemis." He said jokingly, nuzzling Aruna softly. "You'll find someone perfect for you one day my dear." Bairn told her, now getting more serious. "My heritage? I guess you're right." The stallion couldn't help but still feel ashamed. "Ha! That's why they are perfect for eachother. I envy them sometimes." Turning to his father, he grinned. "Well, father...that's not a very good suggestion. What if that stallion happens to be..." He paused and looked at Aruna, "Rahu." Bairn suddently laughed loudly, which was something he did rarely and hide behind Hania in case Aruna was going to hurt him. "Mother is still sleeping, father. But I'm sure she'll come looking for me when she wakes." He made a sick face when Hania talked about her 'beauty'. "Eh, dad...it's mother your talking about!"

Aruna stared. And stared. She was so stunned, she was practically gaping. "Ra... Ra... Ra... Ra... Ra..." she stuttered, unable to complete her thought process or sentence. "RAHU!?" She screeched, and backed away, nearly tripping over herself in her stunned state. "Why... Why would... Why would I... Why would... Why would he...!?" She continued gaping, all dignity lost as her brain seemed to shut down, and she just stared. And stared. And... stared.

Hania narrowed his eyes at both his children. "Who is this Rahu? Has he hurt you, Aruna? Where's this stallion?" Hania's protective side was kicking in. "Bairn, this stallion sounds like he might have harrassed your sister! I wish to have a... talk... with this stallion!" Hania snorted angrily, and stomped his foot, ignoring Aruna's stunned state as rage ran through his blood.

Bairn couldn't help but laugh at his sister. She seemed so stunned by this, but the stallion had a gut feeling that they were meant to be together. Turning to Hania, he shook his head. "Rahu is not all that bad, father. I met him once, and he seemed alright. And he hasn't hurt Aruna, only just verbally harrassed her. She likes it too." He teased his sister, staring right back at her. "I wouldn't worry though, Aruna is a big girl. She can take care of herself. Isn't that right, sis?" He mocked her, having fun with this whole situation. In truth, he didn't exactly trust Rahu either, but it was best if Hania didn't worry.

Aruna muttered angrily. "Rahu is NOT the one for me, brother. I'd've rather mated Wyvern!" She blurted, then her eyes widened and she blushed a bright red in embarrassment. "You didn't hear that! You didn't hear that!" She was at a loss. What could she do? She'd just lost her dignity because of what her brother had said. Of course, she didn't need Hania to worry, so she agreed with Bairn best she could. "I do NOT like him verbally harrassing me, but I admit to enjoying the verbal fights. He's not all that bad, but well... I still don't think he's the right one for me." She glared at her brother.

Hania snorted, and calmed. "If you both say so. However, if anything bad happens to you, Aruna, I declare Bairn to take care of you and help you. I doubt I'll be able to help you myself, since our bonded will be using me. I have a feeling that in the future, I will only be able to see you and your mother and then I'm off to somewhere with Miakoda." He walked over and nuzzled both his children. "And if you'll excuse me, I'm off to visit your mother." He turned and walked back into the forest.

((Intense o_0))

Bairn's ears perked up at the mention of Wyvern. They had talked about him earlier and although he had never met this Kalona, Bairn didn't trust him at all. "Really? Well, then my dear sister, I am sorry for assuming so." The brown male appologized, bowing slightly to Aruna. "Do you accept my apology?" Smiling at Hania, he nodded. "Alright, I will protect her." But he seemed rather taken back by something his father said. "Where is your bonded taking you? Will you be gone forever?" He shouted, as Hania walked to see Mahiri. Bairn didn't want his father to leave, and he was sure his mother would have a fit.

The fox mare was standing just outside her teepee, as her bonded Lalit was brushing her mane softly. The two of them had just woken up moments ago, and were enjoying the morning light. But Bairn was missing. Where is that silly son of mine? Mahiri thought to herself, laughing. But mostly, she missed her mate, Hania. It had been a while since the two of them saw eachother, and the mare wanted nothing more then to run and play with him. Where could be possibly be?

Aruna nuzzled her brother. "Father won't be gone forever. It's just that, lately, something seems to be distressing Miakoda, and she's been out with Hania every other day. He'll be back. I think Miakoda's planning a short four-day trip, but Father will definitely be back. He won't abandon us. He loves us too much." Aruna had deep faith in her father, because he had never broken a promise to his family. "I accept. Any opinions or advise from my new acclaimed guardian?"

Hania trotted into view of Mahiri's home, and neighed a greeting as he approached. "Hiri! Hiri!" He called. It had been so long since he'd seen, smelled her scent, seen her beautiful face, her cheerfuless... and her name. He hadn't called her "Hiri" in a long, long time.

((Ack, g2g soon. >.< It's almost 10, and my dad's gonna kick me off to get to bed. But let's continue... things are starting to get... interesting.))
