There isn't really one large topic. The chatterbox is a large forum for saying whatever you want. Just start a new topic or post in current ones.

So I'm slowly beginning the process of creating a OC, but I would like to know the limitations on what we can make, and cannot make. I'd just like an vague idea. After giving that request some thought though, I should probably be a bit more specific. For OC are we limited to sticking specifically to class, or is it possible for a character to change up weapon styles, slightly. An example, a sword master duel wielding.
Also, I managed to notice you are in need of Laguz. I'm still wary to do a whole lot of planning, but what are the limitations on Laguz? For FEF are they allowed to weild weapons while in a humanoid form? Or are the left unarmed as the games have had them.

While I'm not sure about the duel wielding swordmaster (Please, no more swordsmen. D smile , I'm currently making an OC that's a Laguz. In order to blend into Beorc society, he carries around a sword to try to pass off as a mercenary. However, seeing as how he'll transform to fight, does not use it.

The question towards the swordsman was actually had less to do with a swordmaster than with the thought in general. I'd already noticed a plethora of Myrmidons. They don't need anymore, but they don't really need anymore of the main classes at all from the looks of it. I was actually planning on taking the path of a ranger with a character, but to do that I'd have to have a mercenary or a archer, both of which are rather full at the moment.
My question about the Laguz was because I didn't think they could stay transformed at all times. I'm basically asking about mixing classes I realize, but whatever >.> Still a request XD

If you want, you can go ahead and make a ranger. We don't really have a system that says you can't start as one.
I'm not entirely sure on that, Aro. But Annis the Raven and Loch the Heron are laguz that use beorc weapons (Annis uses knives and is like a rogue) or magic (Loch uses Anima, I believe). They look like Laguz and can fly still, but don't transform.

Hm... I like developing my characters though *Doing some thinking* I can always start the character as a very unskilled ranger I suppose, having not much original skill in either bow or sword. Tis an interesting thought. I'll give that some debate in my mind. Thank you for that thought.
>.< Meh. If I go with mixing ideas, then I'm going to have to just make the profile and send it in I suppose and see what I get. As I don't think Laguz can stay transformed for very long, that is where my request to mix classes comes from. There are exceptions to that I know. When playing the games that was something that constantly concerned me, the inability for the Laguz to really fight well when not transformed.
Eh, I might as well start working on a request and all that fun stuff, such as a back story.

You could say your laguz is some kind of martial artist. And really, the only reason they can't stay transformed in the game is because that would make it entirely too easy. In FEF, the laguz stay transformed as long as there's battle going on. We've got much less limitations on what you can and can't do with your character.

Ah. Ok then.
I knew that >.> Still my wariness sometimes gets the best of me. Because of that, I may end up making more than one character since I now know that. That may also prove beneficial to me keeping in character, having two characters who come in together. I don't know yet. Thank you for the insight, and hopefully soon I'll finish re-reading the main thread things and begin the process of creating a character, or two depending on what happens.

@ Kiln: The limit we have on the OC is the number of characters you will own. The maximum number is five while the minimum is one, and that's including the main character you owe. This mean, you have four slots open for your OCs while the first slot is reserved for your main character. For example, take me for example. My main character is Isadora (that's me) while my OC is a Tiger laguz. This means I have two characters occupied while three slots are opened. As for what to make and what not to make, I will say you can make your character into any class you like as long as it has Fire Emblem references in it. If you like to know what class you want your OC to be, here's a list of OCs we have and what we lack of. As for the question about the laguz and weapons, no. Laguz do carry weapons, but they use it for hunting and cooking kit such as picking small bones or peeling a fruit. The only exception that they will use them as weapons are if they are unable to transform (like Annis who was raised by beorc since she was a baby) or they are Fallen (like Loch). When the laguz are not in their transforms, they use their fists and maybe legs to fight back. This has developed in Radiant Dawn for the laguz to attack back if they are not in their animal form.

... Ok? I figure now would be the best time to make sure of this, but an Original Character can be my main, correct? I figure that needs to be asked right now before I do anything. I'd assume that this is answered with a yes, but I'm going to ask anyways.
I've seen the list, that's how I knew ruffly what was taken and what wasn't. I've explored quite a bit, which is why I've decided to start on a character.
Ok! That's fine, after having the discussion with Kamina (I don't know what the character is so I'm going by username) I had already decided to not make a Laguz who uses a weapon simply because I didn't have to worry about it. It was directly much simpler to just avoid the weapon idea with a Laguz.
Thank you for the comments though. The comment about classes did help me in the thought process of what I was going to do with a character.

Your main can be your OC. Some people may even make you a linkcard out of your OC's description.

Well, if you didn't claim a character from this list, then yes, your OC is your main character. Takes Queen Melethia Dagon for example. She hasn't made claim in that list for over two years, but she has her OC as her main character. In addition, you don't need to use your main character as your main to play in the RP too. Another person to use as example is kerushii-sushi, who is also known as Lyon. Her main character is Lyon, but she uses her OC as her main for the RP. So whichever characters you use as your main RP character is up to you. We're not going to force you which characters you have to play in the RP.

Ok I've finished both profiles, since I said I'd make two, and it took me almost all day >.> Anyways, I want to know if I should send the long profiles to Rath, or a link to them anyways, or should I send him the short profiles. I'm curious because I would hate to send something that is unwanted XD
