Raising a brow as she continued to look to the vixen, she was starting to wonder if she was much like Jerome and the Spartans with their ability of near super human strength and speed. Tilting her head slowly, it seemed she was pondering....something serious from the look on her face and how all of a sudden she took to whatever inner thoughts she had.

That is, until she spoke words the vixen really didn't want to hear. "Samus....what are you talking about." Koyuki breathed, already her heart finding its rhythm at a swifter pace than before. As her ears slid near parallel with her skull, the notion that she and Jerome had been deceived by this blond haired woman sent a chill down her spine. Jerome trusted you... In essence, she did too....

"Then who are you...?" Little did the vixen quite realize it was more of a what she was, rather than a who which would prove the biggest shocker of all.

"You will see." she said as she still wondered if this was a good idea. Already she was reading the mind of the vixen, and being who she was, she was keen to respond, via mind projection. "It's hard for him to trust when he barely knows of the bounty hunter herself" a metallic almost unisex voice spoke to Koyuki.

Deciding she had no choice, she allowed her body to float in the air as the shell of the vixen started cracking, revealing an ominous blue glow that soon morphed and grew into the true form of the beast. Large and dragonlike, the creature still was being unaffected by the effects of being turned to a fox.

Looking down at the now much smaller creature, the being now tried to look sympathetic by lowing it's ears and crest. "I can understand if you still don't trust me, but I don't get to feel needed because of what I am.

Well. Who was definitely now an understatement. Wide eyed and frozen in her place by the voice which had eased into her mind, the vixen felt it was unwise to even think now...and it was really all she had left at this point. Watching as the normal blond haired fox now turned into this giant, dragonic beast before her it took all her might to keep herself from fainting at that very moment.

"Y.......y...." As her heart fully pounded in her ears, the vixen swallowed hard as she pressed her back fully to the tree. Here she was....with the 'monster' which was to terrorize the beach this weekend. Jerome was no where close enough for her to get to, and even though her body screamed for her to flee; her feet remained motionless....her mind reminding her of the fate of her unborns. ".....You're the doppelganger!" Okay, maybe that wasn't true, but it was the most intelligent thing that could come from her mouth at the moment.

A small, very small part of her felt a bit sympathetic to the creature at the look it was giving her, a feeling unknown to the vixen at why she was even feeling such. "I.....well....no....you said it yourself....You kill foxes....you're going to kill the beach goers!" Would she kill Jerome too, since now he was going to remain at the beach to stop in essence, her. "Its that notion that makes it hard to trust anyone....but....why are you helping me, then?" It was clear that both she and the creature knew she'd be a most easy kill, out here alone with no real way to escape from her condition.

As much as it confused her why she felt anything close to the satisfaction of being needed, it confused Koyuki even more.

Even the black jagged marking of a smile didn't fully express the realization that someone finally caught on to it's plight, the mere mention of 'doppleganger' made the membrane around the beasts mouth split in an ooze like manner. It hated speaking with it's tongue, but it might have added a level of understanding. That and it wouldn't need to waste precious power to project it's thoughts. "Yes..I am. And yes, I do kill foxes, but no one listens to my side of the story now do they?" It said as it raised it's behemoth muzzle from the ground.

Standing on it's hind legs and barely clearing the treetops, it looked to see if it could spot the beach, with of course no success. Then it sat back on it's haunches, and looked down, eyes probing almost at Koyuki's very existence. "For many years, I was a dumb creature running on pure instinct. It wasn't until of recent that my intelligence was pushed and formed, but then I found myself able to escape, but I landed here. I help you because I fear I suddenly need social acceptance, and oddly enough a maternal instinct has kicked in as well." It paused as it listened to it's own words, surprised it was ever able to say such a thing.

Blinking back a dumbfounded expression, Koyuki kept close to the tree as she reared up and looked over the treetops; never feeling so small in her life....and she was in love with a Spartan no less. It was terrifying, and if she didn't keep herself at bay who knew what was going to happen; so meekly, she nodded her head. "Not everyone is willing to take a moment to listen.....but there are those who will.." She stated, trying not to get on what used to be Samus' nerves.

However, the notion that this titan felt some sort of maternal emotion over her was the biggest shock of all. Koyuki knew she often attracted strangeness to her, after all, her mother was a Youkai, she had that encounter with someone trying to kill her, and not to forget Arbiter who birthed her children no less....but now this?

As much as she wanted to mention not killing foxes would be a wonderful leap into social acceptance, Koyuki figured best to leave that feeling lay silent in her thoughts and voice. "Aah.....I see. I am greatful....really I am.....just....forgive this fear." There was no lying she probably looked like a scared little mouse for good reason. "As I said before....this is all way....way, over my head from what i'm used to." Literally.

Finally stepping out from the 'protection' of the tree, she neared the beast as her paws returned her to the path they'd been going on. "I...don't suppose you still want me to call you Samus then....huh?"

It stood on its hind legs once more, stretching it's neck as far as possible. Only at this point did the multiple eyes open and gaze around. It put one hand into the air and used the eye on the back of it's hand to view the land. Mean while he eye on it's other hand gazed down to Koyuki. It's adjacent tentacle slithered nearby and hovered nearby, but soon jerking back as the beast lowered to it's four legged stance, a light thud quaking beneath it's feet. "Yes..It would seem none are willing to listen majority of the time."

"Your fear is understandable, though not forgivable. Fear is instinct, thus there is nothing for me to forgive." It said looking down, with 3 eyes now looking at the small creature below. "I have two names. The galaxy now calls me Dark Samus, though my inhabitants of the now destroyed Phaaze called me Nara. You may choose either."

Keeping motionless at the sight of the tentacles which hovered along the air like glowing snakes, The vixen could relax only for a moment as the ground trembled under her paws. Grabbing her stomach instinctively as the pain returned for a moment, Koyuki took a few calming breaths to keep her strength up. It was still a long ways from home and the comforts which waited for her there and she needed to stay strong.

Listening to the wise words of the creature, Koyuki was a bit amazed that she'd gained so much knowledge in the time between then and now, but also felt the hardship in the used to be vixen's voice. She wasn't sure if she was suicidal or just naive....but the vixen slowly approached till the was beside the great titan, reaching out a paw to touch on her leg gently...minding the eyes of course. "I'll call you Nara...it sounds like that is more of a name than being a shadow of something else..." Taking a breath, she looked to the path ahead, before way up to Nara. "I...am willing to listen, its one of the few things I can do well; if you have a story which needs telling..." She offered, drawing her paw back after as she folded them infront of her.

Looking to the much smaller being, it soon bent it's nose down and closed the third eye. "Sit behind my head. We must get moving." it said as the rest of it's body lowered to the ground and waited. Nara didn't want to be rude, but it had been a while since it's last meal. Despite what was going on here, the beast would still be lusting for blood, and the sooner the better.

"My plight should wait for another day. I fear I will not be able to leave this planet as easily as I have in the past." it said, tail flicking impatiently

"Ah! Yes of course...." Feeling that nervousness return, she knew it wasn't going to be the same as how Jerome had carried her in the past. It was times like these she wished there had been horses around to ride or something....but it would just have to do.

Moving over to Nara's neck, the vixen eased herself on as she was aware of the glowing tentacles erupting from the creatures back. Placing her paws on her ears, she wondered if it would be acceptable to hold or if she should be holding onto her neck. "Is this alright...?" Goodness, if Jerome was to see her now, or anyone for that matter. It was still hard to believe herself, that she was bare backing a creature so large and so 'dangerous'. However as the uneasy feeling settled over her once again from the turmoil of her stomach, she found herself holding on firmly, but not by any means painfully. "I'm ready when you are..."

As the vixen settled herself in, Nara raised her right hand, and the piercing gaze of the eye on the back of the clawed hand, looked Koyuki over, blinking a few times before eventually shutting. "Yes, That should be fine. I'll raise the spines so if you slide back, you won't hit the whips." it said as surely the three spines between it's shoulders raised. The beast tried to move slowly to it's standing position before raising it's neck to a comfortable arch. Fortunately, the thin skin and spinal cord beneath was likely to provide a nice groove for the much smaller fox, so there was no worry in Nara's mind that she would fall off.

"Very well then. What sounds better to you? Speed run or just plain hovering. Speed run will get us to our destination faster...though I can't ensure an entirely bump free ride..not to say the hovering wouldn't be without bumps either." It was a pretty moot point.. Super fast and bumpy..or slow and kind of bumpy. It started to take a few smooth steps, and already it was hoping for the speed run. The trail seemed wide enough for the run, and it's reflexes were fast enough to dodge things with ease...so it hopped they would not be forced to slowly hover over the treeline

Looking back behind her as she could see the three spines rise up from being flush against her back, Koyuki nodded, noting the eye on the paw which watched her until it was returned to the ground. "Thank you..." She spoke gently, knowing she could hear her since she was sitting so close to her ears. Looking ahead, it was amazing the world she could see from way up high; thanking higher powers she wasn't afraid of heights or it would have been one helluva long trip.

"Either has their drawbacks...." Koyuki pondered aloud before Nara began her smooth strides. It wasn't as bad as she originally thought as she bent her torso forward to try and keep her body in rhythmic sync to the rocking of Nara's body due to motion. As much as she didn't like the sounds of a speedy run....Koyuki didn't want to risk the chance of getting sick on Nara.

That....and the fact it was apparent Nara had other plans to return to the beach later.

"You can run, Nara. I'll try my best to hold out till we get there." Koyuki took a breath, making sure her legs pressed firmly in grip around the dragonkin's neck and her paws had a nice grip on her dark ears. Preparing herself for what she assumed was the trip of a lifetime.

The Speed run..An excuse to run fast and take on the warped Varia suit. It's black strip along the side of it's face seemed to grow. "Very well then. Prepare for a few changes." it warned as it lowered it's head just so to focus on the task at hand. A strange bubbling liquid appeared at it's feet and soon tasked itself to wriggle and writhe it's way up the creatures limbs, soon forming a protective blue suit. The spines now gone, there was still plenty to aide in the fox in staying on.

The helmet was the last to finish it's transformation and soon the beast turned, getting up a good trot before turning again, staring at the trail ahead before taking off in a run. At first the run was sluggish and more like a horses gallop, but then the tentacles retracted and the protrusions of armor near the fox began to glow and power up, and soon like a sonic boom, Nara was running at speeds that rivaled a race car.

"Changes?" Koyuki echoed, blinking twice before realizing what she'd meant by these changes. Looking down as the strange liquid of sorts bubbled and oozed at Nara's feet, she could feel that nervous feeling well back in full force; watching the stuff become armor with a mind of its own.

And here she thought Spartan's were fast.

Before the poor thing even knew it the sound of something powering up had her pupils retract in a sinking realization as that gallop soon turned into some sort of bat out of hell power force which had her take off like a rocket no less. With a help at the sudden force and winds roaring in her ears she ditched the effort to hold on properly and flung her arms around Nara's neck and held on for dear life. The helmet of the dragon offered her some protection from the wind now that she was nearly a-lined with her frame, but if she didn't die of a heart attack before she'd even get home Koyuki would be pleasantly surprised for sure since all that was going through her head was something akin to:

Ohgodohgodohgodohgod!
PostPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 3:02 am

Running down the path at the incredible speeds, Nara felt the vixen cling for dear life. Not at all surprised, it continued at the break neck speeds, twisting and turning with the path and creating a hell of a wake as it tore down the path. How glad it was to have acquired such a handy item from the pirates, for once they managed to do something right.

As Nara was forced to leap over a fallen tree, it caught sight of a house not to far away. Aawwww...I wanted to run more it thought. Only seconds later and the beast blazed from the trail and into the opening, but now the problem of stopping. Commanding the speed boost to halt, and abruptly trying to get it's feet to stop, the creature was soon on a slide that tested it's balance, but in the end, they had managed to come to stand still without tearing up the place...the miracles of speed boast...fast running, with no after effects.

Raising a paw, the armored gauntlet glowed with a gem where the eye was, but behind the shield, Nara was looking over it's passenger. "Is this your home?"

Yawning softly as the vixen took more items out from the drier, the lack of anything amusing to do most of the day had left her in a sleepy state of mind. While things had been interesting, her energy was just sapped healing from the damages done to her back; luckily scabbed over mostly and she was able to be without bandages for once.

She wasn't sure what her companion was up to today as it was just one of those days, and was content to finish up the chores her mother was so keen on having done timely and on schedule. However, the rumbling of the earth had her look across to the trembling waters of the Japanese bath....whatever it was, it wasn't an earth quake as it had distinct patterns of something running.

Something BIG.

Wasting no time as she sprinted out of the laundry room and hit the wall as she fiddled with the door handle to get it open; Nariko nearly fell out of the door when she saw it....that ******** thing standing right in her front lawn. "Oh ******** no, its YOU!" Nariko hissed in an odd mixture of fear and anger....knowing this thing could get out of the beach and inland, and somehow...came after her and Dutch? But wait....she could see something red on the back of this beasts neck....she could have sworn it looked akin to her mothers..... No. God no.

"M....m....Mom!??!?" Nariko yelled, watching in her own horror as her mother's head finally popped up from behind Nara's Helmet.

------------------

........Ohgodohgodohgod....wait....we stopped? Koyuki slowly opened her eyes to see a still world off to the side, the force of the run had finally dissipated and she was left feeling semi safe in this new found stillness. Looking around she noticed the familiar trees of her front lawn and let out a long sigh of relief, finally....home sweet home. "Yes Nara, this is it." Yet before she could say another word, the familiar voice of Nariko rang to her ears as she popped her head up; noting the look of horror on her poor girl's face.

"Nariko! I'm...ah, back!" Koyuki gave a small wave, knowing she would have a helluva lot of explaining to do now.
