"Oh? Who says you can't?"
A sudden wind began to encompass the entire manor. It was not a frightening thing, but rather a magnificent event to behold. One would find it hard to explain, but their troubles somehow felt washed away. The pain within the manor was being cleansed and slowly replaced with a sense of hope. The manor shook, but not hard enough to make anything break. The faint giggle of a little girl could be heard emanating from all around. It had been some time, about a year, since power existed in the building- it had to relearn how to accept it.
When the wind subsided, the manor was completely renewed. When it held power, it kept itself in top condition. When the power left, it was in human hands- very capable ones, but human hands had their limitations. Any cracks in the walls, broken glass, and even faded color were restored like new. Outside, a barrier could be seen very much the same as the one it used to have.
"Don't say you can't do anything!" In front of Abel and Amelia, a transparent image of a red-haired girl appeared. "If you know what you want to do... all you have to do is go and make it happen!" The girl giggled and looked at them cheerfully.
Fefga had returned.

"You can't blame yourself. Blaming yourself and falling into depression, it won't change anything. You have to look →forward→. Remember what you have here now. Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else!" {Amelia}Amelia hesitantly lifted her hand again. She was probably not helping, what with how embarrassed he suddenly looked. "S-Sorry." Even if she had kids now, she was still young. She wasn't completely an adult yet.
"I wish there was something we could do! It doesn't feel right to just leave everyone to their fate. But if we do anything... it'll just make the guild look bad. I wish we could save the other members from going to jail, but... we can't."
Amelia sighed, nodding once. She opened her mouth to respond, running a hand through her hair.
"Oh? Who says you can't?"
Amelia startled, looking up to the ceiling, all around her. The voice... it was so familiar... The wind picked up around her, swirling her clothes and hair around her short frame, and suddenly everything... it was difficult to put to words. Everything just felt... lighter. Her worry was not as pronounced now, all of a sudden. Things could be fixed. People could be saved. It could be done.
Amelia startled again with the faint giggle, and before she could focus on how the signs of wear had vanished from the walls of the manor, things that not even the hard work of she and Rhys could remove, there she was.
"Fefga...!" The General smiled, eyes widening with an almost childlike excitement. If Fefga had returned, then the manor had its power back!
That was definitely a good sign, wasn't it?
"How did you... well, wait, I don't care how you got back. The point is you're back!" Amelia grinned. She would have hugged her if, well, she wasn't a spirit.
Amelia turned to Abel, smiling, then looked back at the others in the manor. "She's right, you know. I mean... we can do something here. Maybe Rogvald's got his clutches in the city. But we've been here longer and more recently than he has. We know things about this place and this land that he doesn't! We can fight back!" She put her hands on her hips, glanced back at Fefga, then looked back at those in the manor. "And knowing us, we're going to win." {Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... Being a member of the holy order doesn't mean you can't put your own wants first sometimes. The goddess is supposed to be all‑forgiving, right? You've worked hard and you deserve to do some things that make you happy. I think she'd forgive you for it."

"Yeeeeeep!" She giggled again. "I only wish I coulda come back sooner. When I was beaten, I went and rejoined with the others. But when you guys beat Loki, some of us woke up and our power started to return. It took me this long to get enough of mine back."
She started to dance around like a child, not intending to speak anymore of the 'others' or what exactly she meant by rejoining or waking up. "It feels nice to be back. So many people inside..." She glanced up to the ceiling and smiled as if something was there and then back to the two in front of her.
"Your friends are in the Watch house, but you won't be able to get them out of there." She shook her head. "Nope, nope. Too many guards, too close to the castle. Buuuuuut~ In a few days, they're gunna be taken to the asylum in the eastern mountains. If you wanna save them, you can do it then!"
She wiggled her head towards each of her shoulders. "Buuuut~ before you do that, you gotta do oooone little thing." She stopped moving. "You gotta quit the guild." She nodded. "You can'ts be in a resistance while still bein a guild member. That would shuts it down." She looked over at Abel and smiled. "You said you wished there was somethin you could do. You've only got a few days to decide. Ifs you wanna save your friends, then gather some help and prepare. This place will keep you safe. Anybody who would do you harm will not be able to enter. This was your idea. Only you can save them, now."

Abel looked around frantically when the strange voice came out of nowhere. "W-who said that?" Then the room shook a little and there was a strange wind. A little girl's laughter could be heard echoing, but for some reason, Abel wasn't scared. He no longer needed the nomad grass to make himself feel better. Whatever power had come, it filled him with ease of mind.
When Amelia called out a name, Abel turned to where she was looking and saw a spirit! Abel didn't recall ever seeing Fefga before, but Amelia knew it was her, and that was the best news they had gotten in a while. Abel looked at her in amazement. He didn't really know how to react. She had returned when she was needed the most. It was a miracle.
The boy looked at Amelia and listened to what she said. He wanted to believe her. Then he listened to Fefga explain things and present what they had to do. When the spirit spoke to him, he was taken aback. He took in the message and then shook his head. "Your return gives us a way to fight back... but... I'm not smart. I don't know how to do all that. I'm not a leader, I'm a follower. I can't gather people to do this, I-I can't coordinate a rescue mission- This isn't up to me." He turned to Amelia. "You're a crew member, you should lead this 'resistance'."

Clara RisnaClara was still crying when the manor began to change. She felt like there was a warm light on her body. She lifted her head up, the tears still in her eyes.
"What is that warm feeling I'm getting?" She told herself. She stood up. There was a little bit of pain from where she kicked the chair. The Mymrdon started walking towards the feeling with a little limp in her step. When she got to the living room, not only did Clara see Abel and Amelia, she saw a spirit. FEFGA to be exact. Her eyes widened in surprise as she used a wall to keep herself steady.
"Who and what are you?" She said as she pointed a finger to the spirit. Try to lay a hand on the things I care about......I'll take you down before you know it.

So...that's it.
The researcher had coaxed Orthrus near and idled the time away petting him, although his thoughts had been fixed on the situation. Everything he managed to make out was strongly possessed of such negative pulses that it made even him a bit ill. His queer compulsions of laughter had subsided as though to let him listen on in peace (well, with as much peace as one could muster in such a grim light), and he'd sat back, partly pondering this and partly pondering the trial.
Exiles. Executions. They should not have been so unusual to him. A thief would have a hand or finger removed when he was caught, no? A man with a loose tongue was sure to lose that tongue, as well. And judges varied, their severity ranging from the apathetic to the high-strung. This was just another day in the world of criminal justice.
What did bother him, however, was that the trial was being held in the middle of a war. Not only that, but Soren had to admit that he was troubled. People he knew and recognized were being punished for actions long forgotten, perhaps even forgiven. Exiled. Executed.
Executed.
Execution.
Execution...
Something hit him. It seized the back of his head and he was suddenly reeling in nostalgia, and Soren raised a hand to the side of his head, trying to clear his thoughts, trying to focus what it was he was attempting to remember. He continued to scratch Orthrus's belly with his other hand, the pup entirely oblivious to the predicament below and beside him.
Execution...
One Samhain ago...no, no, two. Two years ago. Had he been in Learania that long? Had he abandoned transformation research that long ago? Had it really been two years since...
The carcass of a beautiful woman lay crumpled in the corner of a dainty little house, her face forever smothered in failure before death.
He remembered an execution... Or, rather, an execution had been meant to take place. Who? Who was it? Someone had come to rescue her... Hadn't Vaida done that? And now she's on death row... The tactician—the tactician Alihi, right?
She had gotten away that time—
but would Captain Rath and Vaida get away?
It was then that the arrival of another presence drew his attention away. It did not occupy the same space as him, but it was somewhere within the manor. Or around it. Yes, it felt more like it encompassed the entirety of the place. Soren closed his eyes to focus instead on that familiar sensation rather than grim memories. This time, quick and clear, the answer occurred to him. He paused in petting the two-headed pup.
She's returned. I should have known she would.
He cracked a thin, tired smile.

Rei ignored all that occurred around him for a few moments once the verdict was handed down. Exile. Exile. By the looks of things, Rogvald was just taking out anyone with the guts to stand up to him and his regime! Nino was gone, sure, but Rath wouldn't actually do anything to her. Sacaean Nomads, especially ones like Rath, had more than enough honor not to kill a woman that was allegedly sick. And while she had gone without an appearance in more than long enough for her to be assumed dead, her body had yet to surface. People went off on pilgrimages and adventures all the time, and she would surely be no different. This was a large, large place, after all, and the one in charge could surely benefit from learning customs firsthand. And the leader of the political structure choosing to make an adventure public would just be like painting neon targets all over her and anywhere she went. Rath seemed innocent, at least in the eyes of the "victim's" son. And Vaida... taking the fall for her subordinate was noble, at the least. She had a short fuse, and she was violent, yes, but she was more than smart enough to keep Mihira out of political trouble barring accidents. The woman saved the life of her subordinate possibly at the cost of her own.
Two prominent figures in the political structure of Learania, sentenced to death: the head of the Crew, the Head Captain of the Watch. Other Watch and Guard members were stripped of their titles, so all that was left was just those who would pick up the pieces of the Watch, and a few scattered members of the Guard, who would likely never recover from the losses. Rogvald was tearing down the government, all for some stupid little child who didn't seem to know his a** from his elbow! Rei didn't even remember hearing the boy's voice. By the looks of things, he was little more than an unwitting puppet of the old bat. It seemed like in old age, people either went towards benevolence, like Niime the Mountain Hermit, or towards the obvious malevolence, like this Rogvald, or like Margarete. At the least, he hoped he wouldn't turn out like the latter two.
As people began to pick up the pieces, Rei only sat in a chair and thought. There was so much wrong with everything now, and fixing it would be nigh impossible. The executions would be filled with security, filled with armed guards, and with civilians for and against the deaths. All those obstacles, but there had to be something...
As Fefga appeared, as she was prone to do, Rei only shot her a glance from his chair. All she ever did was pop up and give pointless words of encouragement. The spirit never fought, never did anything to concretely help anyone in need, aside from... leave her home as a safe haven, as Amelia had said earlier. The Druid smiled as he looked out a window, listening to the chatter behind him. Abel had brought in some sort of illegal substance. Great. But, it didn't matter, he wasn't affiliated with any sort of laws anymore.
Simple banter was exchanged between a few people, until Amelia chirped up with what seemed like nothing more than a call to arms! Rei never knew her to be so... so.... headstrong like that. Maybe having a child left her to finally toughen up, like he'd told her to do those months ago when they nearly killed each other. The Druid found himself standing from his seat as things were beginning to pick up. As one of these exiles, he's be almost expected to pitch in, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
But, when the talks began to go towards a leader, and of all people Amelia was suggested, Rei just laughed. "Abel, is that the only reason you have? Because she's a Crew member? So is Nils, if you forgot. And Abel, think of it this way: Should Amelia really be leading this resistance? Think about what she'd be putting on the line..."
Rei smiled, shooting the Hero a wonderfully dirty look for his suggestion. "She, like Alihi, has a child. Except this child, baby Aisen, is just that, a baby. Babies are very high maintenance. Were Amelia to take charge of this rebellion, she would be endangering the well-being of her child, wouldn't she? Were things to go wrong, the child could be left to suffer for the rest of his life, or even worse, be taken away, given Rogvald's sick sense of justice." The Druid looked over at Amelia, giving her an apologetic smile. She likely didn't need that on her mind, along with everything else, but he didn't want her to do anything stupid because others screwed up.
"Not to mention," he continued, without much of a pause, "Look at what Amelia contributes to the Guild. She and Rhys are in charge of the Host Club. With myself, Nils and FD here on the outs with the government, they can't afford to put themselves at risk! How many times have we all been on the brink of total collapse, only to have the Host Club throw a party to breathe new life into this city?" Again, Rei looked at Abel. He remembered back, before Asami, the catalyst for his version of this issue, even was conceived. A Host Club party where Rei, possessed by a certain flirtatious spirit, crossed blades with Abel. Had that not happened, Abel likely wouldn't have even the smallest connection with the tactician. And of course, he didn't even have to mention any actual examples, because anyone who was in the guild for more than a few months surely knew what he meant. "Do we really want the Host Club to be taken over by Rogvald and his cronies? Do we want boring, elderly-arranged parties each holiday, each time we bring this town back from the brink of despair? I doubt it."
"No, if anyone should lead this resistance, it should be someone with experience." The Druid scanned the room, looking for someone, anyone, with stable leadership experience in the past. And really, there were rather slim pickings. "Personally, I think I should lead this ragtag group!" Rei followed the declaration with a laugh, making at least an attempt to lighten the mood, or to at least make people think he was laughing at himself. "If you remember way back to when Madriana invaded with her Morphs, who took charge of this manor to make sure that we didn't cause our own demise? I did. Who ended up exiled by the powers in charge, with my own life constantly endangered the entire time, like how our lives would be if we didn't have this safe haven? I did. Who was it, everyone, that exiled himself when Asami's venom was running through the veins of Eyris? Me, what a surprise. Who is it, that at the young age of thirteen, was wandering war-torn Elibe and evading hostile Bernese forces until running into Roy's Etrurian forces? Yet again, me!"
Rei paused, taking some time to catch his breath while people likely thought about whatever was going through their minds. "Is there anyone else here with any experience with this sort of thing that even gets close to comparing to mine? I doubt it." Again, he paused, taking his Mend staff to use as a crutch to continue catching his breath. Talking this much, this often was quite the drain, after all! "Plus, I doubt I'd be the only one who wants to see the look on that old sack of waste's face when the son of the woman he overthrew comes busting down his door." Rei laughed, looking through all of the people around him. If he made this giant speech for nothing, and they chose someone clearly unfit for the job, the Druid didn't doubt that at least some of them would end up in line for an execution themselves...

Rhys had had a long day of it, keeping Aisen happy and entertained. Mostly because EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME Aisen was asleep, someone decided it would be a great time to shout out loud something about a great injustice or whatever. By the end of the afternoon, nothing he did stopped Aisen's crying--that baby had just plain had ENOUGH of those damn crybabies downstairs. This was HIS house, there were unpleasant strangers in it, and they were keeping him awake! Was it so much to ask that they shut up!?
So it was that he came downstairs, announced by Aisen's loud crying. He looked... furious.
"I don't care who was guilty of what," he began, clearly doing his best to reign in his temper, "But if they bring those thrice-blasted trials in here again... there will be a reckoning!"
But then Fefga appeared, and she said some stuff. Rhys was still pretty deranged and Aisen still quite upset, but the aura helped bring down their anger. Rhys seemed merely irritated, and Aisen's bawling greatly decreased in intensity. Now he was merely fidgety, and would probably go back to sleep (for the umpteenth time today).
"Now then. I missed the crimes. Would someone please tell me what happened?"
--------
Jin had been there, believe it or not. After all, though he was who he was, he was also a doctor, and therefore in relatively good standing in Eyris. As such, he could sit in the crowd without being bothered.
For the most part... he had to admit. Rogvald may have been a self-righteous, overbearing noble. To Black Fang, that was a no-no. Rogvald must die.
But in most cases... it seemed to him that Rogvald was actually justified. Who was FEF, to think that being punished for this "friendly fire" incident after running away from it was injustice? In accidents like that--it's true that you risked hurting the confidence of your allies, but to say nothing would make the sting even worse. And who was FEF indeed, to think that saving one little girl was worth risking open war with an enemy to whom death seemed to mean nothing? Oh, he'd no doubt that war with Sentria was not their intent. But surely they knew the risks.
They claim that the advisor brings a mockery to justice. If this is so, it's my duty as Black Fang to bring him in turn to justice. Yet his claims do not sound so absurd, regardless of the timing. So what if he actually IS just? What if I killed him, and I was wrong? Could I live with that? Black Fang didn't just kill every lord they came across, after all. They made damn sure the lord was clearly evil before their judgment rained down upon him.
In any case, right or wrong... Blossom was his friend. One of the few friends he'd had since coming here. Right or wrong...
Could he, though? Fighting to free their friends... it was absurd. To do so would be to say to the common people, "We don't care about your laws". And to Jin, that was unforgivable.
But to leave a friend to a terrible fate in this "grand prison" of theirs... even if Blossom had not done all she could to rectify her actions, that too was unforgivable.
Fefga's calming influence, however, gave him a little guidance. Well, it's true that she did wrong... but nobody sentenced her to death, and nobody said I had to kill anyone to free her. They'll be just normal guards, right? I bet I could take them en route. They'll never even know I'm coming...

Fefga zipped in front of Clara and pointed right back. "Who are what are you?!" She looked at the girl angrily for a moment, then giggled and zipped back over to Abel and Amelia.
Then a very troubling feeling overcame the spirit. She looked over and saw Rei. Normally, it would make her happy to see him, but... he had changed. And as he spoke his words, only one thought came to the spirit's mind.
He made unnecessarily long posts. He talked too much.
"No, Rei..." Fefga began. "You have qualerficationses, but... somebody who betrays a friendship is not somebody that can be trusted." She frowned. "You used to be such a good person.. but not anymore. The barrier almost thought to kick you out. You do not see the good in things or in peoples. Your thoughts are filled with arrogance. You are not as powerful as you think you are, far from it, in fact. You flaunt your pride by sharing your deeds. ...But you forget the deeds of others. This is not a group of one. You are not able to act in what is best for the group. That is why the one who leads will be one who does not seek to."

Amelia blinked, turning to face Abel. "L-Lead the--What?" She took a little step away from him, shaking her head. "I... I can't! I mean, Abel, I'm a General, but... But I've never lead people! And... and I have Aisen, and--"
And then Rei spoke up. She turned to face her friend, and though she couldn't help but feel a small pang of regret at his instant agreement with her statements--not even an argument towards her effectiveness as a leader?--she was relieved to see him speak up. He was a jerk sometimes, no denying it. But he was smart, at least. And he would back her up when need be.
She couldn't help but move over to where Rei was and give him a one-armed hug, even as Fefga watched the Druid in concern. He would not lead, apparently. "But... but if Abel isn't going to lead, and Rei isn't, then... who will?" Amelia ran her hand through her hair again, moving rapidly over to where her husband was and giving him a tight hug, giving him a brief summary of what had happened before turning back to the living room.
"Fefga. If you know who's supposed to be leading this, then tell us. Please." Amelia wrapped an arm around Rhys' middle. "Because if we're going to plan, we need to know who's heading the entire thing." {Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... "My-my name is C-Clara Ri-Risna." She said as best she could, though as stated before, she was scared. "I just want to know, what's going on h-here!?" She didn't know anyone in the room. Ignis Draconis sum. Thema fabulae, thema apologi.c** igne sacrō, Flametongue, (prō amicīs pugnō) prō pace volō. Miliibus annīs supervivē, cicatricēs temporis possideō. Mirate corpus meum, pinnās meās, ignem meum! Fire Dragon Fefga appeared. That spirit that was half of a crazy-specatular, dangerous laser show a year ago against Loki's handiwork. And with her arrival, a sense of calm transcended upon everyone presence one way or another, it seemed. Her message was one of hope, but also one of risk, of danger, FD acknowledged. Starting a resistance group? Well, if that's what it took to stop the executions, and to get his nephew out of Grand Prison, it was a possibility.
And then Rhys came down, Aisen with him, asking what had happened with the trials. "Here's the summary," FD started. "Rogvald sentenced Roy, Blossom, Lance, and a mage named Derrin to the asylum, which he's calling the Grand Prison now for war crimes. Rei, Abel, and... Nils, who denounced his crew status, have been banished from Eyris over the Asami incident of all things, and Rath and Vaida are going to be... executed at the end of the month." Executed and banished. The impact of those sentences still resonated strongly. "So I guess you're going to have some extra house guests around until further notice. Myself included as long as Nils can't go home."
"Anyway, Fefga has since arrived as you can see, and apparently the people sentenced to the asylum will be transported there in a few days. Fefga says we can intervene, but we'll have to quit the guild first."
"And as far as organizing that group goes, Abel suggested Amelia be the leader, and Rei thinks he should be the leader."
At this point, FD went from speaking directly to Rhys to everyone present in general. "Personally, I think the Host Club should be the head of it, with you at the front, Rhys. We've got five out of six members present, and it wouldn't be the first time we acted as a resistance group against the people in power." FD recalled the October two years ago when the Host Club organized themselves against Madrianna and the morphs. The results weren't exactly what one would have wanted, but that was the past. Besides, there were a lot more people among them this time - not just the Host Club - and they'd all become stronger since then.
"Not that anyone doubts your experience, Rei, but having a Saint as our figurehead, or maybe Fefga, would make more Learanians sympathetic to our cause. Especially since Rhys is considered a hero for saving King James at the inauguration party. Think about it: people will be a lot less likely to think we're going against the entire government itself if we're led by someone who went out of their way to preserve the King's life. That could really help us out in the scheme of things."

The assassin had not left yet the manor, wanting to meet the people within. Volke had heard that the people that resided here were also from other worlds, so he may know someone. As the masked man watched everyone leave the room, he noticed a mercenary get chewed out by a young girl. What is this "nomad grass" they're speaking of? I want some.. Before the man could ask, however, the doors burst open and some powerful figure appeared.
Volke retreated back to the shadows and observed all the people. Hoping not to be seen, the fireman attempted to escape before anything bad happened.

Wil fell upon a conversation that happened to be taking place. He listened for a short while. 'Resistance eh?' Wil walked out and put his hand on his head. "Uh sorry to interrupt yer conversation. But I've heard enough about this um... Rogvald? Anyways." Wil lowered his voice. "I overheard you guys talking about breaking your buddies out of prison. I may be new but I got's here a pretty detailed map." Wil held up his map. "And if you guys can tell me where there going I could probably help you all get your friends back."
Wil looked at everyone. "I am not a guild member, but I know my way around a bow. And since I've been living alone outside for.... well forever. I know my way around most of Learania, Aldania, and Estarcia." Wil looked at the spirit. "I take it your Fefga, from your.... Ethereal appearance? Well, I just want to offer my services as best I can to your cause."
Wil looked around the room again. "Hopefully, you guys will help me settle down too. It gets really lonely out in the fields." Wil looked at all the semi-sad faces from the loss of many close friends. "I don't want any of you to lose anyone else. And it seems that may just happen if we let things continue on like they are."
