"I agree." Rai says calmly. "The sad thing about this is that I had asked him to help me... Instead he took my touch. I have since learned a few tricks to help me. Like for the most part my body is made of these threads. That was my own doing after getting into a fight and loosing the arms. I notice that you are worried about many things and dont worry I have many different things that have helped me in return but the initail inability to feel. That about sent me over the edge." Rai says calmly looking at her explaining that he did not have blood flowing through his veins. "I have in a way become a metal Chaos if you will. I have a lot of things different now but suffice it to say my own ways have seem lost to me. I do however think that I have some one that will help us. I just need some help." Rai says calmly thinking about his favorite student.

Rai looks calm as though nothing had happened to him. He had in fact not had any problems 'feeling' the knife pluge into his flesh. "I have learned to 'feel' since then but the feeling has never been the same. It allows me to be a lot more dangerous but at the draw back of any semblance of a normal life. That is why I try so hard at being a kind type of man. Though I have to wonder about the sanctity of my mind. If I cant feel anything and I have to admit due to that I feel very little in the way of emotions towards others what kind of person does this make me?" Rai asks a small sound of sadness in his voice. "And now that you know this what does that make you think of me? I have been tasked with protecting you and your child but... If I cant feel anything does this not make me a problem for you?" Rai asks.

"As for the person I have in mind his name is Evan Umera and I will need to find out if I can get him here. He is the closest friend I have ever had and I must admit he is my greatest experiment... My hands are every bit as dirty as Chaos' but I try to keep it in my head that people are more than weaklings to me... Besides this I must admit that I have been able to protect my sisters progeny due to this and thus protect the rebirth of the Meronan clan. I have watched the clan prosper and is just now ready to come out of hiding..." Rai says a small smile playing at his lips. He turns and looks at the clone with his eyes. "I wonder if I should destroy that." Rai mutters thinking aloud without noticing that he is or that anyone could hear him.

As Rai explained to Midori about why he didn't have blood she understood how he had been able to live so long. His body was far more artificial then she had ininitally thought when he had first revealed the threads.

When he compared himself to Chaos except made of metal instead of vines, Midori frowned slightly. True on a physical level they where similar but at the same time they way she felt in their precence was very different and she was having a hard time putting her finger onto the way.

"If you need help you know you've got my full support." She told him. As he revealed how he tried to be a kind type of person she realized why she felt so different about him then Chaos despite their similarities.

"How do I feel about you? For some reason I trust you in a way I have few others despite the fact I know this to be foolish. The fact that you TRY to feel, that you TRY to be kind is enough." She proclaimed, feeling like she could relate on at least some level due to her own upbringing. During missions Sometimes she became so detached from her own emotions that it was a wonder she could still feel anything for others at all, and hadn't become a heartless, soulless killing machine.

Midori hadn't heard of Evan Umera but she perked up when she heard the name of the Meronan clan. She had heard that name mentioned before, heard wispers and mumors of legends past. No concrete details... just that they where supposedly strong and extinct. But if what Rai said was true then the tales of their extermination had been greatly exaggerated

"I had enough blood on my hands to make the average serial killer look like a saint. No ninja has ever reached great strength with a clean slate. What we've done in the past does not have to define us, but what we do in the future will." She said trying to cheer him up.

Hearing Rai mutter about destroying something she realized he was likely talking about the clone that was approaching them. "To be honest I was thinking the same myself. It can't hear us but if it gets close enough it might be able to read our lips... Perhaps I should crystallize the soul shard inside of it to prevent it from passing any information on.." She offered.

Rai looks at midori a little uneasy when he notices the reaction to the name of the Meronan clan. "I really dont meant to pry but what all have you learned about the Meronan clan. I have tried to keep up the pretenses that it died out a long time ago. I know for the longest time that I kept mentioning to people that I was the last of the Meronan never mentioning that My sister had reproduce heirs to the Meronan name." Rai says his voice soft and low, the most dangerous he got. He had learned a long time ago that the people who were the ones to shout were more than likely weaklings that did not merit the attention that the yells brought. But the people who were quiet and talked soft... well it was always better to keep them in mind when anything went down.

Rai looks over at the clone and smiles. "Maybe you better freeze that soul fragment. It would be troublesome to have to kill Flagenza so soon after meeting him... not to mention it would more than likely put a slight pall to the meeting here. I must admit though that he is a interesting person." Rai states in a slightly louder voice than before. Rai in truth was itching for a fight... it was one of the things he had long wanted, to test his ability against others. Who knew maybe someone here would be able to teach him something new in ways of jutsu.

When Rai asked her how much she knew about the Meronan clan Midori instantly recognized the shift in his mood from how he had spoken. What little warmth that had previously been in his voice had vanished, and the way he had spoken so soft and low reminded her of how she talked when she was at her most angry and dangerous. The moments before shuriken and boomerangs went flying.

Reacting quickly Midori casually waved her left hand from side to side in gesture commonly used to reassure. "Really, I don't know much besides the name itself." She said speaking honestly. "The scrolls I read in the village archive where mostly decades and centuries old. The details on their power where so vague that it could cover any range of generic ninja and the more recent mentions all considered them to be extinct. A relic from the past that would never be seen again and what a shame that was because they would have made for valuable allies." she told him.

When Rai said that maybe she really should freeze the soul fragment Midori nodded. "Alright. I'll be back in a bit." She said her form bluring as she body flickered from her standing position inside the barrier to directly infront of the clone.

"Sorry about this, but if it's any consolation It won't hurt a bit." She said to it only speaking since this was Flagenza and not an enemy. Moving with lightning quick precision her right hand thrust out towards his chest. Her fingertips glowing with white chakra as she attempted to strike the clone.

If successfully her hand would seem to sink inside of it and she would snatched onto the soul fragment grasping it with her hand crystallizing it with her touch and then pulling it out a split second before the clone would disintegrate into puffs of smoke.

Rai stopped and stared at Midori for a bit after hearing her talk about the Meronan clan and just smiles. He had done his job well and had protected the clan. So maybe the cost of his touch was not that high of a price after all to give up so that he could protect the family that he had left. Thinking about this made Rai come to a shocking discovery to himself... Midori reminded him of his sister. Rai knows now why he will do almost anything to protect her.

Rai waits for Midori to get back after her burst of speed which Rai follows with his eyes. Rai notices that she is showing compassion to Flagenza even as she attacks him. Rai does not think that He will get away from that attack. Rai will wait til she gets back before continuing the conversation.

"You know you remind me of my sister..." Rai says calmly. "I have some very fond memories of her and I when I was barely in my teens... Her name was Yuna. Did you know that when I would leave to go on missions that she would wait in my room. And whenever I would get back she would be there waiting to 'fix all of my hurts.'" Rai says as he smiles at her. "She was what the three that killed my father used to force me into working for them. They said that if I did not she would be killed and that would be the end of that." Rai says as he fishes out a scroll and moves to hand it to her. "This scroll tells the truth of what happened when the Meronan clan was wiped out... Please take good care of it as it was wrote by my sister."

Flagenza's shadow clone try'd to react raising his hand as he realized Midori was warning him of something. sadly he was not able to make a hand sign and escape using the devil jutsu before Midori's hand plunged into him. the shadow clone poofed out of existence.

The real Flagenza felt the shadow clone be destroyed. He didn't react, he had made the clone look different than him on purpose, To the uneducated lower level ninja of the village and any aggressive village they could be other ninja or various other explanations. Put simply Flagenza was both tired and bored. somehow this all made sense to him.

The bandaged form had been destroyed and none of his memories had returned meaning someone had strategically removed him. Flagenza decided it was like Midori, and the conversation that she had separated her and Rai for was far more important than Flagenza had thought.

Flagenza gulped, he had for a moment thought to make them kamikaze clone's as a defensive measure.

the other clone sat and watched the chickens, all now preparing to launch lightning bolts at the small dragon. they surrounded him in a semi circle before all 7 releasing bolts.

Midori glanced down at the crystalized soul shard in her hand, trying to analyze it's indigo depths. One of the most powerful parts of her bloodline was the ability to read spirits and she had stolen more then a few secrets from the dead in her time. After a few seconds of absorbing what little information was contained in the shard she nodded in satisfaction.

"It knew nothing." She told Rai as she pocketed the crystal which she would return to it's owner later after they where finished their high level conversation.

"Your sister...she sounds very devoted." replied Midori. "The type of people that used her against you.... Those are the types I prefer to kill most of all."

When Rai handed her a scroll Midori took it reverently handling it with care. She could tell just by looking at it that it was very old just by looking at it, and touching it only confirmed it's fragile status.

"Historically speaking this is one of the most valuble scrolls I've ever seen. I'm almost afraid to read it." She said frowning slightly. As a Master sealer she had spent alot of time with scrolls and knew this one had been well preserved, but even so it was old enough that simply opening it and exposing it to fresh air and light could potentially damage it in any number of ways from causing the ink to fade or the paper to simply disintegrate.

"I'm going to need to read this under controlled conditions to avoid further deterioration. With your permission I'd like to preform a Status lock seal on it to prevent it from being further ravaged by time. It won't restore it to pristine condition but as long as you look after it it would be able to last practically forever." She offered him.

"Go ahead and keep it." Rai says looking at it with a small smile on his face. "My sister had kept it very well preserved and Had hidden it in a place where my lava had not gotten to it when I had destroyed the village in which we had grown up at." Rai says as he looks at the scroll. Rai knew round about what the scroll said as he had read it for years at a time. He also Knew that Midori would soon find out that his sister had used a special jutsu on the writting in it. It would only allow a Meronan to read it unless given by a Meronan to a non Meronan. Rai's sister had actually been a very good sealing ninja... That sort of went hand in hand with her medical ninjutsu training. Rai had not even know how good until he had read the whole scroll and then noticed that the top of the scroll as he got to the bottom of the page had started to rewrite itself to hold more secrets. It was one of a few things that he had of his sister and so Rai wanted to give it to someone who would be able to keep it safe and keep the secrets that it held safe as well.

Rai turns and looks down at the shard in her hands, and while he did not have a bloodline limit to help him read the shard he found what he was looking for. Rai had been using soul jutsu's longer than most people had been alive so that he was innately used to the way to read souls... though he had never thought to use the soul fragments of a shadow clone. "Flagenza seems to have been stronger than I though he was. I took him for a genin or Chunin at most but the strength of the soul fragment seems to make it unlikely that he was as weak as that." Rai says impressed at Flagenza's way of hiding his true strength.

Rai looks at Midori and looks up questioningly at her. "I dont know why but I have never liked Shadow clones... I think they are nothing but a waste of Chakra." Rai says waiting to see her reaction to this. Most people enjoy the Shadow clone jutsu as it allow many different things to allow people to escape from their own current predicament. That would make Rai different in this fact.

the chick being pounced on turned black as he took on the earth element and spewed earth all around himself turning himself into a small boulder as puff came down on top of him. The others all hopped around behind and began barraging the now much larger Puff with lightning bolts.

the shadow clone of Flagenza prepared to intervene. clenching his fists lightly.

maverick also decided to pay attention again. charging up a much larger lightning bolt than the others could muster.

Puff started to knaw ont he boulder lightly somewhat playfully when the the lightning bolts started hitting him.

Puff got annoyed quickly swinginround to defend himself while aiming to swat the the boulder chick to the side with his tail.

Puff let out a billowing flame turning his head so as to fend off all the chicks with the arching flame.

(Has haruko been back yet? both me and flagenza don't want o leave the rp conversation we're having with her in the dust but there like three other characters here we could interact with? i feel bad..... or is it awkward i feel)

"I'll be sure to treasure it." replied Midori as she settled for casting a simple item protection jutsu on the scroll so that she could open it and get an initial idea of what it said. Slowly rolling it open she was puzzled to see that it was completely blank, but before she could question Rai about this words started to appear near the top almost as if they where writing themselves into existence.

"This is quite some high level seal work. Scrolls like this are pretty rare since few are skilled enough with weaving the type of seals necessary to produce them. Your sister must have been quite an exceptional person." Midori complemented.

She nodded in agreement at Rai's assement of Flagenza. "He likes to play the fool but he's not. I have to be careful at times since his act can be quite convincing. His strength will make him a useful ally in the battles to come." She replied giving out rare praise since she usually played along with the act.

She sighed as Rai mentioned the shadow justu then replied with a detailed analysis "When used tactically I could see how they can be useful for gathering information but it would take someone with an insane chakra capacity to be of any use in battle since most people can't make more then a couple with out exhausting themselves. Frankly as far as I'm concerned it's never a good idea to deliberately divide your energy into something so incredibly fragile. Too easy to lose your investment as it where. Even If I COULD use Shadow clones I wouldn't bother with them in a fight" She stated firmly.

"My sister was a very exceptional person." Rai says calmly. He looks around to clear his head and shake off any emotion that is in his eyes. After a few moments he looks back at Midori. Rai has come to respect and even like her but he knows what it is that he has to do. And due to that he will not fail her like he did his sister.

Rai listens to her talking about Flagenza with much interest. "I could see using him in this group to take Chaos down but I still dont like the Idea of Falta... She would try to take control I believe and I am unsure if it is wise to have siblings on a team where one might die... I believe that would take the mind or thoughts of the other one... and they would both need to be focused." Rai says stating what he believes to be fact. Though Rai's next statement carries with it a very big surprise to him. "You cant use Shadow clones? Why?"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 29, 2010 11:18 am

The way Rai talked about his Sister was enough for Midori to almost swear his voice was warmer when he mentioned her. It was a good sign that he did in fact have feelings and was not a psychopath like Chaos at all.

"I think you're right. Besides I haven't work with Falta long enough to build the type of bond that would be required for this situation where I've done missions with Flagenza before. If it came to it I think I could trust him to follow me to hell and back... I'm not sure Falta is quite ready to do the same." She mused.

Hearing Rai's suprise about her not being able to use Shadow clones caused Midori to laugh. The sound carrying a slight twinge of bitterness to it. "It's part of the price I pay for my bloodline limit. You see it's not the type to come around naturally. Humans don't just up and evolve to become more like birds on their own..." She paused and sighed.

"The origin of many bloodlines is forged by making a pact with a powerful outside source. One of the most common is with the beings we usually refer to as demons, or at least the more powerful ones anyhow, but demons are far from the only thing you can make a pact with. My clan made a pact with Death itself.... I know it sounds silly to think they called up an abstract and fundamental part of the universe but they did. Most people think that abstracts have little need for us, but they would be wrong. They are abstracts for a reason and while powerful they usually can not act directly on this plane of existence. That is unless they have a conduit for their power to act through. An avatar if you will. Death helped to modify our genetic code and in return and in return it gets one of us from time to time to use... Right now that would be me." Midori explained.

"To make a shadow clone one cuts a fragment from their soul and inserts it into a mass of chakra. That fragment acts as the control, giving it the ability to think independently on the intentions you had when you formed it. When the clone is dismissed or destroyed that fragment is usually returned to it's owner carrying with it the memories and the experiences it has gained. One could say in a way that the Shadow clone is the ultimate multitasking jutsu. But as an avatar my soul is more unique then most and can not be fragmented in any way shape or forum." Or at least that was her theory on how shadow clones worked anyhow and why she couldn't use them.

Raistlyn chuckles slightly as he listens to Midori's tale of why she is alive. "Well now that is interesting. My own clan was given a powerful weapon that was separated between the two best sword fighters in the clan for fear of it. It was said that when the gods first were born that there was created a weapon so powerful that it would be able to kill anything that lived. Now I don't know if that was true or not but I do know that the weapon was also supposed to be broken into two different pieces. Each piece was to be fully functional and over time the pieces passed down the line to me." Rai says as he unsheathes his swords. Rai holds them one in each hand.

Rai holds the one in his left hand the blade to this one is black with silver edge to it and looks like it is pulsing with death itself. This blade just feels wrong. "This sword is called the Hells Reaper and those who wield it that are of the Meronan clan are called the Hell Reapers or the Reaper with the red eyes." Rai says as he move to hold the other blade out.

The blade in his right hand is pure white with a deep golden edge to the blade itself. This blade feels like it is angry and vengeful. Rai holds it out and then starts to talk. "This blade is called the Heavens Wrath." Rai says as he looks past the blade at her. "This is supposed to be the other side to the Hells Reaper blade. Those of us who have ever wielded this blade has been called the Wrathful Fire Bearers." Rai says calmly as he pushes the two blades together.

There is a small flash of power and light and then the blades look like they were never apart. The blade is smaller and more compact and has a darkish-red tinge to it. This blade almost seems to scream with power and anger wanting to deliver bloody death to all in Rai's way. "This is called the Ultimate Retribution. This is the last weapon of the Meronan clan and one that supposedly to the stories that the gods themselves fear. I have only ever used this weapon once and I know that it has a huge kick to it. Though there is a requirement to using it." Rai says as he sheaths the weapon before him. "Those of us who have used this weapon must know that there is a cost. The people able to use this weapon must have Forsaken Chakra... and have killed at least one family member..." Rai says while keeping the very final piece of information on what is paid by the use of the sword.
