Akela let out a surprised yelp and jumped away from the two adults figuring it was safe a little ways back.
Aegle gasped slightly startled and shoved her feet against Leo to try and flip him.

Leo's dead weight was something Aegle would have a hard time moving without momentum to help help her. This was how he managed to remain unflipped, and also end up laying on Aegle's tail, thus pinning it to the ground.

Aegle tryed to pull out from under Leo kicking and pushing on him not realizing her tail was pinned. She found out quickly as she let out a yelp cause it hurt.

Leo grinned, looking quite smug. This was a tally for his side, though doubtless Aegle would get him back for that another day.

Aegle growled and bit Leo's throat and started to naw on it.She wasnt going to give up that easily

Leo tucked his head so he could grab a mouthful of Aegle's scruff, then threw himself sideways. The couple rolled, and landed with a splash in the river.

Aegle held onto Leo as they went tumbling into the water. She began to pull on his ear.
Akela ran to the edge of the river eyes wide as she had just watched both adults fall over. She felt they were acting like kits but wasnt sure how well they could swim in a semi-fast moving river.

Leo released Aegle and lazily made for the surface. By proxy he was pulling his mate up as well, since she had a firm grip on his ear. He broke the surface and took in a breath of the clean air, and noted his surroundings.
The river had a current, but not one so fast that they had traveled far from their original entering point. Which was good, because Leo got very nervous seeing Akela just standing on her own, and quite close to the riverbank.

Aegle broke the surface the same time Leo did. Taking small deep breaths and tread water. She noticed Akela was close to the edge and she couldnt swim as of just yet. She yelled out to Akela to step back.
Akela had been watching the water and hadn't noticed the adults pop up. The water was crashing on to the rock making it slippery. When Aegel yelled to her she looked up and accidentally slipped falling fast first into the water.

Leo had already been making his way to the shore when Akela feel in the water. The current wasn't dangerous, but it had just enough pull that new kit wouldn't be able to navigate and keep their head above water at the same time.
His feet were already on the shore. Rather than jump in and lose time by fighting the water swimming, Leo ran forward until he reached the proper place. Just under the surface he could see the wiggling blob of white and purple fur.
He dove under, thanking luck and whatever else involved that he had been practicing his swimming, and that the water here was so clear. It took only a moment to get under Akela. A quick n** and he had her firmly by the scruff.
Leo pumped his legs hard to reach the surface. As soon as they broke through the water to air he realized that this was a very different kind of swimming. Keeping his head tilted back so that his precious bundle was as far out of the water as he could make her, Leo tried to content his lung with air pulled in through his nose. He dared not open his mouth, lest the water pull the kit from him.
Using a brief glance to confirm his position, the green male struck out for the shore. Had the circumstances been less dire, the fashion in which he was swimming out have seemed quite comical; head in the air and thrown back, chest slightly puffed out, front legs splashing about on the surface.

Aegle hadn't made it to shore when Leo dived back in. She was going to go after Akela when Leo popped up with her in his mouth. She let out a little sigh of relief and finished swimming to shore where she paced up and down waiting for them to come.
As soon as Akela hit the water the wind had been knocked out of her. The little current that was going tossed her small body around making her disorinated. Than suddenly something grabbed her and pulled her in what direction she didn't have a clue. When she broke the surface she realized that she was being pulled up. She coughed and spit water out and noticed Leo had her.

Leo made it to shore a good ten feet from where Aegle had landed. He didn't set his sodden bundle down until he was several feet away from the water edge. He gently lowered her on the springy grass, hoping he hadn't hurt her; he wasn't exactly accustomed to holding kits.
"There ya go. Just breathe, get some air back in your lungs."

Akela nodded and took deep breaths while sitting there shivering in shock. She so didnt want to re live that any time soon.
Aegle quickly came over and started checking on Akela. She was ready to freak cause she was worrying so bad. "Are you ok dear?" she asked multiple times.

Leo had moved off a little ways in the forest when Aegle came over to preform her inspection. Part of it was to give his mate the room to look over her kit, the other part to shake out what felt like pounds of water from his coat without soaking the girls any more than they already were.
He returned, fur damp and sticking out at all angles. He could relate to what Akela was going through, though he had been fully grown and a lot stronger when he first fell in a body of water.
"She'll be fine," Leo said, exerting an aura of calm. He studied the shivering bundle of wet fur, then lowered his head and pushed her a few inches over into a beam of sunlight shining through the treetops. He ran his tongue over her until he got her fur sticking up like his. With the warm sunlight and slight breeze combined it would help Akela to dry faster than if her fur laid plastered to her body. Grooming would also help get the blood flowing to warm her up.

Aegle joined in on the grooming to help her little girl. She nodded her understanding to Leo.
Akela let the adults move her around. She didnt even complain as the groomed her as she normally would.
