No wonder she was so damned nervous when he first took her. Having men do that would easily make her terrified of him. His smile dropped, running over the list she recited. "You also said run. What is that about?"

His facade was gone, full cold demeanor set. Zane didn't care about Nell's right to privacy, nor did he respect it at this point. Did she honestly compare him to previous situations? How rude. His near crimson irises held a scrutinizing and offended gaze, as he calmly proceeded to move his arm holding the tea cup to his lips.

"No one enters the rose maze without my consent. You may fly through there and do whatever you need to with those wings."

"Honestly, I wouldn't do anything to hurt you or anyone. I can get my sister on the phone, if you'd like." Erm... maybe that's not the best person for her to talk to. "Or I can get Cassandra, if Erik will let her on, if you'd like? No one has any had any..." what's the word for it? "I've never abused anyone in this household or out of it. Unless they're a guy and insulting my sister or friends... or my brother, then they might get a little shove. But other then that'd I'd never hurt a girl."
He finally figured that was the problem, so he let his hand off her shoulder and he sat back in his seat on the other side of the table, facing her. She still looked pretty stiff, so he didn't believe her when she said that what ever it was was nothing

She flinched, inner scars coming out. She figured he was cold, but not cruel. "Do you have any dogs, or animals that chase?" she asked curiously, before giving him what she meant by 'run'. Nell wasn't smart, but she wasn't exactly stupid either. She wasn't putting any ideas in his head if she didn't have to.

"Okay. Thank you. As for painting your kitchen, you have slate marble but red decorations in your kitchen. I can do a light gray, or I can get a very light tan, an almost burlywood colour." She'd leave it up to him, anything to get his mind off the previous question.

Her comments were guarded, which meant again, she was hiding something. No matter, it would come out soon. "I don't really have a thing for animals. There is a snake in my quarters, but it is usually harmless."

"Do what you wish in the kitchen, just make it less plain. We can always change the marble and decorations if you'd prefer different colours. After all, you will be in there a lot." Setting his cup down quietly, Zane sat stiffly, glancing down at Nell. She had barely eaten or drank anything, and was avoiding his questions and gaze at all costs.

"You're not the problem. I was just thinking of some trivial things!"Grinning at him, not at all wanting to speak to another about slavery unless it was a slave, the blonde sipped her drink merrily. Over her thoughts quick, Mona decided to venture.

"Hey, any chance of your theater room having video games? I haven't played on in ever!" Standing, the Sylph glanced down at him, her eyes lighting up like a child's on Christmas. Video games could make any of her days better. Her tone was chipper and optimistic, hoping he at least had one.

"Oh, okay. Snakes are harmless to me. Actually, I rather love them. I used to have a pigme boa, but you probably don't much care about that... And alright. I actually love you kitchen as it is right now, red fits it very well and the slate marble is beautiful with it all. I mostly love the fact on how you don't have any stainless steal in there, other then pans. Stainless steal fridges and ovens are terrible to work with. What do you like to eat and how do you like it prepared?" One of her favourite things to do was cooking, and she had a very good memory for how he would like things prepared. She would have to test out temperatures before he wanted anything to eat, though, so she could know what to set when and how.

Terrance nodded, cleaning off the table and putting plastic wrap over the food, placing it in the fridge. "You know what? I do. My sister gifted me hers a while ago and her few games. I have the 360, PS3, and a wii. The games, however, aren't very good. It's pretty late now, but how about tomorrow we go out and get you some games you like, yes?"

Nodding, he doubted she'd ever meet the creature. Zane didn't like many people meeting his most precious treasure. But now this girl was ranting on food, still managing to avoid his gaze. Not everyone was able to do so. Zane respected that, but she was still a slave in his eyes. "Surprise me. Try not to make anything too sugary." Testing waters or not, he wanted to see what she could do, and would grade things. It was like a game to him, and he wasn't going to let Nell win so easily.

"Oh?" she said curiously. "Are you always so trusting with your attendents? Considering I'm your first slave here. Why did you get me? Well, not me specifically, but a slave. Why? If you can have all the attendants you want."
Hmm... so nothing too sugary. Diabetic? Maybe. I don't much care for sugar either. And I hope he's not a salt guy, that stuff is just neh. But what to make? He'll be hard to impress... she ran the possiblities though her head as she waited for his answer.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 09, 2010 12:51 pm

Zane shook his head, tucking some long strands that fell out of the ponytail behind his ear. "I don't have any personal attendants. They work for my parents and are trusted to do my parents' jobs. They do not speak to me unless I speak first. As for why I got you..."

He trailed off with a smirk, shaking his head yet again. Zane wasn't able to have all the attendants he wanted. They were his parents', and would only work for him under their orders. Not to mention, they didn't speak his language, and were very annoyed with his attitude.

"I got you because I hate the help around here. They do their jobs sufficiently, but are quite rude. Plus, I need a personal assistant who will obey my orders, so searching for an actual person was out of the question. Besides, I'm rewarding you generously, so I doubt you'll try to kill me."

Nell listened with slight interest as Zane explained himself.
So you basically bought me so you could have a person already scarred and scared shitless enough to not betray you. Wonderful. But what he said was true, she wouldn't try to kill him. She probably could if she really, really wanted to, but she wouldn't. He took her collar off, that was the most freedom she'd ever had other then when she was 'walking dogs.'

"Okay. So then why did you pick me specifically?" she asked as another question popped into her head. "There were normal humans in there, and yet you got the freak with black wings."

"I haven't played many games, but sure! I'm up for the wii games though. Bet I'll beat you in the sports area. I'm quite athletic believe it or not,"Proudly grinning at him, Romona couldn't wait. "But, I'm taking you to a mall sooner or later. You need more colour to bring out your eyes." It was true. He had bright green eyes that really stood out, but in all neutral colours, they dulled them. And, as a fan of good fashion, she would definitely take over in that department.

"I thought the wings were beautiful, besides, did you really deserve to be in there? Would you prefer I take you back and give all these priviledges to another who would bore me?"

Smiling sweetly, Zane the master of the girl before him went over to a nearby window. The sky was darkening, and time was passing by quite late. By now, she should have been shown to her room and given a brief tour of the mansion, but the tour could wait until she started work the next day. Her collar still rested in his pocket, but wasn't visible

Terrance twitched a little when she brought up his sense of clothes. What was wrong with his clothes? He liked them just fine. They made him look regal, mature. Something he thought he lacked most the time.
"Anyway, I have the mario-kart, Super mario bros, mario sunshine, super sonic something or other, the wii fit, and the wii sports. And I play on pro for boxing and golf, so just try me." he winked at her and got up from where he sat.
She wanted a game? Then they'd play a game. Though, she probably would win, he didn't play often.

Nell forced herself to not scoff. Did she deserve to be in there? Well she was a slave, of course she did. "I deserve to be where ever my master wants me to be." she said under her breath.
"The feathers are beautiful, you mean. My wings themselves are a sin." least that's how everyone else saw them. The only one to ever love her wings was no one but herself. "I am greatful for what you have offered to me. And I will be loyal to you until you are either no longer in need of me or are bored with me." Nell stopped, sounding like she was going to go on with what she was saying. Instead, she thought it better to not say what she wanted. Getting up, she took the plater of half gone sandwiches into the kitchen, putting plastic wrap over them and placing them in an empty spot in the fridge. Walking back out and taking their cups, she carefully transported them into the sink. When she was through with wiping off the table and washing her hands, she stood three feet behind her new master.
"Is there anything else you need?"
