The young child let out a squeel of glee before she was dunked fully in the water, she holding her breath and squirming in her uncle's hold. She was having far too much fun, and they had only just gotten there. She did so adore her uncle. She fought her way to the surface and spit out some water, she giggling. "No more dunking no more!!!" She laughed, her eyes going the other other kittens that were wandering about the park, they needed to come and play.
The female smiled up at the waitress, she nodding and looking to Ishmael, she was uncertain if he was ready, but she was, not that she would be eating much. "a...salad...please...and...a ham and turkey sandwich?" She had to admit, even to her it seemed like little, but she was not a big eater.

"Is that really all my niece can handle?" Polaris teased. "I seem to recall so many threats of dunking me, I can't imagine that any niece of mine would be ready to call it quits just because her paws got wet!" With a grin, he dropped into the water again, soaking them both a second time. Then he started making his way back towards the shore, done teasing Cassie for now.
Jair spotted the pair playing in the water, recognizing his father's friend Polaris. The baby baddie's face broke into a wide grin, and he ran over to a nearby patch of water reeds, diving into the water where they couldn't see him. He started to swim towards them, staying below the surface. He figured that, busy playing with each other, they'd never notice him before it was too late.
Ishmael ordered as well - a reuben sandwich, and a bowl of chili - and then went back to watching the faefox across from him. He could see why Polaris wanted to get her out and socializing. He didn't think she was ready for another relationship, even if they had connected - and he really didn't feel like they would, not on that level. But he'd gladly be a friend to her, and not only for Polaris. She really does need someone, he thought to himself, a pensive frown stealing across his face.

The little kitten giggled an squirmed under the water, she kicking and getting away, she watching her uncle as he moved towards the shore, she catching him off guard and leaping onto his back, trying to dunk him. "I will dunk you!! I said I would!!!" She laughed.
Solstice sighed and looked to him, she feeling more than abit terrible for her inability to hold a conversation. "I am sorry, Ishmael...I really do not know what else to say. I...well it is not like I have had an exciting life to say the very least..." She chuckled weakly to herself. "i do fear that all my brother's hard work has been a waste of his time..."

"Oof!" Polaris carefully controlled his fall into the water, so that he wouldn't land on top of his niece. She had said she was going to dunk him, after all, and he wasn't about to disappoint her.
Jair had just gotten within striking distance when the pair landed in the water, and he saw the prefect opportunity. He quickly swam the last bit of the way, and then sank his teeth into the fox-kit's leg. Then he kicked up as much mud as he could and darted back away, hoping the confusion and pain would be enough to keep his relatives from seeing and recognizing him.
Solstice's words startled Ishmael out of his reverie, and for a moment he blinked at her in confusion, until he realized she was commenting on his expression. "Oh! I'm sorry, that's not what was on my mind. I actually was just thinking that your brother was right to draw you out like this." He gave her a gentle smile. "And I certainly don't mind spending some time with a pretty fae," he added with a teasing wink. "I don't mind a companionable silence, if that's what you'd prefer, or I suppose I could come up with some stories to tell you, of things I've done. If you're up to it, maybe after lunch we can do something that'll give you an interesting story to tell Polaris when we get back," he finished with an impish grin, daring her to take him up on his offer.

As Cassie went under she kicked and squirmed, she trying to get away from her uncle before she felt the bite on her leg, she near screaming under the water, taking alot of it in before trying to kicking for the surface, she a flailing mass of arms and a legs. As she surfaced she spat out the water, she letting out wails as the tears came. "B....bi...bit me...!" She sniffled.
The female blinked and looked at the male before her. He spoke of and adventure and that fact alone got her interest. "I do think...it might be fun to go and do something...I...feel as though I am a very boring being....at this moment...I....I mean what am I than an unmated mother and a recluse...?" She chuckled weakly to herself.

When Polaris heard his niece scream, he quickly stood back up, scooping her out of the water to keep her from swallowing any more. "Cassie!" He hurried back to the bank, setting her down on the ground and holding her as she coughed up the water. When he processed what she'd said, he started looking over her for bite marks. "Something bit you? Where?! There shouldn't be anything in the water..."
Jair swam back to the reeds, where he surfaced and looked over at the pair of foxes. He did his best to keep his sniggers quiet, to that no one would think to look in his hiding place. He wasn't completely hidden, but without some reason to look in the reeds, it was unlikely anyone would notice him, let alone connect him to his "prank".
Ishmael grinned. "Good, it's settled then! Hm... would you be up for a hike? There's a nice path just outside the town that leads a little ways up into the hills. At the end is a beautiful waterfall. It would take a couple hours to get there and back, but Polaris said he was taking care of your daughter for the day, so we should have plenty of time."

The young fox was in tears, she coughing between sobs as her uncle looked over her leg, the bite was angry, red under her fur, she feeling like her leg was throbbing. "It hurt...uncle...it hurt!" She pouted and whimpered as he touched around it. She had never been bitten by anything before.
She grinned at the man, he really was trying so hard to make her happy. She nodded and rested back in her seat. "I think my old legs can handle a hike. If I get tired will you carry me?" She all but giggled, abit of that flirty nature finally coming out in her voice and filling her eyes. She was slow to warm to a person, but when she did she could be a tease.

The bite hadn't broken the skin, so as much as it hurt there wasn't too much damage. Satisfied with that, Polaris pulled his niece onto his lap and cuddled her. "It's all right, Cass, I'm right here. I won't let any more mean bitey things hurt you."
At the way the fox kit was blubbering, Jair found it difficult to keep his laughter quiet, and the reeds he was hiding in shook from his attempts to muffle his howls of mirth.
Ishmael laughed, glad to see her opening up more. "I promise to carry you over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes," he replied with a teasing wink. "I'll cart you all the way up the mountain, and then roll you back down." Just then their food arrived, and he was hungry enough to be willing to let that distract him, not least so that they could more quickly go on that hike. He found that he was happily looking forward to it, that his friend's sister was good company and he was glad he'd let Polaris talk him into this.

Cassie was still crying, whimpering as her uncle looked her over, she looking off in the distance, seeing the plants rustling. "Uncle....the plants don't move by themselves...do they?" She was already growling, ready to attack whatever it was that was in the plants.
The woman laughed as he spoke, and had to all but stiffle a snort as he dug into his food. She grinning widely and shaking her head. "I will come home covered in bruises and my brother will think you beat me, Ishmael." She took a small bite of her food. "Not that it would not be fun to toy with him....let him think you did.." She winked.

Polaris followed her line of sight, and frowned in agreement. "It could be something swimming around in the water there, but it'd have to be something big... And I've never seen anything that big here before, except other faes. It's worth checking out." He rose, and stalked over to the reeds.
At this point Jair was too busy laughing to even notice the angry faefox coming his way.
"You're a rascal, you know that?" he replied between bites of food. "And thank you very much if I'd like to keep my fur on me. Your brother would tear me apart if he even thought I might have manhandled you. So if you make me do so, you better keep quiet about it when we get back!" He ended with a grin, teasing her back.

Cassie stood and carefully walked after her uncle. She gingering her leg and watching the ground beneath her to make sure there was nothing that could bite her again. "Whatever is there, it bited me..." She pouted and stood and watch him closely.
Solstice chuckled and gave him a grin. "Yes, well..I have been told so, I have also been called a b***h on occasion. I rather like your fur on you as well, Ishmael, I do not think that Polaris would look all the good with it as a cloak. Though..the blue would suit his coloring." She laughed.

Reaching the reeds, Polaris snatched the baby baddie out of them. He scowled as he recognized his friend Ishmael's son; since the park had been a spur-of-the-moment decision, it must be coincidence, but there was no doubt in the fox's mind who had brought Jair to the park - probably with the intention of him tormenting other young faes. His eyes scanned the park and found Ishmael's mother as the baby baddie squirmed, trying to bite him. Polaris simply shifted his grip, holding the young fae by the scruff of his neck where he couldn't reach anyone. And with that, the fox began to stalk over to Janan.
"Well, thanks, I think? As long as you're not convincing him to skin me, I guess I'm fine with teasing him a little."

Cassie watched him closely, she sneaking up closer bit by bit. Once she saw the small baby pulled from the reeds she blinked. "That bited me? Eww!!" She squirmed then, rolling on the grass and flailing. "I have boy germs!! Gross, I am going to die!!"
She giggled and nodded. "I will not let him skin you. You are his friend, I do not think he would do it anyway. My brother really is a big softy, if you didn't know that." She stretched. "Shall we then? leave some money, take off running. I don;t think skipping the bill to be the best thing, so you? Even if it might be exciting?"
