And...does anyone know about a Sam and Max dvd release coming out? I saw a few banner ads on various sites, but clicking on them just led me to stores that didn't load. They mention "Sam and Max Season 1", but I can't tell if they mean the old cartoon, or if just some online promotion thing. I'll definitely give a "Heck yeah!" if a dvd release is on the way!

Me again!

I've finally had time to look at the link I posted. Seems season 1 = episodic gaming.

I particularly like the Sam & Max merchandise that's now available though smile I want a DeSoto T-shirt!

Rumour also has it that you'll be able to get the original cartoon series from GameTap. I still want a DVD release!

Reviews of the episodic game I read were... critical.

Found a much less critical review:

Hey, Samwise (if you're there), have you completed Sam & Max Hit the Road yet?

DW

EDIT: On another note, TVshowsondvd.com have informed me that Universal is finally going to release "Alias Smith & Jones"! Hallelujah!!! *dances with glee and whistles the themetune*

Gareth (whom I believe you met last May) helped in this case, mind you.

Spidey? Good on him!

Back on topic, I've finally seen the five part pilot for DuckTales. What a great show, thoroughly enjoyed it. Too bad I forgot to bring the boxset with me when I came to my parents' house for Xmas, so I'll have to wait a week or so to see the rest of the DVD.

Still, I imagine there will be ways and means of occupying my time smile

I know I rarely have problems occupying mine.

In true movie marketing style, in theory the limited edition of the original Star Wars on DVD (e.g. Han shoots first, Hayden Christian does *not* appear on Endor) will disappear back into Fox's / Lucasfilm's vaults again at the end of this month.

I foolishly picked up the DVDs separately on the day they came out, but you can prosper from my mistake and get hold of the boxset at around £30. Can't guarantee how long this will last, of course. Plus, if you feel the need, you can also watch the messed about versions released in cinemas in 1997. Gods, I can't believe it was nearly 10 years ago I watched them in the cinema!

I got my "Alias Smith & Jones" boxset. It rocks smile They've even got commentary on the pilot from Glen Larson. Granted, I haven't actually listened to it yet, but still.

It has also reminded me who Richard Hammond has been reminding me of for the last few years: Pete Duel (aka Hannibal Heyes, aka Joshua Smith). He had the same boyish charm. Too bad he shot himself one New Year's Eve sad

Aw dang, the Special Edition versions were on there too? *didn't notice you said that til now x_x*
Those versions were actually the ones I watched when I finally saw the trilogy in its entirety. Gotta have my CGI dewbacks and sarlaccs! <.<
Not to mention I love the new ending music in Return of the Jedi.

But anyway...I ain't touching the re-rereleased versions. There's already too much of Hayden-Anakin as it is, WITHOUT him messin' up the final scene of the trilogy...

Annnnyway....enough of that ranting. ^^;;

Heck, there's already too many dvds to name that I need to get my hands on to name...And that's not even including the SatAM dvd coming out at the end of the month.

On that note...I really DO hope that it's still on schedule for the end of this month. The fact that the local Suncoast didn't have it registered to be pre-ordered yet has me a little worried.

Amazon & US Direct still list a release date of 27/03/07, although there's no sign on Playusa.com or DVD Concept. Fingers crossed!

You might still be able to get the boxset; I bet they didn't just release it for 3 months and then bury it - they only said they would smile Yeah, Hayden was one of the things I objected most to. And Han shoots first, thank you very much. He's a pirate, he's not going to let a bounty hunter *sitting 3 feet away from him* get the first shot in. And nor is a bounty hunter going to miss from that distance....

Another thing on my pre-order radar is the complete Count Duckula Season 2 biggrin Thank you, Cosgrove Hall! Now, can we also get Fantomcat?

Final DVD news from me so far: I finally bit the bullet and invested the princely sum of €20.99 (including shipping) in acquiring the complete "Les Mysterieuses Cites D'Or". Why the French title? Because only the French have it and apparently they didn't even bother with subtitles. Oh well, I understood most of Sonic X when that came out, so hopefully this will be OK....

Still, it's somewhat cheaper than this, which, since I can't read Japanese, I have no idea whether it has English subtitles - I suspect not.

With any luck, my finally succumbing to the French boxset will herald the announcement of an English-language version. After all, we've had Ulysses 31, Inspector Gadget and even Sonic is now on the list. DiC can't have much else left to sit on.

Must confess that I'm happy with the simple Creative Commons edition I downloaded. smile

What makes that edition worth getting?
