Yuki turned his head to look at Ixen. 'Oh god, what is he thinking? Probably that I am some weirdo.' His ears flipped, sighing under his breath. He dropped his kill by a tree he spotted, glancing at Ixen. "T-this seems like a good place." He mused, nibbling on his rabbit even though he was not hungry anymore. Right now, he was worried about how Ixen viewed him. Wait, when did that matter?! Who cares what Ixen thinks?! He didn't mean anything by it, did he? No! Of course not! No way did Yuki mean anything more by what he said!

Yes it's a fine spot. Ixen's mind was finally starting to connect the dots with Yuki's actions and the possible implications when Ixen dropped his own kill next to Yuki's and started to eat. Yuki was a fox with a crush! Even if he didn't realize it. Well it was unexpected Ixen didn't mind. It was odd but he found himself enjoying the idea of he and Yuki actually liking each other. What did that say about himself though, Ixen had to wonder.

Pulling his thoughts away from that topic Ixen realized that he had forgotten to say something and should say it or possibly face the risk of coming off as rude, clearing his throat Ixen tried to find some word. Thank you, for what you said before.. I know it doesn't seem like much to you probably, but it made a rather large impact on me. Sin choose me to be a carer because that's were my skill set seemed to lay. For a while I had to wonder he felt I wasn't good enough to be a hunter or skilled enough to be a tribe magician. After a while though I stopped wondering and just accepted the fact. Your words made me feel like my job is important... Like I'm important. Ixen went back to eating and kept his eyes focused on his meal so Yuki wouldn't see the tears welling up in his eyes.

((Oh no! Yuki is caught!))

Yuki looked up, shocked. Did Ixen feel like Sin had merely chosen him for that because he wasn't good enough? Carer was a important job, and Sin seemed to care for kits. Not just anyone could care for them. He nibbled on his food, sighing softly.

He knew Sin came off as cruel, and even a monster. But he had care for people that gave him the time and day, once in awhile. He knew Sin cared for the tribe. However, Ixen had been raised by Sin. Sin knew and trusted Ixen, didn't he? No wonder why he assigned Ixen as carer for kits, he knew their lives would be safe within his hands. He decided to voice these words for the other.

"You are important. You saved me. I was at the edge, and almost going to give up. You saved me." He smiled at Ixen once more, pausing. "Sin wouldn't assign anyone to caring for kits. He cares for kits, because they haven't been tainted yet. If you were assigned, he must trust their lives to you. You care for young lives, and he choose you to protect lives that can't protect themselves. You are important to the tribe, to Sin, to everyone."

Ixen’s ears stood up at this information. It was a perspective Ixen hadn’t thought of. Ixen’s mouth formed a silent ‘oh’. I hadn’t thought about that. Sin never told me why I should be a carer. He merely said that that’s where my skills lay so that’s what I would do for the tribe. I knew hunters are the tribe’s first line of defense and I’m not intimidating enough to be a hunter, so I thought Sin was ... well calling me a failure in his own way. The idea that Sin had actually given him a position of honor flattered Ixen. It also reminded him how little he truly knew about his adoptive father.

Shaking his head ruefully Ixen crossed his front legs before placing his head on them and looking up at Yuki. Here I am supposed to be teaching you how to deal with a mate, and not only do you cheer me up better than any other fox I know, but you also teach me something that I have had wrong in my head for years. It seems you’re a better teacher then I am. I’m glad I’ve been paired with you Yuki. Ixen’s fur hid his blush, but his eyes and body language said it all. He wanted nothing more then to kiss Yuki, but wasn't sure if he could handle the floodgate of emotions once he did.

Yuki had cheered someone up? His cheeks flushed lightly, looking away from Ixen. His eyes widened at the mention of Ixen being glad they were paired together, nodding softly. What did he feel? Glad? Upset? Angry? Confused? Well, he certainly felt confused. Ixen was something new to him. He had made Yuki smile several times. He had Yuki acting... like a kit with a crush. And, looking at him made his stomach flutter. Was he happy they were paired together? Could he dare admit it?

He turned his head very slightly, still facing away from Ixen but his eyes focused on the males paws. He made a soft sigh, paws digging into the ground. "I...am happy we are paired together, too." He mumbled back.

Ixen noticed what he thought could be a blush in Yuki’s cheeks before Yuki turned he head away. Yuki was so cute. When he heard Yuki’s soft statement Ixen was shocked. Of all of the things that he had ever expected Yuki to say that was certain not one of them. Ixen had figured out that Yuki was at least partially attracted to him, and Ixen felt certain that he liked Yuki as more than just a fellow fox.

Getting up Ixen wasn’t even really thinking. His body was simply acting on its own. He approached Yuki, and then flopped down by Yuki’s side brushing up close to him. Ixen found himself with his head on Yuki’s shoulders inhaling the sweet scent of lavender. He was by no means ruffled or disturbed by this and he hoped that Yuki wasn’t either.

((Yuki reminds me of a kid. It's shocking Ixen is younger, actually.))

Ixen approaching sent a startle down Yuki's spine, his head whipping around and mouth opening to let out a startled yelp. "What are yo-" He was cut off with surprise as the red, black, and white fox flopped down beside him and rested his head on his shoulder. The jumpy male tensed, waiting for something to follow this action. A trick maybe? Was this a joke? No, Ixen wasn't moving. 'Get up! You don't curl up with males! But... No buts! Move him!' Yuki stared at Ixen, clearly noting the other was not a female. But...did it matter? Ixen was just using him as a pillow. And.. he kind of liked it.

'Damn it all.' The grey and purple fox simply lowered himself, cautiously thinking over his choices. He could push Ixen off. Or he could stay right here and enjoy the touch. He couldn't remember the last time someone was so close. Even Sin had his boundaries with him, even if they were thin and almost non-existant. His mother had never cuddled with him as a kit, and his father rather hated his existence. He...had always wanted attention. He may have grown up pretending he was alright, pretending it didn't hurt. But it did. And now, someone was willingly close to him.

The male sighed, giving in and allowing the touch, even going as far as shifting so Ixen could be comfortable. He wrapped his tail around his body, ears pressing against his head contently. Ixen was warm, he hadn't expected another person to feel warm beside him. Or soft. This was different.

PostPosted: Mon Aug 16, 2010 9:59 am

(It is a bit surprising, but Ixen’s nature makes him fairly calm most of the time; and his stable upbringing helps. While Yuki unsettling past seems to make him weary and jumpy of everything. They are so cute together heart )

Sin had raised Ixen but never had Sin coddled Ixen. Ixen had grown up learning to defend him and survive. Cuddling wasn’t something that Ixen really grew up with. Though he knew enough about it by watching baby rabbits in the forest; when the rabbits had no clue that they were being watched Ixen would see how the young were cared for by the parents. He didn’t really know how relaxing and soothing it was to curl up with another creature until he had met and curled up next to Yuki.

Grinning inwardly Ixen allowed himself to savor the fact that Yuki allowed him to do this. Truly it wasn’t something that Ixen had expected to happen for quite some time. When Yuki had initially tensed Ixen had been a bit nervous, but once Yuki relaxed and even shifted so Ixen would be comfortable; Ixen let himself breathe a sigh of contentment and relief. Ixen’s ears lay back against his head as he allowed himself to relax completely against Yuki. The gray fox’s fur was so soft and warm. The scent of lavender was so pleasing to Ixen he wanted to stay here next to Yuki until the end of time. This was definitely something that they were going to have to do often. Ixen had never felt so rested before.

Yuki did not know much of Ixen's life with Sin, but he was highly curious. He moved his lead just so he could examine Ixen's coat. It was pretty, and he could only smirk at the thought of little red kits with pu- 'SHUT UP!' His ears twitched at the shock of his thoughts. He darted his eyes away and looked at his paws. Oh god he was loosing it. "How did Sin find you?" He managed to meep out, tail swishing side to side. He was highly curious, wondering what could of made Sin want to pick the male up and raise him much like he had done to Yuki.

((Sorry it's short. And yes, they are amazingly adorable together. heart ))
PostPosted: Tue Aug 17, 2010 5:35 pm

(Hey short is fine by me. )

Ixen paused at Yuki's question for a moment. His story really wasn't all that interesting, at least he didn't think it was. Well as a kit after I wandered off from my other family. I don’t really remember all too much about them other then the orange vixen with a blue necklace and a blue and purple ‘Phim. They weren’t my birth parents but they where the family that was going to take care of me, I suppose. To be honest I don’t know my birth parents at all.

Ixen stopped himself as he realized that he had been rambling off of the question Yuki had asked. He flipped his ears in self agitation before focusing his mind so that he could answer Yuki’s question without wandering off again. While once I wandered off I quickly got lost and ended up in the forest around Cruor land. I was hungry, tired, miserable and scared. After getting spooked by a little rabbit I was ready to give up and run away somewhere else. Suddenly there was Sin right in front of me! Ixen couldn’t help but smile at the memory. Needless to say I was shocked witless. All he said though was come, and I followed. Ixen started nuzzling Yuki softly from his position beside Yuki. Looking at Yuki at one point during these proceedings Ixen wondered about Yuki’s past. You said before that Sin raised you, and you’re your relations with your parents weren’t that ..mhmmm... ..cheery. What happened exactly?

Yuki didn't share this information to anyone, ever. Sin had met him already familiar with this story, only needing slight detail for their mothers were different. He considered withholding this complicated story, but instead nodded. "It's rather long." He sighed out, ears pressing against the back of his head.

"My father hardly was around, and my mother was to ditzy to even complete a proper sentence. I have two sisters. One was adored by my mother and her name is Unia, and the other was called ugly and plain, her name is Runaiu. Unia later became a rather sweet and loving fox, but Runaiu hid her insecurities and hurt by blocking others out and trying to compliment herself, looking vain to others when really she was just pretending.

"My sisters learned to leave me alone because my father hated me. I was not the perfect son. Like Runaiu I was treated like dirt, and my father told me I was useless and should have been born a girl. I guess he was right, I never could be as strong as him."

He paused, letting the silence fill the air and taking a breather. "My father was cheating on my mother, and had three other children. Two boys, Shai and Sin, and one girl, Nuishan. They were older than my siblings and I. Shai was the perfect son, he was the one father loved the most. Sin, well Sin will tell you his story one day if he wanted you to know. And Nuishan was pretty okay for a girl. My mother caught him cheating, and tensions raised.

"My father took me aside one day to teach me how to hunt. I found Shai there, and my father turned to me and said that Shai was perfect, and I was not. That I should try and be like him. That he loved Shai, and I was a mistake. But I could redeem myself if I was as good as my older half-brother.

"I ran away shortly after, still a kit. I became sick over time, to weak to even care for myself, and was bit by a dangerous snake. I collapsed and would have died had not Sin found me. He always had a soft spot for kits, so he nursed me to health and later asked who I was. He accepted me merely because we have similar stories, and unlike everyone else I didn't judge him. I couldn't, he was strong and powerful. Even when I found out that only a few days after I ran away Sin had killed my father and mother, and his mother, I still loved him. He was my everything, the only one who even called me by my name. Not 'brat', or 'worthless', or 'hey you'. Just Yuki.

"So he trained me to be tougher, to protect myself. But a storm separated us in the end, and I couldn't find him after. I kept looking for him for a long time, maybe a few years, and now...well you know what happened now. I'm here."
With this the male let out a weak sigh, curling into a tight ball. Hurt flashed behind purple eyes, but it was just as quickly hidden by indifference. A skill Sin had taught him. To feel emotionless.

((Long, sorrryyyy.))

PostPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 3:32 pm

(LOL long is fine too 3nodding ninja as long as you don't expect me to type something that long...)

Listening quitely Ixen tried hard not to interrupt Yuki. He had no idea that Yuki had such a shattered past. No wonder he was so attached to Sin. Ixen knew the feeling, but he also knew he had other foxes out there that could care for him; such as parents and the blue and orange vixens. Yuki had no one except Sin.

Well that was the case before he was paired with Ixen anyways. Once Yuki curled up in a ball Ixen was shocked. Seeing the hurt that was quickly masked in Yuki's eyes Ixen knew he had to do something. He positioned himself right above Yuki and lay down on the gray fox so he couldn't bolt if he got embarrassed. You are together with Sin again by being in the same tribe. There is nothing that going to separate you two again. On top of that you don't only have Sin anymore. You have me too. I like you Yuki and I'm not going anywhere. You are my mate after all. If anyone doesn't like it they can shove it up tails! If they try to hurt you I will end them. Ixen gave a mischievous grin at Yuki. I won't say that I won't tease you though, because we both know I will. I will do my best to make it up to you afterwords though. Ixen shifted his weight and tried to wedge his head into the ball that was Yuki, probably tickling the poor fox something fierce.

((And don't expect me to type something that long again, ever! Lol. =3 ))

Yuki had been busy trying to keep that expressionless facade he had conjured, so when Ixen raised and moved towards him he hadn't been prepared for the sudden contact forced upon him. His curled up form was interrupted by the other, startling and sending a wave of panic through him at the thought that Ixen was actually on him. He had never experienced such closeness, and it unnerved him. However he listened to the other, the words slowly releasing the grey and purple fox from his petrified terror. He looked upwards with violet eyes, yelping when Ixen suddenly attempted to wedge his head into his makeshift ball. Indeed he was tickled, letting out a strangled laughter that sounded foreign and felt just as foreign.

"S-stop t-that! I s-sai- ahahaha- cut it out!" Yuki couldn't help it, rolling out of his ball and attempting to escape from Ixen, to escape the tickling sensation. He went stiff as finally he realized the words Ixen had spoken. Ixen would protect you? He wasn't leaving? 'He likes me? No! He doesn't mean that way, right?! You fool! Shut up, just shut up Yuki. Don't say it, don't you dare!'

"I-I..." 'Don't!' "Like.." 'SHUT UP!' "You too. Like...I uhm..." 'I am your conscience and I say shut your trap.' "I like like you." <********>

He couldn't help it, he liked Ixen. He like liked Ixen. God no was he saying that one word. Ixen would have to settle with the childish words of 'liked like' instead/

PostPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:44 pm

(^.^ alright)

Ixen stopped tickling Yuki when he felt the gray fox had had enough. Ixen was grinning ear to ear almost as he looked at Yuki. His mate has said he liked Ixen, and it didn't take a genius to figure out what kind of like Yuki had for Ixen after everything they had done and said to one another. While it's true Yuki hadn't said love neither had Ixen. At this point in the relationship Ixen didn't feel ready to say love, and he doubted Yuki was ready either. That was just fine. Good because I like like you like that too. We're a strange pair I think but I don't mind. Ixen eased off of Yuki so that he wasn't looming over the other fox anymore.

I suppose we should be getting ready to go meet Sin by the Punishment Tree pretty soon. It's plain enough that we are going to be able to get alone well enough that no one will question you being my mate. Especially since we uh.. aren't exactly acting anymore. He couldn't help but produce a delicate cough at the end of this statement. Ixen didn't really want to want to see Sin just yet. He had a very vivid image of his foster father ripping out Ixen's throat. Shaking his head slightly Ixen dispelled the image and thought of something else.

Yuki just so you know I wouldn't let me catch you looking down again; or else. Ixen poked Yuki in the side in a spot that he had noticed was particularly ticklish before. He didn't even bother to hide the glee in his eyes as he imagined pouncing Yuki again.

((I made a mistake before. It's called the Silence Tree. Heh, sorrryyyy!))

Yuki scowled at him at the mention of them being a strange pair. Ixen was the strange one! Picking up random foxes in the middle of the forest and claiming them as their mate qualified as strange in his book. He welcomed Ixen moving off of him, it gave him a chance to hide his rather red face and fix his ruffled fur. He was not going to let Ixen see his embarrassment. Nope. It was true he wasn't ready to say love, and it may take longer for him to say it then Ixen. He was fine with that, Ixen didn't look the type to just throw that word around, and neither was he.

He caught the foxes cough, ears flipping against his head and a soft blush raging through his cheeks. 'He just enjoys poking fun at me.' He took that cough as a tease, frowning at him. However, he did perk up. Sin? Meet? Pretty soon? All words he liked to hear. As he began to move ahead he turned, confusion rushing through his face. Ixen jabbed him before he could ask his question, letting out a strangled laughter and leaping away, fur bristled.

"What was that for?! What do you mean by looking down, anyway?" He yipped, licking the ticklish spot Ixen had tickled. Damn Ixen! He was not up for tickle games!
