"Now that isn't fair we don't really know him yet Fuyu". Aya said with a smile trying to give Jin, the benefit of the doubt, she didn't really know that much about her teammates yet, and she didn't even know if they had any skills that be of help to the mission.

Aya looking over the scroll map they had gotten, it was really rather bad, it was just a poorly done drawing or the area, and a circle on it to indicate this is where the base is, the one clear landmark on the map was the base itself, and the fence that ran around the outside of the swamp. It also had some writing just under the picture, talking about how to get to the base, from some random point in the swamp, but it had no reference to the beginning point, it did had the compose symbol which showed which way was north, and was all they had to go on, while the other looked at the map Aya looked around then set up something on the ground, before spinning a little.

Aya looked rather mad as she did whatever it was she was doing, she then pointed toward some trees in the distance, and then with her hand pointed the way they had come to find the dog, this was happening while Fuyu was doing his wind trick or whatever he was doing, Aya then nodded, to Fuyu as he spoke on the map. "Yeah that map does suck a lot, but if it's right we aren't far from the base, north is that way and the gate we came from is over there, by the map we're only like a kilometer or two away from it, and the only thing in our way looks to be a pond or mash". Aya said as she pointed toward some trees that only a few meters away from them.

"I agree with Fuyu on that, it the best for this kind of environment, also I'll take point, my bugs are better at finding trap, any way we better get going before it gets too late, and here you guys much be getting thrusting by now, it is getting pretty late in the day". Aya took up the lead this time, unlike before this was build off what she had said, so she had to lead this time, after a little while, they hit the pond/mash land she had been talking about on the map, Aya had already coated her feet so she didn't need to worry much. "Use the 'Water Walking' skill to get across this ok, I know it common sense to do so, but if I didn't say anything it would felt a little like I was letting you guys down". Aya spoke up as they began onto the mash, it took her around an hour to get to the other side, this was mainly because Aya took a rather slow place, so as not to draw to much attention, just in case someone was watching them.

Once on the other side of the mash, the ground became sable and they were some tree, taking the chase Aya climb up one of the trees and look ahead, it seem the went on for a little bit and then they was some type of opening in the middle of them. After about another twenty minute of walking thought the trees, Aya stopped and held her hand up for the others to come to her, once they had gather she pointed for the ground. Near a good ten meters after some them they could see the base, but on the ground and growing along the trees, were vines, that stood out some the rest of the trees in the area, due to the beautifully coloured thorns that covered them. "Well this is a trap, the thorns are clearly poisonous, you can tell that just looking at the colour of the thorns, I haven't got a clue what they do, but if I have to guess, I'd say paralyze or cause you to get really sick, maybe even faint, at worst they'll cause death, I'll be back soon, I'm gonna go check around the base, to see if there is another way in". With that said Aya took off, a little while later she turned up again, she shook her head at her new teammates, they wasn't another path to the camp, and it seemed like the entire had this stuff grow around it.

Aya informed her teammate this there was a slightly least dense around but, the thorns cover the entire area, and cover the tree, showing this was clearly a trap.

Dark Bunny Lord
A dog ran up to Ka'rinth, it's scroll long gone and several small needles in it's back arced electricity. Shaking them loose the dog took off as quick as it came, confused as to where it was and how it had gotten there.

Lilith sat atop a large tree branch, her legs criss crossed and swinging as she steadied herself with both hands covered by the long sleeves of her black and purple rain coat. "Silly boy, what are you doing back here? You'll fail at this rate. Don't want to be disqualified before you get into the finals do you?" she asked knowing this was the main target she had heard of. She couldn't fight him now, she had been forbidden to, but the next stage of the exams... those she could shine in and do as she pleased... make the whole thing look like an accident.

"Ahhhhh" she said after several moments, "your allies are gone huh. I left mine behind, why use excess baggage? They've already tested our co-operation, I doubt they'll focus as much on it this time"

Ka'rinth smiled slightly as he looked at the person in the tree and eased his own needles back into his sleeves as he turned to the speaker and said softly, Hmm, I suppose the best way to say it is I'm unmotivated by titles and teams for that matter. If I get made a chuunin then I'll be expected to train others and be on teams, as it is now as a genin my team leader and kage don't put me on teams which suits me fine. Though for the sake of tests even if cooperation has already been tested it's generally inadvisable to abandon a team if only because if you get over your head and no one knows where you are then you could end up causing more problems than you solve. So I think I'll wait right here for the baggage and if I'm so unfortunate as to fail I'll just have to report the failings of my assigned partners to my kage before I go back to my gardening. Thanks for the concern though. Who are you anyway? I am called Ka'rinth and am infamous in my village for not doing anything that doesn't interest or amuse me. As he spoke he continued relaxing against the entry way and kept his needles close at hand as his eyes were covered in shadows as the whites slowly shifted to black and his squinted eyes faded to almost nothing behind his lashes and lids.

Aya took Fuyu and Jin around to the area, where the thorns were at the thinist, she then took a few deep breaths as she thought on how to get past them, she then let out her breath and looked to her "Oh Kay, I am going to try and run though them, seeing as it isn't far and I probably have the lowest weight, if I fail, you two will be able to pull me out if needed, an if I make it and you two fail, I can try and pull you over to the other side". Aya said as she clear her mind and opened her Mind's Eye, to keep track of the thorns she could, she place chakra in her legs to help her move if need, she then took off at top speed to the vines.

Aya took a long jump style jump, just before getting to the vines, as she did so, she manage to get past move of the vines, and then thanks to her Mind's Eye she was able to spot, a small opening in the vines she could step on, taking it she used it like a spring board and got to the other side, tucking herself into a ball as she got to the other side, and rolled out once on the other side, causing her to get a few scraps and bruises but she wasn't that bad over all. Once she got up she smile brightly and sprang up into a victories pose, before looking at her teammates and blushing as she look down. "Ok your guys turn, it all about speed to get over, here if that helps". Aya said as she got into place so the she could help if needed, and be out of the was if they did what she did and rolled out to land.

Lilith just grinned widely, "well that's a shame really, cause you really would do well in the next round. As for who I am does it matter? Just part of another small village that was smashed in the war unlike you big guys... though that won't last long, Sasumateh-kun says soon we'll be the biggest of the big, just need to take the right steps. I'd better be off though, I can't fail this, if you want my name you'll have to make certain you get to the tournament rounds. byyeeeee" lilith said before leaping off back into the forest.

It was a shame that he had no intent of passing, though that could mean better things for there own plans as it signaled a lack of interference in the future, at least to some extent, though she was certain their kage would be less than pleased to loose out on one more prospective piece of their work.

Ka'rinth laughed at Rain being called big and said by way of farewell, I could see Rain being called small and squalid much easier than big and since Pein's death little has improved. Pity they didn't wipe out the other villages when they could but saying we weren't effected by the war is a bit off. Maybe I'll see you later, but probably not unless they suck at judging. With that he simply nodded to her farewell and continued to wait patiently for the exam to end or his team to assemble and express interest in beginning.

Yuki followed along, and was quite surprised when Notwen moved closer to him to speak about something important. "Look, Yuki. I know what you did back at the meeting point. I personally have no reason to lie to anyone. So by you betraying my trust, and trying to pry information from me by force, you have lost trust points in my book. I don't know if that's how you go about meeting people, but there are some things best left unknown." He then vanished before Yuki could show him some of that Yamanaka intellect and logic. Betraying his trust? A shinobi should not have trust with anyone. It is easier to kill someone or betray them when they are within backstabbing range. On the contrary, I trust Hisaki without a doubt, one of the few people I would never mistrust. People are fickle.

A few moments later, the Uchiha commented on the vines and that they should probably hurry up. Yuki nodded in agreement as he sped up to stay with the group, but was told to stop when they got close by Hisaki, who tried to reason out the vines' nature. Offering to go first, he leaped on to an open spot and scanned the area before cracking a small joke.

"I'll try to get across first." His Hyuuga friend calmly said before sprinting across the field of venomous vines. He began to swing his father's sword wildly around, cutting off nearly anything that comes within range. Hisaki was almost at the end, until he turned around and began to boast about his achievement, "Hisaki!" Yuki called out as he saw a vine wrap itself around his friend's leg. The Yamanaka's mind let go of everything about the exam and instantly focused on his lifetime friend. This exam probably has a deeper meaning than what its about as of right now, however, I can't leave Hisaki behind or go on without him! Yuki began to make handseals rapidly, throwing about his Wind Scythe Jutsu like drinks at a party. "Wind Scythe!" He kept calling out as he began to race towards his teammate, blasting away vines with his accurate wind based attack. The vines would get close to Yuki, but his reflexes demanded that he would extract a kunai and would alternate between the slashing motion of a kunai, and pounding them away with his jutsu. "Hisaki!"
He reached his teammate and began to eradicate the vines around him, including the one attached to his leg. "Hisaki, are you alright? Can you hear me?" Yuki called out, shaking his partner a bit. There was no answer at first. Damn it! Even though the vines are removed, the toxin is still in his body! So he is still affected by the Genjutsu. Now, I remember my father's teachings on medical ninjutsu, but he never actually let me practice with any of them, so I know them in theory, but in reality... He began making the handseals Masaki once taught him, remember where to relocate his chakra amongst other things. After the quick preperation, Yuki kneeled down and placed his hands on his best friend's leg. "C'mon! This has to work!"

(Intx2 + Medicate check vs 300)
(Base Int(45) + Mind Release(30))x2 + Medicate check(0) vs 300
(75)x2 + 0 vs 300
150 vs 300 = 35%
HOWEVER, We got the scroll that gives +10% to all checks inside the base. I don't quite understand if its now 165 vs 300 = 36%? or it adds to the final total of 150 vs 300 = 35% + 10% = 45%?
So its either 36 or lower, or 45 or lower...I think. HALP?

Hisaki's mind was swirling as he began to sink to his knees. In his head, his senses were falling together into a sort of single-sense. Blurred and reassigned, Hisaki could barely comprehend the sensation. He could taste something akin to the sound of a dog's bark. He heard the color orange, and after that, the texture of leather. A crisp, sizzling sound like bacon in a skillet could be heard all over his body. Well, that's as much as Hisaki would be able to describe later on. He gripped his head in confusion, screaming, "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!"

Hisaki tried to sit up, but his twisted mental state instead caused him to kick his leg. In response, he attempted to pull back the soaring limb, but then his arm flew upward in some unwanted direction with the force of a punch. As much as he attempted to flail, no bodily function seemed to work.

After what seemed like weeks and months of torturous confusion, Hisaki saw a figure in his kaleidoscope vision. As the being grew closer, it seemed that the figure was some sort of demon, a creature that inspired death. With teeth bared, Hisaki attempted to flail again, but to no avail. The creature came near, and sunk its massive beast-claws into Hisaki's skin. With a quick pull, his leg ripped apart into flat ribbons, as if he was made from paper. Hisaki tried to scream as he felt his skin shredding apart. He gripped his face until his fingers wisped away, and kept his eyes open until they too fell apart.

Hisaki's eyes opened again, and he found that he was staring into the daytime sky. He sat up, and gripped his head. It was pounding like he'd never felt before. He attempted to shake off the pain as he got up, and stumbled backwards. His leg hurt. Hisaki brushed his hand against his leg unconsciously, saying with a slur that would make a wino proud, "Am... Amii... amlay bre-blee-bleeding?"

Hisaki shook his head, and wiped his brow. The pain was going away. Slowly. Same with the feeling of drunkenness. Hisaki tried to get up, but the blood suddenly went from his head to his feet way to fast, and he fell backward again. Cut this s**t. Get UP! Hisaki pushed himself up to his knees, then forced up a leg, then another, until he was in full standing position. He rocked back and forth for a moment before his head finally stopped spinning. Still, he felt pretty strange. He gazed down at the ripped pant leg where one of the vines had hit him. As he scratched his leg, he sleepily looked over the slightly healed over cut. Apparently someone had fixed him.

All of the sudden it made sense. Only feet away, Yuki had fallen into the brambles himself, to which Hisaki simply said, "Oh. Guess we should try to fix that, huh?" Hisaki wandered clumsily to his teammate and pried him from the grip of the plants only momentarily. He looked over the points that Yuki had got hit, and grabbed his own head, "Damn, what the hell do I do now? Um..."

In his sluggish mind, it seemed like a good idea to yank out some of the embedded thorns, but with just a pull of a thorn, he felt a bit queasy. Just the thought of ripping it out of Yuki's body made him gag just a bit, or at least it did in his current state of mind. After righting himself again, Hisaki looked over at Notwen, who was stationary at the other side of the bushes, "You! Hey, there.... Buddy! Come gimme a hand or somethin'"

Notwen stopped behind Hisaki when he saw the Hyuuga's signal. Yuki had caught up just as the latter descended into the water to check the vines. Hisaki had made great progress through the vines using a sword of some sort. Just as he made it to the end, the Hyuuga let down his guard and the thorned vines wrapped themselves around his leg, piercing his skin and putting him in the genjutsu.
I guess the water isn't so great now, he thought, placing his hand over his face and shaking his head. Yuki saw the fate that had befallen Hisaki and immediately jumped into the water, running on the surface while slicing at the thorns with the same jutsu that Fuyu had used. So Yuki's chakra has an affinity to the wind nature as well.... Notwen watched as the vines kept attacking Hisaki despite the fact that Yuki was cutting at them with a kunai and his wind sickles. He dropped from the branch onto the water, making small ripples on the surface as he was suspended by his own chakra.
The first course of action was to make his way across to the other side, then help Hisaki. Notwen searched for the decayed section and saw a small corridor with minimal vine activity. He made for that narrow path.

"Suzume Koumyaku." whispered Notwen. His feet were covered in the fire element chakra, causing the water below them to start steaming. Notwen took a runner's ready position stance, then sprinted into the corridor of decaying plant matter. The heat generated by the Suzume Koumyaku burned away any fresh vines that creeped onto the corridor, and singed the purple barbs so that they couldn't secrete any more of the substance that had put Hisaki into the genjutsu. He skated past Yuki, who was still struggling to free the Hyuuga, who was now screaming "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!". Wow, that genjutsu seems to be doing serious damage... thought Notwen, making sure to keep his attention on where he was going so as to repeat the same mistake Hisaki had made.
A few feet later, he was standing on firmer ground. The vines were now scorched and unmoving, giving Notwen a safe path back to the others. He looked over at Yuki again. Despite his small frame, he had not let up on using the kunai and wind sickles. It was obvious that the two had some type of relationship, most likely being from the same village. In fact, according to Soba, the Hyuuga and Yamanaka clans were both native to Fire Country.
Wow, so they were team mates the whole time! thought the long-haired blonde smiling.

Ah well, I'm still proud of myself for generating myself a 3 at one point in my life (minus the 1 I got from our first mission)

Yuki felt the pain of something grab a hold of his body and instantly his mind began to ripple and weave in and out of reality. At one point, he was looking at Hisaki, he was healing him, they were home free! However, his friend then began to turn a bright yellow color and grow wings. The air around him began to smell like coffee while raindrops made of candy corn came pouring down. "Wha...?" Was all Yuki could muster until he tried to piece it all together, however it was hard. Lines, dots, and stars kept swimming in between his lines of vision. Hisaki was now a giant yellow Ostrich trying to pull out his arms while an Astronaut known as Notwen began to traverse the deathly vines. "Hallucinogenic Genjutsu!" He shouted almost randomly as he figured out what the vines were causing. Now he needed to free himself of them, launching attacks at the vines would have been proven useless if he was under the effect of their poison. Speaking of vines, Yuki looked down to his midriff and was now being eaten alive by the jellyfish beneath him, as the tentacles began to twist themselves around the blond's body, not only releasing more harmful venom, but shredding bits and pieces of clothing off of him with their thorns. "s**t..." He muttered, now too confused to fight back.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 02, 2010 4:57 am

Hisaki watched with a hint of frustration as Notwen ran though a nest of thorns like it was a cakewalk. Meanwhile, Yuki was being held down taught by thorns, and it wasn't getting any easier to pry him out without getting stabbed himself. The genin sighed, but suddenly became alert at the creaking sounds of vines all around. The noise seemed to have brought them back to their senses, and after him again!

Hisaki drew the Blade of Oblivion, and deflected several incoming thwacks. Quickly, they were becoming too much for Hisaki to handle with just his katana, so he looked for an escape route. The shore was much closer, but again, who knows how far they can reach. Also, if he got too far on dry land, he might get attacked by the second round. The map hadn't made it entirely clear were those traps were. As he laid waste to three more incoming vines with a single combo, Hisaki tried to reason it out in his head, On one side, I'm in danger, but I'm ahead of this trap as far as the traps go. On the other side, I have to start from scratch, and work my way to Yuki to save him again. Hisaki glared hard at the shoreline, then said, "I'll take the safe way." Hisaki sheathed his katana, and said the words to his newest technique, “Scorn chastity and spite purity! These are the Claws of the Succubus! Second Realm: Talons of Eros.” In conjunction with that jutsu, Hisaki activated his Sharingan to go on top of his Byakugan.

Hisaki's fingertips glowed with red chakra, and with a explosive burst, created five inch claws on each of his fingers. Hisaki slashed at the vines violently, forging his own path out of the brambles. No strip of ivy could p***k his skin while Hisaki was slashing in this controlled, yet wild way. Hisaki sweeped around near the end of the ivy coated area. The intense heat of his fingers burned the ivy down to the earth, giving him an ample opportunity to leap out of the ivy area, and into the safety of the water. As Hisaki deactivated all of his jutsu, he got down on all fours on the still waters. He let out a deep breath then got back up, holding his head. The spinning made his already dizzy head that much worse. Well at least there was a clear way through the vines now.

Well, maybe not. Hisaki watched in anguish as the vines began to flop themselves over the bald earth, filling in the void with more trap area. Hisaki grunted, "So not fair..."

’I shall fight to honor the name of Kaiten, the name of my father…

Erkamina had gotten lost somewhere along the line, seeing as the sound no longer echoed through the forest. Either that or the dog had changed direction to a certain location that was an inaudible distance away. Or it had stopped whining because it heard the approach of Erkamina and her two followers. She had slowed down enough not to make noise to check the third scenario but dogs had much stronger senses of hearing than humans. Especially if this was indeed a ninja-dog, trained for the purpose of tracking, then its senses would in turn be that much stronger due to its previous training. The more she wandered the more she figured that this dog had to have been trained to do what it was doing as well as the speed it had run away in was incredible, even for a dog. She figured that a domesticated pet dog would only reach about twice the speed of a ninja, perhaps, but a ninja dog would be able to reach speeds higher because it was trained to do so. She put a finger to her chin lightly, trying to figure out where the dog would go and where it was trying to lead them. Was it leading them to the destination because they were so far behind? Gods did she hope that was not the case because being behind meant she would likely fail again. She hung her head slightly, a soft look of disappointment crossed her face and she sighed heavily. This was not the hard part by any means but she was getting frustrated with constantly failing. What was next, getting disqualified for failing so much? She figured she would have been disqualified after last round, thinking only a perfect score would end in a promotion. She shifted tactics at this idea. Well then, it was no use to think about perfect scores, or even a majority score at this point. What she needed to try for now was to find that dog so it could lead her out of this exam so she could get to the next round and she could get the promotion. Or she could get a reason to train her a** off for the next couple of months, the possibilities boiled down to two. She allowed herself to stop only long enough to look around and to listen, only to hear the whine again. So she had been on the right track, it was a bit louder. "Alright, let's speed up and catch up with this dog before we all get lost and exhausted." She said as she looked up at the tree branches "if we branch-hopped it would trigger those tags I'm sure so we have to stay on the ground."

… Soon I will show the world the worth of that name.’
