Being lifted, clasped to the vampire by the mouth, KB simply bit down and greedily drank of whatever blood was in his foe. The amount that held no power would afford him nothing, but the blood that still held energy would be used to heal his own wounds.

The fact that arms caught hold of him and lifted him up didn't seem to bother him. Instead his claws simply came down, raking across flesh until the points of his fingers found the clavicles. Or rather, the dip of flesh above them. This is where he would sink in the points of his fingers, his thumbs hooking beneath the bones. It was a task far easier on Iden's side opposite of KB's own mouth, but not one that was unachievable on both.

While the DeSeer busied himself with the mental coaching needed to carry someone near his own size and weight towards impending doom, KB continued to feast with his insatiable appetite for violence.

In this case, sucking out his foe's blood while simultaneously pulling both his clavicles out and hefting them triumphantly into the air. The one being munched on would be pulled out of KB's mouth, the fangs scraping the bone and slurping the skin and blood there from it like chicken off a drumstick.

Finger lickin' good.

Truthfully, there was remarkably little Iden could do to prevent the theft of his collarbones. Fortunately, such a loss was not crippling...by much. True, his shoulders would dislocate with ludicrous ease now, but his undead musculature would handle the additional stress, he hoped. But even so, he was mere feet from his goal. His strength remained, and by this point desperation outweighed the pain he was experiencing. God alone knows that once the fight-or-flight high ended, he'd feel like an amalgamation of nine circles of hell.

Since KB had busied himself with causing such harm to Iden over trying to free himself, it was a fairly safe assumption that Iden had the opportunity to maneuver his foe into the light of day. Loosely translated, he was pulling out all stops by shoving his clawed right fist upwards, through the bottom of KB's jaw, and attempting to hold him that way. At the same time his left hand thrust upwards, pressing in an attempt to hook steel and fang together to force the older vampire's jaw open. Whatever health he had gained from the spent blood of his younger prey would be denied as the brilliance of the sun washed over his open maw; Iden could only hope this was enough to slow the fiend down. God help him if it wasn't; Iden would be on the ropes with only risky and potentially suicidal options left to him after such a point.

Closing his eyes seemed to do nothing to keep the sun from burning, his face being forced into the natural light. Of course, having his jaw forcibly removed from the other vampire meant he took an entire patch of flesh with him, but that was besides the point. Flames burst to life across the vampire, a gout of fire erupting from his open maw into the air.

The crowd cheered Iden on, watching with obscene glee as the elder vampire burned.

If a blood frenzy had overtaken KB before, then one of self-preservation took him now. He felt the bones in his hands turn over distantly as if it were happening through the senses of another, his ability to 'feel' solely occupied by the burning of the sun. His eyes were closed tightly, and yet they burned and were blinded with an intensity well beyond that of the fights earlier flashbang technique.

With his options limited, KB simply roared and frantically began chopping at Iden with his own collar bones, smashing them blindly into his face. Splintering the ends on the man's skull would afford them sharpness, inhumanly fast and strong motions bringing them through the eyes, mouth, or side of the skull in a flurry of blows. With each consecutive strike KB felt as though he could feel himself making headway, as he was of course pushing against his assailant in an effort to move back into the shadows.

Better and better...now Iden had to deal with a deranged old vampire stabbing his face with his own bones THAT WAS ON FIRE.

No matter. The moment was right; both fighters were in a state of sheer overdrive that denied pain and injury in favor of fighting for the sake of self preservation. It was hard to say just when the battle had gone from a tournament bout to a full on deathmatch, but this was far too gory a fight to be anything less than fully lethal in intent.

For his part, Iden was nearing the end of his high. KB was right where he wanted, and it would take so very little to finish things.

The young DeSeer paid little heed to the rain of blows. True, his face was being carved up like a thanksgiving turkey. His glasses cracked, and a splinter was driven into his left eye, but this was too important to falter. Iden pumped his rapidly burning supplies of blood and stamina into another all or nothing maneuver. He still had some of his reserves left; it was damnably hard to empty a body of all it's blood so quickly. Thus, his undead might was brought to bear once again. This time was no punch, however; his arms were maimed too badly to make any real effect. Instead, Iden kicked off the ground with his feet, and thrust them in a double legged kick to KB's chest. A normal man's ribs would shudder, flex and break under the impact; God alone knows if it would have any such effect on an old corpse. Still, such was not the intent; Iden was trying to cast his foe into the light of day to let him burn.

Not enough to kill him, of course. If it got that bad, the young DeSeer would throw himself into the fire to prevent it...

Effectively blinded, there was little KB could do to keep Iden from letting go and then smashing all his weight into his chest. His grip of the collarbones slipped as the boots impacted his chest and sent him stumbling back into the sun, only his head exposed directly to the light. He found himself acting instinctively, falling into a backwards somersault and rolling.

Coming to a stop on a knee KB's head snapped up, his eyes opening as his face contorted with pain and anger. His irises were bubbling in the sunlight as flames licked at his exposed flesh, his sights set firmly on Iden. The vampire in front of him new his brief foray in the light of day to be an unimaginable hell.

Dark energy blossomed to life around the vampire, his body enveloped in a purplish fog as he sprang forwards. Curiously, he aimed his attack away from Iden, well to the side of the vampire and towards the shade. It might have seemed a cowardly tactic to some, but it was a smart one. Using his move in such a way would bring him well into the safety of the shadows, not to mention put some space between himself and Iden. Even with the young vampire's celerity, it seemed hopeless to cross the same distance with enough speed to catch KB before he reached his destination.

Old Man KB
Falcon Punch - KB uses Negative Energy to propel himself forwards in a concentrated burst. The maximum effective range of this technique is 20ft. This distance is crossed almost instantly. Terrain is not an issue unless there are notable obstructions that would physically block him from reaching his target, and can't be simply barreled through. ( Thick stone walls for example, or vehicles. ) Once activated this ability cannot be stopped unless the punch connects or the distance is traveled.

Though he grasped air at the end of his journey, his hands were burned. Where the dark claws had taken form he burned as though his flesh was exposed, the claws themselves reverting back to the white-gloved shape seamlessly upon arrival. He would stand and turn his head towards Iden, offering him a sidelong glance. Twisted and scarred with lines of sunscorching, the face was a mask of contempt.

KB need not have worried. Iden had fallen after his boots parted with the elder vampire's chest, leaving him lying on the ground. Though he quickly recovered, KB was well on the way to the shadows by the time the young DeSeer had his footing, making it a literal impossibility for him to follow up in time.

That said, Iden took a step back; he needed a moment, and was wary about jumping at his foe headlong again. Battered a bloodied, it was difficult to say if he had really gained any ground against his foe. Sure, KB's face was horribly burned, and had been forcibly thrown about, but Iden looked like hell. His face was bloodied; his throat and collarbones had been ripped out. Both arms hung at his sides, only just shy of being rendered useless.

But what was that? The shades fell away, revealing a glimmer of azure. His eyes were upon KB and the bandages were parting...

Iden was grinning. The crowds went wild as the cameras zoomed to capture the man's cocksure expression. Was he just that arrogant, or was he a fool? That was for the judges to say. For his part, Iden was enjoying the fight. Terror had given way to a masochistic high similar to the aftermath of an adrenaline rush; the pain he endured merely accented the feeling and brought him little more than confidence and determination to endure. And, it seemed, there was a bit of a showman left in him; the young DeSeer began to circle away from the line of light and shadow, and forced his arms to lift to the crowds. The screaming masses roared in approval, though the dead man paid them no further attention. His gaze lingered on KB, glacial and determined as ever.

Twenty feet separated the fighters, maybe more. It was just enough that they could show their disdain for the other, knowing it would no doubt close swiftly. Iden was prepared.

Falling back deeper into the protective shadows, the elder vampire smiled to his opponent. Though his face was temporarily scarred and his hands had taken minor damage he felt as though he was ahead. The wounds he sustained paled compared to Iden's, if not in lethality than in severity. It was more the disabling of certain faculties KB appreciated.

As if to punctuate the condition of their match, KB adopted the same stance as he had initially taken. It was an act of finality that spoke volumes to the crowd and his opponent alike. His wings reformed and shielded his slashed arms, the right pulling back as the left was brought up in front of him defensively. With most of his face hidden ( and the terrible mouth there that seemed to absentmindedly chew on bits of Iden's flesh ) it helped reinforce the illusion that KB had escaped unscathed and was indomitable.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 15, 2010 6:06 pm

Oh, if only Iden could talk. Alas, his throat was a tattered rag; he could not speak without extensive healing. Given the lull in the battle, he could perhaps begin such a process; however, the time it would take to rebuild his missing bones while remaining alert made it an entirely unfeasible option.

Even so, mauled and injured though he was, the overwhelming majority of the harm was cosmetic. Like KB, Iden was a dead man walking; he had no need of the flesh that had been torn and split. Even the loss of his clavicles wasn't totally crippling; his arms still functioned, just to a reduced capacity. He stood tall, knowing that he was still in this battle. The posturing, it seemed, would continue.

It was to Iden's advantage that they stand around like they were. He could not regenerate to a large extent; the focus required would leave him far too vulnerable. But his wounds had long since ceased to bleed, and his eye began to knit together. The expenditure was minimal to restore sight to his punctured left eye, but the payoff was tremendous indeed.

So, as he stood tall, Iden was collecting himself, preparing for the next rush. He had seen a great deal of what his foe was capable of. Knowing now to be wary, the young DeSeer was watchful, choosing to give the initiative freely for the moment that he might turn this brawl to his favor.

Hm.

Seeing as though Iden had no intention of closing the distance, KB leaned into the first steps of his lone dance. Twisting to his right he started his spinning routine, his right wing coming around in a backslash. KB would not cease, inching forwards as he moved with the momentum of his motions and spun again and again, each time throwing his wings out towards his opponent.

Old Man KB
Phantom Slash - Used in conjunction with KB's ability to use his cape as a weapon, the Phantom Slash is an attack that extends his range considerably. The force of his slashes causes a blade of force to continue in a wave pattern away from him, impacting anything in range of the attack. The maximum range of this ability is 30ft. The strength of the attack does not diminish until it has reached its maximum range, at which point it disperses harmlessly. The force of these attacks is strong enough to match the attacks that generates them.

The first slash would be hard to see for Iden who was straight ahead of him, KB apparently just flowing through his motions at a distance. Though, the vampire's regenerating eye might serve him well enough to spot the thin distortion of air heading towards his legs at a sharp angle. The 'slash' of energy would be followed by one after another, each of the blades rocketing towards the younger vampire intermittently. KB would keep his attacks directed at Iden, his targets non-specific as he focused on keeping up with what he assumed would become a moving target.

In spite of himself, he remembered the Ball with a smile,

Sey
As he scanned her face, the vampire would see pure joy at their bumbled dancing, her happiness rising impossibly with every misstep and near stomp of her toes and dress. Seyumi was enjoying herself tremendously and had all but forgotten that she was her partners veritable bane of existence as they completed another successful twirl and together gained a level in dance.

With his sight restored, Iden's confidence was bolstered anew. He stood, watchful and ready. As KB began to move, so was Iden's body tensed and prepared.

Something was amiss. In the battle thus far, Iden had gained some measure of his foe; the elder vampire did not strike him as the sort to waste movement, even in the clutches of bloodlust and frenzy. That meant...

Move!

Call it intuition, but it made no sense for KB to begin dancing were he not using such to his advantage. Having seen the swift lunge of dark power he had wielded to escape the rays of the sun, Iden suspected similar methods were at work. He slipped to his left, seeing nothing of the rippling wave that swiftly crossed the distance. It slammed into the young DeSeer's trailing arm, snapping it backwards with a sickening crack of breaking bone and tearing muscle.

The dead man was forced back into a low stance, but would not linger. His legs began to pound out a steady beat as he ducked and weaved, maintaining his distance and keeping on the move. A second cut narrowly missed and snipped some of the loose blue locks that drifted in his wake. Still his eyes saw nothing closing the gap; he could not percieve what threat he faced.

So Iden did the only thing any level headed, cocksure sonofabitch could do in his situation.

He surged forwards, boosting his acceleration with quick spurts of inertia-denying blood arts to keep his every twist and turn completely unpredictable. To KB, it would seem as if he were trying to close the distance in a vain hope that he would be unharmed. Another slash ripped through his side, pulverizing his kidney and stopping mercifully short of his spine. But more than just gore fell to the ground; released from Iden's leading left arm was another flash grenade. The crowd would see it land, but Iden's body blocked line of sight with KB until it struck ground. Then, with a swift sidestep, the sudden burst of light signalled a painful ring in both fighters' ears.

Clunk!

KB's eyes narrowed at the sound, his attention still mostly focused on Iden's unpredictable movements. While his attacks were moderately successful, he had wholly managed to lure the younger vampire back to direct violence. The two combatants could not afford the waiting game at this point and so they began to close the distance towards their final climactic exchange.

Then, the blindness again. The sound of the grenade itself did little to the elder, as it was more or less impossible to stun him. The light however was a different concern entirely, and for a short time he would be blinded. Only the fact that he was continually in motion kept him from the full brunt of the technique.

His snail paced approach halted, the toe of his left foot snapping down on the smooth floor. Twisting his heel out towards Iden he lifted his weight off the back of his foot and spun. His right foot left the ground entirely as he spun around, his form akin to a dark ballerina. It was graceful and even delicate to a point.

When he completed his spin his right foot would snap down, heel stamping to the floor. His accrued momentum would be halted entirely, his fluid motions from before becoming still. Standing there, he reflexively tightened his will throughout his clothing, each silken layering hardening to near-steel like proportions. It was only a partially visible transformation, the already black portions of material taking an unnatural pitch, whilst the edges of his ensemble seemed to sharpen or come to points.

Essentially armoring himself and holding his right wing up ahead of him defensively, KB adopted a reversal of his opening stance. His body was still facing Iden sideways, though now his right side was ahead and his right wing was lifted to near eye level, the plane of the wing angling down towards the ground to form a wide shield. Behind that shield he was lightly armored and mentally prepared for anything.

Two grenades remained. Iden had thought to bring five, not realizing how unbelievably necessary they would be. Later, perhaps, he would hope to a higher power that he could locate more before his next match, assuming he advanced. For now, his hand remained near to them, hoping for a c***k in his foe's defenses.

There was to be no such luck. Rather than taking a counteroffensive, KB had turtled, leaving him very difficult to assail. Iden could see little he himself could do with an additional bomb, meaning it was up to good old-fashioned fisticuffs. With one arm almost totally worthless, and the other quickly following, that was an unpleasant option.

Disadvantages aside, Iden was still the nimble aggressor. He had been circling KB, evading the slashes as best he could while it lasted. Now, he moved in swiftly to capitalize on his foe's momentary stillness. Taking a leap at the last possible moment, Iden was trying a risky maneuver; he was attempting to wrap his calves around the upper half of KB's head. From there, momentum would take over; Iden would swing forward over his foe, with the point of contact being a pivot. When the young DeSeer came to the ground behind the elder vampire, he would become the pivot, attempting to use his whole body, cranked out with as much force as could be managed, to bodily sling KB...right into the sunlight.

After all, if his foe was going to shield himself and make striking difficult, then what other alternative was there? Iden knew this was risky. The defensively held wing could turn this maneuver around should KB's sight return too swiftly; Iden could only pray it did not.

Trust your feelings!

The proximity of the younger vampire became apparent without the aid of sight, through the movement of the air around him and the sound of approach. When he heard Iden's footsteps stop without a hard step or scraping sound he knew that his opponent had attempted an aerial maneuver.

Unfortunately for the younger vampire, this meant that KB lifted his wing to bat his opponent away. Since Iden had jumped high enough to try and catch KB's head with his calves he wouldn't manage to simply send him sprawling. Instead, the calves pinched at the top of his skull but would fail to make a solid grip ( because they weren't low enough on the head, they'd slip off ) even as the wing lifted to smack him in the a**, back, and head. The result of the lifting wing and failed grab would send Iden flying overhead, the wing acting like a catapult that had caught him out of mid-air.

Knowing the direction of his opponent though the tactile sense of his wing, KB would turn to his right and slide his left foot forwards. The right wing would descend behind him, the left lifting and mirroring the former pose. It was a complete reversal of his stance only seconds ago.

The blindness receded then, his vision rapidly reforming. He would watch to see if Iden managed to recover from the fall, though in a subtle change his wing was more sharply angled. Instead of offering both of his eyes to the enemy, the left eye was hidden by the edge of his wing, which was angled downwards. In essence he was protecting himself from another flash grenade, sure that if such a tactic was used he could simply alternate his stance and observe the match with his protected eye.

His legs wrapped around the elder's dome, and squeezed. Then it popped free, leaving Iden with a single though:

Oh. ******** than launching KB into the burning sun, Iden found himself sailing along on a one-way trip into a lovely charcoal-shaded tan. He landed in a very rough roll, and skipped to his feet nigh instantly. It was a blessing that so little of his body was exposed; only where KB had ripped up would burn.

Even son, his neck, shoulders and face were ablaze. Iden's functioning arm lifted to shield his eyes, but damn if he wasn't in agony supreme. His legs pounded against the blood-slicked ground to haul a** into the shade, knowing full well that more than a scant few seconds and the sun would literally hollow him out with cleansing fire. If KB capitolized on this, God help the young DeSeer; he could only do so much and still make it to safety. Truth be told, enemy attack was just about the last thing on Iden's mind.

Will you ever let go of your hate?

"No."

Mercilessly, KB locked his eye on his target and snapped his left arm down and to his side, his right arm coming around in an upwards slash. Entirely vertical, this motion of the wing sent a blade of displaced air rocketing towards Iden dead-center. It was dually there to bisect his sternum and to sent him slamming back into the inferno of the relentless sun so that its rays might consume his heart.

KB wasn't a vampire.
KB wasn't a person.
KB wasn't a man or a monster.

He just was, and set out to make sure Iden wasn't.

"FINISH HIM!" The crowd roared.

"FINISH HIM! FINISH HIM! FINISH HIM!"

There was no chance of saving this damned soul, a twisted thing beyond redemption. Even among his own 'kind' he would be labeled a pariah. It was his nature to act this way, something no number of charming dances or amount of time could change. He was outside of the realm of consequence and concern, he was a force of nature.

Destruction.

'Come, and be destroyed.'
