lungrot TAG AT MRI AS WELL IN THIS POSTDace nodded enthusiastically at Alex. He didn't have the same want as she did (he was wanting to capture pokemon, not research them!), but he was still excited. To keep the conversation flowing, he asked her lightly, "What evolutions are there so far?"
Of course, about the time that he asked that, the deli-girl, Miri, started speaking again. Thankfully Dace managed to catch most of what she said. Potions, healing, poison, antidotes, healing, food. He was pretty sure he understood, so he eagerly nodded when she finished.
Nodding always showed you understood, correct? Then it hit him.
Money. He gulped and looked at his wallet again and groaned.
"Maaaan, and I was hoping to not have to spend a bunch," he grouched, though it was only half-heartedly. Sorta...not really. Dace hated spending money. Alex's eyes lit up, "Seven so far!" She started counting them off on her fingers. "Jolteon, Vaporeon, Flareon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, and Glaceon. I'm hoping to discover a new type of Eevee evolution, my research suggests that there should be many more kinds." She frowned, "But my professor thinks it's a wild tauros chase..."
She continued to rant about her professor, not realizing that no one was listening and that she was likely speaking to herself....again....

((Yeah, I know, I wasn't really paying attention when I phrased that. I take the bus a lot so that's just how it came out. XDDD Also, when Kary half-battled Luna, it was using Socks and... the shiny Swablu with the pimpin' hat whose name escapes me. 8D))
Kary blinked and looked up at the Raichu on her head.
"Why hello there. Friendly little thing, aren't you?" The trainer said with a laugh before answering Luna. "Yeah, I was on my way there when I remembered the sunblock. Suppose I ought to grab that and go before I'm stuck in Katarina for the swarm, eh?"
Gently, Kary picked up ChuChu and placed her on the ground. "Oh, was ChuChu her name or were you trying to communicate?" She asked, making an attempt at humor.

"Haha, yeah, her name is ChuChu, the silly Raichu," Luna declared, lifting the pokemon from Kary's head. ChuChu crawled up Luna's arm and returned to her position on Luna's shoulder.
"You should, don't want to miss out on the swarm! If you want, I could give you a ride on my Pidgeot. It'd be a lot faster and you could probably beat the rush there. Oh, but first the sunblock right? Burn heals should be in aisle 2..."

The pink-haired healer gave Ridley a curious look, skepticism written all over his face, the corners of his lips curled in a slightly amused smile. It was hard not to enjoy the rocket's company, and he was already praising whatever gods were listening for this rainy-day happenstance. The flush on his cheeks drew a soft laugh from Liam's lips, slightly less amiable than one might have preferred, the sound almost like a snicker at the other's expense. Then again, that was mostly his way -- it was often hard to tell what he was thinking most of the time, although blue eyes usually gave telling hints. Now, they were focused completely on the rocket, intensely interested and, by the way he kept glancing at him, reading his body language curiously.
Liam had gone still when Ridley had said it would probably be boring and a waist of time, his expression blankly neutral, although it was obvious he wanted to quirk an eyebrow at the statements. His shoulders relaxed, however, at the following admission, and he smirked again, reaching forward to pick up the coffee cup, taking a sip and staring at the other from over the rim. "I'm sure it would," He replied, letting his cheek rest on his closed fist, elbow on the arm of the metal wire chair, "We had a lot of fun last time, didn't we?"
They had had fun. Thinking back on it, he couldn't help but grin at the escapades they'd had, back in that forest. The wagon rides had actually been entertaining. He certainly wouldn't mind another go with Ridley. For old time's sake. Hell, he even had one of the tauros with him from that trip.
"Hm, yeah, I have him here now. I've been carrying him around recently, since I've been traveling out of the city a lot," he answered casually, just a hint of suspicion lacing his voice. It was gone a second later, however, and he uncrossed his legs, leaning forward and folding his arms on the table, closer to the ebony-haired boy, "You? You really seemed to love that thing, what with the races and all."

Mriae The Byzantium-haired girl couldn't help but blink when he mentioned the money. Why hadn't she taken that into consideration. It was a valid concern since, after all, not all trainers were made of money (nor might all of them save what they made like she had a tendency to do). All she could do was chuckle at this, sheepishly rubbing the back of her head with a hand. "Money, right! You might just want to get a potion and maybe an antidote and paralyze heal, then. Or just a potion and some food."
She and Fubuki nodded at this. If Dace was really in need of medical supplies, then there were always herbs that could be found in the woods if he knew what to look for. Those could be just as good as potions sometimes, and not only that, but they were free! Perhaps her latter suggestion would suit the boy's taste more. The bare minimum was better than nothing, right? TAG TO RAI AS WELL He grinned at Miri, rather glad that she understood where he was coming from. Often enough, he had been teased because of his penny-pinching ways. He had money, most agreeably, but truly, he hated parting with it! She he nodded when she offered him the basics, and quickly moved to pick the things that he needed and held them close to his chest.
"Well, I think this is what I need then?" he mused, slowly moving towards the cashier with the two ladies.
And as they walked to the register, he responded to Alex, nearly laughing at how excited she got. She was off on her own, and he made a note that she was easily distracted. It was a funny trait, for sure!
He carefully placed his items down, wincing as he heard the price, and grudgingly paying for them. He then glanced at the two and smiled widely. "Thank you so much for the help, Miri, and Alex, I do hope you can find more types of Eevee. Maybe we can go together to look for them once we reach Motterossa?"
The invite was to both of them, and he sounded sincere. Like he really wanted to hang with them.

"That's nice of you, but I wouldn't want to impose. Besides, going in a big group sounds like more of an adventure." Kary said with a smile, then started to walk to the second aisle, beckoning Luna to follow. "You said you needed some, too, right... Ah, sorry, I didn't ask your name, did I? I'm Kary."

Great. Rain. Penelope hated the rain. Unfortunately for her, today was the day to get pokemon from the Pokemon Express. They were leaving for Motterossa soon, and if she didn't get there, she wouldn't get a ride.
The trainer entered the reception area for the Pokemon Express. Her lilac-colored hair was dark with rain water and clung to her head, face, and back. She was soaked. Around her shoulders there was an equally soaked Linoon who looked none too pleased. His fur was matted and he resembled a drowned rattata. She approached Bill.
The jolly rancher handed her a form, which she signed and handed back, along with the rental fee for an Onix. She was to go pick out which Onix was to be her mount from the stables. But first, she'd dry off some.
She noticed there were a few trainers hanging around in the same area as she was. She flashed a friendly smile and waved at the group. What better way to pass the time than to chat up some people?

Alex stopped talking once she noticed they has started to walk to the front.
"That would be great. Safety in numbers right?" She dumped her few purchases on the counter and payed.
"I still have to pick up my rental pokemon though. They said I should grab it as soon as I could."

Ridley flushed a little more when Liam laughed at him, knowing he'd been caught, but he knew his attentions were not unwelcome. Liam could have completely shut him down but he was bright and interested. The Rocket was eager to talk him out of those wet clothes. The way that Liam was watching him so closely was encouragement enough. Seeing his face go blank hurt Ridley in more places than one, so he was pleased and relieved that the smirk soon returned. He had Liam's full interest.
And Liam had his, with the Rocket enjoying his presence, appreciating him, and he grinned, nodding when the healer asked if they'd had fun. "Yeah, we did. It was a little bit of a ********. But it was fun," he winked at him. His smile broadened as Liam confirmed that he still had his Tauros, amused that the healer was carrying him with him. He wasn't one to believe in fate, but damn.
The note of suspicion in Liam's tone made him alert, and he looked at him, just in time to see Liam uncross his legs and lean towards him, tilting an elbow onto the table and propping up his chin a moment later, grinning coyly at Liam.
"Yeah, me and Soulcrusher are good old buddies now. I don't regret having him for a day. Does rodeos well, too," he remarked, lifting his other hand and resting his fingers on Liam's wet arm, brushing the damp skin. "The group isn't leaving for Motterossa until the rain lets up," Ridley said in a slightly lower tone, his eyes warm. "We could get some supplies together for you?" he quirked an eyebrow at him.

Dace smiled at Alex again, and nodded. "Indeed. Safety in numbers is always best!", he chuckled lightly then, as if he had found something funny, but his attitude seemed to say that it wasn't something to question.
When she mentioned grabbing her rental pokemon, Dace made a face. Ugh, waiting in line! He hated waiting, so he gave a sigh and patted her shoulder, "I feel bad for you, I grabbed mine already, thankfully," actually, that was a lie. He planned get it after he called his family. Which he hoped to do soon.
"So, I suppose that means that we may be splitting ways soon? If so, I do hope to see you later, Alex," another smile as he grabbed his bag.

and rai, i might be heading out soon. its late late late here. Miriam watched intently as the store clerk helped her with her items. Like she had told Dace, she had decided to purchase a few of the main kinds of heals, a pack of potions, some berries, and a bunch of all-purpose pokemon food. The journey she had ahead of her was a long one, and all of these provisions were necessary. When all of her items were rung up, the Ranger then handed the cashier the appropriate amount of money. With her newly bagged items in hand, she then turned her attention to the boy and the other girl he had been speaking with the entire time.
"In terms of traveling, I'll have to see," she explained as she handed Fubuki one of the lighter parcels. Given that Delibirds were delivery pokemon, he liked to help his trainer carry her groceries whenever he could. It made him feel useful. "I'm traveling on my own, so I'd like to try and get to Motterossa at a decent pace." She then shrugged her shoulders before chuckling. "If I see you on the way, though, I'll definitely be sure to stop by."
And with that, the pokemon ranger made her way to the exit of the store. There were a few other places she needed to buy things at before starting to pack up, so it was time for her to take her leave of the mart for the time being. "I have to go get some other things, but perhaps I'll see you later? It was nice meeting you, Dace. C'mon, Fubuki." The delibird promptly scuttled along behind his trainer, but not before flicking the grunt a wave of his wing. Even if they might see each other again, it was always proper to give a polite goodbye, and Miri's starter wanted to end things on a good note. He could only hope the boy's journey went as well as Miri's would. It was his first time out, after all.

Alex grimaced at his face when she mentioned picking it up. And the hint of a blush started to creep across her face when he patted her on the shoulder.
"I just hope there are still some left!" She picked up her bag and turned to the exit.
"Yeah, I should probably run off to grab a rental before they are all gone." She smiled at him warmly her cheeks still flushed, "I'll look for you when we set out!" and with that she darted away, not quite running until out the doors and into the driving rain. Her large hiking bag bobbing in the rain.

"Eh?" Kary stuck her hand out and shook hands with the gym leader. "I think you may have hijacked me for a battle once." She laughed before looking over the products on the shelves.
"Whoa," She muttered, picking up one of the many tubes, "Am I really going to need SPF 100?" The trainer paused. "Does it cost more?" She added, looking down at the different prices, her eyes obscured by her hat.
