Bataar couldn't help but look faintly relieved as Jianyu admitted that no, he was not angry. He wasn't sure why it should be such a relief, but it seemed to make enough sense emotionally, and so he chose to go with the feeling. As upset as this was making both his chest and his head, he couldn't help himself. He couldn't move away from the situation with some stupid comment or anything of the sort. He grimaced to himself, momentarily trying to come to terms with the idea of his odd behaviors toward Jianyu and failing.

"You're the one who's sick." he mumbled quietly, reaching to toy with a strand of the Legionnaire's hair. All he had to do was assure himself that this was perfectly normal, and then he could get along just fine. There was no need to go with his gut and decide that this was special.

Was there?

He listened to Jianyu's sigh and frowned at his words, shaking his own head as if to clear it. "Well," he muttered. "I thought we were going on another date?"

"Another date?" Jianyu repeated, not moving away from Bataar. As much as he disliked admitting it, he rather enjoyed standing so near to him. However, his head was obviously not in tune with what his emotions were thinking, and the thought irritated him.

"Bataar.." Jianyu said quietly, his fingers resting against the Lunarian's chest. "Can you really do this? Be in a relationship, I mean. A serious one. Is it possible for you to even take me seriously? I never know...what you are thinking. And that is what worries me."

Bataar believed the idea of another date sounded perfectly reasonable, especially from what Jianyu had been saying. He'd wanted some kind of "normal" date, hadn't he? The suggestion seemed good enough now that Bat knew what the legionnaire had expected. ...But then again, he didn't quite know, did he? What was a normal date considered to be? "That's what you wanted, right?" he asked, looking faintly confused.

His expression of confusion only grew as Jianyu started to speak. He watched the other Lunarian, looking somewhat alienated as he listened to his doubts about their relationship. One minute, Bat thought things were going fine, then the next they'd all gone to hell again.

"There's nothing wrong with the way I'm treating this. What about you?"

He leveled a piercing gaze in Jianyu's direction, a frown painting itself on his features. Once again, he simply didn't see the problem. He didn't see himself as a danger to their relationship, and couldn't possibly comprehend why Jianyu did. He was being sincere, but it wasn't seeming to work. He didn't feel as if it were fair.

Jianyu's eyes narrowed slightly as he scrutinized Bataar. For the first time since he'd met the other Lunarian, he seemed sincere in what he was saying. Which, perhaps, was the most unusual thing about the day so far. It meant that maybe, just maybe, Bataar might actually be serious for once in his life.

Or maybe it meant that he was secretly plotting something. Either way, Jianyu would take what he could get.

"I trust you." Jianyu said softly, and stood a bit higher, pressing a light kiss to Bataar's cheek. "Perhaps we should figure out what to do for that second date, shall we?"

He had never expected their second date to be anything like this.

Then again, it was true that neither of them had expected to get smashed, either. Somewhere in between trying to find a proper place for a date, they'd both ended up at a bar, and they'd certainly taken advantage of the supply of alcohol. It was easy to assume that they'd both been frustrated enough with each other to start drinking, and now they were in quite a predicament. Neither of them could walk straight, let alone talk without slurring their words spectacularly.

"Jianyu!" Bataar exclaimed, brushing his fingers along the tattoos adorning the other Lunarian's face. "I wanna tattoo." With as much booze as he'd consumed, he no longer had much regard for what he was doing. Whatever struck him seemed like a smart thing to do.

He was going to regret this in the morning.

Jianyu had never been one to hold his alcohol well. His father only gave his sons a glass of rice wine on holiday occasions, and although some of the men that Jianyu trained with often invited him out to drink, he had never accepted, and for good reason. The men in question would often return staggering, red-faced, and singing innapropriate songs with rather raucous and off-key voices. Jianyu had never quite found it appealing.

Except for today.

"Bataaaarrrrr," Jianyu said, grinning as he slung his arms around the other man's neck and pressed himself close. "You wanna tattoo? Whaddaya say we go get one for you, eh?"

Pressing a kiss to the other man's lips, Jianyu took him by the hand and dragged him from the bar, stumbling out into the open road. He started to lead the way down towards his father's tattoo parlor before stopping abruptly, turning back and colliding with Bataar.

"No!" he said vehemently, shaking his head. "We can't go there. Let's find 'nother place to go, mmkay? I think...I think there's one on the street over..."

Bataar had the ability to hold alcohol, but the sheer amount of it coupled with his already dense head was causing him to make all sorts of terrible decisions. He kissed Jianyu back, looking absolutely delighted at the other man's proposal, failing to recall that it had been his own idea just moments ago. "C'mon then!" he slurred, slinging an arm around Jianyu's shoulder once they'd made it out onto the street, where many Lunarians were trying to avoid their stumbling steps.

"Can't go where?" he questioned, although he didn't look as if he cared too much as they started off in a different direction than where they'd been going. Any tattoo parlor would do, he was sure! One thing that held true was that tattoos were, of course, epicly manly! Like, barb-wire or something! Of course, Bataar had no idea that he would soon be caving into the idea of getting matching tramp-stamps with Jianyu.

He followed Jianyu along, grinning as the facade of the tattoo shop came into view. "Hurry up! Let's do this!"

Laughing lightly, Jianyu half-walked, half-staggered down the small worn path towards the tattoo house, swinging Bataar's hand cheerfully as he did so. The alcohol had dulled his senses, made him feel giddy and happy for the first time in a long time, and so far nothing could break him of his positive personna at the moment.

Stopping just outside the door to the tattoo parlor, Jianyu turned, reaching up to drag Bataar's head down and kiss him deeply, a smile curving on his lips.

"You're kinda 'tractive when you're excited." Jianyu murmured, then laughed. Pulling away, he grinned up at Bataar, then pushed open the door to the tattoo parlor, letting go of Bataar's hand so that he could lean against the front counter.

"My friend and I here would like to get...like to get tattoos." he said, gesturing lazily back towards Bataar. The man at the desk, looking quite bored, nodded and directed them back to a secure private room with two beds. The tattoo artists were standing and waiting beside them.

Jianyu turned back to Bataar, raising one dark eyebrow.

"Well?" he asked, grinning.

The rays of sunlight were like laser beams slicing into his vision; beyond that, Bataar had a terrible headache and the small of his back stung painfully. It would take the man some time to remember just how much he'd had to drink the night before, and it wasn't likely that he'd ever really remember how he'd gotten the tramp stamp that was illustrated with an arrow going through a heart, as well as Jianyu's name in scripted letters. He'd actually failed to notice its presence thus far, however, and was more concerned with the pain that it caused.

He groaned, moving to cover his eyes with some desperation before realizing that there was another figure sleeping soundly on the futon beside him. "Oh, s**t. Jianyu?" he mumbled, shaking the Legionnaire with a tiny little frown upon his face. He had been quick to suspect that the other man was responsible for the pain in the small of his back, and he was quite displeased.

It took him a while to figure out just what the issue might be.

"You... YOU RAPED ME? AGAIN?"

Jianyu was not particularly pleased at the brightness of the sun that seemed to cut right through his eyelids to burn into his eyes. It was extraordinarily bright and hot, and Jianyu raised a hand to cover his eyes, letting out an irritated groan. His head ached, as well as his back and Jianyu felt warm fingers touch his bare shoulder, shaking him. There was a familiar, solid warmth at his back, and Jianyu opened his eyes.

"Mmm?" he said sleepily, turning around. His eyes fell onto the shocked expression of none other than Bataar.

"What the hell - ?!" Jianyu screeched, his face flaming as he shoved away from the other man, pulling the blanket up to his chest protectively. This...was not what he had expected to wake up to.

And there was the added fact that his back was aching profusely. Jianyu raised his eyes to meet Bataar's and a jolt of realization shot through him.

"You...you RAPED ME?!" he yelled, just as Bataar yelled the same thing. Jianyu's blush rose.

"What the hell, Bataar?!"

Wait a minute! He hadn't done anything! Bataar had the good grace to appear rather offended as he regarded Jianyu, his lips pulled down in a pronounced frown. "Me? Oh, no, I think you'll find that you are the rapist here." he replied with vehemence, trying his hardest not to look like an insecure rape victim. He really couldn't remember much beyond the bar they'd gone to yesterday, and was beginning to be filled with doubt.

What had happened?

"Wait, can you actually remember anything?" he asked, holding his head groggily. He was beginning to notice that the room they were in seemed oddly familiar; surely he'd spent a night or two here before? He narrowed his eyes in concentration, finally coming to the realization that they'd somehow made it to the ryokan owned by Yuudai's family.

It didn't even occur to him to be horrified that he was now craving a bath to help out his pounding head.

"Who would even want to rape you?" Jianyu said with disgust as he raised a hand to run it through sleep-tangled hair. His face was flushed, and though his back and head were pounding, for the life of him, he could not seem to remember what had happened the night previous. He glanced over at the sleepy, pained face of Bataar as the Mongol held his head.

Did we...actually...? Jianyu's face turned a brilliant scarlet and he looked down at himself quickly. He was still dressed, although the front of his tunic was unbuttoned, but other than that he was fully clothed. Bataar was as well, so they couldn't have...could they?

"No." Jianyu said, his fingers pressing against his temple in an effort to stop the massive pain from reverberating throughout his skull. "No, I can't remember anything at all."

"Well, you seem like the type to sneak up on a guy while he's not looking!" Bataar accused, his expression rather disdainful as he regarded his "girlfriend." He himself was neither as panicked nor as worried as Jianyu was, for his thoughts on the matter of waking up with aches, pains, and a headache were far more overpowering than any worries about actually having gotten a little too friendly with the legionnaire.

So neither of them could remember anything? Bataar frowned, standing a little shakily and casting his gaze about the room. There wasn't much they could do about the night before, and at present he wanted only to relax and primarily to get rid of his headache. Yuudai was sure to have something, and Bat was assuming he'd find the student downstairs.

After stretching, he spoke. "I'm going down to see if they have any painkillers or something." Bataar sure as hell hoped they did. "And... I might take a bath." he added in a mumble, having largely gotten over his phobia since he'd met Yuudai; it was bathe or starve.

He'd chosen to deal with the lesser of the two evils as he trotted down to find the inn-keeper's son.

"I'm not you." Jianyu snapped, glaring at Bataar. "I do not randomly 'attack' people."

His hand pressed against his head; a vain attempt to try and stop the immense pounding that kept beating against his skull. The ache in his lower back was unusual, and for the life of him Jianyu could not figure out why that was. He could not twist his arm that far back, so he couldn't rub at the spot that hurt, which was quite unfortunate.

He raised an eyebrow. "Something really must be wrong if you are actually willing to consider having a bath." he said dryly, and then added reluctantly "I will join you in a moment."

Jianyu glanced around at the unfamiliar place. He was not sure exactly of where he was, but it was clear that it was an inn of sorts. Perhaps he would figure out exactly which inn once he had managed to bathe and clear his thoughts.

Standing up, Jianyu stretched, then with a yawn, walked out the door in search of Bataar.
