Back at her shack, Mariah took a quick shower and brushed her teeth before going outside to sit on the hammock. Atesia was in deep sleep mode, lying curled up in the half-shelter Mariah had built earlier that summer. After around an hour, Mariah decided that after picking up her schedule and assignments the next day she would compile a master list of all that needed to be purchased. Shopping. Ugh. I can understand back-to-school shopping, but the way Neti fantasizes over it is revolting. Hopefully I don't run into her and Danella tomorrow.

Danica went back to her shared room and sat awake for a while thinking about Danella and Neti. If she was able to hang with Mariah she hoped she wouldn't run into them.
Danella fell asleep later that night after doing homework.

When morning dawned, Atesia awoke, well-rested and content after a fitful rest. He found a few small apples near him and ate them slowly, looking around the now-familiar backyard that was his home.
Here was the large half-shelter and next to it, the shed. In front of him was the shack, on which he could see a hammock, and next to which he could see various boxes and crates and tables that had been moved outside. Behind him he knew was a stretch of open grass, fenced off by a tall, unpainted fence. In one corner was an artificial pond, and along all sides of the inside of the fence was various crop--trees, bushes, grains--all neatly organized and maintained.
There was one giant window that faced the backyard--the bedroom window. And when the sun was high enough, rays of light would flitter through the glass and into the room, stirring it's occupant awake.
Agh... Mariah stretched, yawning and getting up. After the normal daily routine--which included eating breakfast outside with Atesia, she jammed her cell phone in her pocket, locked the gate and was out. Within 15 minutes of power-walking, she was in town. As she had planned, she acquired her schedule and assignments early.
On the way back she looked the assignments and necessary materials. When she returned home, she found paper and ink and jotted down the materials listed there that she had yet to buy. Following this, she went on a hunt around the house to find items that needed to be replenished in stock and scribbled those down as well.
By lunchtime, she was eating noodles while flipping through the newspaper for sales and discounts.

Nefertiti's day began with the alarm clock. Scratch that. It began with the doomed servant who each day had to enter Neti's room, draw open the curtains and bid the girl to wake up. If she managed to do so, Neti would order breakfast between yawns and throwing dejected clothes around. Whatever she had ordered was expected to be ready on the table by the time she had finished dressing and applying makeup.
When this was finished, Neti would rummage through her oversized, walk-in closet and storage room and take out the clothes she didn't feel like wearing and pack them into boxes to stored until the next town trade-off.
When this too was finished, Neti would amuse herself however she felt inclined--television, phone, computer, however. There were no plans in her life. Everything was as she wanted it, when she wanted it.
Today however, she had bigger plans. With a good few hundred dollars in her purse, Neti waited outside the diner for her friend--who she still thought was the original Danica--excited for the shopping spree that awaited her.

Danica got up from her bottom bunk and looked around the shabby trashed room. She sighed and went to the connecting bath room. She took a cold shower and got dressed. She combed most the knots out of her hair with her hands and then borrowed a hairbrush. She pulled on her best clothes she had and grabbed her 100$. She walked down the street and saw Mariah's double. She turned her back and walked pracically in a circle for a minute then continued on to Mariah's house.
Danella got up and looked at her purple room. She good a nice warm shower, put on a pink mini skirt and a holter top. She applied her make-up percisely and grabbed her high heeled sandals with her sparkley purse, which had over 200$ in it, and was out the door to the diner.

Mariah was sitting in the kitchenette deciding how much bread she would need when she heard a knock on the door. That must be Danica. It's such an odd thing having a visitor Pad and pen still in hand, she looked through the window just to check and opened the door. "Hello! Welcome to my humble abode," she greeted. "Please, come on in.
"Help yourself to something from the refrigerator," Mariah offered, setting the pad and pen down on the counter. "there's not much though, I'm afraid. I need to restock. Anyways, where do you want to go? Or do you just want to talk?"

Danica smiled. "No it's fine. I already had some breakfast." She replied sitting down. "I don't care where we go, I could help you shop. I know a few bargan stores that are really good and cheap." She sat smiling at her friend.

Mariah grinned at the offer. "That'd be nice. In return, I could probably get you free tickets to the athletic events."
She looked over her list and decided it was complete. "Not just swim, ice-skating and horse- racing," she added. "Any sport."[/colot]

Danella walked into the diner and saw Neti. "Hey! Mariah!"

Neti waved to Danella joyfully. "Are you ready?" she asked giddily. The moment the mall doors opened, Neti led the way through the halls.
A few hours of "Ooh"s and "Ahh"s and "I like that"s and "Too expensive"s and "Isn't there a designer version of this?"s and "Dang, check out that guy--nice butt or what?"s later, Neti mentioned. "Oh, did I tell you? My mother started calling me Nefertiti since my great change for the better. Or Neti for short." With a smug smile, she added, "It means 'Perfection has arrived'."
Mariah grinned, "That can be arranged too," she said. "In that case, we better get going. I want to get this shopping thing over with."
She hooked up a cart to Atesia and the two of them set off for the city.

Danella laughed. "That's fine, my parents call me Danella now. It's a much prettier name than Danica." She said grining ar her friend.
Danica nodded and was ready to go.

"It is!" Neti agreed. "I like my new name more too."
She was flipping through the racks for "back-to-school clothes" when she let out a squeal that made the shopkeeper jump. "OH MY GOSH!" she cried, holding the cloth that had caused the commotion. "Isn't this bikini like that cutest thing ever? And bikinis are SOOooo in!"

Leaving Atsia by a post outside the shops, Mariah led the way into a shop. She handed a duplicate copy of the list to Danica and began the search for items quickly.

Danella squealed. "IT IS! OMG! You gotta buy that!" She saied so happy and pleased.
Danica found most the items relitively easy and returned to Mariah. "Here ya go."
