Staring over at Neko, Blade rolled his eyes. There was no way there was a snake that big around here. But at least it seemed that everyone wasn't freaking out about the snake. In fact, the strange white haired girl wanted to go catch it!
"Might as well... don't have anything better to do here," he muttered to himself while moving to follow her into the woods.

"okay?!" poke squeaked. Okay!?!?1 she just said to the girl that the snake could kill her, and she was okay about it?! she must of been very brave..
Then neko told them how big the snake was.. "Ah!! Noo!" She almost squeaked, running to mitsu and grabbing her tail before she could go any further "We can't go and catch it!! it would eat us all up!".

Mid-way through climbing over the log, Poke grabbed Mitsu's tail freezing her on the spot. "But it didn't eat the boy over there." Mitsu pointed out trying to wiggle her tail free. It really was an uncomfortable feeling having someone hold your tail. "Besides if we catch it then it can't catch us." Mitsu logic was sound to her own mind.

A ten foot snake. Really now? Atticus couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the boy's frantic description of the reptile.
Very carefully, he sat the boy up along with himself. "Alright, calm down. Nice, slow, deep breaths." The boy was obviously exaggerating, but he wasn't going to call him out and make him panic more. He was a doctor, after all. He was supposed to make people better. Physically, at least.
He vaguely heard the children going on about catching it. "Just because a snake is small doesn't mean it can't be deadly." He warned, but gave no further information.
Riyo gave an awkward nod as Poke repeated what she'd said in a questioning tone. That... Is what she'd just said. She couldn't help but turn her head when the little girl with white hair started talking about finding the snake. Maybe she could go with them... Maybe she could be of some help! Maybe...
She... She wouldn't do that. She had these thoughts before... And she remembered where they'd landed her.
Instead of joining the other children, she sat a few feet away from the older boy and the adult, watching them carefully for any sign that she needed to run. it was sort of hard juggling the cat doll and the puppy in her arms, but she would manage.

Blade listened to everyone as they spoke up on the situation with the snake. Whether they went and hunted it down or not wasn't that big of a deal to him. He just wanted something to do, though perhaps it would be better if he didn't go since it seemed that the whole thing was getting quite a bit of attention.
"Whatever," he mumbled with a frown, "The snake was probably just a worm or something anyway. There's nothing exciting about catching one of those."

"y- yeah but..." poke paused, trying to make her own logical points about why they should go and get eaten. "he was really fast, yeah! and and what if we can't catch it? it could curl around us and squeeze us to death!"
When atticus said the snake could be deadly she pointed at the adult "see? the adult says it's deadly, so it must be!"

Mitsu only grumbled as she slid back off the log and landed on her rear. Well, this was no fun. "Well, I'm bored.....and hungry. Scaredy Cat said he was going to get food and came back with squat." For a four year old she was rather mouthy.
"Hey, I promised you nothing!" Neko yelled standing to his feet. "Stupid dogs should learn to fend for themselves!"
"And Scaredy Cat's shouldn't be afraid of worms," Mitsu shot back , sticking out her tongue and blowing raspberries.
"It wasn't a worm you little brat!" Red in the face Neko shot up ready to fight. Who cared that the fight involved a much smaller child.
Tobi, being shifted, merely yawned and gave a stretch. He was nice and warm at this point...very comfortable.

"Who's yelling at girls now?" shot Blade as he glared at Neko, remembering that the boy had yelled at him earlier for snapping at Poke. People were so fickle. It was probably better that he just wander off on his own at this point. But for now he stuck around in case something stirred up.
Besides... he was feeling pretty hungry himself. Maybe he should try and find food on his own. Only problem there was the fact that he really didn't know how to hunt or forage. Well... he knew one type of berry that was edible but that was about it. No telling of those existed in this forest.

"She started it!" Neko tried to defend himself. Being called out wasn't something he was used to.
"Scaredy Cat, Scaredy Cat!" Mitsu chimed over and over again. Being called a brat didn't seemed to register...or it didn't phase her. Either way she wasn't afraid to throw something back. "Probably wasn't even a worm. Probably just a stick."
The anger in Neko's eyes was apparent as he looked around quickly to locate his knife. Finding it by the tree not far off he raced over to pick it up before he turned back to the girl. "Fine, you want to go see for yourself?"
"I don't think there's anything to see." Mitsu shot back, placing her little hands on her hips, attitude apparent on her face.
Growling in frustration, Neko started to march over toward her, the knife forgotten in his hand. His idea was just to grab hold of her and drag her to where he had seen the snake but that wasn't what Mitsu saw. She saw he was mad and was coming at her with a sharp object. She had seen people hurt each other with those and suddenly was fearful....but not quietly. Letting out a scream Mitsu ran toward the only adult and hid behind his leg.
The scream instantly woke Tobi from his sleep and he jerked and wiggled as he came too. What was going on? What was that horrible noise? Letting out a panicked yip of his own he continued to move to get free.

The only appropriate way to think of the situation was with one cliche line used in almost every book as it reached the climax: "And then all hell broke loose."
Atticus had been about to say something to quell both tiny battling titans, but was quickly stopped by Mitsu's taunts at Neko. Perhaps he should just let them work it out? One of them would start crying sooner or later and they would apologize, asd kids usually did. At least, that's what he thought.
Neko's intentions weren't exactly clear to him either as he grabbed the knife out of the tree and marched towards the small girl. "Now wait a second-" He'd began, watching Mitsu as she took shelter behind his legs. That scream was rather painful to the ears, wasn't it?
Riyo's eyes widened as the wolf girl screamed and the cat boy held a knife. This was familiar. So familiar. Not what one would call Deja Vu, but just a twinge of recognition that something like this had happened in a different perspective.
She barely noticed when Tobi left her lap.
Riyo's gaze dulled out as she stared at the knife. Something about that shape made her feel terrible. Emotions from the bottom of her gut swelled up. She felt hot. That shape. Perhaps... It would be the end of her.

poke was left standing there as the doggy and the kitty people were fighting amongst themselves. This wasn't unusual; she knew cats and dogs didn't like each other, so they would tend to fight more then others. Although it left her the predicament of what to do next.
Then neko had picked up a knife and walked towards the dog girl. Poke gasped. She didn't know neko didn't like dogs that much.
"W-what are you doing?!?!" she squeaked, watching mitsu scream and hide behind the adult. Poke then noticed the puppy had gotten lose from the kitty and was trying to run away. "Hey! don't run away puppy!" she called out to the animal.

As the cat and dog fought, Blade glanced between the two. They were both being kinda stupid, he thought so he started to not really pay much attention to the two. However, Neko soon grabbed it once again as he pulled out a knife on the girl.
"Hah! Like you'd really have the guts to kill her," he called out. In his mind, there was no way the boy that was freaking out over a snake could really attack the girl, or anyone else for that matter.

Neko halted in confusion as everyone seemed to throw a fuss. "What?!" He was confused but no less annoyed than before as he heard Blade make his comment about having the guts to kill her. "Kill her?" He looked to his knife before he finally put it away. "I wasn't going to kill her I was going to take her to the snake."
"Liar!" Mitsu peeked around Atticus's legs, her large blue eyes fixed into a glare.
"I'm not lying," Neko retorted. "I'll take you to the snake....and then sacrifice you to it so I won't have to see your stinky face again!"
"At least I don't have a weird tail," Mitsu stuck out her tongue blowing raspberries again.
Neko visibly flinched but didn't say anything, his forked tail dropping down to swing idly behind his legs where it was mostly hidden. It was his tail and his eyes that constantly shifted in shades of gray that made him stand out...that made him different...that made him an outcast. There was nothing new in this girl's words, but they still stung none the less.
"Keh, who needs this," Neko finally huffed. Turning his back on the girl and the adult he started to make his way back to the forest. Not like he needed to stay with a group of strangers, he could take care of himself.
Tobi, now free, started to stumble / run toward the trees. There was safety in the trees! He heard a yell from behind him but that only seemed to make him run faster....or at least as fast as his little legs would take him. Finally at the edge of the forest Tobi met his first challenge, a bush. It was blocking his way but there was no time to go around it. In a hurry to escape he leaped head long into shrubbery and quickly found himself stuck, his hind legs kicking and flailing trying to get purchase on anything he could.

Atticus remained quiet as the two argued. Like he and Riyo arguing, nobody could get a word in during this grudge match...
Until Mitsu made her childish comment. He could almost see the hurt in the boy's face. One that wasn't alien to him. As the boy started walking away, Atticus stepped to the side and faced Mitsu so she could no longer hide behind him. "Well look at you, all high and mighty without a flaw in the world." His wings twitched as he spoke. Perhaps his anger wasn't visible in his face, but it was through his motions. He folded his arms and stared down at the girl.
To say she was completely wrong in this situation would be wrong. Neko had looked rather dangerous with that knife, and she had felt threatened, but he hadn't actually hurt her.
As the knife disappeared, so did Riyo's trance. Just in time to hear the wolf girl point out the abnormality of the boy. Her ears fell back against her head.
'Look at those ugly red eyes!' a childish voice called from the back of her mind. 'And that scraggly black tail. Did you get hit by lightning or something?'
Those same red eyes followed Neko as he started to leave. 'No, don't leave...' Her mind cried through the insults of the past and future. She felt compelled to follow him, a feeling which she seldom listened to...
But this time, it was too strong to ignore. The chance for understanding, no matter how small, was too desirable to pass up. Quickly, she got to her wobbling feet and chased after him, desperately trying to close the gap before he disappeared. "P-please wait!" She tried to call before he went into the forest.

So maybe he wasn't going to kill her, but the way he had approached the girl with the knife certainly seemed like that was his intention! With a 'hmph', he listened to the two bicker some more before the dog-girl commented on cat-boy's tail. He too noticed how it affected the guy.
Blade twitched slightly, as he recalled some similar experiences. Frowning, he shook his head and started to trudge off elsewhere. The cat-girl went after the other kid, so he decided to take a different route. Most likely more fights would just start up here so he figured it'd be best to get away before he started to get made fun of as well.
Once past a few of the trees, he looked around. Moss grew... on the east side of trees right? Or was it North... maybe south? He couldn't quite remember. It didn't help that his hunger was growing, making it a little harder to think. Nearby, he spotted some mushrooms growing off the base of a tree. Inching closer, he crouched down by them, wondering if they'd be safe to eat.
"Dad would know..." he muttered to himself unhappily as he continued to stare at the fungi.
