Raphael blew out a sigh in slight annoyance and darted underneath the American's machine and made it over to Fatum. See? Raphael could almost feel the patronizing tone. "Shut yerself." He mumbled and jumped up to catch the lowest armor crease in one of Fatum's legs, not really caring that he was an open target. The morning sun above was beginning to warm the iron of the Walker and he could feel the heat from where he put his hands to hoist himself higher. It only took about 10 or 15 seconds for him to nimbly climb up all the way and flip over the side of the control area and land lightly in the seat. "Rude an' impolite. Wonderful qualties for ye, Willie. But ye forgot to keep yer mind in th' right place." He jerked a lever back and the Fatum's right foot groaned at the quick movement as the left half of the machine pivoted 90 degrees, the left arm coming out to catch William's gundam's arm before it toppled over to the ground. "Ye forgot tae make sure Brazen was properly positioned so it wouldnae fall over, ye daft idjit!" Raphael's tone was more of amusement now than annoyance, especially when he saw the fearful look on William's face. He pushed the lever back into it's former place, righting William's gundam from beginning to fall to standing upright. Then he brought the Fatum's church spire weapon to bear in front of the American's machine, indicating the abbey behind him and William. "Now, Ah'd rather not fight. But if Ah have tae, Ah'd really rather not tae do it in front of a peaceful abbey. Besides the obvious fact that yoo are th' one that has a better weapon for fightin', but ye may want tae take Aishe over there somewhere else? She may, or may not, have a concussion, or serious injury."

"Be not concerned with me, Xander." Aishe had dragged herself across the ground to where William's damaged machine stood. She spat blood onto the brass plating, and reached out to lay a hand on the leg. Both her knees and one closed fist touched the Earth below. The connection was complete. Corrosion and rot spread from her palm across the cool metal, and William became aware that the knees buckled about a moment too late. Brazen fell with a crash, and Aishe was somehow spared being crushed. She stood up, and cradled a broken arm. When using the Eye, she was nearly impervious to harm, but she was not able to heal injuries inflicted when the Eye was inactive. She glowered at William with it now. "Well, shoot. I ain't fixin' to whup yer a** in fronta them kids, thar." Zeke spun each pistol once, and holstered them with his Walker's three-fingered hands. "Miss Aishe, ya need any help downnar? "I'll be fine," she lied, as she fell to one knee. The broken bone in her arm was not the most grievous of her injuries. She was not aware that a rib had punctured her lung. Zeke moved his machine to kneel, and clumsily jumped down to land in the dust beside her. He gently picked her up, and deftly carried her to the pilot's box inside his Walker's head. He laid her head on his duster, which he had folded up to make a pad. "Look after yerself, li'l Willie. We'll be watchin' ye." he said as he walked away from the town, heading for Aishe's camp.

"Sure..." Raphael smiled warmly and gave a goodbye wave to the courteous man and Aishe. "Fare ye well, ye young wee laddie an' lass!" He took a minute longer before he decided that his charge needed some help. He jumped down out of the Fatum, striding slowly over to the fallen Brazen, reaching up to touch his crescent moon necklace briefly. "Told ye Ah had a plan." He muttered aloud, not specifically to anyone. Silence answered him, besides the sounds of William attempting to crawl out from under his machine. "O' course, yoo dinnae had one." Stooping a little, he lifted a fairly heavy piece of metal that was in William's way almost effortlessly with only a small grunt. He shook his head while he dusted himself off, fixing him with a penetrating somber stare over his spectacles. "One day, that's goin' tae get ye killed, ye do know that?"

"Urgh..." William grunted as he pried himself from the bent cage that housed his controls. "It's that woman...she's got some kind of sorcery! I didn't even know she could knock over a Walker Machine, too. Well...what shall we do, now? It seems we won't be conquering the Empire alone. Shall we garner a bit more support, first?" William rubbed a lump on his head as he spoke.
Zeke found the caravan right where he left it. The other gypsies heard his heavy footfalls in the thin woods, and appeared from all sides to investigate. He carried Aishe into the camp. She moaned a little as her breathing became more labored. A pair of tall, broad shouldered men took her from his arms and carried her away. Zeke didn't question them. He'd seen these people do stranger things, so he left them to their healing. He tipped his hat at a somber-looking elder that glared at him from across the fire they had built. Then he was gone again to hide the Walker.

Leon groaned as the reinforcements did not arrive soon enough to handle the situation so he went back to the police phone and called them off. He then went over to see what Raphael and the other guy were talking about and it turns out that the guy that is with Raphael said that they needed more support if they were going to conquer the Empire. Leon wrote down the conversation down and stored it in his pants pocket to give to Lt. Hartwell later and continued to watch them.

Raphael raised an eyebrow at William, crossing his arms stiffly over his chest. "Ye bet'cha bruised arse that's what we should do. But first, ye should probably get that checked out." He let his gaze travel down to William's foot. "Besides, sorcery smorchery. Ah've seen much stranger things than that in all mah years!" He waved a reprimanding finger in the air like he was giving an important speech. Do not. Raphael rolled his eyes and started to head over to the abbey at a relaxed pace. "Th' Father can help ye with that, an' maybe wit' yer ego."

((I wonder what's the nature of Raphael's gray-lettered little friend...wait, wait, don't tell me! I want to find out from the story! )) "Well, she definitely poses a problem. Somehow, I just know she'll be back to bother us before too long. And there's that barbaric lackey of hers, as well. My guess is that he's American, judging by how he shoots." William absentmindedly checked the pocketwatch again. He chose to ignore the remark about his ego, and followed Raphael into the church. ((you know, I have put more effort into this RP than any other I've been a part of. I've been researching dates and history and everything, to make my characters believable. The gypsy woman's name is an actual Romani name. Hooray for literary research! ))

((I was wondering when you'd wonder about that! =D It be un secreto of many he has. *winks* Lol, I haven't, besides the glasses and the Nordenfelt, mine's almost completely fictional! *high fives*))
"Possibly, possibly..." Raphael commented before stopping to knock politely on the closed abbey doors as they swung open. The little girl named Kate came out to grab his legs in a hug. "Now, Ah wouldnae call the lad barbaric. He's rather polite." He balanced Kate on his hip as the Abbot began to usher the children off to breakfast. "How're ye this fine morn, Father?" "After a night's sleep well. And who might this be?" The Abbot inquired, looking curiously at William.

((I figured you had something in store, I was just waiting to see what it was To be quite honest...I kinda hate William, so I'm purposely writing him out to be a total douchebag, because I've never had a character like that before. It's going to be quite satisfying to *SPOILER ALERT* kill him at the end. lol)) William nodded curtly at the abbot. "William Cruxely, Father." He silently wondered if the abbot had ever abused any of the children. He shrugged and decided that he didn't care. "You sleep like the dead, sir, to have slept so well through our little tussle early this morning."

((Oh, ja. Lul, you should make it like a Light Yagami death scene. XD Or, you could make a new bad guy. Heh heh, aren't douchebag charries fun to RP as?))
A small smile found it's way to the Abbot's tired face as he nodded in agreement. "Yes, some of the Sisters have told me that. But I was actually up for most of the night." He dug into the side of his robe and pulled out some paperwork, handing it over to Raphael. "It took longer than I anticipated." Raphael took the papers and stuffed them between his undershirt and button-up one before the curious Kate could see them. "Thank ye, yer a true lifesaver." He heard his stomach rumble and lowered his head down in embarrassment. "If ye could do me another favor though..." "You may both help yourself to breakfast if you wish.", the Abbot said kindly before taking Kate from Raphael and going to the dining hall. Raphael gestured for William to follow him, whispering to him as he did so, seeing the glint in his eyes. "For God's sake, wait fer the morn's prayer 'fore diggin' in."

William muttered his compliance and walked behind Raphael and the abbot. He felt his lip curl in mild disgust as the laughing children made noise in the hallway on the way to the dining room. He hated children. He only saw them as an unfortunate but necessary phase in one's development. As he walked, he found himself wishing quietly that Aishe would die of her injuries. That would make one less thing to worry about. Then he would only have the American to contend with. His thoughts continued to wander as the group sat down to eat. He didn't bother to bow his head as they prayed. Since he was of the opinion that God was only a watcher, he saw no reason to talk to Him. He loudly wound his watch during the prayer, earning a glower from the abbot when he finished.

((I'll take that as a yes.))
What a fine companion you have paired yourself up with. I didn't pair myself up with him, remember? Raphael raised his head as the Abbot indicated they could eat. He'd kept his hands linked in his lap instead of folded in prayer. He had his own reasons for his beliefs, though he told the Abbot otherwise. One man's faith was another's guide. While he picked up a few rolls from the basket before passing it around, he nudged William hard in ribs with his elbow. "Cheer up, Willie. Food's food." The orange juice's tart scent made his mouth water a little when he raised a glass to his lips, hearing the crinkle of the papers from the movement. He felt a little uncomfortable with them there, but until he could go off somewhere, it was much better to keep them hidden. "Father," Raphael said after setting the glass down. "How have th' funds been doin' for this place?" "Varying. Those troublemakers always seem to take it right out of the box. May God have mercy on their souls." The Abbot sighed and passed a hand over his face. Raphael frowned, realizing the truth. He dug into a pocket for something, muttering a 'Aw, cripe, where'd Ah put it?' before taking out and handing a healthy amount of currency to the Abbot. The man looked flustered, shaking his head. "Agh, Ah've no use of it mahself. 'Sides, it's for the kiddies." The Abbot sighed again, giving him thanks while taking it gently. "Bless you." "Ah sure need it Father." Raphael went to eating his food on his plate then.

((You'll take what as a yes? Did I miss something?)) William winced at the sensation of Raphael's sharp elbow in his ribs. He picked up a few items from the table in front of him and ate. He pointed a fork at the slight bulge in Raphael's shirt. "What's all that, then?"

((That's it's fun to play as douchebag charries. XD))
"Nothin' ye need tae worry much about. Just some paperwork Ah had to get approved by someone who trusted me so Ah could submit it properly." Raphael explained casually, while wolfing down his food in record timing. He adopted a sheepish look as he noticed when one of the Brothers sitting across from him jaw dropped at the speed. "Brother Simon..." The Brother stammered his apologies and glanced away in shame.
