Squad 5 --Kidō Specialists-- Amaranth Trammel Captain of Squad 5 Kidō Commander Pulling back her hand as Anya squirmed on her shoulder, Amaranth watched as the twin-tailed cat launched herself away, a white flash engulfing her soon after landing. As Anya emerged from the flash of light in her humanoid form, Amaranth stepped forwards slightly, purple eyes focused on her former Captain's hands as she began an incantation, blue energy flaring around her as she unleashed a Kido. Moving to one side, to get a better view, she watched intently as a rock was restructured, there sheer power reforming it completely into a sword.
Blinking slightly at what came next, Amaranth's expression shifted into one of approval to surprise, not expecting that even the former Kido Master would decide to use a Forbidden Kido in plain sight. Although, being Kido, an art already looked down upon by many, and the fact that the technique was... well, forbidden, there were likely only a few people who would recognise it. Regardless, the Kido Commander's surprise soon vanished, a mixture of approval and slight envy manifesting on her face as she watched the high-level technique performed with ease.
Returning to her original position once Anya finished with her Kido, Amaranth idly reached down to her pouch, almost withdrawing a cookie before realising that it probably wasn't the best time to have a snack. Instead moving her hand to join the other, clasping them together over the book she held, the pale redhead watched as one final group of Shinigami arrived, before the Fourth Division Captain stood forward.
Tilting her head slightly as a thought suddenly crossed her mind, Amaranth moved to the front of the assembled Shinigami, holding out her right hand as her purple reiatsu flared, condensing into streaks along both arms. Extending the range to encompass the entirety of Soul Society, she softly muttered "Bakudo #77: Tenteikūra", before falling silent, holding the plane of energy in place. As Jousake recited his eulogy, commemorating the fallen, Amaranth's Kido relayed the words, and those added by the Captain-Commander, to everyone within Soul Society, ensuring that even those who couldn't make it heard in some way.
As the eulogy component finished, she ended the Kido, standing patiently and watching as each body was cremated in turn, though her nose twitched slightly as the scent of burning fabric and charred flesh eventually wafted over.

【 Taiyō Kono ≎ Zero Division ≎ East City 】 ☼ Harbinger of One Thousand Suns ☼ __ __【 Φύλακες-A | Guard of the Eastern City | Ex-2nd Division Captain | Adorable 】 Kono felt the young girl's surprise as she wrapped her arm around Tomoyo's shoulders. Kono could not blame her. She used to do it often enough while she was still Captain that it had been routine to spook the poor thing. Tomoyo was the only one in the 2nd Division that got to see a laid back or somewhat playful Kono; the rest of the Corps getting her stern and harsh side. It worked out better that way. When Tomoyo responded to her question, Kono was turning on her heel, facing the Captain. Her response to the raven-haired Guard was comforting, if being as stern as she was with the Division could be called such.
"I am glad that you are keeping the qualifications high. I would hate for it to all fall. I mean that in the best of ways. There's a large responsibility that comes with the Division. You're doing well." Kono stared at Tomoyo for a while longer, crossing her arms, supporting her right on her left and placing the right hand's finger on the corner of her mouth - in thought. She could read Tomoyo like a book. The soft nod she got back to her calling Tomoyo her little sister was enough to seal what it looked like.
"Tomoyo..." Kono closed the gap between the two and placed her hands on Tomoyo's shoulders, hoping to pull her attention back to her previous captain. "I would have told you, but I couldn't. Gomen." Kono did not go into detail about what she meant. The dark-skinned woman had a gut feeling about what this uneasiness was about Tomoyo - if she could even pin it to that feeling in particular - and if she was correct, Tomoyo would understand her apology perfectly. She gave the 2nd Division Captain a warm smile - and by warm I mean warm as her body literally leaked heat like she was a space heater - before a flash of green caught her eye.
She turned to see Anya doing a rather grand display of Kidō that served to create an ornamental blade. The said blade was given to Kokoro as a token of condolence from Anya. She was just out of her own ear range to hear it fully, but she knew Anya; the cat-woman was very good about these formal things. Cracking a smirk as she turned to face the woman fully, Tomoyo just behind her now, Kono let a whisper fall from her lips. "Flashy Neko-tan~ You trying to show off or somethin'?"
Her statement was purely playful and she knew Anya was probably do something incognito to say something back. All in good fun. It would appear, however, that the entire thing was to go underway. Kokoro instructed Jousake to start the Eulogy and lighting of the torch, which was brought aflame by Kokoro herself. The Eulogy was traditional. Kono had heard many in her years. The fact that she was a ruthless leader back in the hay-day did nothing to stop her from honoring them after the mission was finished. That was, of course, if their body turned up back in the Seireitei ever again. Either way, the Shinigami were lit aflame and their ashes placed in ornamental runs.
Kono took a deep breath and her head craned to the direction of the Sōkyoku,"Ashes to the winds; the winds to the sea; the sea to the shore; and the shore to the fire... All back to the cycle. We will see you again..." It was nothing but a mumble, rolled into a mish-mash cornucopia of sounds. Kono was having a moment to contemplate how long she had been alive to see and do. It was overwhelming, but incredibly insightful as to how much she needs to stay sharp. Reassured, the girl was ready for the little brats responsible for doing these things. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ [OOC: --- ] ✾ | Location - Sōkyoku Hill__✾ | Company - All the peoples__✾ | Word Count: 645__✾ | Music Choice: Home - Tablo__✾ | Post - [11]__✾ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

xxxSuke and Ai watched as The Head Captain said her few words and Jousake set the coffins alight. He noticed a second later that the division of squad 5 sent it across Soul Society. Good. Maybe his parents would hear. He watched as the coffins turned to ashes with the corpses and they were put in urns. Ai bowed her head in respect as Suke closed his eyes and bowed his head as well, a small moment passing between them.

Yulan watched as Captain Amaranth performed the Bakudo #77 spell to broadcast the ceremony and eulogy throughout the entirety of Seireitei and the Soul Society. Kido was always something that fascinated her, and though she did practice the Shinigami Art it wasn't something that Yulan would typically rely on.
Once Captain Jousake was prompted by Captain Commander Kokoro, Yulan turned her attention back to the coffins, looking on with a solemn gleam in her eyes as the flames of the torch licked the side of each coffin before creeping onto the surfaces. In no time, the fires were raging in a dazzling display of light, forcing Yulan to turn away ever so slightly to shield her eyes until barriers were erected. She knew that as a Shinigami, death was something to be expected. It was part of the job description. But when the reality of it finally hit, it was hard for Yulan to fully accept that the Captains had fallen in battle. She didn't know how to feel about that - there was a mixture of sadness for the fallen comrades, and anger at her own inability to change the situation, but there was a dash of fear that Yulan couldn't ignore no matter how hard she tried. The realization that even Captains - the top of the food chain - could fall to the hands of these assailants forced Yulan to really question her own abilities. Was she strong enough to face these opponents? She has yet to fully adjust to her position as a Captain, what hope does she have against the enemies of the Gotei 13?
As the flames died out and the ashes were collected, Yulan shifted her weight from one foot to another, keeping silent with her head bowed in respect as she waited for further directions.

Sasuke Hiroshi
"Ready, Aim"
As Jousake moved forward to the coffins and began the cremation after the Head Captain's words, Sasuke could only reflect on the situation. He knew the 6th Captain had gone missing, but this? This was not what he expected. He also briefly met some of the fallen. It wasn't close relations by any means, but they were his brothers and sisters. He looked at the woman his brother had talked to and noticed she was missing an arm. He remembered her as a member of Squad one and she had an arm then, ha she fought with a rouge and lost it? She didn't look weak to him, but his research showed they were powerful, even the low ranking ones. How she had only managed losing an arm was impressive. Sasuke had to get stronger, he had the potential, but the time of peace had made him lazy. He made a vow right there, when the second war begins, he would kill a Rouge or die fighting for his commands. Sasuke held up three fingers towards the grave and spoke in a normal tone. "Your sacrifice wasn't in vain my family."
Sasuke then moved slowly to Anya the royal guard. He bowed in respect to her and spoke in a hushed tone. "Mistress, is it possible to speak to you before you return to....ummm where you go back to?"

▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ ...An the Tale Goes...
Watching Jousake light the coffins, Kokoro closes her eyes and bows her head whispering a soft prayer in their honor. Rest easy dear comrades. I shall not let you die in vain. What Hatake failed to do 300 years ago, I will do. These Rogues will perish. she thinks, clutching her blade's sheath. The warm sensation of the flames licks at her cheek making small goosebumps rise from the porcelain flesh. She opens her eyes as the coffins become dust before them.
"Gomen." she says softly. nto her ear.
Jousake moves to gather the ashes into the ceremonial urns. He presents them to the Commander. She takes each individually, sitting them on the small table next to them. Kokoro opens each urn's top, collecting small portions into her palm. She turns out to face the men and women. She holds her hands out, eyes closed, and concentrates her reiryoku flow to her palms. The ash particles begin to float, encircled with soft flickering flames. The result of this little trick is a fire sprout in the shape of a small bird. The small flame "flys" from her hands and off the edge of the massive hill vanishing into the wind. Kokoro closes her hands, pressing them to her chest; more precisely her heart. She watches as the flame dies away softly with a soft flicker. "An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind." she says to the large group. "Let this service serve as a token of what we, as Reapers, stand for. We are only ensured death in this life, dear friends. A vendetta, a jealously, a lust for power will make anyone blind to that fact. These Rogues serve to eliminate what we stand for, what Kenshi Hatake created. A vision of justice, responsibility, loyalty, and most importantly, love. We cannot, ladies and gentleman, let them dim our lights. We are Shinigami and we will overcome this threat. We must pull together as a singular unit and be strong. We are the Gotei Thirteen." Kokoro says with a deep sense of heartfelt dedication. She makes sure to look every being present in the eye making them feel her words, making them feel what she is feeling.
She feels courage.
Kokoro turns now, closing and grabbing Ishtar's urn. She looks to Yulan Bing, "Captain Bing, it is a pleasure to have you and your Co-Captain in our services. Ishtar would've been so proud of the both of you. I presented you with his ashes, please take them to your Barracks and keep them present as a reminder of what Squad Six is. Justice. You are a pillar of justice, and we thank you." she says, giving Mai the urn to give to Yulan. Mai walks up to the Captain, urn extended. "Tomorrow, all Shinigami are to report to the Royal Council Hall for direct orders on what is to come in the coming days. We will retrieve our comrades, we will protect our home, and we will be victorious or die trying." she says more forcefully. "Now return to your homes and prepare for tomorrow's events." she concludes bowing softly to them all before slowly walking down the platform steps. Various Squad One men, whom had come with Kokoro, move swiftly past her to collect the urns of their Squadron members to take back to their grounds. Kokoro approaches Kinji, Katashi, Anya, and Kono. " Please accompany me back to my office. I have important matters to discuss with you all." she says softly looking at each of them.

Baki Hanma Baki stood up at the edge of the cliff and looked out over the Seireitei. Listening to the Commanders words now gave him more resolve to end this war one day. I have to achieve Bankai! I will do whatever it takes! I will show them that their death was not in vain! With that in mind he headed back to the 9th Division, jumping over the cliff and vanishing in the moonlight.

Katashi Kazama, Division Eight Captain Location: Sōkyoku Hill Company: Gotei Thirteen + Zero Division The captain gave a shrug as Jousake mentioned it probably being for the best he had left his bottle at home. "That was exactly why I left it at home my friend. Still, there is always later." Being at a funeral just served to remind the captain as to how many of his friends and loved ones had been lost. Too many was the answer. Drinking would have helped a lot, but for now, he would take it all in sober. There would be time for that later.
Hearing a familiar voice call him captain, the man turned to Yoshiko, his newly instated Lieutenant. Of course he knew who she was. He knew all the members of his division. Not to mention he had chosen the girl for the position. "No more than the others in all honesty. He wasn't exactly a very... Well, nevermind, it's not important." He was going to say friendly, but there was no need to speak ill of the dead at their funeral. "And yes I am well aware Yoshi. It's good to have you amongst the ranks. We can talk later. For now, however, things are about to begin."
Watching Anya showcase her skills, it was something that always left an impression. Katashi was not unskilled in the ways of kido, but compared to a master like Anya, well, he still had a lot to learn. A sigh was given as Jousake began the ceremony, a hard emotionless gaze given from the Eighth Captain as he looked at the other coffins. All holding more fallen shinigami from the battle. Too many coffins. Then he looked down, remembering each of his fallen friends, he began naming each of the fallen in his head along with their corresponding rank. A silent way of honoring them by letting himself at the very least, know that he remembered them. As he finished with the last shinigami name, he recited one last name in his head devoid of a rank, that being for his fallen wife. Morbidly, he briefly wondered how long it would be until they were having a service for him.
The ceremony was something he had seen more than once, and therefore he watched it go by as if he weren't present. Eyes taking in all the sights, but face registering none of them. Once it came to a close and Kokoro presented the ashes to the Sixth Division Co-Captain, Katashi turned to Yoshiko. Preparing to say something, he caught the sound of the commander talking to him and a handful of others. "Okay, Koko." With that, it seemed he would be heading back with the Commander. "We can talk later Yoshi." After speaking, he moved over to Kokoro and waited for her to leave. Prepared to follow along behind her.

It wasn't like she was of use to any division. In reality she didn't know if she even had a division anymore. Placing her glasses on a bit more firmly she turned away from the group as she had no further use. She was thinking about requesting to return to the rukongai and protect the souls that are there. She didn't have a zanpakuto but even with one arm her Hakuda was phenomenal and her kido was above average as well. She'd be able to defend them for the rest of her days making her useful to someone. ⇨After handing off the ornate sword to her old colleague, Anya hung back, Kono's whispers reaching her sensitive ears. Anya responded, but in her own head. It wasn't like Kono had super hearing like herself. "Don't be absurd, Chibi." Of course she wasn't showing off, she would never. Er, not at a funeral at any rate. This kind of stuff she took seriously.
Stepping in line, Anya gazed upon the following procession with a solemn expression, finding it impossible to resist her mind rewinding in time. As her former colleagues Jousake and Kokoro went about the procession, Anya's mind returned to simpler times, when she was but a mere cat. A week after the fire, after hers and Amaya's family had perished, she'd stood in the rain, shivering, at Amaya's feet as a funeral of sorts was held for all those who had died in their little village. Amaya had been nearly impossible to console that evening.
Anya continued her trip down memory lane until the crackling sound of flames lapping coffins reached her ears. She glanced up, gazing into the surging fire and paying her last respects. There was nothing for her to do, no Kidō to toss out, nothing to clean. Just to be silent until it was all over. She wondered, fleetingly, if there would ever be a way for the Soul Society to track down reincarnated beings and watch over them as they grew up in the human world. Someday, somewhere.
And then, it was over. Following Kokoro's lovely speech, she was approached by male who physically looked to be about her age, but was most likely quite a bit younger. He bowed politely, prompting her to raise her brow in wonder. Evidently he had business with her, and asked her as such. After watching him for a second, her expression softened. No smiles on such an occasion, but she at least didn't look nigh unapproachable. "Sure, what is it that you need-nya?" She could make time for budding Shinigami, right? There was certainly no harm.
No harm, no, but it seemed like her time in the Seireitei was going to be monopolized. Kokoro spoke to her and other briefly, requesting their presence in her office. Not a meet up, she was expected to follow. Of course, the red-headed lad would hear every word. After nodding to Kokoro, Anya glanced back at Sasuke. "Er, take a rain check?" She offered. "Doubt I'll be leaving soon-nya."

Kinji would simply remain in place as he didn't seem to have a tribute to say or give. It was as if he was simply trying to make this event and situation void. He had already lived long enough to see when he was a Lt. and when he was just a young captain many of his close friends die. Not just the former captain, but his former captain, the previous Lt. of his own division and many more. It was something that he didn't want to remember.
As he looked over and listened to everyone speak and more it appeared that he began to feel as if he was out of place. Not showing any form of emotion, not giving some type of tribute, not even moving from this standing place. However he would jot back to reality when he heard Kokoro's vocie request him and he would right away look towards her direction. "Yes, Ko...I mean Captain Commander...", he said as he still seemed to be rather lost in his thoughts. He than heard his Lt. and nodded in acceptance to his statement. "Remember to check the inventory...", he said to his Vice-captain as he watched him walk away.
Kinji would than move to follow Kokoro back to her office.

Sasuke Hiroshi
"Ready, Aim"
As Sasuke listened to Miss. Kokoro's words they felt like a knife, but inspiring as well. He greatly admired her leadership, but even despite how confident and great of a leader she was, he could still see she was hurting by the lost. As she spoke her eyes turned on him and he looked down as a feeling of guilt came upon him. While so many died and so much was destroyed, he was in the human world having a vacation instead of helping. He knew not to blame himself, there was no way he could know. He looked back up and met her gaze again, but with eyes that said he would not let this tragity happen again.
As the funeral ended, Anya addressed him and he listened. He wanted to ask to learn under her to become stronger since she was the creater of the Kido System. He loved his Captain and there was much he could learn from her, but much more he could learn from the Royal Guard. He had to be stronger and there probably wasn;t much time before the Rouges would return. "Yes ma am, by the way, I am Sasuke Hiroshi, Lieutenant of the Kido Corps. If you are free after the meeting I will be in the Squad 5 Dojo. Until we meet again." Sasuke left the Funeral and headed to his quarters to change and grab his board.
