Brandy thought about her answer for a minute. "Well... I guess you can say im undecided. I was never actually taught potions. My old school had some books on potions in the library and would sit and read them all day, but to be honest that was the first time I've actually tried to make something." she shrugged her shoulders and bottled some potion to keep. If it worked, might as well save some for later.

 Meg Potions Class Meg noticed Alister looking at his own potion. "you probably did yours correctly, I never do. It either blows up in my face or does the weird super potion thing." Meg smiled, " In case you haven't already heard my names Megan Elliott, Meg for short, I'm an exchange student from America!" Her smile got wider and she was positively overjoyed, maybe she had finally found someone to be her friend.

Alister smiled kindly, bottling some of his own potion. "Nice to meet you Meg. My name is Alister... I'm originally from London, but I've been going to school at Drumstrang... So that makes the both of us newbies here..." His smile turned to a grin, and he glanced down at his potion, tempted to taste it... But he decided to let it cool instead.

Meg: Meg Potions Class Alister seemed like a nice guy, and he was an exchange student too. Meg's eyes got wide and sparkly as she took interest in the new topic. "Oh, your from London! Whats it like there? is it pretty? is it as gray as everyone says it is? Where in the city did you live? how long were you there? have been to America? its a pretty neat place! Is there any good shopping in London? The shopping in Fresno sucks, but I only live an hour from LA so that makes up for it! Do you have Starbucks in London? Maybe an In-n-out burger? Bet the food is fantastic either way! Whats Drumstrang like? The name in itself sounds kinda funny, but so is Hogwarts! My old school was called Oija. No idea what it means. I used to live in alabama though and I visit my mamaw in Texas every summer. Did you always live in London? Wait did I already ask that? Am I talking to fast? I do that when I get nervous. " Meg paused and looked expectantly at the boy. She meant well but Meg had quite the motor mouth and loved to ask questions. Hopefully she won't screw up a potential friendship.

Alister chuckled softly, having just barely caught most of what she asked. "No... It's alright, I understand." He said with a smile. "Personally, I think London is very pretty... Even with the rain. I lived in one of the suburban districts until I was eleven and went to Drumstrang. I haven't been to America. As for shopping in London... They have fairly decent shopping. Not a lot of starbucks, but we do have little coffee shops. Other food places I wouldn't know... My mom and i usually ate at home.." He took a moment to gather his thoughts, having spoken calmly the entire time. "Drumstrang is an all guy school in a different country. It was fun, to say the least..." He smiled. "Anything else..?"

Meg Potions Class Meg was ever enthusiastic about everything and anything, especially something new. She liked Alister he was a nice guy, she had never had very many guy friends before. "Just one more question!" She looked at him with the highest expectation her eyes basically having an Anime sparkle to them that many people find unnerving. "Do you like classical music, musical theater, or vocal ensembles?" This she was completely serious, if not looking serious, about. She was still looking for a kindred spirit to share her music. She would still want to be friends with Alister either way, she just had to know, or she might lose that pretty blonde head of hers.

Tomas expressed his surprise. "You've never accually made a brew before?!" He glanced down at her potion quickly, "In that case, I really feel you have a knack for this. Potions are no easy task to just pick up and go. Many times a recipe and knowledge isn't enough to compensate for unpracticed hands. You'd make a fantastic potioneer if you focus on the practice. I am truly impressed." He smiled while looking at her bubbling cauldron. "I bet you'd be able to tackle the living death draft that the fifth and sixth years are learning of."

Alister blinked. "I like classical music... I can play the piano actually... My favorite composer is Chopin, closely followed by Beethoven..." He said with a bit of a grin. "Do you play an instrument..." Alister asked her, looking towards her curiously, having been at an all boys school, Alister hadn't had many feminine friends, and now he found himself with two.

Brandy smiled shyly. "Well Im glad I've impressed someone. I think I wanna view all my options before I try to pursue anything." He may have taken interest but if others knew how good she was she'd have far too much attention drawn to her. That, she wasnt ok with. "What's a living death draft?" she questioned.

"Living death is a very powerful sleeping potion. The effects are so potent that the drinker has the appearance of being dead. The effects can be reversed with a wiggenweld potion." Tomas nodded and flipped his book to the proper page and pointed at at the recipie. "Here it is. The potion is very advanced and most students don't even get close to a successful draft while still in school."

Meg Potions Class Meg basically squealed with joy as she gave the tall boy an unexpected hug. She stepped back and answered, rather enthusiastically, "I love Chopin and Beethoven, but I also love, Gershwin, Handel, Haydn, Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Purcell, and Copland. I also play the cello, viola, oboe, bassoon, french horn, guitar, piano, harp, umm...oh, and I love to sing!" In actuality Meg wasn't particularly good at any of those instruments, but she had memorized at least one piece by each composer. The only thing she gifted in at all happened to be singing, not that anyone had the heart to tell her other wise. She smiled at the tall boy and asked politley, "whats your favorite piece by Chopin? Mines Etude Op 10 No.4!"

Alister blinked in surprise at the sudden hug, and smiled a little. "I love all of his pieces, but my favorite would probably be... Etude as well. It was the first piece I had heard on the piano, and the first one I had learned to play.

 With the assignment for the day finished, for most of the students it appeared, Tomas placed an elbow on the table and rested his chin in the palm of his hand. With his left hand he whipped out his quill and began to doodle again. He'd decided that a small battle scene might hold his interest an pass the time. After sketching a spine covered dragon and a simplistic knight character, Tomas pulled out his wand. After scanning the room to ensure Snape wouldn't notice his use of magic in the class, he made the nessacary wrist movement before tapping the page. The characters sprung to life, as the dragon began to hover above the knight. In return the knight hoisted his shield. Tomas' boredom and lack of concentration caused his charm to be much less than he'd originally hoped. Sheild still high, the knight attempted to block the incoming ink fire the dragon spewed. The result was the knight being wrapped in flame and turned to ash in a Tex Avery style burn gag. He sighed as he tapped the page again returning it to it's original drawn state. ((Anyone up for time-skipping the thread to another class, or maybe a quiditch game. Im itching to fly, and Niyne told me in a PM that he'd do the time skip herself about a week ago. I think its safe to say we can move on without him at this point.))

Brandy looked over the page commiting the page number to memory. She gave Tomas a nod that said she wasnt really interested and moved on to her own devices. She had no doubt she could conquer the potion but she wasnt about to let him or nayone else know how smart she really was. That would draw attention to her and that would not be good. The less attention put on her the better. "I think I'll wait for that year to come." she finally said, "No need to rush anything, for all we know i was just lucky this time."

Hours had passed and the exchange students went about their scheduled day. After the lunch hour, all the students were instructed to the quiditch pitch for this week's scheduled game. As the student's filed in to their house's seating area, all noticed the decorative banners advertising who'd be playing. Today's game was a match against Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.
Tomas waited patiently in the locker room after suiting up in his game robes and protective pads. Being a Ravenclaw whiz kid, didn't stop him from enjoying the physical challenge and aerial freedom of quidith. From the day he learned to fly a broom he had a beaters bat glued to his hands when on a broom, so when he tried out for the pitch, he quickly gained one of the two beater position's on Ravenclaw's team. Now, in their first game of the season, he had a chance to prove they'd made the best choice.
((I've made the match Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw so that the most people have a chance to RP as a quiditch player. The majority of thread members are in either of those houses so this way only a few people don't get to play. [sorry slytherin and hufflepuff, your houses have only 1/2 people. You can do the next matchup]))
