Terrion drew in another shuddering breath. "Zoe, if he could break my barrier that had taken me fourty years to perfect, then he can break through almost anything. I just don't understand how he could remain dormant for so long... Only to destroy our lives once again." She nearly had her barrier rebuilt, enough to keep the millions of voices from breaking through. Cayleigh spoke quietly.
"Isn't he just a voice now?" Terrion cringed. She ran her fingers through Cayleigh's soft, black hair.
"It's not as simple as that, hun. Aun was the most powerful Nightshade alive. But he was a parasite, feeding off other Nightshades' powers. He was a torturer... A murderer..." Her voice faded as she reflected on the last few hours. She blinked, feeling suddenly tired. She hadn't fought at all for years. It was probably time to start brushing up on her once pristine skill.

((It was very annoying! I hope I don't do that again!)) Eve nodded. "He was at that. How could he possibly be back?" She shook her head as if that would make the thought go away. Cecilio was looking at Zoe with an envious look. "What's up with you?"Cecilio looked away. "I'm just trying to make sense of it all."Suddenly there was a loud noise behind them, or a least Eve thought she heard something. A blistering pain throbbed in her head. "No!" She screamed. A moment later everything around her went red. "I have come back stronger and you will not escape me this time. Your fate shall be worse then Egil's!"There was another acute pain to her head and the voice laughed. Eve screamed something at the voice, but nothing came out of her mouth. "Oh, how sad! You can't even speak!"Eve tried to insult the voice but couldn't. More pain and she felt like she was going to faint. "Oh, no. You can't faint. This is all in your mind."~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Cecilio watched Eve with concern. Her eyes had rolled back and her mouth hung open. Cecilio held her tight. "What's going on?"Eve twitched a little and a small trickle of blood rolled down her forehead. Cecilio looked for the wound frantically, but couldn't find one. "Eve! Eve!" He shook her slightly. Eve twitched harder and more blood trickled down her face. "What can I do? What is going on?"Suddenly Eve clutched her stomach and screamed. Cecilio looked, but couldn't see anything there either. A heavier flow of blood trickled down her face.

Dante didn't understand what was going on...Everyone was tense, nearly on the point of freaking out. His sister was gone. Some wierdos were trying to get a hold of them for their powers. It was just too much for him to handle. "Alex.... Everyone flinched and Rogue looked up quickly as she heard Chio call Eve's name in a panicked way. "Eve!" She grabbed her friend's arm. "Eve, snap out of it! He's gone! This can't be real...This isn't happening..." She murmured, and focused on her own telepathic powers, diving into the darkness of her friend's mind. Nova paled at the mention of his deceased, or at least thought to be deceased, father and buried his face into his hands. 'Egil...Help me out....Please....' He thought desperately and squeezed his eyes shut. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Alex frowned and the chains around her ankles clinked softly. She had no idea where she was. She just knew that she was underground. There were no windows, only artificial lights. She scowled, tugging at the chains fiercely. It made her become unable to use her powers, and there was only one jar of water in the room. She didn't dare use it in case she became thirsty. That Messoris guy only came in once and the girl, Lune, didn't even think about coming in at all. Archangelo, however, passed by a couple of times before returning to his 'Throne Room'. What a joke.

"Eve? Eve!" Ben said, shaking her shoulders. Zoe turned, and wiped tears from her face. "Eve?!" She whispered, running over. She shook Eve even harder then Ben, screaming for her to wake up. Ben and Owen pulled her arms back, and looked at Cayleigh and Dante. "Emotional brake down. She'll be fine soon, but she'll be angry." Ben warned. Owen nodded, and patted Zoe's shoulder. She buried her face in her hands. "I swear...if I ever get close enough, Ill make him pay worse then before for what he's done." She said, and Ben hugged her, swaying slightly.. "Shh... Its alright." He whispered. Owen took a small step back, then went back over to the others. He sat, and clenched his jaw. "What are we going to do?" He asked. "I'm part of this too now, whether I, or anyone else, likes it or not." He said, looking them all over.

Terrion struggled to her feet. "Aun's going to find us a lot more mature and stronger..." She snarled. "I'm also not letting my girl be kidnapped by freaks." She snorted. "Puppets. Blah. I can take 'em. If this wound won't trouble me..." Elia rushed to support her, but she waved him off. "Alexa is in worse danger right now. We need to find her. If anyone objects, I'm leaving you behind."
Oh no, she's in one of those moods again... Elia said to the others. Woe to anyone who gets in her way when she's angry. She hates it when she goes down in battle. Elia grinned.
I heard that, numb-brain. Terrion's reply came snappily.
And I wouldn't want you any other way.
Good, 'cause I'm not changing for anyone.

Eve coughed and blood came out of her mouth. She coughed again, but this time she was awake. She whipped her mouth and looked around. People looked worried. "What?" She asked when she felt like they were staring at her.
Cecilio frowned. "We were worried."
Eve looked at the back of her hand and saw that it was red. "He said it was all in my mind..." she trailed off slightly.
"Well it wasn't."
She touched her forehead and shook her head. "I wasn't expecting this."
"Why did that happen? What did he want?" Cecilio said in one breath.
"I'm not sure, but I think he was trying to give us a preview of what he will do to Alexa if we don't hurry up and save her."
Cecilio nodded. It was at this point that Eve realized that he was still holding her. "Why are you holding me?! Let me go!" She screamed at him.
Cecilio laughed. "What else could I do?"
Eve got up in a huff, took two steps and had to stop because she felt lightheaded and began to sway. Cecilio jumped up to steady her and she glared at him. He avoided her gaze and wrapped his arm around her waist and put hers around his shoulder.
Eve sighed and pretended like she really didn't need help standing and said: "We must go now!"
"Where?"
Eve closed her eyes, which was painful. "I can still see the route they were taking. I don't see any traps yet, but I don't think they were expecting us to follow them so soon."
"Which way did they go?"
"East."
"Shouldn't you rest first?"
"No, there isn't enough time."
Cecilio hesitated but helped her walk forward. "You know, you're really stubborn." He whispered to her.
Eve gave him a bitter smile. "Yes, I know." She whispered back. She hesitated for a minute and then said, "Thank you for helping me walk." She said it so fast and so low that it was almost impossible to understand.
Cecilio looked dumbstruck but smiled at her.
((I'm kinda stupid and sleepy right now, so this is the best I can do at the moment))

((Haha, nice. I want a turtle, but my parents wont let me have one.... TT^TT) Owen clenched his jaw, and stood. He looked back at Zoe, who had stopped crying. She pulled away gently from Ben, and walked to sit near everyone else. "I swear by everything, if he gets close enough that I can hit him, Ill rip to more shreds then last time..." She growled, changing her fingers to claws, and ripped then through the soft earth. Ben sat next to her, and she growled at him. "Ben, I'm restraining with all my power from lashing out and destroying anything in my path." She growled, and Ben held his hands up in defense, stood, and backed away. Owen sat next to her, and grabbed her forearm. "Zoe, its alright. Save the anger for later, right now we have to focus on saving Alexa from them." He said gently. Zoe looked up at him, her eyes sad, but dangerous. Owen stared back, and Zoe sighed, lowering her eyes. "Alright." She whispered, and stood. "Owen, in my room, there's a wooden staff, with a large green orb in the top, bring it to me." She said, and he dashed into their house without a word. "Ben, gather supplies and anything we could use for healing, were going to need it." She said, and he saluted mockingly, and dashed down the road to the square to retrieve the supplies. She turned to the others, and nodded grimly once. "This fight isn't over; its time to make one final stand." She said, and darted for her own house, a few tears falling down her cheeks. ~~~~~~~~~~
Luna walked into the cell Alexa sat in, and grinned triumphantly. "Aren't you a cute one? I knew you would be easy to catch, but no one believed me because of your parents and their little friends, but I showed them didn't I?" She gloated, her sightless gaze on Alexa.

((I'm sorry. We have four dogs. Way too many. I love them all though.))
After about an hour of walking, Eve had to sit down and take a break. "This will be a long journey if I keep having to do this..." she muttered.
"We'll get there soon enough."
"I hope so." She closed her eyes and her head throbbed. She cringed a little. "They're headed north now."
Cecilio put a hand to the ground and produced a block of ice and held it to Eve's forehead.
"Thanks, Chio."
"De nada."
"I had a couple of useful things at home, but I forgot all about them." She sighed. "Food mainly."
"I'm not going back to get it."
"I wasn't asking you to."
Eve looked up at the sky. Why was it that Aun always seemed to show up in winter? A snow flake landed on her nose and she looked at it with crossed eyes. Cecilio laughed. She glared at him and then closed her eyes to rest. Her head was hurting and she didn't want anyone to see how bad it was. What was that little trick Aun pulled? Why am I still so weak? Eve thought.
She heard a noise in the distance. "Chio! An ogre is coming!" She could hear trees being crushed in the distance and knew it would arrive soon. Cecilio tried to help her up. "No, I can fight like this. We can't out run it anyway. Chio, let me see your stiletto."
Cecilio nodded and handed it to her.
"Have you ever put any of your powers into it?"
"No, never."
"Then you can practice with it on the ogre."
Cecilio grabbed the stiletto and focused hard on it. The blade became ice cold. He moved his hand over it and he made the ice around it turn into a long, sharp blade. He snickered at the blade slightly. "I can't wait to try this out!"
"You won't have to wait long."
A moment later they heard a large screech and the ogre broke through the trees.

Alexa glared at Lune, even though she knew that the blind girl wouldn't see it. "Sod off." She snapped and huffed, crossing her legs in a sitting position and shuffling as far away as she could from the girl. Her chains clinked again and she frowned at them. What were these things and why could they prevent her from using her powers? She tugged at them, ignoring Lune, and dropped them wearily. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dante was running after Eve and Chio. His parents would just refuse for him to come, and he felt a nagging in his mind. His connection to Alexa was stronger than most of them thought it was and he felt her growing weaker. He was panicking. Even though they weren't always agreeing all the time, she was still his sister. He stumbled as he felt the ground shake but kept his pace. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Messoris yawned and kicked up his legs as he waited near the entrance to Archangelo's room. Apparently, his master was calling back some old ally that the Nightshades had killed. What was the point? Archangelo was the strongest there was, he was their god. Why would he need the help of some defeated weakling?

Terrion kept a brisk pace, her mouth set in a determined frown, sparks of anger dancing in her sky blue eyes. She managed to keep up with the rest, her determination canceling out any fear, and she felt that anger of a parent after their child has been wronged. She felt it for Cayleigh, Dante, and Alexa. She wasn't about to let her only daughter become a tool for whatever came at the group of Nightshades.
Elia kept a hopping pace behind his wife and daughter. He stopped every once in a while to examine the ground, searching for tracks, but very suddenly, the ground shook. He heard Eve's shout and braced himself for the ugliest of creatures. Not to mention the smelliest. The ogre.

Owen, Ben and Zoe followed them all. Zoe was gripping her staff hard, along with her sword. Ben was to her right, how own swords in hand. Owen on her other side, jaw set. "This ought to be fun." Zoe said and the ogre burst through the trees, roaring at them. He was large, and full of muscle. Owen smriked, and nodded to Zoe, who nodded to Ben. Zoe raised her staff, pointing the orb at the ogre. Owen did the same with his hands, palsm facing out. Ben twirled his swords in his hands, ready. "Go!" Zoe screamed, and a prickly vine short from the ground. She guided it skillfully to the ogre, rapping it arounds its legs. It roared angirly, and swung its club. "Terr, look out!" Zoe shouted, tackling her friend before they were hit. Owen made a strong wind, and picked up Zoe's sword, and one of Ben's. He thrust out his hands more, and the swords flew into the ogre's stomach. It howled in pain, and Zoe spun her staf in her palm, making a flurry off vines rap themselves around the ogre.

Luna laughed at the girl, and sat next to her. "The chains are anti-Nightshade. The wearer cannot use magic while bound by them." She said, and pulled out a small doll puppet. "A gift, from my Master." She said, holding it out to the girl. "It wont hurt you, I promise. Im not as cold as he, but Im not good." She said, stood and walked out of the room, bolting the door shut. She walked down the hall, and crossed her arms at Messoris. "I gave it to her, pleased with yourself? Your going to get her killed, and we will have no bait! My doll will drain her of her powers, and kill her at once." She said, and leaned against the wall across from him. She looked at the door, and sighed. "Still talking to the mutt eh?" She muttered.
((I have 4 dogs too, and a cat. ^-^ I love them all! I still want a turtle... I'd name him Paco, cuz it sounds like taco, and I like tacos...))

Terrion recovered from Zoe's sudden tackle, leaped to her feet, and drew her swords within a heartbeat. The ogre roared in pain as she propelled herself upwards, stepping on thin air and lashing out, poised like a cat. She pounced again, slashing the beast's right forearm. She was rewarded with a rumbling screech and a swipe of the club that looked more like a young tree than a stick. She timed her leap perfectly and landed on the ogre's club, digging one of her swords in to steady herself as it whistled through the air. This angered the ogre, causing it to swing its club once more, trying to shake Terr off. She yanked out her sword and used the ogre's momentum against it. As she whirled by, the razor sharp tip of the sword pierced the beast's tough skin on its collarbone. She did a flip in midair and landed nearly neatly on a nearby tree limb, sheathing her swords and gripping the branch with an iron grip, but still slipping. Her mouth was set with a fierce frown, concentrating on using her powers to aide her battleing skills and bringing back the masterful skill that had slipped from her grip. A voice broke that concentration and she almost got squished by the angered ogre's hand that was almost as big as she was tall.
"Brilliant, dear daughter. Brilliant! Oh I do so ever enjoy your style." Terrion's mouth twisted in a disgusted grimace. Shut up! She screamed at Aun's teasing voice. The ogre swiped at her again, snapping the branch she clung to. She drew her swords and dug them into the tree's trunk. Elia's gonna kill me if the ogre doesn't. Lucky for her Elia was too focused on tangling the brute's feet with thorny vines to notice her mistake of harming the tree. She slid to the ground after tugging the blades free.

Owen watched Terr in awe, but shook his head. He lept forward, pushing the air under his feet to keep him up. He grabbed the club. He twisted it form the ogre's hand, the swung it at its head. Zoe stood, and Ben appeared at her side. "He's really good at this..." Ben muttered. Zoe watched in amazment, but blinked, and grabbed her sword form the ground. "He's not good enough alone." She said, and lunged. She tore her sword through its left shoulder, and then kicked back off of its stomach. Ben caught her under her arms, and threw her back. Zoe roared, sailing through the air. She stabbed her sword into his stomach, then jumped back, grinning. She pointed her staff at the whole in its stomach, and screamed words from an anceint language. Large roots wrapped around the ogre's feet, the bark and wood twirled up its body, forming a trunk. Owen jumped away, and Zoe caught him, then set him down, making sure not to brake her hold. A clap rang through Zoe's head, and she dropped her sword and staff, crumpling to the ground. Amazing! You've inproved on your skills grandchild! I cannot wait until I control over you, and that beautiful power! Ben bent down next to her, ignoring the ogre and eveyrhitng else. "Zoe? Zoe, get up!" He said, shaking her. Owen bent down too, and looked Zoe over worriedly. "Its him again, that man." Owen whispered.

Terrion pushed off the tree trunk and landed gracefully, sheathing her swords on the way down. She darted behind another oak and she dodged a flying limb. It crashed two feet behind her. She had no time to react, the ogre squinted its bloodshot eyes at her and recognized the thing that had wounded it. It reached down and snatched her up, baring its yellowed fangs at her. Terrion gagged.
"You might want a breathmint, stinky breath." She had managed to draw one of her swords as she had been lifted off the ground. She lashed out at the ogre's huge hand. A little help here, guys. This brute wants to eat me... And I don't think it's very pleasent in there! The ogre screeched in pain as a thorny vine dug into its waist. The sound deafened Terrion and she went limp, dazed. Her sword clattered to the ground. The ogre tightened its grip on its snack defensivly as the bark crawled up its legs. Terrion shook her head, clearing the fuzziness that had invaded. Not helpful. She glanced downward and wished she hadn't. The ogre was a big one, even for its race. About thrice as tall as she was and ten times as round as she was. She cried out in pain as she felt the air being squeezed out of her lungs. She coughed, gasping for air. HELP!

Zoe groaned, and jumped to her feat warily as Terr screamed in her head. She raised her arms, holding her staff above her head. She screamed, and the tree around him began to grow faster, until it engulfed the ogre. Ben rushed over to Terr, who the ogre had dropped. He caught her just before she hit the ground, and moved far from the swinging ogre, who was screeching in pain, reaching for Zoe. Zoe closed her eyes, screaming louder. "Zoe no!" OWen screamed as the ogre tighened his huge hand around her. "Give her back!" OWen shouted at t, and ripped his sword through its wrist,and all the way through. Zoe's eyes snapped open, and she screamed as she fell to the ground in the limp hand. She slipped out of the limp grip, and fell ot the ground. "Zoe!" Owen screamed, diving to catch her. He caught her just in time, and she fell unconsicous, her whole body paling. "Zoe? Zoe!" Owen shook her, and she moaned. "Too..much...help..Terrr..." She moaned, and fell limp in Owens arms. [i]Get up Zoe, your stronger then that! I love watching you fight with your friends, its fun to watch you make mistakes! Its amazing to watch the boy care so much for you, when you dont feel the same. Get up and fight, I want to see you fall again! Aun cackled in her head, and she clenched her fists, snarling.
