Emily stopped, then turned abruptly. "Yes, perhaps you could help me. I seem to at an impass". Her eyes pierced into Jeff's eyes, searching for a hint of a lie in them. It was a technique her dad had taught her, but it came unbidden. She hated her training. She tried to smile a bit, even though most of her thoughts were wieghing her down. "I'm searching for my family here. You see, they don't know I'm here. Heck they never have even met me. The dead girl in there, Amy, she's part of my family and I really need to find them". Emily felt a little lightheaded, her vision swimming a little, but she kept a straight face and didn't wobble. She didn't show weakness at all in fact.

Amy didn't ask anymore questions and did what she thought was the right way to do this. She could feel the wavering energy floating from his body and she grabed for it. Abosorbing it. She found this easyer than she thought and the more energy she absorbed, the easier she became more attatched to him, untill at one point she simply melded into his being. She was him. She felt odd but...hole now.
Sam looked up at the girl with narrow eyes. "I'm Amys father" he said roughly. "Why do you need to see her?" he questioned before jeff could. "Why havn't I heard of you?" he asked.

Emily smiled. Amy's father was it. He didn't exactly have a good reputation around town."This could get interesting", she thought. "Well we're appearantly very distant realitives. In fact, I'm not sure how we're related. Anyway, my name is Emily". Emily stuck out her hand to Sam, grimacing mentally at the thought of grasping the mans hand.

Sam kept still not taking hher hand. She didn't answer his question. "Hello Emily" he said groughly turning his gaze. He seemed rather upset about something. Maybe Amys loss was finally getting to him.

((Yeeps, sorry for being late. Here you guys go.))
Jeff frowned severely. "Amy deserves more respect than you're giving her, Miss. Emily." He seemed to straighten, to fall into a cop stance without thinking about it. For some reason, he could tell that she didn't trust him, and it confused him more or less. To his knowledge, he'd never met this girl, maybe she just didn't trust the police. "She is more than a dead girl, she had family who cared deeply for her," some of her family at least. He shook his head, waiting for their short introduction, then frowned. "I'm sorry. We are not going to be able to show you any of the evidence in this upcoming investigation. Only the next of kin will be allowed in." He wasn't sure, but a part of him wondered if Emily actually was family. Maybe she was just one of those crazy students trying to learn more in the 'real world.' He shook his head, "And tell us, since I'm sure Sam here is wondering too, how did you know about Amy's death? If you've never met her family?"
Eric swayed a little, shaking his head. "Woah.." he breathed out, trying to stay steady. He had a weird fullness to him, something that would feel personal, and was especially weird because it was with a girl, and his sister. /You okay?/ he thought to himself, and hopefully to Amy, unsure if it would really work.

Emily felt her dizyness increase and she wobbled a bit, unsure what was happening. "I did what anyone would do, ask questions. I got to your guy's house", she said, inclining at Sam. "It was surrounded by police and a small crowd of people. I went around the nieghborhood and did some questioning. I was able to get the locations on all the children of the family. I also found out that Eric, the eldest, had moved out. I assumed it was Amy who had died. Of course I didn't know until I arrived here". Emily looked down, feeling sad. She suddenly lost balance, falling onto her right arm on the floor. She got up as soon as she fell over, going over a mental checklist to make sure she was alright.

Sam made no move to help the girl as she fell over. What was that about? He didn't think he could trust this girl. He had never even heard of her and she looked very unstable. Besides most people wern't aloud to see the body until the viewing. He remained ilent watching her silently. Not caring.
Amy looked kind of surprised that she could hear him. She didn't know who was in controle, her or him..or maybe both of them. She answerd him with a thought ya im fine you? she tried to move s if rasing her hand to touch something.

Emily could sense something, something odd. She'd never had it happen and she tried to shake it off, blaming it on lack of sleep. She excused herself, apologizing again for bumping into Jeff. She sat in the lobby, the dizzy feeling still lingering. "That was odd", she thought. She shook her head slightly, but a twinge of pain flared up at the base of her neck. She reached into her bag. She felt all her little gadgets and gizmos her father insisted that she bring with her. She pulled out the thermal glasses. A friend of her father had invented them and they were supposed to pick up thermal readings and different energy signals, but she only used them because they looked like nice shades. Maybe they would help with her developing headache.

"Woah, please tell me you're doing that," Eric cried, seriously freaked when his arm started raising on its own. It felt as if strings were attached to his bones, and he was merely a puppet. Thankfully, he didn't remember the songs of Pinocchio past the "Wish Upon A Star" one so now stupid Disney tune filled his head while his sister possessed him. Trying telepathy, if it actually could be considered that again, he told her, /I've been in here a while, pretty soon that cute cop's gonna come in here to look for me./ Though the thought was preposterous, he added, /Can I keep control of my body while you're in here?/
Her story sounded iffy to the part of him that was pure cop. It made him want to hit something, geez couldn't those uniforms out there learn to keep their mouth shut for a few hours at least. But no, on his few years on the force, he'd learned where there was blood or death there would be onlookers--the curious and rude. It never occurs to them that if it happened to them, they'd want to hide, to keep the prying eyes from their love's broken frame. He had to push away Lora's face the second time this case. Damn, it was going to be a long one.
Jeff's eyes widened, and shock kept him from actually catching the girl. The manners his mama taught him did insure he help her up though. "Miss?" He led the girl to a chair ((If you don't mind Vetrona, if you do, he can just follow her)), then sat beside her to see if she was alright. He kept Sam within eyesight, just in case it was a serious ploy for the drug dealer--he meant grieving father--to run. He watched her pull out some freaky looking sunglasses from her bag, and a frown crossed his face. He spoke in a whisper, as much of one as could be heard in the semi crowded police lobby, "Are you having a migraine miss? Can I lead you to a quiet room?" It was the only thing that came to mind to him.

"Oh ya i'm sorry eric, I was just testing something. Yes we can go but be careful" she teased. you have a boyfriend remember she said turning sober., She didn't have someone else outside of family to love like he did. She sighed trying not to let her depressing mood rub off on him. "Lets go" SHE SAID AGAIN.

/So he's not as cute as-/ Eric cut himself off, sighing. He could feel every emotion going through Amy, and could guess what she was thinking of. There just wasn't anything he knew to say to comfort her. Hesitantly at first, he stepped forward, but then he realized how familiar it felt and continued the rest of the way out of the smelly men's room. It was a good thing Amy was dead and couldn't smell the stench that hung from every cubicle. His eyes flicked towards his father sitting on the bench, and then a girl sitting beside Jeff. /Do you know the girl, Amy?/ She looked like a freak with those cliche sunglasses, but wasn't Jeff assigned to them, so wouldn't he only be talking to people about Amy? Or maybe the cute guy was also a nice guy and he just helped the girl out somehow. Eric paused, imagining how he could help her out with a quick fashion do-over. She'd look awesome with a nice rich red lipstick.

Eric watched his own finger raise up, and tap the center of his forehead. "Hey!" he whispered aloud, unused to this new form of telepathy. He covered his face with his hands, hiding a smile that formed. 'I'm glad you're not gone.' the thought came unbidden and he thought nothing of it, assuming she only heard his sent thoughts. He figured he'd go over to the bench near Jeff, as it was much more preferable than near his father. Out of respect, he sat on the other end, not wanting to interrupt the girl with him. Now that he was closer, the cop definitely looked a little worried. Maybe she was sick and that's why she was so pale?

((Having him escort her to the seat is just fine cool ))
Emily thought over his suggestion. It might help her think, but at this time, I just might be best to meet the rest of the family. "No, I think I'll be alright. Just got a bit dizzy. Thank you though", she said locking eyes with him again, checking his sincerity. She pushed the button on the side of the shades letting the alien-like images flood her vision. It usually calmed her to see the strange lights, it seemed to have a good effect on her eyes. She felt another bout of dizzyness coming on right when she saw this man sit down near her. She almost did a double take as she saw a strange light coming from him. She was about to comment when she lost balance and fell head-first to the floor, her glasses clattering to the floor. She immediately placed a hand over the glasses to protect them. She tried to get up but found her arms to weak to get the job done. "Perhaps I'm not feeling as well as I originally thought", she said weakly, her face to the floor.

((Thanks. I just wanted to make sure. Those glasses are nifty.))
Jeff's young face was creased with worry, as he watched the young lady sway. His eyes followed her gaze to Eric, pleased that he was finally out of the bathroom. One less thing to worry about until Alfred came down with the paper work. He saw the girl move out of the corner of his eye, but by the time he'd swiveled around she'd already hit the floor. "Ma'am?!" in panicked times, Jeff's self defense was to become more polite, so all misses were raised to madams. He fell to his knees, ignoring the sharp pain that came with the impact against the tile floor (because of course it was tile--better to clean up blood.) He actually pulled the young lady into his lap, rolling her over to her back. He called to the idiots at the front desk, "Call an ambulance you as-----s!" as they were not the people he was protecting his manners shifted in the opposite direction. God dammit, next time, he was getting the paper work. Let Alfred make them cry, at least he didn't have to deal with this.
Eric was halfway through an innocent smile when the poor girl fell over, and his face contorted into confusion. 'What the hell?!' He expected her to go into convulsions, and instantly got up to go help, even if he had no idea how and would probably get in the way anyway.
