Reimu was a bit overwhelmed by her guest's exuberance. "Consider it your welcome to Gensokyo," she said, almost smiling. "I spend a good deal of time out here . . . when I'm not attending to my duties, of course," she hastened to add. "I do alot of work here, y'know. I pretty much keep this place from falling apart." She was on her fourth drink at this point, and was beginning to become just a little tipsy.
Reimu continued gazing into the flowers for a while more, enjoying the quiet and the company of her cheerful guest. It was really impossible to be morose around this girl. She had almost completely forgotten about the day's earlier unpleasantness.
Suddenly, her thoughts turned back to the present. "Oh, right! I said I'd teach you about Spell Cards, didn't I?" Reimu was feeling unexpectedly gregarious with her guest. Perhaps that was this wolf's hidden power?
Besides, a duel is the perfect way to punctuate a flower viewing.

"Ah," Remilia gratefully accepted the proffered tea, "thank you, Sakuya." Remilia put down the book she was reading, and took a single elegent sip. "I was just looking for you, incidentally. Do you know where we could find a breathing apparatus? Like, one of those things they use to compress air when they go underwater in the outside world."
All around her were signs of her latest obsession: not only books, but charts and plans sketched in Remilia's hand concerning submersables. The only theoretical obstical she had yet to overcome (aside from gathering materials) was Gensokyo's tragic lack of ocean. Something had to be done about this.
Remilia regarded Sakuya, her face dead serious, as she waited for a reply.

Chiyo smiled in return as Reimu began to describe the life in Gensokyo. It seemed a relatively nice place to live, she even recalled Reimu saying something about Chiyo coming to like it... but Chiyo couldn't leave behind her pack. Not when the snow was receding and she was purposely sent on a mission to restore it.
"Oh yeah! Spellcards!"

"Breathing apparatus?" Sakuya repeated, to make sure she had it right. Why in the world would Remilia-Sama want to go underwater? Moreover, need to breathe underwater? Her brows furrowed a little as she eyed the tower of books surrounding her mistress.
Sakuya bowed her head a little, the maid was going to try in the best of her abilities to satisfy Remilia-Sama's curiosity. "I will begin to look for one immediately Remilia-Sama. Surely we can find one in one of the villages.

Reimu took out a cards to show Chiyo. "Right. The Spell Card system. It's a big part of life in Gensokyo. Basically it lets us fight without worrying about killing each-other. Fighting pretty much becomes a demonstration . . . or a game. A Spell Card is supposed to be one of your strongest attacks. Your opponent 'demonstrates' how they'd counter that attack. If they win, you lose the card. If they don't, they lose a card. The first person to lose all their Spell Cards loses."
"Lots of people duel for fun, but we also use Spell Cards alot for serious conflict. It's kinda a code of honor - if you lose a Spell Card duel, you're supposed to act like you lost a real fight. Oh! And it's magical, so you don't have to worry about injuring your opponent."
Reimu seemed genuinely excited about this. It was the first time Chiyo had ever seen her be really exuberant. Obviously, Reimu enjoyed dueling quite a bit. "Want to give it a try? I'll help you come up with some Spell Cards if you want."

Remilia took another sip of tea, then put the cup aside. Slowly curling her fingers together, she smiled almost menacingly at Sakuya (though Sakuya would know better by now than to think of that smile as truly menacing. It was just Remilia acting like Remilia).
"Also, Sakuya, did something untoward happen on you errands? You have that distracted seeming manner you take on when there's something you haven't told me." Remilia could read pretty much all of the residents of the mansion pretty much perfectly.

[Chen : Forest of Magic by Alice's House]
Chen was having a good time just playing around in the Forest of Magic. It was somewhat unusual, but not uncommon for her to wander away from Mayohiga and her home to have some fun in the forest. She loved Spring, the warm felt very nice much nicer then the cold winter that had passed. She was busy leaping from tree to tree in the forest with great speed. The bells attached to her shoes jingling lightly with each jump. She stopped atop a tree branch and looked down. She was right outside of Alice's house. Her ears twitched as she picked up on the the conversation between Kyouko and Sukina standing outside of Alice's house and without even thinking she leaped out of the tree heading right at them.
"NEKOMATAAA~ POUNCE~!!!!"
She yelled as she came down upon them trying to land on Kyouko's back and by association Sukina's as well to take them down just like a death from above.

Kyouko waited for a second before yelling out once more "AAAAAAALLLLLLLIIIIIIIIICE!!! ANSWER US IF YOU'RE HEEEEEEEEEEEERE!!" ...Unfortunately, this directly coincided with the shout from Chen, so it went unnoticed. For Chen though, the impact would feel like hitting a brick wall with a thin pillow at the impact site. For Sukina, it would feel like being slammed into a brick wall by the Nekomata pouncing on her. However, for Kyouko...it felt like someone poked her in the back. She turned around. "Huh, what was that?" Though a normal person would blame Sukina, as it was a light poke from behind, where Sukina was, or at this point probably had been sitting. However, Kyouko had kind of forgotten.

Stars...yes, there were stars around her, now. She could see them. Of course, that could just have been the fact that she was pounced on by a nekomata while on Kyouko's back. Which, of course, was the same feeling of being slammed into a brick wall.
"...Ow."
Oh, what had she gotten herself dragged into? Literally, on that point...

Chen could not have anticipated this outcome. She had been sure that she would have ended up on top of Kyouko with her on the ground... Instead though she felt as though she had pounced right into a brick wall a small pillow(Sukina) being the only thing to protect her at the impact. She had essentially bounced off of her intended target and landed face first on the ground. Her twin cat tails twitched slightly as she came to after the stunning impact. Tears welling up in the corners of her eyes from the pain.
"Owww~! That hurt!!! Did i miss and hit a tree or something?"
She asked as she slowly got up off of the ground and dusted her dress off before looking at Kyouko and Sukina the latter of which seemed to be in pain. Seeing both of them now her playful mood gone she became a bit shy and felt like backing away slowly.
"Um... sorry. Who are you two?"

Alice was in a huff, not finding any sort of clue to Marisa's wherabouts. Then, a loud yell calling for her. Who would call on her? Wait, she recognized that shrill screaming. "...Kyouko!!!" Alice said angrily, grabbing one of her dolls and walking to her window and opening it with a flip of a switch.
"Kyouko...You're too loud!" Alice muttered darkly, throwing one of her dolls at the oni's face. Maybe, just maybe, it's stick to the girl's face and make her stop talking for a moment so she could actually get some answers.

Kyouko had turned around, and looked down to see her new traveling companion and a Nekomata on the ground in pain. "I'm-" She was about to introduce herself, when Alice yelled from behind. She turned around...only to get a doll clinging to her face. "MMMMMFFFFFF!!!!! MM MM MF MFF MMMF MF!!!" Kyouko said, attempting to speak through the doll. "... MMMMMFFFFF!!!" she reached up to her face, grabbed the doll, and pulled it off. "Oooooh, hey, this one is really good." She said, commenting on the handiwork.
Then she remembered. "OH RIGHT, Alice, will you help us find where Marisa and Reimu and the other humans than me went?! We need more people to help us with this incident! So far I only have this one!" She said, pointing to Sukina.

Chen's reached up with her hand to wipe the tears from her eyes and just as Kyouko was just about to introduce herself a doll landed over her making her voice muffled so that the Nekomata couldn't understand what she was saying. Connecting the dots she came to the conclusion that the girl who threw the doll was Alice and the one who got hit by it who seemed to be as dense as a rock... literally and figuratively was Kyouko. She looked at the strange girl as she started talking about an incident and all of the human's missing and immediately became very worried.
"What all of the humans are missing!? That is terrible, where will we get our food from?"

"Really?" Chiyo was ecstatic. The whole spellcard system seemed like it was really fun. And no one got hurt? She could remember far too vividly to tending to the wounds of other wolves. It was a gruesome thing, territory squabbles but they mainly held their own.
"Well, I can do magic. Like make ice. Will that help?"

Sakuya sighed a little, refilled Remilia-Sama's teacup before gathering her voice. "Well, I bumped into Kyouko on the way back from my errands. She was saying something about the humans disappearing and Marisa being gone. And then something about coming here to ask you," Sakuya began explaining, the pot of tea still cradled in her hands.
"I didn't want her to come pester you so I hurried back, but that oni is nowhere to be seen now."
