YES. It wouldn't hurt to have customized Fly/Surf sprites, though I can see why they'd use a general one; How ridiculous would it be ti see yourself Surfing on a Maril or Flying on a Natu?My furret would drown xp

And usually in all my firered/leafgreen playthroughs I use Snorlax for Surf xD
I would also like more customization, I have a feeling I said this already.
But it would just be so cool to buy clothes and get haircuts and be in relationships with people.
Oh, and I want your houses to be a mixture of platinum and emerald.
I want it to look all snazzy like that again, but I want to be ale to battle people and do other stuff.

I at least wan't to make my character bad a** like the rival in g/s/c. (I always wished I could play as that charecter. (steal on of the three pokemon in the beginning. only train badass pokemon. and completly ignore all of the "friends with your pokemon" crap. or a kanto game where you start off the same but once you get up to the nugget bridge and you get to choice to join team rocket, you can ACTUALY join team rocket. and make your way up through the ranks. robing places like ss. anne and the safari zone.

I for one like to randomly go and play as the female protagonist when I get bored and restart (I did most of my ruby files as a female character. It's fun! And I couldn't stand the look of May's sprite as your rival when you battle her. That was the only option to have her out of my sight), though I don't really mind the young girl thing, I'm not one of those who oogles the magic miniskirts or the shorts too short. Customisation FTW! Make Pokemon more like Gaia plz!

@Trainer customization: THIS SO MUCH TIMES A BAJILLION.
GameFreak is really big on customization and individualism (at least for the Pokémon), so I'm really surprised they haven't introduced some form of this yet. I'm hoping it's just a case of they were waiting for a compatible platform and any gen now we'll it. I don't mind the girls' booty shorts and mini skirts, and unless they included a bust/hip size option, it'd probably be really hard to tell the sprite's age, but I'd still really love to choose my outfit/hairstyle and color/eye style and color/face style/so forth. I really loved PBR's Trainer customization, as limited as it was, so I hope GF takes notes. Genius Sonority can do it, and their game sucked a** otherwise!
I mean, minus some negative connotations Kotone/Lyra has for me, I still would never play as her because I absolutely hate the way she looks. And I've played as a girl since Crystal! If I could just customize her looks and make her less retarded-looking, I'd be happy as a Clamperl. ; __;

Fiery Tiamat Well, if they're including appearance quirks in the 5th Gen, (which hopefully they are) they should allow you to change your trainer's appearance. It's something that they should look into. Trainer customisation was the best part of Battle Revolution. On a related note, I hope the next Shadow Pokemon game gives you the option to play as a FEMALE character. Gamefreak and Genius Sonority could learn from each other.
