((They looked orange on my computer. Either it's the resolution or I'm ******** colorblind.))

Oh, she was willing to help him! That was good news. This would help him in several ways. One, he would have a third party's opinion. That meant they were neutral (more or less) and less likely to be biased about a decision. Two, she was female, which meant he could get a girl's point of view on his situation. Sure, his Uncle gave him a hand in finding an answer, but he was a first party opinion and a shotabard. And three, Elly was pretty honest with him, even if she was shy (but that only added to her adorableness cuteness charm sweatdrop )

He smiled gently, then looked around.

"Let's take a walk. It'll make it easier for me to explain. And far less likely that we'll be overheard." he said softly, starting to get up to his feet, reaching around to reattach the Steel Sword sheath to his belt.

User Image Walk sounded about nice. Beats sitting around and having her legs numb up then when she actually needed to get up, fall on her face. That wouldn't be fun, that would hurt. Elly stood up, dusting off gravel that stuck to her coat and followed Roy to the door. Her steel bow remained in her hand while Emilia's grace was still over her shoulder. Quiver sat at her side, knocking against her leg as she quickly trailed behind the red-headed teen.

The two walked a good block away from where the others were, making note of their steppings so she knew how to get back. "Lets try not to wander too far" wouldn't 'want to get lost in some city now would they. Plus, it was cold and stupid sniper didn't bring her cloak cause she thought she wouldn't need it..ha ha..~ Looks liek that proved you wrong miss shy sniper. Hey..least she had her hat.

Once outside, Roy noted where the building was. He nodded to Elly at her words. It wasn't like they were going to go far. They were just going to walk around the block, maybe stop and get a hot cup of hot cocoa.

About a block down, Roy noticed that Elly wasn't wearing a coat. Either she left it back at the barracks, or she forgot one entirely. He reached up to the top button on his coat and undid the buttons. He then shed the red coat and held it out to Elly.

"It's a bit chilly out, so wear this until we go back inside." the young lord replied.

The redhead didn't have to worry too much about the cold. The sheathed Flame Sword was pretty warm, and having a bit of ice dragon in his blood apparently made him tolerate the cold more.

"From the beginning, huh? ...Should I just start where the problem started, or do I have to go ALL the way to the beginning?"

♦ ◄ALIHI► ♦

Alihi remained quiet, her eyes focused on Cyric as he spoke. His information, though not a lot, was extremely helpful to her. While Vaida contributed to the conversation, Alihi studied the map. It wasn't that the tactician was ignoring the conversation; she just needed to get her mind going. The army came from the north... It couldn't be Sentria. It wouldn't be logical for them to go from the north. If anything, a force from there would head in from the south. By positioning, it would have to be Adliana, but I highly doubt that's the case. The way that Cyric described the force... it couldn't be just any ordinary army. Though I can't doubt that Adliana's a possibility, it's not a high one.

As silence fell upon the five, Alihi continued thinking. It could be Mordache, yes, but it wouldn't be that easy to get a sizable army to Estarcia. The troops would have to go through the mountains, go around them, or go by sea... It can't be ruled out yet, but... "It just doesn't seem right..." She muttered under her breath, reaching for the map. Cyric had asked for her ideas; though they were insane, the tactician did have some.

She rotated the map, having the northern direction face towards herself before beginning to speak. "Based on the information given and my own reasoning... I concluded that this is no normal army. You said that this group came from the north, Cyric?" Alihi pointed on the map to the northern region of Estarcia. "The only country with easy access to northern Estarcia is Adliana. Mordache would have to find a way around, and Sentria would have to pretty much pass through Estarcia to get there... But you also say it is not Adliana. And it isn't Learania, either. I'm sure of that." The tactician drew imaginary "x"s over Adliana and Learania.

"If that were the case, then how did the army get here? Here's where my theory comes in..." She glanced up at the group, pausing to take a breath. The more she spoke, the more the idea seemed to be logical and filled with nonsense to her. "Somehow, someway, the group used some sort of warping method to get here. In my eyes, that pretty much rules out Sentria, which would leave Mordache to be the culprit." Her fingertip glided over Sentria, crossing the country out, before resting on Mordache. "At the same time, I'm not sure if Mordache's responsible. It's not impossible, yes, but it just doesn't seem like it is them. But then who is it? What is the source of this powerful army, one so strong that you called upon us for help."

Alihi closed her eyes, clearing her throat. "... Would it be too far-fetched to put forth the idea that the attackers are not from any country on this map?"

User Image The coat handed to the poor freezing sniper was gladly taken and swung over her shoulder. Oooh the warmth, how she missed that. What on earth was she thinking..in a mini skirt no less! "T-Thank you" quivering a bit from the cold air.

When she said beginning guess she should have been specific. Elly hadn't meant for him to actually start from the VERY beginning....like where they first met, heavens no. "Um..Start where the problem began" No time for the entire back story, save that for later when they actually had more time to discuss their entire life.

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness

I want someone to notice now...
Because I want to get out of here

-Cyric-

The talk about this new found army was slowly coming together and somehow pieces were connecting bit by bit. Cyric listened to every word the Learanian tactician had to offer, nodding at parts he agreed with and found reasonable. The captain of the guard clearly had doubts it was Mordache..as devious as they were they wouldn't resort to such cheap tactics as this. Surely they would simply attack head on rather then an ambush..better yet, Mordache would target the capital right there and then.

Cyric raised a hand to his chin, pondering the thoughts for a moment until something Alihi said grabbed his attention.

"... Would it be too far-fetched to put forth the idea that the attackers are not from any country on this map?"

That hadn't occurred to the silver knight's mind until spoken..Somehow it was the only logical point to the entire situation. otherwise, where else could they have come in from? The sea was too far for any mage, sage, bishop..anybody with magical ability to teleport an army of that size to this land. "Somehow..Miss Alihi.....That seems like the only explanation for their sudden appearance anyhow.." yes..there was no other option left for them. It wasn't Mordache, it wasn't Sentria nore was it Adliana..and it sure as hell wasn't Learania. So the only other choice there was is not on the map.

He tapped his index finger at the tip of his nose, giving the situation a bit more thought into it. "How did they get here is still in question.." Cyric spoke up once more. "There is no possible way anybody with a warp staff is capable of warping such an enormous amount of army..even over seas"

Cyric leaned forward, resting both hands on the table as he continued to observe the map that was placed at the center. "Should the enemy even be warped, wouldn't the distance between this continent and the next be far off for it to work? They would land in the middle of the ocean given that the warp staff did take them somewhere. "

User ImageLance spaced off a little. He had remembered the discipline of being in an army. Ranks, orders, regulations, he had been there before. He had also been in major battles, taken part of strategy meetings, covert operations...

Lance was surprised at himself for even putting that together in his head. Was he recovering?

Either way, he never quite understood the concept of war to begin with. He understood how there could be conflicts, but not how they had to be armed. To rely on force rather than diplomacy was a sign of weakness, in his eyes. Not being able to try to understand one another would never make sense to him. Perhaps that's why the freelancing suited him better. For some reason, fighting for your own personal gain seemed more fair than a country sending their young for disputes that didn't concern them.

He finally shook himself awake again, as the girl was laughing at him for mentioning a theoretical duel between them. Was she underestimating him? Or did she just gauge him as...weak?

Lance smothered a snarl coming from him, not wanting to send out any signals of his irritation.

He wasn't quite sure what made it click for him...perhaps it was because of that nagging feeling reminding him of his past greatness...

Infamous, he made a name for himself in Elibe. He managed to amass a large bounty on himself, and whenever anyone would try to collect him, he'd be able to fend them off to the point that they got ridiculed and embarassed. Tales and rumors circulated around him, and not even an entire band of mercenaries could bring him down...that was, at least, what he thought. His memories were fuzzy, after all, so maybe he just imagined it but...his intellect, skill, power...he was sure he had it all. But once he came here, it all started going downhill. Now he'd be lucky if he beat anyone. Not that he ever fought, but still. He must've gotten rusty by now.

This girl, however, that must've been half his age, was still laughing at him, making fun of his feeble mind and body...for some reason, though, it sparked his passion to find his cure...the satisfaction of making everyone eat their words would have to be sweet indeed...once this whole ordeal was over, he'd make sure he'd figure out to get back his past greatness...if not even more.

He nodded at Blossom, finally back to his senses again, yet with a puzzled look on his face. "What kind of enemy is it, anyway? No army can function so well that they suffer almost no casualties unless they're either well-informed, or this country seriously lacks in military power. I don' even know this country, and yet we're helping ou', so there has to be some pretty importan' reason for us to give our aid, righ'? Even so..." Lance stretched himself in comfort and yawned out of boredom. "If we're not getting our orders until tomorrow, we'll need to find some way to entertain ourselves. What can you do in this country?"

Blossom shook her head. "That's the thing... we don't know who the enemy is. That's why they're asking for our help. I doubt they've gone without losing anyone, but they have no idea who's attacking, which is why they're so unnerved." Blossom removed her hat and ran her fingers through her short brown hair before donning the cap once more.

"But whomever it is, we're not letting them get away with this." Blossom looked down at her hands, staring at them for a few moments, then looked up to Lance.

"Right, we'll need to stay busy... I haven't really been to Estarcia before so I'm not sure what could be done, but I'm sure we could find something. And it'd be boring to investigate town alone, right?" Blossom smiled brightly and took Lance's hand in hers, rising to her feet. "I'm sure that we've got a little while to ourselves. Let's find something to do."

A light-bulb flickered on in Alihi's mind. Her first thought when proposing her idea was using warping magic, the method Cyric was being skeptical about. He was right; although she didn't fully understand the mechanics of it, the chances that an entire army could be warped across the ocean seemed extremely slim.

It was then that she realized that the answer could be simpler than she believed it to be. "... There is one way I can think of transporting people that does not require the use of a Warp staff." She glanced at Isadora and Vaida for the briefest of moments before focusing down on the table. If the tactician needed help explaining, she hoped that one of them would help. After all, she was recalling things from what seemed to be a long, long time ago, and she didn't know if Estarcia knew about the people coming from places such as Elibe, Magvel, and Tellius. "It's... not very voluntary, though. A person doesn't have much of a choice on if they're getting warped or not. It just happens. And, to my knowledge, it's one-way unless you have a special item. Once someone is here, there's little or no hope of them going back." She exhaled softly. "It's brought people to this continent before, people from many different regions, and I have no doubts that it can do it again. That could be what brought them here to Estarcia. This method is capable of transporting many people from one place to another."

But, then that raises another question... Alihi cleared her throat, resting her chin in the palm of her hand. Why are they attacking? Logically, they would know nothing of this place. They would have no reason to fight... In fact, they would probably want to not make enemies in a foreign land. She remained quiet for now, waiting for someone to comment or question before speaking again.

xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!"
"The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"

Vaida raised an eyebrow and glanced over at the young tactician, when she suggested that the army was from a country not on the map. She could possibly be suggesting that there was a land oversees. If it was anybody not from Learania saying what she was saying, Vaida would instantly be thinking that. But, Alihi knew something that people of other countries did not. Warping an army was a ridiculous thought. And if there was anybody left oversees, surely there would have been contact by now. No, what Alihi was getting at was something only Learania would find conceivable.

The tactician continued on and tried to explain her theory. Vaida noticed that she went around straight out saying that the people were brought from other worlds. It would be best to go along with that. Saying such things might make them look crazy. "It's what our guild is, that now rules over Learania." She looked over at the puny guard captain guy. "You see, none of us here, aside from most of my Guard soldiers, are Learanian by birth. We're all from different... places. Brought here against our will. Most end up in Learania, and they're introduced to the guild." Vaida took a moment to growl lowly. "I still want it to be Mordache, but.. Damn it, this is possible. The occurrence is not all that strange, to us. Though, never has an entire army appeared." Vaida waved her hand. "In any case, it means that we have no way of knowing anything about these guys. Instead of speculating about who it is, why don't we get a plan of how to position ourselves, in response to them? I can make sure that we are able to move out tonight!" Vaida, who was becoming increasingly agitated by the stalling, looked over at Alihi. "Well, girl?! How are we splitting, and to where are we headed?"

"Y-yeah... bows tend to be rather frightening..." Mihira nodded, fully understanding what Charice, and all flying units for that matter, meant. It was something that caused a great amount of evasive action training. Putting your trust in your mount to carry you, and having the mount trust you to steer it in the right direction were essential to have. Without both, the rider will be ineffective in combat, or at least very lacking in comparison to other soldiers.

Mihira took a bite of her now fully cooked food, as Charice continued on. The girl perked up at the mention of a shield. She remembered that Commander Vaida had gotten one of those recently, and was planning to get more made for all the other wyvern riders. She mentioned something about training to use them properly. It reminded the scout of all the work she was forced to do, which didn't help comply with Charice's attempt at reassurance. "Mm.. well, I'm really only used for all the jobs that nobody else wants to do. If there's some meaningless task, it's given to me... or at least, that's how it has been since my break from personal training under commander Vaida... I'm not sure which is more troubling."

Renault glanced at the newcomer; after a moment, his eyes shifted slightly to the side. This face was familiar; this was one of the ones who'd been involved in that little "incident". And the man wasn't entirely sure who had figured it out, and who of them had forgiven him. He still felt a bit nervous around many of the guild members; as if he were afraid they might exile him, perhaps, or something of the sort. But this man was... more like himself, really. Though he carried a staff, his eyes had the glint of a hidden hardness to them. This man had killed before.

But Renault was polite, and he bowed quietly to the other man; no reason to be rude. "That's right.... we're supposed to be here tending to wounded," he told Jin. Then he paused for a second, looking around with a frown. ".... It doesn't seem that they're all that badly wounded, though," he noted with a slight look of dismay. "No one's come to show us where the infirmary is, so clearly it isn't all that urgent for us to get to it, I suppose." But the frown remained; if there were injured people, speedy treatment would be best for them, no matter how minor their injuries were. Healing staves could not cure infection; neither could they cure flesh that had already died.

((I may be on a long hiatus here but got a break during school..... so it’s not going to have a format and editing may be poor but bear with me here))

Derrin turned the pages of his book no longer attempt to pretend to read it, as he listened in on the conversation that was exchanged between Blossom and Lance.

"Holes in the mind? Lost memories... Perhaps this is onset by the same thing that is killing me? ..... I need to know." He thought as he quietly shut the medical book he had been reading, The Anatomy of the Human Body and Other Bipedal Creature; Third edition, Organs and Brain

But Derrin (Having had not only a bad experience when he had tried to approach Melethia that ended with him to coughing up blood in a castle tower, and having met this Lance before) was unable to simply approach them. He knew he had a temper and attempted to keep it under control, but it was usually ineffective…. who knows what could happen...... he didn't exactly have a stellar track record in social gatherings now did he?

So rather he stood up a few seconds after Blossom dragged Lance to his feet, Derrin would follow the two out in an attempt to learn more....

Unfortunately for the mage he stood up at exactly the same time as Blossom and Lance, "You fool! Now you've done it! They'll notice you right away." Trying to cover this rookie mistake in the art of creeping people, Derrin suddenly bent over and began fussing (Loudly) with a pile of medical books.

"...... Here I am planning to stalk yet another person! But I can't help it.... I have to know if this is connected to me"

"You should always go out of your way to help people Derrin!

Wonderful.... and now in his absence the Mrymidon had taken the place of his conscience....... either that or Derrin was starting to go crazy.....

Roy smiled at the Sniper's thankfulness when she donned the coat. Chivalry was not dead yet! And besides, was he the kind of guy to let a girl freeze to death in a mini skirt? He say nay.

Once Elly was beginning to warm up, she told him to start from where the problem began. He nodded, took a deep breath, then began to speak.

"So everyone already knows I'm friends with the Dragon girl, Melethia, right? Well, back at the New Year's Host Club party, she kissed me and confessed her feelings for me. She's waiting for my answer. But I don't know how to answer her, because... well, a childhood friend of mine named Lilina also has some feelings for me, even if she doesn't want to admit it in public. And just the other day, another girl from my world arrived. We were pretty close during the war." he paused for a moment and sighed. "I like all three of them, but I don't know how to respond to Melethia's confession. I don't know how I feel about her."

Behold, the Pimp Lord from Elibe...having girl problems. Even the best of the best struggle with situations like this.

User Image The sniper thought long and hard about what everything Roy had just said. Confessed by Melethia, still liking a childhood friend..and then meeting another. The thought of Melethia being a dragon didn't cross her mind until 5 seconds after Roy had mentioned it..Huh...kind of like Myrrh..right? Only Myrrh was younger..Granted, Elly hadn't seen that dragon girl but she had heard stories about manaketes living in the darkling woods.

"Well first.." Elhaym spoke up, turning her head to Roy. "You say your childhood friend has feelings for you...but how do feel about her? How do you feel about all the girls you like?" It wasn't a good way to start, but the first place to start was to always sort out your differences. "When you are with Melethia, how do you feel? Is it any different then Lilina?" She paused for a moment, stopping in her tracks for a bit to adjust her hat. "Put aside 'how to' confess to Melethia first..what you need to do right now..is sort out differences. Did you feel anything when she kissed you? Or when she confessed? Were you nervous or shocked?"

She took in a deep breath, letting it out with a puff of cloud and continued "Do you enjoy her company as much or more then Lilina?" perhaps she was asking a lot of questions. But it wasn't like Elhaym hadn't been in this situation before....ok she hasn't but her brother often came to her for some 'girl' advice despite him being a pretty boy and able to get a girl (or boy) on his own without even trying or lifting a finger. Elly didn't want to confuse Roy anymore then he possibly was at the very moment. "Roy" The sniper called, stopping once more in her tracks. "Tell me exactly..how do you feel about Melethia"

(( My eyes are terrible. x_x;; If I misinterpreted a name of a city, please let me know so I can edit it? ))
Alihi nodded slowly to Vaida's comments. "I'm getting there. I just wanted to get some things cleared up while I had the opportunity to. Now," She turned her attention back to the map on the table. "This army is said to have appeared from the north. However, the chances of them staying in that region are very low. They are most likely heading south towards the capital, our current location. But no matter what they do, they have to get around this row of mountains in some way." The tactician tapped the part of the map that she was speaking of. It was practically in the middle of Estarcia, something that probably could not be ignored. "Now, there are three choices when it comes down to getting around this natural obstacle. One can go around east and cross the river, go around west, or, in the case of the fliers, just go over it." With each method, she traced her finger in the direction she stated. Her finger then pressed against the location of the capital. "If this is truly their main goal, then that is the path they must take."

She turned her attention back to the mountains, tapping the range with her fingertip. "The group passing over the mountains is likely to be small, consisting only of the army's fliers. Generally, the terrain is rough, and any foot soldiers would get exhausted quickly. Horses might not do so well here, either, depending on the horse itself. Logically, weakened soldiers are something that a leader would try to avoid." She then dragged her finger to the western side. "To the west would most likely be the majority of the forces, since it is easier to pass through. The land looks relatively smooth, at least judging from the map. If they have any cavalry, this would be the path that they'd take. And finally, we have the east, which would be a group that is somewhere in between in terms of size." She pointed to the river on the eastern side of the mountains. "The group here would be mainly foot soldiers, since it is easiest for them to cross the river here. All three parts of the army would go their separate ways, then probably meet up before they reached the capital."

The tactician rested her chin in the palm of her hand. "Therefore, the best time to stop them is before they can meet up again. Although I am not certain about the army's exact movements, I can guess that Altiplos and Restia are going to be targeted. They are, after all, places large enough to be on the map. We can only send groups out in a general direction and hope for the best..." She exhaled softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Finally, she was directly responding Vaida's question. "We split our forces into three, maybe four groups. One shall head in the direction of Restia, one towards Altiplos, one just in the general northern direction... and then one to remain in the capital, in case the other three groups are unable to stop them. We can cut out the northern group if it seems like it'd strain our numbers too much."

Her eyes flickered up to the four people before her. "Ideally, a balance between the groups would be for the best. We really don't know what to expect, so bringing a large amount of the same kind of soldier would not be great... But this brings up another question. Who is going to go where?" She paused for a moment to collect her thoughts. The question she asked was a difficult one, one that Alihi herself could not answer.

She knew, however, what she wanted to do. "... Though I am not too much of a fighter myself, I would prefer to not stay here in Archesis. It'd almost be better for me to be out there, so I can actually see the enemy forces with my own eyes... I will most likely go towards Altiplos. The rest of you... I trust you to make the decision on your own, based on what you mind tells you to do and what I have said." A small, faint smile appeared on her face. "... I believe we can do this. I really, really do."
