"Well you could help me out with Arashi. It's system's were almost torn to shreads by a swarm of hacking nanites. Nasty things. I was able to salvage one and what i found was that just one of them could hack into a gundam's CPU in just three minutes. An entire swarm can immobilize a gundam in seconds. Arashi had several all tangled in the wires. Took me forever to get them all out. Now if you could get up into the cockpit and use your laptop to tell me which systems aren't operational." Nick started to walk towards Arashi. "After that you could go and assist Kamon if you want but I don't know how trusting he'll be with you. Appearantly an old friend of his has betrayed him and he's being a little over cautious. Or so I think. His name is Chris Darpel and Kamon told me he always knew what was going on. Whatever that means. But let's get started shall we?"

"Nanites, huh? I think I've heard of them from the military sites. A hard bit of information to get at if you ask me." Adalwulf followed after Nick towards Arashi. His eye took on a distant look as he heard about Kamon and Chris's recent betrayal. He shook his head to clear it then, pushing his thoughts away. "Not a difficult thing, I can even help you fix it a little. I can tell you whatever you need to know about it. Unless its past my skills, which might not be likely, or the code's too encrypted."

On the twelfth day of the eighth month, in the year AC 212, I write.
Today, I pronounce a curse on those damned Backdraft dogs. On them, and their infernal Gundams. This morning I was greeted by one of them, a Gundam pilot leading a small battalion of mobile suits that I did not recognize. The officer accompanying the group emerged from his military truck, with that Gundanium-skinned devil standing by. I greeted him cordially, and invited him to take a look around. I told him I had nothing to hide; my passive colony defense systems' research and development was going well. Soon prototyping would be complete, and my contract could be fulfilled. I made sure there was no trace to be found of the "means to my end." Modus Operandi had been moved two days before the Backdraft sought to bring down their hammer on me. The investigator seemed frustrated that he did not find anything. My overly kind and calm demeanor seemed to infuriate him all the more. He spent a few moments cursing and arguing with someone on his communication device, then he was gone. When his truck was out of sight, the mobile suits began to follow. I smiled and waved as they departed. They will have to try harder than this, next time. If it were not for government beaurocracy and red tape, they might have discovered my true project. I will have to take extra care from this point onward. And I will have to keep eyes out for that Gundam pilot. Something tells me he is not one to shy away from the direct approach. When ridiculously complicated laws and regulations fail, I will have to face him.

Chris was more than a little frustrated to not find what he was looking for. Chris was not one to be tricked and the act put on by John did not fool him. He guessed they had moved the operation somewhere else so when he got a chance he had left a little surprise for him. Next time he wouldn't be able to hide behind his laws. Next time he'd be cornered. "Driver let me out i'll fly the rest the way myself."

The driver looked confused. "Fly in what?" Then the Nisus came flying beside them it's hand outstretched for Chris to hop on to.

"Well thank you for the drive." Chris opened his door and jumped on to Nisus' hand and from there got into the cockpit. He then quickly began the flight to his ship.

"Well could you tell me if the weapon systems are active?" Nick began messing around with some wireing on the back of the neck. "I don't think they are but if so then they'll need to be shut off before I begin the repairs. Don't want a beam rifle going off when i'm working on it."

"Zeta, get ready for a small eye mod. It won't hurt." Zeta X's eyes flashed in recognition. Byrd then climbed up to eye level, and asked another worker to assist. They began to replace Zeta's right eye with one with a zoom function.

" Alright, I need to get working on ENGAGE"

Meanwhile:

"Gentlemen, I realize that very little time has passed since our little visit from Nisus and the Backdraft law-dogs. Fortunately, their systems of regulation are too complicated for their own good. We will continue to evade them for the time being, it seems. But I need to know the status of the operation. It must be finished as soon as possible," John said to a team of supervisors in Modus Operandi's hangar. One supervisor spoke up.
"Sir! We have processed enough alloy to finish the armor plating. It will be combat worthy in a matter of days."
"Good, good. The software and subsystems?"
"Given the time constraints, we had to use an existing template for space combat programming. We were able to write all-new programming for ground combat, however."
"Very well. What mobile suit are the space combat protocols based upon?"
"The template is derived from the original Tallgeese, sir. It was all we could obtain with such short notice. Tallgeese is the only OZ-era suit with speed and agility comparable to the project suit."
"Surely, this machine is faster than the old Tallgeese?"
"True, indeed, sir. I'm afraid the Tallgeese's performance will act as an upper limit until we can properly calibrate the Tallgeese program to your machine's physical dimensions, or write an entirely new space combat protocol."
"Good enough. When can we begin testing?"
"The armor will be finished in approx. 46 hours, sir. We can load the Tallgeese software and have the subsystems up and running tonight."
"See that it is done." With that, John Silenus made his departure, for some time alone in his study. His story still had to be written.

Until Zero is operational... We're wide open for an attack. Kamon was inside the leg joint working on the final bits before Zero could move again, the thrusters taken care of already. Calling Nick over, Kamon was sure Zero would be done in the next day. "All I've got left is the CAS system, but that won't take long. Get some good flamethrower fuel, and some 20mm ammo for my vulcans. I'm not going to stop working til Zero is good to go." With that said, Kamon finished the leg work, and moved on to the CAS system, working on speeding up the change time. If I can get Raikou out in the field, taking on Chris should be easier... The next 14 hours seemed like a blur, the work on Arashi nearly done, and with Zero operation at last. Zeta X hadn't taken much damage, so it was the first to be completed, while O.T. hadn't taken any at all. "Nick, I'm going to go get some sleep, I..." Kamon fell over, fast asleep, smiling now that Zero was working, and knowing that with one more ally, the fight would seem less harsh on the suits.

"Sir! There's been a development!" An informant came over Nisus' radio.

"What's wrong?" Chris was half way to the ship when he got the message. "What happened?"

"We found it. The tracker you placed on John Silenus tracked him to a small hangar not to far away." The soilder sounded excited. "What shall be our next course of action?"

Chris laughed. His plan was coming together nicely. "Tell my brother to meet me there. We'll take care of this."

"Yes, Sir!" The signal disconnected.

Al got a message to meet his brother at a location. He quickly redirected his course to Chris. "What's going on now? Oh well knowing Chris it's gonna be some good fun." Unus' eyes flashed in agreement.

Nick came over and helped Kamon up. "Come on ya' big lug. Let's go get you in bed." Nick pretty much dragged him to his room on the second floor of the hangar and threw on to his bed and left to give him some rest. Nick hadn't slept either. He was to busy working on all the nanites Kamon had wanted and all the other things. He was also finding out as much as he could about Chris. His name is Chris Darpel, he was born in England and was orphaned when he was 3. He lived there until he was 12. After that his past is just cover ups and red tape. It was like he was a ghost. But now wasn't the time. "Hey Adal. You can go home now if you want. We're pretty much done here." Nick called down from the second floor. "Thanks for the help." Nick waved as he went into his own room and got into bed. He fell asleep easily that night.

((I'm glad you picked up the whole "we were almost discovered and now the bad guys suspect us" thing. I was afraid no one would play along with that. Anyways, before I write anything else, what exactly do you plan for your character to do? I want to make it good when our characters do battle.))
PostPosted: Mon Feb 15, 2010 4:35 pm

((well what I plan to do is allow you to finish it but Chris and Al are going to basically stake out your place to see if you go to the hangar. You know so they can make a case against you. I mean they can't just go in there and kill you that would make them look like the bad guys and that would deviate from Chris' plan. 3nodding ))

((gotcha. well, here goes: ))
John arrived at the hangar where Modus Operandi was under construction. His researchers had said that there was good news. The massive doorway was still closed, so John used a personnel entrance around back."Let's hear it, gentlemen."
"Sir! Based on data obtained from your time in the simulators, we have calibrated the machine's programming and tailored it to your piloting ability. But there's an issue, sir."
"An issue? Is something wrong with the mobile suit?"
"No, sir. Communication around the hangar has been...strange, as of late."
"What do you mean?" John narrowed his eyes.
"We have been picking up strange noises and radar spikes. These anomalies have yet to be identified, but the electronic signature is consistant with clandestine tracking technology."
"You believe we have been bugged?"
"Not sure, Mr. Silenus. The signature is not consistant with a bug, itself; it is similar to jamming signals used to prevent reverse-engineering of electonic trackers. But it is also similar to signals observed from private mobile suit communication, so take that with a grain of salt."
"Interesting. We may or may not have been found out. Well, in either case, the time has come to test out the abilities of my new favorite toy." With that, John Silenus boarded the mobile suit, and prepared to launch. He sent out a signal to a waiting transport to pick up his personnel, and then come after John and his anti-Gundam when its proving was done. He also armed the explosives set up under the hangar, to erase evidence of his operation. "Gonna be a bumpy ride, but we will have to escape to complete this machine in space. Now it matters little that the Backdraft is on to us. The time has come to hit them, and to hit them hard. Take heart, ladies and gentlemen. Your services are no longer required. My transport will take you to the colony my family has sponsored. You will be safe there." When his broadcast was done, John ignited two beam shotos, and tore his way out of the hangar moments before it erupted in flames. If I was indeed followed here, I hope my pursuers had sense enough to keep their distance.

((nice whispering guys! lol... i had to))

Kamon slept well that night, dreaming about past battle fought in Zero. And dreaming of future battles. Zero Fire, Zero Raikou, Taikou Arashi, and Yaiba... each on its own, a powerful suit, but when used on a single platform, the suit can take on any challenge.

Kamon woke up, still groggy, but rested nonetheless. Walking down to Zero, he climbed in, and without hesitation tested the timing of the CAS system. In only a minute, every piece of armor had been removed, and the replaced by the lighter, blue painted Zero Raikou armor. Not worrying about waking the others, Kamon took Zero out on a flight, content that every system was performing perfectly. Only need to get the weapon bits done, and added to Taikou to make Taikou Arashi, and the nanites done to add internally to defend against other nanites... Flying at close to Mach3, Zero Raikou seemed a bit faster than before. Must be the thruster upgrade... or maybe I just got used to Arashi's speed...

Chris saw as the suit bursted out of the hangar. "Al!"

"I see it." Al launnched a rocket at the suit.

Chris shot at the Anti-gundam with one of his Buster spheres.

Nick had followed Kamon easily keeping up in Dark Empros. "Going for a morning stole?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 15, 2010 5:18 pm

"How can you keep up with Raikou? Oh wait.." Kamon hadn't noticed that he had slown down considerably since he left the hangar. "Yeah, Zero has been out of action for so long, but now, it feels so good to be in my suit again. I want to show you something, so don't be surprised to see me dissapear." Kamon flipped a switch in the cockpit, removing any limiters on the thrusters. Moving at speeds too fast for the eyes, he was behind Empros before he could blink. "Fast huh? Only problem is I can only do it for a couple seconds, but during that time, I'm the fastest suit in existence. Even before I do it, I'm the fastest with this armor." Kamon put the limiter back on, not wanting to burn out the thrusters. "Just wait, Yaiba and Taikou are just as impressive."

John gunned the vernier engines and easily escaped the rocket, watching it detonate nearby. He didn't see the buster sphere, however. It fired upon him, but the shot dispersed and glanced off the Modus Operandi's armor. "Nice try, gents. This suit's armor is constructed with an anti-beam coating on the outer layer. Whatever it can't absorb, it deflects. Note the unique angles of the plating." John darted around the two enemy mobile suits, firing vulcans into the dust as he went.
