Arcane_Ninja24 something I'm wondering from more experienced smokers. how long do you, usually stay high for? i don't smoke often, but when i do, i am usually high for about two days and recently its been 3-4 days.... is this normal? I think it's because when you smoke weed, after a little while you kind of get used to being high? So when you come down, normal feels a bit weird, which gives you the 'high' effect. Or maybe the high is your mind coming off of it? I'm not sure... I do know the THC stays in your body for up to a month. <--but idk if that has anything to do with it. sweatdrop

Weed has 1-3 marijuana related deaths per year.
Alcohol + Cigarettes have millions of alcohol and tobbaco related deaths per year.

I hadn't smoked weed since before april 20th and i just got stoned out of my mind yesterday evening. my buddy peer pressured me into one hit too many and i ended up with a horrible panic attack. as much as i love weed, i don't think i'll be smoking it anymore, unless its just one, maybe 2 hits here and there (I smoked an inch and a half off a fat blunt and took 2 hits off his bong). I really can't handle such strong strains loaded with THC. I just want some plain Jane stress to let me chill, forget all this Purpleurple s**t!

TrutherMei Hey I learned something new. It seems despite popular belief that there are no physiological symptoms upon withdrawal, many people have reported such symptoms! http://addiction-dirkh.blogspot.com/2009/12/marijuana-withdrawal-survey-of-symptoms.html insomnia, vivid dreams, sweating, nausea, loss of appetite, irritability, restlessness, anxiety! eek They all make sense to me, cuz when you use marijuana you cover up most of those issues. You sleep better, cure nausea, increase appetite, calm irritability, restlessness and anxiety. Not sure about the sweating part though. thats surprising o____o i always get hungry >.>! lol

StarCraft Ghost Did you know Marijuana does NOT kill brain cells? In fact, it's a brain enhancer or stimulant. That's not what I've read. No worries either, I'm not going to bash you, weed, or anyone. I smoke daily, copious amounts on that note. I've read/heard that it does indeed kill brain cells and as we know, dead cells can't be brought back to life naturally, but they can be replaced by new ones. Any links to where I can scope this out a bit more? As it's been said before... the good outweighs the bad... kinda like an ounce outweighs an eighth.

As it's been said before... the good outweighs the bad... kinda like an ounce outweighs an eighth. http://www.drugpolicy.org/marijuana/factsmyths/#brain Myth: Marijuana Kills Brain Cells. Used over time, marijuana permanently alters brain structure and function, causing memory loss, cognitive impairment, personality deterioration, and reduced productivity. Fact: None of the medical tests currently used to detect brain damage in humans have found harm from marijuana, even from long term high-dose use. An early study reported brain damage in rhesus monkeys after six months exposure to high concentrations of marijuana smoke. In a recent, more carefully conducted study, researchers found no evidence of brain abnormality in monkeys that were forced to inhale the equivalent of four to five marijuana cigarettes every day for a year. The claim that marijuana kills brain cells is based on a speculative report dating back a quarter of a century that has never been supported by any scientific study. I smoked again a week back, knew my limit and said "I'm good" on the next round of the joint and had a perfect high and a perfect day biggrin

here are a few personal comments:
first, weed affects everyone differently.. i imagine diff strains affect people even more differently also depending on where it was grown - toxins in soil and air, 'cides and farmers chems and water runoff and everything) also affect the plant eating chems is one thing to think about, another is to light em up and smoke them...
however, everyone has their vices.
some people can handle drinking 10 coffees a day, i couldn't handle drinking even 1. that's the same as weed.. some people can smoke it and be fine, some can smoke it and be stupid-stoned for hours.... it's personal though - you do what makes you the best you can be. don't worry about everyone else~
i believe in the freedom to grow and injest whatever you want as long as you aren't hurting anyone else. food and herbs.
(the fda, monsanto, the government, etc are definitely not on my top 10 good things list~)
people should also be responsible about it, just as it's not good to only eat fruit just cuz you love the taste of fruit right. everything in moderation - and everyone has different levels of such..
and whoever compared it to opium ... it's a compleeetely different thing IMO. ><
