She sighed, melting into the kiss, as she gave him a quick and gentle hug. "I may need to call that in sooner than I'd like...." She furrowed her brow nad leaned up for one more kiss before turning to retrieve her phone as well as her bag and shoes.
"...Alex....Thank you...." She said softly, looking up at him as she slipped on her shoes with a defeated and tired look.

He came so close to saying something about picking up where they left off, but shut his mouth. She might not come back at all if that was all he was looking forward to. "No, thank you for putting up with me." He flashed her a smile, but his eyes looked a bit guilty. He hadn't felt this way a few minutes ago, so why then?

She picked up on the emotion behind his eyes. Frowning she came up to him, touched his face sweetly, and pressed her cheek against his, sighing a bit. "I'd be staying if I could....but..." She pulled back to look at him, a brave smile on her face. "Theres somehting I need to take care of I should have years ago...." She pushed his hair out of his eyes before turning again.
"I'll call you later tonight....Who knows, I might drop off dinner for you." She winked, glancing over her shoulder with one last smile, before disappearing through the door, heading home to deal with who knows what.

And that was that. She was gone before he could say anything else. Alex stood in the middle of his empty, quiet apartment and wondered at it all. He'd almost gotten lucky, had almost had her entirely figured out, but it seemed he wasn't allowed to understand her just yet. She was off to sort things out, and he was left to think about how that was going. It was annoying. Very, very annoying.

Some time passed, a few hours really, as it was just getting dark.
Jess hadn't spoken to Alex since she left, except just minutes ago, asking if he was still home, she needed someone to talk to.
She had an eventful yet horrid day after she left him to go home, and now just needed a shoulder to lean on emotionally and physically as well, for she was a mess. Her clothes were very rumpled and slightly dirty, her hair a mess, her eyes and face worn and exhausted.
She knocked on his door gently, leaning against the frame, rubbing her aching eyes vigorous;y.

Alex ran to the door. On the phone, Jess had sounded terrible. Try as he might to get some information out of her, he found he couldn't really aside from the fact that she needed to come back to him.
The door swung open, and there was Jess looking just as rumpled as ever. "Come here," he said, and he took her by the wrist to bring her into a place that was becoming her haven. Alex brought her into a hug in seconds. "Tell me what happened..."

She limply hug him back, feeling completely drained. "I confronted them..." She sighed softly, nuzzling her head into him. "Father was furious with me about classes he ahd learned I had either dropped or skipped so I could be gone somewhere or take another class in its place. He made this big deal about how he was the one paying for it so i should respect his input, and i said thats all it was, input and-" She stopped herself.
"Can we sit down?" She asked, leaning into him as she looked up into his lovely yet worried eyes.

"Yeah, sure..." And they walked over to the couch. The first thing Alex did was make sure she was alright and sat down before he wrapped a blanket around her. It was getting chilly outside those days, and he could feel that chill clinging to her when they hugged. "Alright," he said, taking his seat next to her. "Tell me what happened now. And anything you need, just say it and we'll do what we can, alright?"

She smiled and took his hand. "Thank you Alex...But I'm fine..." She assured. "Just....thoroughly exhuasted and stressed about whats next..." She leaned against the back of the couch, though was turned towards him.
"I told Them I am 22 years old, I'm in College, I'm a big girl and I can make my own decisions. He started a tirade about who pays for those classes..." She rolled her eyes.
"But I told him I did. The ones I took without his consent. He doesn't realize I've been making my own income through the market just like he has. In much smaller doses yes, but still its a rather nice chunk of change. Mostly from bonds or stocks my parents or friends of theirs have given me as gifts over the years..." She sighed, realizing how utterly ridiculous it all was.
"So---....ah long story short, He told me if I was so confident I could take care of myself, and I agreed... So I was essentially kicked out voluntarily." She gave him a wry smile, her eyes slightly puffy as if she had been crying.
"I got all my things crammed in my speeder...I'm hoping Kitty doesn't mind me crashing her place until I find my own...." She took a deep breath, running her hand through her hair, trying to act as if it were really no big deal.

"Kicked out..." he said with a sort of pride. "And I thought you didn't have it in you to go that far. But who am I kidding?" He had moved out from his mom's apartment when he thought it was time to make his own way, to really take care of himself and not put that additional stress on his mom. His reason wasn't so rebellious.
"You can crash here until you get ahold of your friend. Wouldn't want to just dump all your stuff at her place if she's not really okay with it, right?" Plus it would just give her more time to think. The constant moving from place to place wouldn't be good for her if she couldn't even have time to just think...

"Oh- I couldn't do that to you..." She said gently, looking guilty already. They had just started dating after all, and it would seem she was already moving in with him. Things were moving fat,she knew by the way they behaved that afternoon, but still...
Then again, it was only temporary... She'd be out the next morning no doubt if she got a hold of kitty. "I just dont want to impose...I mean I've already proven how utterly wacky my life is...I dont want to subject you to anymore of it than you have to..." She smiled warmly, though her eyes gentle and caring, as if her staying would be a horrible thing for him.

"Then just stay the night. I'll behave if you will. We'll watch a movie, eat some popcorn... everything will be fine." Alex kept that confident smile on his face and subtle happiness in his voice. If it would keep her in a better state of mind, he'd even dance for her, but first things first. It was obvious she wouldn't talk about her problems unless she wanted to...
He poked her cheek with his nose and gave it a kiss. "Sound good?"

She smiled, then laughed, nodding as she turned her head to meet his lips for a short kiss. "Sounds wonderful..." She giggled a bit, pressing her forehead against his.
"Thank you for doing this for me...You're mother must be very proud, raising such a gentleman..." She smirked a tiny bit, looking at him cross eyes before pecking his lips once more.

That got a genuine laugh out of him. "My mom is proud of me... for keeping my grades up and being able to take care of myself. But it's all thanks to her." She had been the one to instill those values in him, mostly by example. She was a beautiful woman who rose above everything, though never could quite make it out of a tough financial situation. But after he was successful, the first person he was going to help would be his mother. Marriage and all those troubles would come later, much later.
"Your parents love you, too... don't forget that."

"Oh I know..." her eyes fell as she sighed, letting her had slip behind his neck, stroking just under his ear with her thumb.
She smiled up at him. "You're mother must be an amazing woman to have whipped you into shape." She smirked again, changing the subject back on him as she tapped his nose with her free hand.
"So...are we actually going to watch a movie? Or just skip to making out again?" She smirked though her eyes were truly smiling, just relieved to be back in an environment where she felt relaxed, safe, and cared for.
