You can leap right into the mission. If you wanna do some roleplaying with others first that's a fine idea, but you can go straight into your first mission if you want.
If you don't really know how to go about starting the mission itself, then a good way is always to have them check the board itself. I introduce almost all my missions that way.
Edit: Naw, I just refresh the guilds page a lot >_>

If you have both your first character and your character's partner, then you can begin roleplaying wherever you like.
You can start out with a mission if you want to, or you could jump in somewhere else and see if anyone wants to interact with your new characters.
It's up to you.
NOTE:: If you don't have your character's partner yet, visit the Partner Assignment thread and follow the instructions to determine what type your partner will be. Make a profile depending on that, and then you can do as I've mentioned above.
EDIT:: Hi Cysic. xD Guess we've both been stalking this thread, no?

Alright, some members of my team wanna split off and create their own team and I know it's been done before.
Figuring out the exact mechanics though. Wondering how the Mission points would work. Do the new team carry over some Mission points from the mission/chapters they've participated in? Does the old team lose any points?
Also, having two teams, when getting missions, is the wait one week before grabbing a new mission for each team or for each person? When both teams participate in a Chapter does each team get a copy of the awards or do I have split it between them?

[/ranting] 1. The team starts out with the same amount of points that the Leader him/herself has. If you haven't kept track of which missions/chapters the Leader has been in, then take a logical, honest guess. The old teams loses no points. 2.The wait one week rule is for each person, not the teams. If both teams take part in a chapter, split the rewards.

Is it allowed to make another team compeletely unrelated to your other one? So basically, I'm asking if you can have more than one team. They would have exactly what a team starting out would, and the same starter stats and stuff, but they would be two totally different teams but started by the same user.
I probably won't be doing this soon in the future, I just want to know before I ever do.
xD I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense.

Yes, you may create a second team completely unrelated to your original. This is why I have two teams, Team Cannibal, and Team Gravity.

The Fighting Dojo 3nodding
The Move Tutor is a player-run shop (more specifically, by Cysic X and Team Southern Cross). Any characters can sign up as tutors at the Move Tutor and add their moves to the moves available.

Hmm... say I signed up as a tutor and added a few of my own moves... would I be able to teach pokemon from my team said moves? :3
I'd still pay of course ^^

Actually, I'm pretty sure Cysic was suppose to get around to asking Chaos about that. Since the tutor gets a cut of the profit, does that mean learning from a teammate mean you pay that cut to yourself so it's cheaper?
Gimme a sec.
