Fern sat up as Sammie Jumped onto the bed. She smiled as she watched her. Sammie was adorable, and so energetic. It made her wonder what her own children would be like at her age.
She looked over at Saberlin. "Okay..But if theres something I should know, dont keep me in the dark, okay?" She smiled a bit.

Sammie finally jumped high enough and touched the celeing. "Yay! i touched the celeing! Yay!" Sammie jumped off the bed and fell to the floor laughing with happiness.

"You'd better watch that you don't trip over it then. It's probably going to outgrow you before you grow into it" he warned her, though there was a teasing glint in his eye.
Saberlin carefully watched her jumping up and down on the bed, though he knew there wasn't much chance of her falling off with her level of feline agility. She reminded him of an elastic rubber band the way she pinged around everywhere.
He turned back to speak to Fern, ignoring the wobbling of the mattress from Sammie's bouncing. "Alright...I wouldn't do that to you, my dear. It's something you would probably know before I could tell you, in any case" he explained, giving her a faint smile.
Looking down at a sudden burst of excitable laughter he noticed his little cousin was now rolling around quite hysterically on the soft rug that covered their floor. Shaking his head with a small grin, he went over to kneel down by the girl and gently grabbed her feet and tail to stop her from rolling away. "Let's say we get you some dinner now, hm? It's quite late and I'm sure you'll be hungry. We have all kinds of food here so anything you want to eat, just say the word." he offered. Dinner time then bed time after that. Saberlin deliberately left off the part about bed time, unsure what her reaction would be. The last thing he needed was for her to go running off and get lost in the mansion at night. Some areas could be dangerous even in the full light of day.

"Alright, if you say so." She smiled as she watched Sammie. She wished she wasn't so tired so she could play with Sammie. But it was getting late. She laid back against the pillows.
"That sounds like a good idea. Why dont you and Saberlin go get some dinner, then tomorrow we'll have all day to do fun stuff." She smiled at Sammie.

"YAY! for dinner can we have extra cheesey pizza with extra cheese?." Sammie asked as she waited for him by the door.

"Your aunt is right; we have the entire day tomorrow to do whatever we want. I even know of a special project you may be able to help me with." Saberlin added warmly, trying not to flatten his ears at the volume of Sammie's voice.
By 'special project' of course, he meant the double crib and rocking chair that needed to be decorated properly after he had fixed them up. He was quite positive she would enjoy picking out items with Fern and maybe even enjoy helping him to re-paint them.
He hesitated for a moment at the girl's childish meal request before giving in. Pizza wasn't as healthy as he would like but if he asked the chef to add lots of healthy and tasty ingredients, it should be okay. Besides, her parents couldn't have given it to her often. "Certainly we can have that...It sound delicious." he conceded. "Let's order some for Auntie Fern too"
Saberlin followed Sammie to the door and led the way down the third floor hall to the combined dining room and kitchen, wondering what this 'extra cheesy pizza with extra cheese' would turn out like. Needless to say, the Harcourt family didn't order many take away meals or pizzas.

She followed him to the kitchen while looking around at the house. "Your house is really big"...."Almost in a scary way." Sammie added while they walked to the kitchen. The thought made her scared and she clinged to Saberlin as they walked.

Fern smiled as Saberlin and Sammie headed off to the kitchen. It would be fun having Sammie around, she was so energetic.
She sat up some, adjusting her pillow, and picked up the rainforest book she had been reading earlier. There were so many beautiful photographs in the book. It made her want to know more about the beautiful forests.

AFter Sammie and Saberlin ate they came back up the bedroom they were at before. Sammie jumped onto the bed next to Fern. "Hi again." Sammie said as she stood up on the bed starting to jump like he had before.

Saberlin didn't mind her clinging to him and slowed his pace a little so she wouldn't have to run with each of his strides.
"It is large! But I assure you, so long as you stay here, you will be protected. So long as you aren't alone, that is. It's tricky to protect someone when you don't know where they are" he chuckled. "There is nothing to be afraid of"
He followed behind Sammie at a more sedate pace on the return trip to the bedroom, marvelling at how good the strange sounding pizza had been. He had even gone so far as to instruct the chefs to prepare it as a regular meal more often.
Saberlin watched Sammie run on ahead, her black tail disappearing around the door. As he rounded the corner into the bedroom, he saw she was already pinging around once again and gave a soft sigh. How was one meant to sleep with so much energy? On a positive note, helping her to sleep would perhaps be good practise for later on. Perhaps...
On the desk Saberlin had sat near before, there was a covered silver platter and some plates and cutlery on a tray. The kitchen staff had brought some pizza into Fern whilst Saberlin and Sammie ate theirs. "Dinner was surprisingly good. How did you find it, my dear?" he queried politely before turning to the bouncing fizzing cub that was his cousin. "Sammie, don't jump on the bed any more tonight; you're all full of pizza and your Aunt might be too" he admonished, firmly but gently. "You can jump on all the beds in the house tomorrow, just not now."
((Sorry I didn't post a reply for a few days, guys. I was going to tell you I was going away with my family for Christmas but I forgot to before we left. Usually I remember in time.))

Fern smiled at Saberlin. "It was alright, although I will admit, I wasn't very hungry." She closed the book she had been reading, placing it back on the bedstand.
"You must be tired Saberlin. You were working in the lab real hard all day." She looked over at Sammie, smiling a bit. "Sammie why dont you come sit down here with me and Saberlin?"

((Yes, I had a good time at our friend's place. They live on a property - it's very beautiful. They also had a lovely swimming pool, so I got to wear my new swimsuit for the first time. And we could do whatever we wanted.))
"Quite understandable" Saberlin replied amicably, moving out of the way as two maids swept in to clear up effiiciently and take the tray away. He sat down on the edge of the bed next to her, curling his long tail to one side.
He smiled faintly when he saw that she had been reading the rainforest book again, ignoring the maids as they left. He was glad that she showed such genuine interest in something he liked so much.
Saberlin let some of his light wheaten bangs fall over his face at her mention of being tired, hiding his eyes. They were smudged with pale bruises like butterfly marks, which usually disappeared the next morning. "Oh...not really. Perhaps a smidgeon. I would say that you are possibly more in need of repose than I"
He did feel a little sleepy when he allowed himself to focus on his body's signals, but he'd worked longer hours than this before and well into the night. He was used to it.
At the mention of the lab, he glanced over to see whether Sammie had heard of it. Generally it was unspoken of around others, although Sammie's parents were well aware of its existence. Most of the younger family members were only told when they grew older, to prevent 'accidents' and 'trouble' from occurring.
He ruffled Sammie's ears affectionately when she obeyed their requests and smiled down at her. "Good girl. What say we get ready for bed now? You need to clean your fangs" There, he'd said the dreaded trigger word. Now all he could hope for was a good response.

Sammie jumped off the bed. 'You'll have to catch me first." Sammie ran out the door as fast as she could and down the stairs going to hide or find Michael.

((Sounds like fun. Too cold here for swimming))
Fern giggled a bit as Sammie hopped off the bed and ran out of the room. "Oh dear. Would you like some help getting her to bed?" she asked as she began to get up. She had had a feeling that getting Sammie ready for bed wouldn't be easy.
