"There are other things we could try.. Apple dumplings, those would be easy also." He nodded his head once, looking left and then right before eating another apple quickly.
Licking his lips to get any left over pieces on his mouth, he leaned closer to her absently. "Dolci and Yuuki have ovens? I guess that would be better then walking all the way back to my pasture to use the ones I own."

"Maybe you could teach me both recipes," she replied, though a bit quieter than normal. Perhaps that was being too presumptuous, assuming Gin would be back to teach her more than one recipe. Isabel wasn't even sure if Gin would have the time... Surely a pony with his baking talents had to be busy, well, baking?
Even so, Isabel was happy he was there now to teach her even one. So she backpedaled and spoke quickly, in a much louder voice.
"Apple pie would be wonderful, Gin." Subconsciously picking the recipe she thought would take longer to execute? Maaa~aaybe..
She watched him gobble down another apple and shifted in her position, drawing her gaze momentarily away from the bright red pony to peer at his basket of cupcakes instead.
"Yes, they have ovens," came her light response. "And I bet Yuuki and Dolci would be eager to let us use them if you offered them one of your delicious cupcakes.."

Gin eyed the cupcakes, nodding once. Using them in a trade for the ovens would be a good idea, he could always makes more for Isabel another time.
"That sounds like a good idea, those two will eat anything.. Especially Dolci." He laughed quietly, taking in a deep breath before lifting himself up onto all fours, shaking a few blades of grass off of his coat.
"Also... I'd be happy to teach you how to bake anything you want."

Well, of course Gin was free to make Isabel more cupcakes at a later date. In fact, Isabel would more than enjoy that!
But there wasn't a need to give over the entire basket to Dolci and Yuuki in exchange for using their ovens.
As Gin rose from his position on the ground, Isabel quickly followed suit. Or, as quickly as she could without mussing her mane and tail's adornments. Each movement she made, whether it was walking or running or standing up, had the faint sound of fabric-on-fabric rustling. Not loud, and not noticeable, but softly. As, Isabel imagined, a beautifully made wedding dress would sound while walking down the aisle -- layers of chiffon and lace and silk all moving against one another as the bride took her steps. Her ribbons and flowers mimicked the noise.
She let out a very faint laugh at Gin's mention of Dolci eating anything (and Isabel knew, from witnessing it herself, that it was true!) and bobbed her head in a small nod. "So surely they'll enjoy a cupcake or two."
But first!
Stepping over to the basket Gin brought, she dipped her head and nudged the top-most cupcake off of the pile. She smiled over towards the bright red pony before biting the cake in half, chewing as she spoke. "But not all of them. These were made for me, after all."

Watching her eat the cupcake, he laughed quietly before leaning forward and squinting slightly. "You have icing all over your mouth!"
Kicking his front hooves against the grass lightly, he started to trot around her absently, thinking about all of the different things he could show her how to make. "We will start out with the apple pie, easy and good. Then maybe we can try something a little harder, a cake!!"
He smiled wide, nodding happily.

A bright pink tinge deepened Isabel's otherwise pristine white cheeks and her head lowered in an attempt to hide it. Icing on her muzzle, while fitting for a pony created from the idea of a wedding cake, was a liiiittle bit embarrassing in this situation. Her tongue flicked out, removing most of the icing, before she munched the last half of the cupcake in two quick bites.
Once she was finished, and felt the warmth of her flushing subside, her head lifted to watch as Gin circled 'round and 'round. Her smile returned, though it was demure, and her head shook slightly.
"Cake?" The smallest flash of horror rippled through her head -- remembering her initial reaction to Gin's beautiful tiered cake. It had been beautiful, but it had been her baked as a cake. Very eerie and she hoped, perhaps, Gin wouldn't start out doing something that intricate. She wasn't sure she could handle recreating her own decorations on pastry!
"Small steps at first, okay?" she asked, her eyes trying to find his. And, she was excited to try pie baking anyway! "If you take the apples, I'll carry the bribe. Dolci and Yuuki's stables aren't far from here."

Nodding quickly, he took a few steps back before leaning in to take the handle of the basket of apples between his teeth carefully, lifting it up off of the grass before mumbling around it.
"Got it!" He smiled, trotting over to stand next to her. "Apple pie it is, I'll let you lead the way."
He waited patiently for her to gather up the cupcakes, it'd been a while since he'd seen Yuuki. He would probably be able to bribe him with the fruit better then the cupcakes but knowing those two, Yuuki probably didn't use the kitchen as much as Dolci.
"Better stick with the cupcakes, then.." He mumbled aloud.

As soon as Isabel had finished swallowing her last few bites of cupcake, her mouth opened again to capture the basket's handle in her mouth. She pinched it firmly, but carefully as to not damage the wicker, and Gin's nod was mirrored with one of her own.
A few steps brought her to his side, then a few more put her ahead of him. Leading the way, as she was instructed, past the short fence enclosing her home pasture. Her eyes flicked to peer at him curiously when he spoke aloud what sounded very much like half a thought verbalized, but she let it go and kept moving.
The squat little building, with it's tall chimney and large expanse of grass surrounding it wasn't but a few hundred feet from the pasture's entrance. Billowy smoke puffed from the top of the brick chimney -- reminding Isabel that, indeed, only Gin's ovens probably rivaled Dolci and Yuuki's when it came to being used. There was a faint, sweet smell wafting from the open windows of the small building. Isabel knew that offering cupcakes to these two particular ponies would go over quite well, indeed.
So she led Gin to the front door in silence, then lowered her head to set the basket down on the front stoop. One front leg raised, and bent, and Isabel tapped on the door four times quickly with her hoof. "Cooommiinnnggg~!"
A moment after the knock to her door, Dolci was there dragging it open with her teeth. She was bright and pink as ever, but held herself a little more.... maturely than she had previously. After all, she was a mother now! She had a beautiful family to love and take care of, naturally such responsibility had an effect on her.
Well, responsibility had a marginal effect. But an effect all the same!
"Hello--" she started, brightly, though she cut her greeting off short when she saw who she was speaking to. "Isabel?" Had the pretty white pony come for a visit? How unlike her... but maybe she's coming out of her shell, finally?
"And Gin!!" Dolci went on, her exuberance ever-present in her greeting of a more familiar face. "I haven't seen you in so long!" Then cocking her head, she called out into the house. "Yuuki! We have company~!" Eeeh. Dolci's always-cheerful voice made Isabel's ears flatten, slightly, against the top of her head. Sure, Isabel knew of Dolci, and her lifemate, and their family of five. But, as she'd been with Gin, Isabel's innate shyness took over. She did not know them personally very well. And it took her aback, especially when met with such a... perky pink pony.
"U-um, yes... Hello, D-dolci..." And oh no, soon Yuuki would be at the doorway as well?! Isabel was floundering for something to say, but her shy demeanor was creeping it's way back in. Her head turned and she peered briefly at the basket of cupcakes...
...then turned further and stared, helplessly, back at Gin.

Watching Isabel carefully, he greeted Dolci with a big smile, lowering his head to set the basket of apples down on the ground so he could speak clearly.
"It has been a while, hasn't it?"
He took a few steps forward to stand next to Isabel, pressing against her side gently to try and ease her nervousness the best way he could without being to obvious.
Yuuki came trotting up behind Isabel and Gin, his mane sticking up in place, grass all over his shiny black coat, he had obviously been running around with the kids and having a hard time keeping up with them from the looks of it.
Walking around the two ponies, he leaned down to nuzzle Dolci gently before turning to stand with her, a stern look on his face as he eyed the company before smiling softly.
"It's been too long Gin, I'm glad you came to visit.. and with company? It's nice to see you as well Isabel."
Gin smiled wider, nudging Isabel gently to let her know that everything would be just fine. Dolci and Yuuki were two of the nicest ponies you could ever know, even though Yuuki wanted you to think otherwise.
"I would've come sooner but the baking event had me busy for weeks! Thanks for letting me borrow your little ones as well, they were a great help.."

Isabel balked visibly when Yuuki came to greet them, peeking at him bashfully with her head tilted downward. Yuuki and his mate Dolci were, indeed, incredibly nice ponies. The few times Isabel had spoken to them (or, rather, the few times Isabel had stood there silent with Yuuki while Dolci talked her head off), she'd been given no reason to believe either one of them would be terribly mean. But even if they seemed mostly friendly, Isabel couldn't help but let her nerves get the best of her.
The warmth of Gin at her side, however, helped considerably. Just his presence there, support against her flank, eased some of her nervousness. Enough to allow her to speak more clearly.
"Hello, Yuuki," she replied to the dark pony. "We brought you some cupcak--.."
"They didn't give you much trouble, did they?" Dolci interrupted, speaking to Gin.
"I told them both to behave for you, I hope they did." She knew how boisterous her two colts could be, especially together. "No big messes, right? Jasper told me how beautiful your cakes and pies turned out, I wish we could have been there! Imani said she would have brought us back a piece of cake, but your pastries were so popular there wasn't a crumb left behind!"
With her statement cut off, Isabel leaned more fully against Gin's side, ducking her head further to rest it slightly against the side of the red pony's neck. She knew she wasn't being ignored, exactly, but.....
So she attempted again, this time speaking towards the disheveled looking Yuuki. Her voice was quiet as his mate went on and on (and on and on and on) about their ponies, but she hoped it was enough to be heard.
"The cupcakes are for y-you and Dolci," she started. "Gin and I would like to use your ovens, if we may?"

"They were just fine, very helpful.. Though I don't think they wanted to be their to much. They kept eying the door longingly." He laughed quietly, nudging Isabel gently while his tail swished back and forth lazily.
He crooked his head to peek at the cupcakes, nodding once.
"Yes, the cupcakes are a trade for the use of your ovens! I'm going to show Isabel how to make an apple pie. That's what we decided on right?" He turned his head back to look at her, smiling wide.
Yuuki stood there, look at Isabel for a moment before nodding slowly. "You don't have to bribe us to use our ovens.. All you have to do is ask."
He smiled gently, leaning over to nuzzle Dolci again absently while she rambled on about..whatever it was she was rambling on about, mumbling quietly.
"Really they are her ovens.. She uses them more then I do. I try not to go near them, I'd like to not burn down the entire pasture."
Gin shook his head quickly, laughing louder. "Not a bribe.. just a friendly gesture. It was Isabel's idea."
He nodded quickly, stepping back behind her before ducking his head down to press it against the back of her leg, nudging her forward gently.

Isabel merely nodded to Gin's question, pretending she'd been struck mute rather than stammer a quiet reply. Apple pie was what they'd agreed on, but at the moment... Isabel was inwardly scolding herself for having this idea in the first place.
Gin's own ovens, away from Yuuki and Dolci, would have been much more ideal. Quiet, with no one else around to kick her shyness into high gear, where she could actually pay attention and learn the recipe Gin was supposed to be teaching her....
As Yuuki nuzzled her, Dolci's rambling gradually slowed. Her head tipped towards him and her eyelids fluttered a bit, returning the affectionate touches as best she could.
"The ovens? I just finished using them." Blinking, Dolci leaned away from her mate slightly, peering at the two guests in front of her. Gin was going to show Isabel how to bake?
"You're welcome to use them if you like," she answered, a wide grin slowly forming across the end of her muzzle. "Yuuki and I will stay out of your way." Then she flashed a sideways glance over at her mate. "Give them some time alone, hm?"
Dolci's reply made Isabel go red. Not pink, not even a light flush, but deep. dark. RED. Her blushing spread from the end of her muzzle all the way to the tips of her ears. And if it weren't for Gin's nudge at her leg, she would have stood there, silent. Staring. And blushing herself into oblivion!
"Thankyouverymuch!" she managed to squeak out, before taking several quick steps inside the small building. It didn't take much coaxing to move far enough in to be out of Dolci and Yuuki's sight, though once she was she stopped. Wishing, in vain, that a hole would suddenly appear in the flooring to swallow her up!

Gin watched Dolci and Yuuki, smiling slightly before ducking his head down a bit to hide his blush, though with the color of his fur, it wouldn't be very noticeable.
He followed behind Isabel carefully, making sure not to run into anything or knock anything over. "Thank you both very much! I'll be sure to save you both a piece." He nodded once as he surveyed the kitchen, running over a list of ingredients in his head, checking them off one by one as he spotted them sitting along the counters.
"This all seems.. so familiar.." Yuuki cocked his head to the side as he watched the two ponies, smiling slightly when he heard Dolci speak.
"Mm..let's go then and give them some time. I'm sure we can find something else to busy ourselves with." He peered over his shoulder into the pasture where all of the children were running around crazily.
Taking a deep breath, Gin nodded once, walking over to one of the ovens to leaned down and turn the nob slightly, letting it heat up.
"Shall we get started then?!" He smiled wide at Isabel, his tail moving back and forth excitedly. "We can start by cutting the apples!"

It did indeed sound very familiar. And a little twang pulled at Dolci's heartstrings. Memories of when she and Yuuki first met flooded into her head, reminding her rather clearly of how they'd come together. Peophynnia's kitchen had been her own destination at the time, to bake for Yuuki. A picnic... by the lake... with chocolate cake, hadn't it been? That ended in two flour-covered pony fugitives and a very angry host and a hunk of cheese instead of delicious baked goods..
Dolci giggled to herself at the thought of it but nodded at Yuuki. She called out to her two guests with a sing-song voice, "Don't make too big of a mess~!", before she stepped out of the doorway. Her head dipped to pluck up the basket of cupcakes and walked towards where Yuuki was looking, calling out to her ponies as she moved.
"Who wants a cupcake?" Pause. "Leila, let go of your brother's mane! And Imani!! Come back here! Gin brought us cupcakes, where are you going?"
Once Dolci and Yuuki were a safe distance away, probably trying to wrangle their rowdy offspring, Isabel exhaled in a deep sigh of relief. It wasn't that she disliked Dolci or Yuuki, or that she wasn't thankful they were kind enough to allow Gin to use their ovens, but they were so nerve-wracking! It was embarrassing enough to realize the lifemates had caught on to what they were doing, it only made it worse to hear it verablized!
But after Gin passed by her on the way to the kitchen, Isabel trotted along after him. She listened dutifully to his instruction on slicing the apples and stepped to pick one out of the basket with her teeth. Once it was set on the counter, she stared at it briefly, before speaking to him quietly.
"I-I.. I've never done that before." Then even quieter, "Can you show me how?"

"HEY." a voice snapped through the air before that characteristic loud 'bang' assaulted the ears of any ponies nearby.
Feathery pink wings spread wide, a feather or two falling from their places to drift lightly to the earth, causing the pony to narrow his eyes at the rebelling bits of his wings. No matter.
He peered around, perfectly calm despite the fact that some sort of chaos floated around him, completely ignored by the pony.
Chaos in the form of forty-three chiming, jingling orbs wasn't that easy to ignore, but somehow he managed- why oh why had he thought it'd be amusing to throw orbs all over the world? Ah. Because he's Seraphim.
"Now where is that cake..." he mumbled to himself before his bright, jovial eyes fell on Isabel, standing behind a counter. He didn't know her name- just what she was- so, "Wedding Cake!" he called to her, trotting across the room to the pony.
He paused and looked around- Oh, he was in somebody's place of residence, that's why there was a counter. Of course.
Seraphim shot a glance to the orbs floating, chiming, clinking and just in general being all over the place. They'd be fine in here.
