Had a thought. Recently I have been drawn to times of flux and change, restlessness and such. It occurred to me that these might too be 'border places', in between two states if you will. Whatcha think San?

This is very interesting. Both how detailed the description of your path is, but also the concept of having a thread explaining all of this. Would you mind if I posted a thread explaining my path? I have a few interesting things I'd like to talk about regarding my path, but a couple of posts just won't do.

I was looking around on the Guild and thought I would read through this again since last time it intrigued me but was foreign to me. I thought I would read it again and see how I felt this time. It is again intriguing. Your God and Goddess appeal to me as you describe them. The Hedgewitch part also appeals to me too. I am not sure if it is the fact I am going to University, and for the first time ever will not be near my parents, in Fall but exploring other..Places appeals to me. I keep daydreaming about being in spaceship visiting new worlds. And so that appeals to me. But I dunno what to do with this...appealing shall we say.

I read "Exploring Shamanism" by Hilary S Webb years ago, which helped me realise something of which I'd been doing all along, and shaped by beliefs and practice. She uses the word anthropologically; it's largely American-based, but she makes reference to Tibetan practices too I think. I haven't reread it in years so maybe it's not as good as I remember it being, but it was very helpful at the time. So, I recommend reading through it if this is something you find interesting. Edit: There's a Heathen tradition of Otherworld travel known as Seidhr. It's sort of being pieced together by some people.

I think for the moment the best thing I can do is, as always, more research on Hedgewitches while working on my connection with Thor. Before I do any sort of 'walking' I'd need to be fairly certain I have a God or Goddess watching out for me. Which brings me to the other aspect of your Path that interests me. Your Gods. Like you and lots of others I started reading a Pop-Wicca and though I have shed much of that influence the concept of the Sun as a Male Deity of some kind perhaps similar to the Horned God and the Moon as a Female Deity of some kind akin the opposite of the Horned God really appeals to me. It just sounds right. But...again I am stuck..I've never felt Their influence in my life and wouldnt even know where to start to see if They are Gods I want to worship. PS-Your Passion is interesting in relation to an Idea I have found and liked more less the idea that "Doing anything as well as you can, such as living Life, can be a prayer."

The thing is, I can't tell you where to find my Gods. I can only describe them, and even then these descriptions come as a result of a variety of insights and gnostic experiences over a long period of time. I honestly have no idea whether these deities are worshipped by other people... perhaps they're worshipped by many other people, who just have different understandings or levels of understandings. But I can't tell you where to find Them, save by searching.

So I was rereading this again and I wanted to ask, how did you come to believe in your gods San? Like, did you always believe in a primal Goddess and God that were before anything else and went looking for them or did you just happen to stumble upon them one night that made you believe this?
This is mainly out of curiosity because the last few years I've believed that there was such beings myself. Although I've never experienced Them before, so I have no idea what They're like, I just can feel Their... existence, if not presence.

Sanzolvr29 So I was rereading this again and I wanted to ask, how did you come to believe in your gods San? Like, did you always believe in a primal Goddess and God that were before anything else and went looking for them or did you just happen to stumble upon them one night that made you believe this? This is mainly out of curiosity because the last few years I've believed that there was such beings myself. Although I've never experienced Them before, so I have no idea what They're like, I just can feel Their... existence, if not presence. Well, it was a very long time ago, you understand. I didn't write things down and I can't really remember. The way I think it went was, I was reading some really fluffy books on ENP and they were quite soft-polytheistic. But I was never soft-polytheistic; it was a view I didn't really understand and that sort of annoyed me. So, I always interpreted the sort of "main" god and goddess in these books - or rather (since there was much about the deities presented I didn't experience or agree with) the God and Goddess I came to know - as the "first" deities, the ones who were "parents" of all the others. It was a concept I think I'd been toying with for a while anyway, of two deities as precursors of the rest, but I wasn't actively searching for them. Then again, a lot of what I've come to believe and what I have experienced as far as "primal" nature of Them goes is something I've picked up as I've gone along, especially in recent years. That is to say, it's something I thought should be so, but not something I knew or had experienced as a part of Them. In many ways They are less "defined" than, say, the Norse gods. They're more panentheistic deities, They have less "shape". More in the way of trance and ecstasy is required to directly experience Them in a more "solid" way, if that makes sense. How I came to meet Them in the first place is something I've struggled over. I mean, I've often wondered whether the Lord and Lady I worship now, and the understandings I have of Them, are the same as the Lord and Lady I first met when I was starting out, just because my understanding of Them has changed so drastically. I wonder whether other people who worship a Lady and a Horned Lord are worshipping the same gods as me, whether I started off worshipping something that wasn't there and slowly discovered Them or whether They saw an opportunity for me to discover Them and stepped in when I first made overtures to "god and goddess" back 11-ish years ago. I was, after all, working from soft-poly books with very vague concepts suggested. As an aside: an issue with the gods in these books seems to be that they assume you will be worshipping particular "aspects" of these deities, so a full and deep understanding of them will never be required; many of them base it off've Wicca, of course, so you can't have a full and deep understanding of them because there's no access to it. Hence the worship of Athena/Coyote/Isis/Lugh/ whoever. But at the same time, for all these books are (possibly?) groping halfway towards the gods of Wicca and halfway towards the gods of other pantheons, I don't think the Lord and Lady I worship are the Lord and Lady of the Wica. I just don't. Part of it's the sort of ritual structure and how important that is, but to be honest what vague ideas I've run into about those deities don't seem to match up with the deities I've come across; after all, the L&L of Wicca are local deities of Britain. So ah... I'm not sure how well that answers your question! Perhaps too well. But it does mean there's not a lot of info I can give you on how to go about contacting Them. You could always take off all your clothes, turn out the lights, light some candles at a safe distance and dance. That's the sort of situation wherein I've had most of my epiphanies regarding Them.
