I remember perfectly, i was in my dad's car. And I told to put on a rock station for no reason. "Chop Suey" was playing on the radio I loved that song. Years passed and I had not heard anything from SOAD. Until B.Y.O.B came out. I Immediatly told myself that this band rules. So I went out and bought me all of their CDs!

The first SOAD song I listened to was "Sugar" on the radio. Good times, good times. 3nodding Toxicity really got me into SOAD after that.

I had seen there name before, but didnt know what they were. On a field trip to the Little Rock art museum, my friend Justin let me listen to Toxicity. .............................For 2 hours I listened to 'Prison Song', over and over and over and over again. It was briliant, unlike anything I had heard, so beatufil, and hard, and releveant.
However, the first time, the actual first time I heard them was on a PS game called Andy Mcdonald's Skateboarding or something like that. 'Sugar' was on there. I remeber thinking that 'This is the most insane song ive ever heard."

When I got the Toxicity album and listened to it, it felt like I had heard Atwa somewhere before, and Aerials too, but for the life of me I cannot remember where the hell I heard it, or when. It just felt familiar. Depressingly, I remember picking up a couple of their albums in a music shop and neeeeearly buying Steal This Album! when it was new, but for some reason I never did. I often wonder how my life would be different if I'd got into SOAD back then and not this recently. confused

The first song that I heard was Violent pornography. But I didnt know that it was S.O.A.D! I love that song... this year, my friend asked one of the guys in my class if he knew of System Of A Down and I blurted....."what an odd name...." and I listened for them on the radio. It was a beautiful night, the night that I heard "question" on the radio. I remember thinking that it sounded heavy and I was desperately trying to learn the words by heart. It was exactly 12:07 the first time I listened to them on WHJY. I was extremely lucky, because I usually only went intil 12, but the DJ said theyd be on a little later so I stayed up for it. I fell in loove. Then I got on their website and listened to "B.Y.O.B" and "question" every single day. I soon felt empty without them. When they first put hypnotize on the website, I was pissed because they didnt have the words on the site and I couldnt figure out what they were saying in the first part where Tianeman sp? square was. I love SOAD and Im making it a mission to buy ( not burn...Id feel too guilty if I ever went to a concert) all the albums. I have hypnotize, Mezmerize and Toxicity. Toxicity and Mezmerize are my favorites.

J.J. was but a whee 11 (or 10... I'm losing mah memory) year old, and was being a 'rebel' by staying up after midnight. She was watching MTV (YES! MTV! I used to be one of those 'I like whatever's on the radio' kids)
But that's beside the point.
I was watching MTV, and on came... CHOP SUEY! Well, J.J. was so awestruck by the video full of creepy guys (I'll admit it, when I was 11 (or 10), I though they were creepy... -_-) jumping around with weird camera angles and such that she vowed to check out the band next time she had internet access.
The rest was history.

Not the most extravagant story, but I heard them on Launch when they were artist of the month. First song was BYOB, and I fell in love. Then I made a new friend who showed me the rest of Mezmerise and Toxicity, and I continued on to get the albums since then.
