"Well if no else has a plan... I might..." He waited a moment for Ephraim to kill another monster before going on. "I heard a while back of a device called a mine? I don't have one but if someone else does we can stick it... Huwah!" He grunted as the steel sword flashed in the sun beheading a mauthe dog foolish enough to charge headlong at Joshua. "On one of the walls away from the main entrance and set it off... Not the quietest entrance but it might buy us some time." He looked back at the other members of the group to see how well his plan went over but before he could get an answer a pair of Entombed’s lurched up to him, one on either side.
He ducked the first Entombed’s claws and closing the distance came up with his sword between it's two outstreached arms and dragged his sword across its chest carving the ceature almost in half, a step back and a kick to the chest sent it sprawling to the sand. Wary of the one behind him he was already sidestepping pivoting as he did to face the monster and shoving his sword into it’s face feeling light resistance as the sword stabbed through dead flesh and brain matter. Yanking his sword back out of it’s head he pulled a cloth from his robes poured a liquid on it and wiped the blade clean swiftly as Joshua was slightly obsessive with his swords condition. After he completed this gruesome task he spoke up again.
"The only problem is finding someone on either side with one of em.... It's going to be a real toss of the coin on that front." Joshua didn't really mind if his suggestion was shot down... it seemed outlandish even to him he'd never seen a mine before but he had heard of them from the shopkeeper whom sold him his hat (Which he would have to vist again after he got back) when the good man had tried to sell him one. Joshua had declined which he now regretted doing.

"They dare calls us prey! Let’s show them what cat laguz are capable of, Lyre."
The cat nodded to her twin, and watched as Lethe shifted and headed straight into the fray. Lyre needed just a little bit more energy before shifting, unfortunately- she shadowed her sister, waiting for the last amount of laguz energy to build in her. While Lethe took care of a beastly creature, its form insulted their very tribe, another of them closed in on Lyre, thinking her unarmed... while perhaps on a normal day she would have had to take a hit in order to finally get the burst needed to shift, Ganon and Ninian had given an exquisite performance, and Lyre felt that she was lighter and faster than ever on her humanic feet. She rolled backward through the sand, the beast stumbling due to the undershot landing. It hit the sand heavily, and in the short amount of time it took to gain its footing, it was now facing an orange furred cat that screamed its challenge in the way that only felines can.
The twins were truly twins now, indistinguishable except for the colored bells around their necks- Lethe's were green, and Lyre's were purple.

Isadora slashed down the Bonewalker before blocking another Bonewalker's attack with her shield. Despite that she has less movement due to the sandy terrain, she was thankful of Ninian and Ganon for giving the ally the boost they needed. Without them, they would never be able to slay the monsters.
However, the paladin was not pleased by Cerebus' statement of them coming to "meet their demise." As if they came here to die? Only a fool would end up like that.
Tuomas let out a neighed and pulled back when the Bael tried to snap his leg. Isadora quickly swung her sword and slashed it between the Bael's eyes. She then thrusted her sword into the head to make sure that it was dead for good. Isadora looked over at the tower again.
Despite the monsters attacking them, the paladin saw that half of the monsters were hanging back, including Cerebus. Were they waiting for them to be tired out or to be the reinforcement of their ally? Since when did these monsters became intelligent to tactic? She normally see monsters charging the attack out of their instincts, but never would she saw them behaved like that.
Isadora noticed something flying toward her. She quickly pulled up her shield in front just in time to stop the arrow's path. Looking up, she saw a Travos heading to her. Isadora twirled her sword before charging at the archer Travos. She sliced the monster's weapon before giving another slice across the chest. She looked back at the tower and thought.
It seemed that the Cerebus was the leader. And like every strategy, if taken down the leader, the army was useless with no command to lead them. But how would they bypass the army of monster and slay the leader? Her ally were busied battling the monsters. FD may be able to do so, but he was guarding Ninian and Ganon from the monsters. She could count on Vaida and the fliers to fly down and attacked, but they too were busied with aerial monsters. They needed a strategy to lured all monsters in, including Cerebus if they wanted to get Razevi's attention. But how?

Now I'm stuck here But I don't belong here ~Ninian~"It looks like it’s you and me, Ninian," FD had told her. As she continued to dance, she smiled at the dragon. It was strange to be on the same side of the battle as him instead of, say, trying to kill him. Ninian had been worried when she'd realized that she had only been able to kill two of the fire dragons who had passed through the gate, but Eliwood had been able to defeat the third without dying. Somehow, that dragon had survived to come to Learania. And now, the dragon Ninian had failed to kill was to be her brother-in-law. How strange.
And how strange, too, that just now, she had thought of that person's name so casually. Realizing this, the heartache came. But even though it still came in force, it was delayed. It was a step, however small.
"Of course," she told the dragon in response during a lull in her dances. "Yes. We must return to them." She fumbled for a minute. "Um, FD?" she asked. "May I--do you mind if I call you Hikaru? FD just sounds so . . . odd." Really, was FD even a name? Or just short for Fire Dragon? And that certainly wasn't a very good name. Hikaru was much easier to say, and somehow, it fit the now-transformed fire dragon.
Fd's--Hikaru's--transformation had scared her at first, bringing back memories of the fire dragons she had known in the Dragon Realm. Those dragons had taunted both her and Nils, in part because they were Ice Dragons, and in part--mostly--because they were part human. But Hikaru--Hikaru was not like them. Hikaru loved Nils, and he would never hurt either Ice Dragon. For that, she was grateful, and sorry that she had ever tried to kill him. But that was the past. It was time for her to look to the future. And right now, that involved helping to win this battle.
Stepping forward into the first step of her dance, Ninian twirled, dancing for the nearest soldier. For now, she would stay near Ganon and FD--Hikaru--though not close enough to the Fire Dragon to get herself accidentally burned by his flames. I wanna be where you are Maybe I'm not so far from home

"...AWRAAAAAAWRR!! YOU PATHETIC WEAKLINGS! CAN'T YOU FIGHT WORTH YOUR DECAYING BALLS?!"
Clearly, Cerberus was discontented. The Magvellian monsters fell wave after wave under the attempts of their valient foes. The beast's back arched as though to make himself larger, his three heads low as they leered down at the battle that raged beneath them. Spittle flew as Cerberus roared and snarled all sorts of remarks down at his troops, stomping with his huge paws, the gate shuddering under his power.
"I KNOW, THEN, ON WHOM WE CANNOT DEPEND. MY BROTHERS! RAISE YOUR LANCES AND TAKE WING!! PREPARE A BANQUET OF BLOOD AND IRON FOR THE MASTER!!"
The obsidian Spawn, whom remained perfectly still in their perches and watched the battle, raised their heads as their commander issued his orders. Each ebon-skinned gargoyle lifted their wings and ascended with unusual grace into the air. Some bore wickedly cruel wings, some shredded and pathetic, some spanning stony feathers to blot out the stars. But they were all some sort of gargoyle. Faces both phantasmal and nostalgic peered out past their lances and halberds and spellbooks. Some had no weapons, only their claws and barbed tails.
The Spawn lifted higher and higher into the sky. Rather than charge into enemy ranks, however, the small battalion instead began to circle the group and the still-raging Magvellian monsters, slowly and steadily closing in, resembling a great orbiting ring chained together by a tight line of the creatures.
Cerberus's middle head lifted his lip in a grim snarl. Something told him that he would not last long.

"May I--do you mind if I call you Hikaru? FD just sounds so . . . odd."
The Fire Dragon, already transformed, replied in his natural tongue to the dancer. His words would come off as a mild snarling-like roar to others, but Ninian would understand what he was saying, being a dragon herself. "Sure, Ninian," he told her, although now facing the direction of the enemy, "call me whatever you like." How peculiar to be called Hikaru by someone other than Nils, FD thought. But then he realized FD was pretty peculiar in and of itself as something to go by. He turned his head sideways and made a large dragon-grin for her to see, advertising his array of sharp teeth.
FD turned his head back forward and positioned himself a little bit ahead of where Ninian was - not so far that he wouldn't be able to effectively protect her, but no so close to the dancer that he would get in the way of her work. Now, it was time to make some ash of the creatures that they were in combat with. FD assessed the layout of the battlefield to be sure not to end up Flametonguing someone on their own side. It would take a special sort of idiot on their side to get in front of a massive, lethal fire-breathing dragon. He would manipulate the spread of his Flametongue all the same so as to make it streamlined enough for some added space between the flames and any allies nearby. A wider attack would take out more enemies, but it was probably best to start out playing it safe when playing with fire. And with no allies too close by, he shot out his first wave of Flametongue at a group of semi-clustered monsters making their way forward. It felt good being able to eliminate multiple targets at once.
But the enemy leader, a large three headed monster-thing seemed displeased with how his side was fairing agaisnt the FEFers, procuring an onslaught of reinforcements in the form of gargoyles. Rather than attack aimlessly, these monsters seemed to have some sort of strategy, swirling about in a collective circle. FD wasn't exactly at the forefront of the fight, but if those gargoyles came close enough, FD would be more than happy to fire some Flametongue upwards -especially since he wouldn't have to worry as much about hitting an ally. Protecting Ninian was his primary concern for this fight though - the dragon didn't want to resort to going on the complete offensive against the enemy unless he felt it would be necessary for his side to win the fight. Considering the size of the enemy's apparent leader, though, he wasn't sure what to make of those chances.

When we get home, I know we won't be home at all... ... This place we live; it is not where we belong. • ◄AKIHI► • ————————————————
The music turned out to strongly benefit both Alihi and Akihi Kaua. For one, they were filled with confidence as they felt themselves lose the tension in their bodies; the music was successful in calming their minds and prepping them for the battle that awaited them.
The tactician remained near her brother, who was firing Elfires at all that appeared as a threat; it didn't matter whether it was revenant, wight, mauthe dog, or something else. They were all receiving a nice, magical fireball to their body. With each spell he performed, Akihi felt more assured of himself.
"I don't think there would be a back way in..." Alihi replied clearly to Joshua, though with her timing it sounded like she was repeating Ephraim. "And, as appealing as blowing our way into the tower sounds, many things could go wrong. It could be too weak, someone could get seriously injured, it could not go off..." She shook her head slowly. "That, and I don't see them used often... I never liked them because they were too risky for my tastes." Her hand tensed around her rapier, though she did not dare to bring herself closer to the battle. "There's not many options on what we can do--"
She stopped herself mid-word, taking a moment to form exactly what she was going to say with the sudden appearance of the Spawn. "... Except deal with what's thrown at us and survive." Alihi said, glancing at the tower. There was no way they could fail now, not when they were so close. "Don't give up! We must fight on...!" She called out to the group, still unwilling to fight; she had a rather bad record of nearly getting killed in battles, and death was the last thing she wanted at the moment. (( ... I nicely demand a bard + bard + dancer combination someday. :D ))

Rei clenched his fists in anticipation as he heard his name be called. Were he of the state of mind he were in only a year ago, he'd be running around and chirping like a child. But, thankfully for his sanity and his dignity, he was not. With a faint smirk, he turned to face Alihi. "I won't disappoint, Alihi." The Druid said it with just enough arrogance to edge on being cocky. But really, he felt he could have some room to do so. There were hardly any other users of his branch of magic, so he could very easily be one of the best in the land.
The Druid smiled as he saw the massive Cerberus in the distance. This tower wasn't disappointing him, either. Eldritch monsters abound, of all sorts! A three headed beast, like a giant Gwyllgi! Magnificent! The Druid began to marvel at the tower and its inhabitants, walking leisurely around the battlefield. The performance of Ganon and Ninian made him able to effortlessly bob and weave around the various monsters that approached him. They were easily taken out by the others, though. He was to go to the Tower, so why should he help everyone else with their job? And even worse, he was a Druid! They shouldn't be in the front lines! Him, be alongside the swordsmen and lancers, within a dangerous distance from the enemy? Preposterous!
It was then that he saw the ring of obsidian gargoyles form above him, as well as everyone else. He couldn't make it into the tower with these foul piles of waste barring his path! Rei took the Fenrir tome from his cloak, and opened it to a fresh page of magical text. Almost inaudibly, Rei spoke the words of the tome, and three separate globes of dark matter appeared in front of him. With a point of his hand, they shot forward, two straight ahead, and one up into the sky. His hand closed into a fist, and each ball erupted into its own spinning ring of dark flames. The flames spun faster and faster along their own orbits, searing all that crossed their paths. As the Druid released his balled up fist, the rings shot into themselves, and each created a large explosion of energy. Now, a hole was made in the monsters in the land, and in the air.
With a wave towards Alihi, Rei closed the tome. "Lead the way!"
(( M'kay, in case it's hard to tell, that was effectively a critical hit with Fenrir, since crits do 3x damage, and it'd be like three spells. So, Rei went and blew a hole into the monsters so the five people going to the tower could, you know, get there. :3 ))

Moving along with the group, Ziaram looked up after a period of time after something was yelled down at them, and of course there wer ethe hordes of monsters coming...well this definitely shows that the evils of thw world would not stop trying to stop them. "Well then lets give them something that they will never forget, then we move towards the tower and get inside, and save those taken away from us." Bringing up his Light Brand, and showering light down at an oncoming mogall, who had foolishly chosen to go at him. Yet once the...Cerberus came around, he looked, and was amazed at the beast. "Whoa...since how long have there been foes like that around here?" Seeing that the druid had cut a hole through the line of resistance blocking them, he looked over. "You have great power...I'll remember that."

Joshua nodded as he listened to Ahili, honestly Joshua would have gone through with it despite the risks, but he supposed Ahili just wasn't the gambling type and when she trailed off Joshua followed her gaze with his own.
"Yippie, skippie." Joshua mumbled to himself as he saw that the spawn were moving in now. "Gah I'm getting tried of this. Ephraim! Let's just cut away through to the door! Ziaram watch our back. Ahili maybe you should keep behind Ephraim and I with the druid keeping an eye on you?" He asked trying not to sound like he was giving orders. The last thing he wanted was to take command, the only reason he was still King was because he promised his mother, selfish as it may be he'd rather be King of the Coin rather than King of Jehanna.
Thoughts of home and his promise troubled him as his keen eyes made for spotting which way a coin would land searched for a weakness in the formation, but as he watched the druid took care of that problem.
"Well looks like our luck is turning!" He shouted running pell-mell for the entrance before it was blockaded by more troublesome creatures.

xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!" "The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!" At the sight of monsters, Vaida flew into the sky, and observed, for a moment. The battalion was in full charge, and were combating the monsters well. The wagons and healers stayed in the back, and did what they could, while the main forces fought strongly. Certain units had to stay back, and medics needed to be protected. Leaders were also known to stay back. Vaida however, hated that. What good was a leader that didn't lead the charge into battle?
After watching things begin for a moment, and getting a good layout of their battleground, the wyvern lord gripped her spear, and smiled most cruelly. "Ha! You call this a threat?! Come, monsters, come with all you have! Hahaha!" This was her cry, as she soared forward, into the battlefield. Mihira trailed behind, and did her best to take care of the airborne monsters, along with any other sky mounts.
A mogall? A gorgon? Possibly a bael? Vaida laughed at the creatures who thought they might land a hit on her. One after the other, they kept on coming, and it was all to wyvern lord's delight! Taking but a momentary break in enjoying the ecstasy of battle, Vaida looked up at the tower, and saw a good many winged foes organizing. Vaida simply chuckled, she knew these nuisances well, due to the battle she had with Evelyn. Oh, but these seemed different, they bore different means of attack. No matter, bring on the challenge, it will gladly be met!
What a surprise, however, that these newly spawned foes did not charge, and instead began to circle around. Vaida was curious as to their goal, but surely these monsters didn't think this would do anything to aid them. All this action did was annoy the Guard commander. Enemies that fly around her like gnats? Infuriating! Still, with these pests about, the group wouldn't be able to get to the tower. Even then, there was still an obstacle, but Vaida had just the right method of dealing with it.
From out of nowhere, tremendous dark power surged into the flying pests, and made them falter. Vaida looked down toward where the power seemed to originate from, and chuckled. "My my, what bitterness he holds within his power, how delicious." She quickly turned her focus back onto the battle, however, and looked out toward the tower's gate. She now had the opening she needed. "You there!!" Vaida yelled out to the giant beast with three heads. "You think these small insects have what it takes to bring a challenge?! YOU FOOL!" She took off quickly in the bests direction. "Do not mock me by sending your pets! No, instead, come at me yourself! Take up this challenge and show me just what power you have!!" She lifted her spear into the air, and gripped it, ready to swing it down. "If you don't... Then you shall DIE!!"
The wyvern lord slashed her spear downward and unleashed a surge of dark power from within it; as to be expected from a spear imbued with power by Nergal, himself. Of course, who knows who else would have been able to master such a weapon. And the master of that spear did watch quite intently with a glorious grin, as the darkness rushed toward the three-headed beast. Would it take up the challenge and survive, or prove to be weak and perish? Either way, hopefully this would indeed open up the way for that group to enter the tower.

No matter how many monsters fell, they did not seem any closer to their goal. Many were still around, and there was still that Cerberus by the door. Akihi paused, taking a moment to turn to his sister. "... Alihi... Shouldn't you guys be heading over to the tower now? We're capable of holding them off on our own..."
Alihi's eyes flicked over to her brother. "Akihi. I would love to, but I'm trying not to be reckless and stupid, and I don't see any--"
"Lead the way!"
She paused, looking over towards Rei before noticing the hole in the line of monsters. And oh look, it lead straight to the tower! The Cerberus, too, was now being attacked by Vaida. How convenient! "... Ah. You mean take that way." She glanced back again at the hole, noticing that one of the people in her group was already running for the tower. Smart idea. "... Take care, Aki. I don't want you dying out here, you understand?
"... Same back at you, Alihi..."
The tactician grinned confidently. "Oh, don't worry! We'll return, with Blossom and Amara!" She patted Akihi's shoulder quickly before beginning to sprint through the opening that Rei had created, making sure that the others in her group followed as well. She gritted her teeth; it felt too soon to run, but she couldn't afford hesitation, either.

Needless to say, Cerberus was not the type to let himself be so easily humiliated. As soon as he saw the surge of eldritch power hurtling in his direction, the beast kicked off to the side and ran down the side of the gateway. Or at least he seemed to be running down its side, even when it seemed to fall completely vertical, his powerful legs pumping and launching on down toward the sandy battlegrounds.
What a joke! As he leapt off and landed into the sand, his leftmost and rightmost heads glanced up toward the challenger. One lousy human was bold enough to make such a challenge? This human either had excessive prowess or excessive impudence. But it whetted his appetite nonetheless, making the middle head smirk as the beast hurtled along the sands toward the main battle.
Cerberus did not engage the main group. No, he did as the Spawn did, his massive body rushing instead to circle the others. Part of it was to cut them off and part of it was to see if that wyvern rider would really engage in combat with him. If the human was as bold as it claimed, it would come down and fight him on the ground, or at least within leaping range. His three heads opened their jaws in slavering barks and snarls as spittle flew from their glinting fangs.
The Spawn were upset. But in sacrificing a few of their brothers, they knew which was a greater threat to their kind. Immediately the remainder of the obsidian-skinned gargoyles turned their various weapons inward and converged into one spot: the young Druid's location. Maces, spears, and halberds were set to slaughter, claws set to mutilate.
The tactics of the remainder Magvellian monsters did not change.

"Such... interesting things." He was in awe of the creatures, one lunging for him. Tackled and pinned by a mouthe doog, Charles snapped out of the mindset of being fascinated, and sucker punched the monster that was responsible for pouncing him. It slunk off of Charles, collapsing on its side for a moment, then got back up and shook off the sand; snorting. Charles didn't waste any time, he flashed a glove radiant of light and punched the dog into the sand, crushing its skull.
More came after him, but like hell were they going to best him. He set them aflame and pierced their hides with golden rods, mainly aiming for the stomach region. He had half a mind to say 'chew on that', but he didn't want anyone cringing on the battlefield.
