Lucia’s eyes stole a glance at the pretty Domo she had snuggled before. She smiled sadly at his attempt to cheer her up and then a foreign hand gently pat one of hers. Looking over she saw a pretty raevan she had never met before with dark hair like her own. Reaching up with the other hand the girl didn’t pet, ridiculously oversized paw still covering the back of her hand, Lucia fingered Tariel’s silky hair and a soft purr escaped her lips. Not content, but beginning to come around. Her other hand reached out and grabbed Domo’s hand, holding it gently in her soft hand. She liked being lower to the ground, but the raevans were certainly kind to comfort a near stranger, even if they were in her house.

As Melisande came over and suggested a dance Lucia tried to smile at her friend. Releasing Tariel’s she reached out trying to touch Pasha’s soft spinning ribbon. She didn’t want to hurt it, so her fingers were flat, just wanting to feel it. She smiled genuinely as the muse’s soft silky ribbon brushed across her fingers.

Pulling back, the kitten grabbed Tariel’s hand and, still holding Domo’s tried to pull both herself and the Tari up. She wrapped Pasha’s spinning body in a hug, effectively stopping the spinning. She paused, thinking about Tari’s and Domo’s words. You know ******** Rivener. He can go to hell on his high horse. Douche. The kitten’s eyes hardened. This was going to be a party that he would be SORRY he missed!!!

The kitten grinned and spun around to their CD player. Yuurei had a pretty good collection of music. While Michael Jackson had been known as the butt of every ***** joke during his life, his death seemed to make everyone forget his escapades with little boys, or so Yuu had ranted one day. Pulling out the CD that her guardian had cringingly bought (she said she did like a few songs) Lucia placed the shiny disc into the player and pushed it in, ready for track one. She spun the volume knob up and grinned. This would be good.

BAH BAH! Bah bah bah! “Thriller” boomed from their surround sound system and she giggled happily.

With everyone decided on keeping the party alive, Domevlo was hellbent on enjoying himself the rest of the night. Whatever was behind the other two for fighting it didn't matter cause they were gone. That was good. With his hand being held he watched it curiously and then looked to Lucia observing her actions quietly. Did she liked holding hands? He wondered about this and filed it away for later. When he turned he found another pretty Raevan, she looked older, had more of a mid section. Oh! She was like River-thing!

Distracted by the sudden boom of the music, Domo squeaked turning toward the sound with a squint of his eyes. He watched curiously until the music began to pick up and his attention was drawn to the rose Raevan. He wanted to go over and say hello but wasn't sure if she were still upset with him. For now he remained at a distance. If she snapped at him again for something he didn't do he wasn't sure if he could keep a cool head. "Domo dance." He announced suddenly, trying his best to do just that but managed to only sway awkwardly in place. It was clearly frustrating but entertaining to watch.

"Var--!" Oh my gosh! How could things escalate so quickly? Rivener was bombastic at the best the best of times, but this was rather ridiculous. Something wasn't quite right with his friend. He had douchey tendencies from time to time, but not without a bit more of a reason to act aggressively.

He had wanted to say something to Varuns, anything to make him feel better, maybe a hug, but the tight crowd around the fight was too hard to navigate through and too quickly was the frei gone.

I thought you didn't like him

Ugh, inner voice rears it's ugly head. Yeah, well, fishies gotta look out for each other.

After the commotion settled, he wondered what happened to Melisande? Did she leave without him? "Meli!" He called out though it was hard to hear over the music and chatter of others. "Meli!" He tried again.

The fight that brewed between Riv and Varun snapped LuLu's resolve like a tightened thread. The moment the first blow landed, a wing had nearly hit the frei, the rabbit had skittered across the room to Josh in nearly two bounds. It was an impressive feat given her small stature.

The girl gripped her guardian's wrist and tugged him to the door like a woman gone mad. She dearly cared for her new friends, but something inside her demanded that she leave the precarious situation.

It was not safe.

Her mind kept repeating the foreboding metronome in her head. It was a nagging tick in the back of her mind. Josh gave a soft yelp he was dragged to the exit. The boy eventually obliged with his raevan and waved to any passing party guests with an embarrassed flick of his wrist.

They were outside in a matter of seconds. LuLu ignored the decorations that had once frightened her to the brink of screaming. Her focus was on getting to Josh's truck. When they arrived there, the rabbit was overjoyed; even more now that she could hear music blaring from the house.

Her ears swiveled away from the noisy abode. She floated into the passenger's seat without speaking a word.

Lucia’s smile was forced. She was trying to have fun, and make the party something Rivener would regret leaving. She had gotten up. She had turned on music. It wasn’t really working on her. In fact, the kitten wasn’t feeling too well.

Lucia’s skin and rune paled a little and the black whiskers drawn on her face stood out even further on her face. The kitten blinked a few times, and wrapped her arms around Tariel in a hug, letting her weight sag against the skimpy mermaid. A soft “meew” escaped her lips as she nuzzled up against the dark-haired frei. This one smelled good, she thought

Lucia shook her head slightly. She wasn’t more warm than normal. Still leaning against Tari, she rolled her shoulders, they were sore. Not only did this one smell good, she was comfy. Lucia nuzzled her head against the angel’s shoulder and neck. She gently licked Tariel’s neck, cleaning this comfy raevan. ”I like you” she said.

Yuurei looked at the clock as she leaned against the counter in the kitchen. How had it gotten so late? She smiled as the clock struck ten. Everyone would be going home pretty soon. It wasn’t that the blonde didn’t like parties or Halloween. This just wasn’t her type of party.

WHAT THE HELL! Lucia was soft and comfy and getting her pillow nice and clean and now it was being loud and yelling. She clasped a hand gently around the pillow’s mouth so it’s cries would be muted and continued her bath.

Yuurei heard the call for help. What was going on now? The blonde wondered. She had been upstairs making sure no amorous raevans (or guardians) stole away to the upper rooms when Rivener had shown up, but the feminine cry for an adult reached her ears. Walking through the dining room, Yuurei saw Lucia – her Lucia! – leaning against, covering the mouth, and licking the neck of a very uncomfortable looking female raevan. ”Lucia!” she yelled over the music, pulling on her frei’s arm and dragging her away from Tariel. ”What do you think you are doing?!”

The kitten glared at the offensive hand that was grabbing her arm. Small. Insignificant. How dare that hand touch her! Lucia lunged at Yuurei’s hand, her teeth biting into it, making it release her and she leapt back with a hiss.

Yuurei let out a yelp and examined her hand, noting some teeth indentations, but nothing more. Lucia was acting the part of her costume too much. ”Are you okay?” she asked, turning to the girl who had cried out.
