Alex smiled some more, nodding. "Well, then. In that case..." he trailed off, flicking one hand towards his staff still leaning on the wall and generated more green mist around it. He raised his hand a few inches and leveled out his palm, and the staff raised up in kind then laid itself out horizontally, floating over the refreshments table and over the heads of the other students. Lowering his hand, he let the staff drop to the floor and leaned it against the chair next to his.
He pulled out the chair for himself and sat with her. He blinked at her question, his wide eyes now attentive to her. "How does it work? Uh, let me see if I can explain it... It's like I have a frequency, y'know like a radio station? And that frequency is the same frequency that the green mist of my magic is on. I think it has to do with my personality." He unfolded a napkin and laid over his lap before motioning to the plates before them. "Shall we eat?"
After a few satisfying bites, Alex swallowed, wiped his mouth and sipped his drink before he piped up again. "And anyway, enough about me. What about you? You weren't homeschooled, so you went to public school?" Alex took another bite of his sandwich to allow her time to respond. Swallowing, he followed up with, "And what kind of powers do you have? Mine are kinda generic, but do you have some kind of shape-shifting power? I mean, that's what the note I got about you indicated, but they weren't specific."

Blue took up her hand, laughing a bit. " Yeah well my mom and sister don't seem to have a problem with it. My dad told me I might have the most extreme case of ADD in the multiverse" he said, laughing again. He wiped off his clothes and looked back up at the woman. " My name is Caesar Miranda. Though everyone calls me Blue...well because I have blue hair and eyes" he said with a slight smile on his face.
He looked over at the table that suddenly shook. He swore he saw someone go under it. " Erm....is your friend ok? I know its creepy in here but its not that scary!" Blue said rolling his eyes a bit. Turning his focus back to the woman. " So whats your name? And I don't know if you noticed but you forgot your costume" he said, starting to lower his voice. " Your in your underwear and almost everyone is staring at you, especially the boys" Blue whispered, pointing out the boys staring at them.
Shepard cracked his neck, walking into the dimly lit dance floor. The dance had just started and already there where alot of people. And even in this mix, he was able to spot Blue. His eyebrow raised as he watched him skid and hit the butt of some scantly clad woman. He sighed expecting him to get smacked but was surprised when the woman offered to help him.
With a laugh, Shepard slide on his brown robe and put his hood up. He was going to watch Blue for right now. Let him have his fun. He could be grounded later.

Sukai listened to Rawrshark, as he softly answered her questions. He really was a shy one. For someone who was decked out in such a complicated, outspoken outfit she was rather surprised to find a shy person.
"What are you for Halloween? Tell me somethings about yourself?"she heard her questions being posed back towards her.
"Well, my name's Sukai, as you already know. I'm 16, a girl, a junior at this high school. I transferred here cause my parents made me, and I like to play the guitar," she replied.
"But as for what I am this Halloween. I'll leave it up to you to guess."she finished smiling lightly. She wasn't about to let out the fact that she was a vampire, and a very young one at that. Still a baby compared to some other older beings.

Phae watched Alex's staff with some mild interest. She was halfway tempted to reach out and touch that green mist but decided against it. She wasn't sure what it was or what it would do. She wasn't the over curious sort. It had nothing to do with her and so it didn't effect her.
She watched the staff fall to the ground and then took another bite of her cookie. She'd already eaten two. She had three more left. She had a huge sweet tooth and could have eaten the entire display if she would have been alone.

Kira's eyes glued themselves to the new display, unblinking and unwilling to miss a moment, even though she knew what was going to happen and she'd already seen it. Still, from looking at her, you'd think she was seeing it for the first time, every time. Like a kid in meeting a mall Santa while thinking he was real. It wouldn't have been surprising if she began bouncing in her seat, but she did at least refrain from that. She sat rather still, still carefully cradling the rose between her slender fingers. Fingers that were clawed only upon the pointer and middle, the rest of her nails simply that; fingernails.
Her eyes snapped back to him once the show was over, eager to hear more about his power. "Ah... that's really neat," she replied quietly, watching his hands, then the staff, and then the rose once more, before her attention finally shifted onwards to the food. She let her gaze sweep over the assortment, and a smile touched her lips, her blush diminished by now, reduced back to the regular, almost snow white tint of normal.
She nodded and picked up a sandwich, saving sweets for after, and held it needlessly with both hands, taking somewhat small bites. She seemed unwilling to put it down until she'd finished, but then he started asking about her, and she paused. For a split second, she looked like a deer in the headlights, staring at him through wide eyes. But it passed, and she slowly set her sandwich down again, squirming a little in her seat as her fingers lifted to tug again at her ear. It was still partner-less. "Um, well... I'm not sure about powers. It seems more like a curse. I, um... I can shift, but.. I lose control when I do." Her fingers had lingered upon the fuzzy ear, gently tugging almost without realizing it. Her eyes had glued to her plate. "I turn into a panther, but it's... bigger than a normal one. I can't control it, so.. so if I change, you should probably get out of my way."

"hmmmmm i honestly have no idea as to what you are for halloween." he stared at the floor as he said this. "do u want any punch? or anything to eat? anything at all?" he asked. he was hoping that she would ask for something abnormal so it would people would think that he was weirder for getting it and would be more likely to leave him alone.

Alex watched her fidget at his questions and chastised himself mentally. 'Good going, you idiot. You made her uncomfortable. Well, don't just sit there, change the subject!' He frowned, hating himself and searching desperately for a subject that would distract the girl from her discomfort. "Well, I think your powers sound cool." 'You idiot! That's not changing the subject! Oh well, might as well keep going...'
"And why worry about not being able to control it? This is a school for teaching us to control our powers, right? I mean, I'm here to learn about how to do more with my magic than bus tables." He hoped his joke would help to put her at ease. "Anyway, if you don't want to, we don't have to talk about that." He sheepishly dropped his head back to his plate and took a bite of his sandwich.

Kira cautiously peeked back at Alex when he claimed that it sounded cool. She didn't think so, but he didn't know the full story either. She really didn't wish to disclose everything, so for now she'd keep the worse parts to herself. Her ear twitched a little, tilting toward him from its lonely, unmatched perch on the side of her head, her eyes staring at him in slight surprise. "Y-yeah, well... when you go to a public school, and live in a normal town, when you transform into an over-sized panther and can't control it, things can get... Well, it's not good."
She huffed out a little sigh and slouched a little in her seat, pausing to nibble at a cookie. Once again, she held it pointlessly with both hands, then stopped halfway through and set it back down. She swallowed, and then glanced toward him once more, her expression conflicted with worry. "I did come here to control it, but... I don't know what this power is. I wasn't born with it. It just appeared... one day." She paused, brow crinkling into a frown as she studied her plate. "I don't know what I am, so.. where do I start? I have to talk about it sometime, to figure it out..."
Another pause, and then she straightened with a sharp lurch, snapping out of it. She let out a small, awkward laugh and picked up her drink. "B-but this should be fun! So we can talk about it later." Her cup shifted, tilting toward him in the action of a toast, a small grin spread across full lips.

Phae continued to listen to them, a bit intrigued. She thought it was a bit morbid but she enjoyed hearing about other people's problems. In a way it made her feel less angry with herself. She wasn't the only one who messed up. Other people had problems as well.
That didn't mean she would suddenly open up to anyone though. She tried to think of a single friend that she had made in her life. She hadn't. She hadn't actually spoken to anyone other than her aunt for years. She didn't feel socially awkward however. She wasn't shy. She didn't feel out of place. She didn't know how she felt.
She placed the empty plate next to her chair. She didn't want to move just yet and was afraid that if she got up to throw it away someone would come and take it away.

Alex frowned at her sadness. No one should be under that much pressure, he decided. Compassion washed over him and his hand flew over to hers before he could stop it. He felt his hand settle over hers and grasp it firmly. The words came to him in a rush, and he had to slow himself down with an effort of willpower. "It wasn't your fault. Whatever's happened. You didn't cause it. You didn't ask for these powers, just like I didn't ask for my magic."
He smiled when Kira seemed to cheer up enough to raise her cup in a mock toast. Enthused, he couldn't help but raise his plastic cup to hers and tap the rims together. He drank in one long, throat tingling swing, setting his can down gently. His eyes roved back up to her, seeing her apprehension. Poor girl. He had to say something to alleviate her self-consciousness.
"It helps to talk, but only when you're ready. For now, let's just enjoy the da-" he cut himself off. He didn't want to put pressure on Kira with the word date. "Night," he finished. "After we're done eating, we could go check out the haunted house I heard about. It's supposed to have a whole bunch of weird rooms with monsters and treasure." He blushed, thinking how childish he must sound. "I know, it sounds lame, but who knows? It just might be fun."

Kira was oblivious to the one listening in. She was much more focused upon Alex's sudden action. He'd grabbed her hand, and she'd stiffened, her eyes growing a little wide. She'd fallen still out of surprise, yes, but also because she knew that three fingers were clawed. It was a silly thought, but still the first to enter her head. She was afraid she'd scratch him. So she gave him a blank, surprised stare, until he let go and she exhaled in a long sigh a breath she hadn't realized she'd held. It'd just caught her off guard so completely that her mind took a second to register that he'd spoken as well. "Wasn't my..?" she began blankly, then trailed off as he tapped against her cup.
That brought her smile back. Her shoulders slouched, relaxing themselves and she tipped her drink to her lips to take a rather large drink as well. She nodded lightly, catching the near slip of the word but not making a deal of it. Instead, she she gave a sudden shiver, her body trembling for a second as it ran through her. "A.. a haunted house?" She was a bit of a scaredy cat at times, but with good reason. Sort of. It seemed he'd likely find out why, if this house was authentic. "Are... are there really monsters?" she asked, looking over him with an odd mixture of childish fear and curiosity.

Sukai thanked the stars that she had drank some blood before she had come to this party. Though it was unusual to see a vampire eat anything in particular and drink anything aside from blood, she thought about what she had wanted to drink.
"Um, can I just get a glass of punch please?"she asked shyly not really knowing what else was at the table.

Alexandros frowned inwardly at himself. He didn't seem to be very good at consoling people. All he seemed to be able to do was put her more and more off her guard and make her more uncomfortable. He was glad when she brightened up again. "Uh-huh, a haunted house. I don't know how genuine it is, though. It's a school thing, so I doubt it's too dangerous."
He grinned at her child-like innocence. "Don't worry, if anything really is dangerous, I won't let it anywhere near you. Besides, I have a feeling it's more of a joke than a real spooky interior." He wolfed down the rest of his food and set to the cake.
The first forkful hit his tongue in a cascade of flavors, the primary taste among them was vanilla, but he also tasted some pineapple in there, too. "Mmm, this cake is magnificent." He tore off another forkful of the moist cake and held it out towards her, holding his other hand underneath it for some reaon. Possibly because just pointing a fork at her would look weird. "Here, taste it."

Kira laughed, waving her hand idly toward him again. "Oh yes, please protect me, kind sir~" she said, with a hint of sarcasm in her joking tone. She was certainly trying to go along with this subject change. She ate the rest of her cookie, staring out over the dance floor as she nibbled at it from her two handed grasp. It looked alright, this layout. Too bad she wasn't the slightest bit interested in dancing. She'd just end up making a fool of herself. She glanced toward corner boy and his new friend, then around at a few others, before she caught Alex's comment.
"Hmm? O-oh, um..." The distracted remark turned to a little stammer of surprise as she saw him holding out the fork, and suddenly her cheeks were a nice shade of pink again. She stared for a second, but then slowly leaned forward. She didn't want it to fall and be wasted! Yes, that was a good excuse. This seemed like a very date-friendly act. Carefully, almost daintily, her lips met the fork to accept the treat, and she quickly leaned back again, chewing quietly until her face lit up as the taste fully hit her. "It.. is really good," she agreed with another soft laugh, her fingers absently brushing over her flushed cheek. Then, just like that, a second ear had appeared upon her head, leaving her with two sets instead of one and a half. She failed to notice.
