I shall now demonstrate the Law of Sacae… Tribesmen fighting with all they have for the sake of one another! ~)Sue(~ Sue saw a sign on the window of the Hostess Club, which wasn't quite too far away from her bow shop that she ran, as a matter of fact, they were on the same street, in the same district. Now that a restaurant was so close to where the nomad worked, she could stop by whenever she desired. When the sign announced that cakes now had some kind of discount, and that some of them were holiday-themed, the young woman could not resist a temptation to go inside and devour the sweets. Sure, last night haunted her, it did a lot. It was constantly on her mind how easily magic could take people away from us, but... as always, her iron resolve held true. Sue was not going to be brought down by the odd happenings that came in the welcoming party of the Chieftain. She'd find a way to go forward and possibly bring back the daughter of Alihi, the tactician whom she considered a tribesman. Although she saw people meeting, she preferred to stay quiet and by herself. Sue was not happy, but she was still alive to fight. Maybe the sweets would raise her spirits. She raised her hand. "Waitress?" she said out loud, but as quiet as possible. "I'd like a slice of cheesecake... and hot herbal tea, please." Those two things were the most relaxing of consumable delights, at least to the Nomad Trooper. ~)Nomad Trooper(~ Tell me, is your reasoning bent? Looking up from where he was, Ziaram noticed Sue over by herself, and he knew that she was not happy, just like he was, so he chose to go over. "I hope that sometime soon they find that intruder...I do want to give her or him a piece of my mind...especially after last night. That girl was just a,,,calmer and a happy one, yet now...this is going a bit far."

She hadn't talked to them, and yet, people were bothering to come over and say words to her. Lycians and Learanians alike were both strange in this respect... in the plains, if one was silent, everyone knew that it meant one thing: that person was either mute or they had nothing to say. But still, she couldn't be rude. She had to say something. "Last night surprised us all... but I won't let it bring me down so easily. Say... the healers fixed you up, didn't they? That raven came at you..." ~)Nomad Trooper(~ Tell me, is your reasoning bent? If so, allow me to straighten it with my >--arrows-- > and o=|lllswordll>

Nodding he showed his shoulder. "They healed me, yet I still feel the pain...it happens with some wounds that I know of, yet that night is one I will never forget...the voice, the rapier...I still have that rapier now that I think of it...yet right now, all we have to do is move on. Sure, this is a motive for some of us to improve, yet it is also a stepping stone...we all should now know that we are not always safe."

Now I'm stuck here But I don't belong here ~Ninian~Ninian slowly made her way down the street, her mind not entirely focused on the path her feet were taking. Her knees still ached from her fall earlier, and the lack of rest, besides the fact that the healers would not be happy with her, was not helping matters. She had stayed with Alihi for a long while, well into the night, until Alihi had left. Afterwards, the dancer had returned to her own room in the castle, but had found herself unable to sleep. And how could she? She had known Amara, known what a sweet child she was, how her very presence made the world seem just a little bit kinder.
And now . . . that kindness was gone.
Somehow, they had to find a way to get Amara back, but how? They had no place to start; perhaps someone had recognized the kidnapper behind that awful mask, but where had the winged woman taken her? And why? Ninian was no closer to an answer now than she had been right after Amara had been kidnapped.
Completely exhausted from staying up for going on 24 hours straight, Ninian looked up, trying to concentrate on her surroundings to at least see where she was. Her eyes--well, eye--happened to alight upon a sign, saying something about cake.
Food would be good, I suppose, she thought as her stomach muttered a protest; she hadn't had a chance to eat since lunch the previous day.
Gingerly, she approached the shop, belatedly recognizing it as her new workplace only after she entered and saw the inside and the people running around in rather revealing and ridiculous looking costumes. Fortunately, she hadn't been scheduled to work tonight, or whenever right now was, and everyone had been off earlier due to the party. Before she had left the castle, Ninian had changed out of her party clothes and into something more comfortable and suited to the colder weather, though she didn't really need the added warmth her coat provided. At least what she wore was better than what the hostesses were wearing; her coat, though shorter than the dress she normally wore, at least came past her knees; their 'dresses' barely covered anything at all, as far as she was concerned. but that was the uniform, so she supposed she would have to get used to it.
Taking a moment to take in her surroundings, she finally spotted Sue sitting by herself, though someone Ninian didn't know was talking to her. Another search, and her tired eye found Roy, surrounded by others, yes, but it was definitely Roy. Roy, and FD, an orange-haired girl, and a red-haired woman Ninian believed was called Melethia.
Quietly taking two of the cakes and hoping they weren't filled with anything too weird, Ninian approached Roy's table.
"Hello," she said shyly, too tired to smile, but grateful Roy was here. Part of her didn't want to let him out of her sight until whoever--or whatever--had taken Amara was captured and Amara safely returned, but Roy was very nearly an adult, and more than capable of taking care of himself.
"May I sit with you all?" I wanna be where you are Maybe I'm not so far from home

I shall now demonstrate the Law of Sacae… Tribesmen fighting with all they have for the sake of one another! ~)Sue(~ Sue was glad that the one whom was first attacked yesterday was fully healed, for the most part. She was wondering if any of the waitresses heard her order, but in the meantime she became lost in her thoughts again. There wasn't much to say, not really. Maybe the food would give her a little ease. After all, it always seemed like desserts were the best thing to get one's mind going in good directions.
I remember when General Roy first gave me a cake from Lycia. It was... one of the most pleasant dishes I'd ever had.
And she couldn't wait for more of them.~)Nomad Trooper(~ Tell me, is your reasoning bent? If so, allow me to straighten it with my >--arrows-- > and o=|lllswordll> I ain't givin' in, no matter how hard th' fight before me looks t' be!
>{Leon}< And so the orders were given, at least about six hours earlier when Leon had arrived at the Watch House to brief the others. He and the rest of the Watch were to stay out of this. The reasons behind it, it was FEF's problem?! What kind of reason was that, FEF was still part of Eyris, the rulers of Eyris no less. Their problem was everyone's!
None the less, orders were orders. Every time he'd disobeyed, every time he argued, Leon had always been wrong. Maybe now was the time he finally listened to his superiors.
He took one of the tables, he too choosing to be away from the various gatherings taking place.
The 'ells' right 'nyhow? Followin' orders or doin' wha's right in yer mind? I... I dunno 'ny more.
He stared at the menu, for the longest time before finally deciding to order a simple cup of espresso.>{Watch Lieutenant}< If ya just bel'eve, then... ev'n if th' world be torn asunder, vict'ry will be yers to hold!

The paladin was strolling down the street, having nothing to do. Although she should be watching Alihi, just to be sure the Tactician wouldn't be reckless, she had a feeling that today she didn't need to watch over her. After all, Alihi was in the castle with the crew inside to talk to. In addition, she was planning to meet Abel too. Hmm... Maybe she should get a cake for the young Hero. After all, it might cheer him up while being recovery.
"Come on, Tuomas. To the Hostess Club," Isadora told her horse and she made a left turn. After few minutes, she halted in front of the club. The paladin unsaddled herself and tied the reins to the nearest poll. For the second time, Isadora entered the shop to buy pastries.
Isadora went to the nearest stand and looked at the menu. She wondered which pastries would she buy. However, she didn't know what type of pastries would the Hero want. Maybe she could get the popular desserts. No needed to buy all.
The paladin closed the menu and looked for a waitresses. She would have the pastries to go. No bother staying around when she had duties to perform. As Isadora looked around to find a waitress, she spotted someone sitting alone.
"Leon?" Isadora called out as she headed toward his table. "Leon, it's nice to meet you. How are you?"

>{Leon}< Leon expected to be waiting for his drink he ordered, the strong stuff to keep him going in silence, so the Lady speaking to him took the Lieutenant by surprise. "Ah... m'lady... I'm..." he'd be lying if he said he was 'fine' so he went ahead and told the truth. "I'm kinda down, y'know. Not gonna say why, ya already know."
He sighed, blinking once as he remained respectful, his gaze upon Isadora's face. It wasn't like he was in the mood for his eyes to wander, and there was no way his field of vision would leave the face of someone he truly respected. "I di'n't know 'er person'ly, tha' girl, but I'm still kinda... dis'pointed I can't do much, an' I was order'd not t' pursue 'em either. By th' Her- Goddess Ashera, wha' are we here for?" Normally, he would have raised his voice, but the lack of sleep robbed the young man of his strength. What would have been a yell of defiance was now a slow climb from a whisper to a somehwhat normal tone of voice.>{Watch Lieutenant}< If ya just bel'eve, then... ev'n if th' world be torn asunder, vict'ry will be yers to hold!

The hostess café was getting busier and busier by the moment. More visitors wandered in to indulge in the free tasty cakes. Scattered tables were filling up quickly. After John had been served, Aruna moved on to another customer. “ Waitress? I'd like a slice of cheesecake... and hot herbal tea, please,” a young green-haired woman call out.
The reptilian waitress traveled to the kitchen once again. “Let’s see here... The cheesecake would be kept where?” She thought for a second. “Ah yes.” Opening the icebox, sure enough there was a chilled cheesecake. Aruna grabbed a conveniently placed plate and pie knife. She cut the delicious dessert then slid a piece onto the flat dish. Remembering that the nomad had then asked for tea, she went to the bar for the drink. The nagini poured a cup of hot herbal tea and slithered over Sue. “Please excuse the wait. Here is your cheesecake and tea.”Aruna placed the steaming drink and sweet dessert on the table. “If you need anything else, just yell.”
Moving away from this patron, she noticed two new people, both knights, siting at different tables relatively close to each other. “Welcome to the Hostess Café. Can I get you one of our scrumptious cakes? Or perhaps some refreshing tea,” Aruna asked first to Isadora.

"Down?" Isadora replied as she took a seat next to Leon. "And I know about this? To what do you mean?"
Before she could get her answer, a waitress had came and greeted them. It took Isadora a double take on the waitress. The waitress' lower half was a body of a snake? Never had she seen a race like that. But then again, she did run into other races such as dragons and laguz. Even meeting Ganon during the Guildaversary. Deciding not to be rude about the waitress' background, Isadora spoke.
"I'll have ten of your popular desserts, one of each, to go. I'm planning on delivering the pastries to an injured member of ours. But in the meantime, I think I'll have cinnamon rolls and mocha." Never had she heard these type of pastries before... But then again, this is a foreign country she was living now.
She waited for Leon to take his time to order. No need to rush them unless it was really urgent. When the waitress left to get their order, the paladin listened to Leon. She now knew what Leon was talking about. Last night, she had a crew meeting where Rath gave each crew an assignment. She remembered that Tibarn was order to inform the Watch not to interfere. Somehow, it seemed that it effected the Watch Lieutenant.
"You're here to protect Eyris, Leon. That is why you were given the chance to start a new life." Isadora answered. She knew that question was easy to answer. After all, why else were they here?
"I know it's frustrated to be held back while someone is in trouble. It's in our blood as knights to be chivalrous and protect those in need. However, you should know well why. You know fairly well that this is my guild's problem and not yours or the city of Eyris. I know it's our job to protect the people, but you should know that an individual being abducted is not big enough to be a city's problem.
"In addition, think about the other countries. You and the Watch are the Eyris' Watchman. Your job and my guild can easily attract the countries' attention. If the countries are to learn that both my guild and the Watch are to search one individual in one country, then they will think we are wasting our time. This is why my vice captain does not wish the Watch to interfere, it will attract other countries and may give a bad reputation of our country. Therefore, we have to keep it small as possible.
"And besides, remember that Tura incident? Sure, some of my members including myself got involved in that horrible case; however, not every member of my guild was involved in that case. I admitted that I didn't let them interfere with the case, but I thought the case was not a big issue to the guild. Unfortunately, I didn't expect to be a horrible incident. But other than that, I didn't involve my guild into this case because we don't need that many involving the case.
"Having both FEF guild and Watch onto small matters, whether they be important or not, will be a waste of a time. If we bother spend more time on small matters, who will handle the other problems of our fair country? Surely, we cannot postpone the country's problems over one problem. This is why one must work with one problem while the other deal with another. And if we ever need to work together, it will be when our country is in great danger. Do you understand, Leon? It's not that we don't want you to interfere with our problem. It's just that it will be inefficient if we have both forces focusing on one small problem. However, I'll let you know if my guild ever need of your assistance when the problem becomes too much to bear."

I ain't givin' in, no matter how hard th' fight before me looks t' be!
>{Leon}< Maybe Isadora was right, and surely enough, even Leon knew better than to go jumping into everyone's business. For example, he wouldn't go rushing to open someone's pickle jar, that was just ridiculous beyond reason. He was about to say something, anything when the Nagini waitress came to take orders. Looking around, he noticed how busy the place was. It looked like everyone needed a little comfort food... or drink.
"I order'd an espresso earli'r." He said to Aruna. "Heh, musta not been loud 'nough. Di'n't sleep at all las' night..."
Before trailing off and holding up the waitress from her job, Leon again turned to face his fellow knight, Isadora. "Oy, y'know when I asked why we was here, I dun' mean all o' us. I meant me an' m' comrades. There be horr'ble rumors goin' 'round tha' we o' th' Watch are curs'd or somethin', ya know... tha' we're always... 'destined' t' have a bad rep 'mongst th' city we love." He waved his finger, ever slightly. "I ain't so far gone t' go an' question m' own existence though, if tha's what yer thinkin', Milady. Jus' maybe th' curse might be true. Dunno if we're on some kinda hitlist as far as bad luck, but... we of th' Watch ain't doin' so well." He grumbled a curse, aimed mainly at the existence of dark magic.>{Watch Lieutenant}< If ya just bel'eve, then... ev'n if th' world be torn asunder, vict'ry will be yers to hold! I shall now demonstrate the Law of Sacae… Tribesmen fighting with all they have for the sake of one another! ~)Sue(~ While she was lost in thought, Sue heard Aruna (slithering?) up to her to confirm the nomad's order. When the tea and cheesecake was brought, it was as if she forgot about everything else while she indulged in them. The tea and cake were both divine. It was absolutely perfect to lighten the mood in such a dreadful occasion. Besides, like the elders said, the winds of the future always blow you forward... ever forward. There was no looking back.
However, there was looking around, for Sue at least. With better awareness already from the herbal tea, she wanted to find some familiar faces. Food was good, yes, but food amongst one's peers was always more satisfying.

"Well, to be honest, I don't know what's this curse about." Isadora said. "However, if you ask me, I won't let a silly rumor stopping me from protecting the city or the country I love, whether we have the good or bad reputation.
"In fact, I have heard quiet rumors going around about my guild being the curse to Learania, ever since last Halloween began. All these nonsense saying about whenever we throw a celebration, danger and horrible things fell upon them. I don't blame them as to what had happened, but we have no control of the dark force fallen upon them. In fact, my guild had been exiled for nearly a month during the Guildaversary thanked to that horrible Dark God, Loki. And Tura; he had nearly had us about us being the villains to our fair country.
"But does that stop us from protecting those we care? Do we stop celebrating the events with everyone due to the silly rumors and so-called curses? No. We continue our job because we care. We stand firm to our ground and fight for what's right. Even if we are unable to help or protect, it doesn't stop us no matter what. So tell me, are you going to let this curse get you? Because it seems that this silly curse is affecting you more than what Tura did to you."

There was a peculiar aura in the air.
Loch hadn't attended the party the night before. It wasn't that he was antisocial or that he hated people, he just wasn't much of a party person. He would much rather find himself a decent book to read and stay in. So that's what he'd ended up doing the night before. There was actually a rather interesting book on the art of teleportation he'd found crammed into a messy bookshelf. He'd been clearing the bookshelf off in an attempt to beautify his study, but routinely found himself distracted by the latest book to gather his interest. Upon finding The Art of Magical Teleportation, Vol. II, he'd decided that this night was not for cleaning, but reading. And so he settled into a stuffed beanbag chair and lost himself in the book. He imagined it'd have made a little more sense if he'd started with Vol. I, but finding that book was an activity he would save for the weekend.
Back in the present tense, though, Loch wandered towards the new Hostess Club in hopes of learning the recent news. Loch had heard the tragedy of the little girl Amara's kidnapping, and he felt sorrow for it. He almost regretted not attending the ball, but he also understood that Learania's top government officials had been there, and if they couldn't have stopped what happened from happening then a lone Heron wouldn't have made much more of a difference.
The Hostess Club was just ahead. It was open much earlier than usual, and was offering some free cakes likely to raise dismal spirits on this day. He entered, shutting the door with a quiet jingle of the bells hung upon it. Business was rather good this morning, it seemed, with a fair number of people situated inside, partaking in the cakes and drinks and snacks this place had to offer. From Leon, the Watch member, to Isadora, the official she was, and...Loch's eyes passed conveniently over the raven sitting there...well, there were actually quite a few people in here Loch didn't know.
Loch looked to the bar, which was mysteriously empty. Pity; the raven who typically worked there made the best expressos. Vika, was her name? Well, no matter. He spotted Hatmon over there, and he made his way over to greet her. He was in here occasionally; sometimes for the cakes, mostly for the coffee. Their coffee was so much better than the Eyris Bistro's. Loch suspected that the Bistro's coffee machine was broken, because it was usually watery coffee with grounds still in the drink. That was hardly a fine coffee. But Vika knew how to make one delectable coffee. Well, this tirade aside, Loch was somewhat familiar with the waitresses of this establishment, so he greeted Hatmon warmly when he approached her.
"Good morning, Hatmon. How are you today?"(Hat, any other Hostess Club employees who wish to play along, act like you know Loch already. ;p)

I ain't givin' in, no matter how hard th' fight before me looks t' be!
>{Leon}< Leon shuddered twice at the mention of Tura's name. Did that incident have to be brought up? That wasn't a very pleasant experience, not in the least. But still, at least then, he was allowed to do something. He was allowed to act on the case on his own, and do the best job he could with limited numbers and the rarity of civilian help. But now, his face turned sour, back into the scowl that was commonly worn on his face as he spoke his thoughts with irritation. "Bein' tol' t' stay back an' not do what ya do best... ya know what tha' feels like, Milady?"
He paused, but noticed that the Paladin wasn't trying to guess. The question was for him to answer anyhow. "It makes me feel like I'm just a re'cruit, an' them bigwigs up there are tryin' to make sure I dun go on th' missions th' adults get fame an' glory for. Sure right now, it seems like we're just bein' told t' get our noses outta other people's concerns, but this's a small step t' 'em not lettin' us get deployed for Eyris's sake at all."
Again, had he been fully rested (sleep seemed like a luxury lately), he would have shouted the words and caused a ruckus, maybe even a riot if others of the Watch felt the same. How ironic.
But his tone wasn't raised enough, and he hadn't the audacity for that sort of thing, ever.>{Watch Lieutenant}< If ya just bel'eve, then... ev'n if th' world be torn asunder, vict'ry will be yers to hold!
