Melan was a bit surprised when Pepper stepped in front of him in a protective manner. He gave a grinned and then watched the demon as it came rushing forward toward the two of them and for the moment Melan seemed to be doing... nothing, waiting, watching, until he could almost feel Torekane's breath on him before he grabbed hold of one of Pepper's bone structures, "Time to go." He said, jumping backwards through the portal landing with him on the other side.

The other side seemed so peaceful, quiet, one could even hear a bird chirping its song... and then the peace was shattered as Torekane lunged forth from the gate as well, getting stuck for a moment between the trees before he set to flailing, the was a creaking sound from the massive things before they cracked and fell to either side of, loosing the demon as well as destroying the gate to that other dimension.

"That's a shame." Melan said, tilting his head to the side before he jumped up to poke Torekane in the nose, "Tag!" He said before turning to run.

"I will eatsss you!" Torekane hissed out, temper flaring as the kid seemed to be screwing with him and it made him want to eat that one even more...

The blue haired kid seemed to be far to amused for his own good as he raced off with Torekane in hot pursuit. It wasn't something that would be easy to notice aside from Pepper who lived there, that they were rushing toward the Labs.

Cody blinked as Melan, Pepper, and Torekane ran by. It was definitely a strange sight to behold, that was for sure. "What? Go... Go AFTER them? Are you-never mind, lets go," the spawn muttered, reluctantly giving in as Edes tugged on him, trying to get the child to follow the others.

All this running was exhausting, yet he hadn't quite mastered flying yet, so flying and anything to do with it was out of the question. Not to mention Edes had grown and he couldn't possibly carry him all the way to the labs. That's where it looked like they were going, anyways.

"Alright, come on; I think I know where they're going," Cody added, taking a gentle hold on his friend's arm and heading in the same direction Melan, Pepper, and Torenkane had gone.

Melan giggled, "Hell indeed." He murmured, then looked over at Pepper, to Torekane, then to Edes and Cody who were, much to the surprise of the blue haired boy, following along. He couldn't help but to grin that much more, "That is a new playmate for a friend of mine." He explained. Mind you that the one he was bringing Torekane to had probably never played in his life, wasn't technically aware of being Melan's friend, and who knew what he would do when the demon was brought 'home' with the foursome of spawn.

The look on his face was bound to be priceless! He grinned happily as he dashed along toward his goal, glad that Torekane seemed to shuffle along after them, he was fast, scary fast when he was in the water. But when he was out of his element, when he started to dry out he started to slow up. The upside to knowing what he was looking for and who he was looking for was also knowing their weaknesses. He looked at Pepper for a moment then started to move a little quicker when he saw the wall that surrounded the Labs.

"Last time I promise." He said to Pepper as he caught hold of him and there was that sound again of fluttering wings as the two of them were lifted up to land on the top of the wall and Melan released Pepper and just seemed to be waiting as Torekane charged toward them, toward the wall, hissing as he went.

Cody paused just out of harm's way, quickly making sure Edes wouldn't rush ahead or anything. "See? They're ok. I told you they would be," he replied softly, smiling down at his friend. So, why did Melan bring Torekane to the labs? What could anyone want with him and why? It made no sense, really.

"Something wrong?" he asked, pulling Edes a little closer as he whispered something. Melan and Pepper somehow managed to get themselves on top of the lab walls, waiting as the lake guardian charged. If they were waiting for someone, he hoped they would arrive soon before Pepper became fish food.

Melan turned to look at Pepper before giving him a smile and an almost gentle pat on the head, "Its alright, Pepper." He murmured, turning to look at Torekane, "After all, that guy right there will be welcome with open arms at the Labs, since Vampy can't seem to keep his pets alive and his foolish human workers can't help in the finding of such a creature."

All he'd seen them do was sit around for days on end reading old texts, starring at them like monkeys attempting to do math, and couldn't seem to do much more. It was... pathetic really. The only reason he hung out around this place as much as he did was for the children he found here, they were... interesting, fun. He wanted to make more friends his age and if it meant every now and again that he had to 'lend a hand' he was more the happy to.

Torekane lunged then at Melan with a hissing sound and the blue haired boy allowed himself to fall backwards off the wall to avoid the snapping jaws. He landed in the grass on the other side, as did Torekane... and before the massive lake guardian could even think to devour Melan one of the guard dogs was rushing toward them. Apparently Vampy was being more careful since what happened with Hyacinth, Shar, and Ker the blue hair boy thought to himself... then lifted a hand to smother laughter as the hellhound went from Lab Guardian to crunchy snack the instant it got into the range of Torekane's mouth.

Melan continued to giggle as the creature was gulped up and one of its patrolling partners was suddenly being chased down, "Torekane must like spicy food!" Melan called up to Pepper, something Edes and Cody might here depending on how close they had gotten to the wall. It would seem as though he wasn't worried at all, regardless of the fact that he was in Vampy's territory now.

Needless to say, Cody took the entire incident without much of a thought as he was too preoccupied with keeping Edes safe and happy. Then, when Edes yelped and fell, his worry intensified far beyond his worry for his life. "Edes! You ok?," he muttered, holding his friend up so he wouldn't wobble so much.

"Edes? Hello?" he asked softly, wondering if the child was even paying him any attention. He seemed to be focusing on the group ahead that were slowly moving closer and closer to the labs. If he didn't know any better, he would have guessed Melan was giving the techs another thing to mess with...

Melan turned when he heard someone approaching and wasn't in any way, shape, or form surprised at how quickly Vampy had appeared. He gave a happy sound as he turned to face him, giving him a happy smile, "Hello there Vampy, long time no see." While he had been visiting from time to time out of curiosity of what the Labs were up to he hadn't bothered to try to cross paths with Vampy, after all the pair of them didn't exactly get along very well... he blamed the fact that Vampy was to old and to grouchy for his own good. He really needed to lighten up.

"I brought someone to meet you!" He chirped, motioning with one hand toward the Lake Guardian as though perhaps Vampy hadn't noticed him standing there munching on hell hound meat, "Your human workers would never have found him if it were left up to them." In fact he doubted that they would be able to find their own face in the dark.

"Lets hope you don't blow this one up, hes a very, very rare breed and likely the only one of his kind given where he lived." Melan was sure that the Lake Guardian as quite old as well, not that one could tell to easily given he was still as lively as a young demon.

Torekane finished up the meal at hand, someone that he felt was a bit to small for his liking before his attention turned slowly to looking at Vampy, dismissed him, looked at Melan and hissed, and finally looked at Pepper. It seemed as though he were debating which of the three he wanted to eat next.
