Reinna Astarel What kinds of crimes makes someone no longer eligible to live? Does the government have the power to decide that? Interesting, I'd never thought about it in those terms before. Actually...it's mroe expensive to ptu someone on death row than it is to just have them serve a life sentence. On death row people are more likely to fight the sentence, even if it is just to get it changed to life inprisonment. This can be fought for years and year, even decades; wasting a lot of money and court time. However, if you were simply going to execute them as soon as the trial had ended it would be pretty damn cheap. But then there have been so many cases of people being found innocent not just after being put in jail but after their deaths. A few people I know would abolish the death sentence except for in cases that were absolutely certain, no doubt whatsoever. And then only if the person was in no way able to be rehabilitated.

Besides the president who I don't like for a few reasons, none of those are real issues for me.
President-The war is mostly for oil and not only many people are dying but it's wasting our money. If they want to fight terriost then why in Iraq and not Afganastain (sp?)? Wasn't that where they are? Iraqs are fighting back cause well, we're killing their people and destorying their land. Bin Ladin admit that he didn't do it though he said he was glad that 9/11 happen (he isn't in Iraq aways). I don't trust Bush. All the war did was waste money, have many people die and made other countries hate us.
Gay rights-I have no problems with gays, lesibiens or bi's. their people too and desevre to be treated like everyone else, as long they don't push it on others then i'm fine. I think people make a bigger deal out of it then it is.
Sex before marriage-I don't care about people's sex life, if they want to jump in before their prepared then that's kind of their fault and problem if something happens
death pently-I believe if proven guilty then they should get the death pently (prisons are over crowned and if their murders then they shouldn't be let out, besides it's more humain then the people they kill. Now most just inject them with shots). I'm only against unjust killing, meaning killing someone when life is not indanger, kill the innocent, kill animals for sport or fur just for fashion, not for food or survival (some places you need fur to keep warm, but just for fashion is wrong, that's what fake fur is for, most people don't eat animals with fur like rabbits so just for that is wrong unless needed. As for leather, well they kill the cow for food so they might as well use the rest of it and not let it go to waste so I have no problem with it.).
Gun control- I have mix feels about that, we need ways to pretect ourselfs if nessecary but they offten get in the wrong hands. Though if they take away guns cause of gangs, they'll find ways to get some illegally (some already do), plus they can always find other weapons to use. That won't stop them, well all of them anyways. I don't need guns to protect myself. I plan to take martial arts and self-denfese classes (well mainly Iaido which is a sword class).
Well this is my opinons on everything. I'm told i'm too opinonaided but aleast I have some and think for myself.

Pandali ...Death penalty - Completely and utterly wrong. First of all, it costs more money for the death penalty. Second of all, I believe it is more painful for someone to sit in a jail cell all their life and let their consience get to them than to die. Some things are worse than death. Wooh. Pandali and I disagree. eek Gay rights - homosexuals deserve the same governmental rights as any of us--free speech, the vote, run for office--but the line goes there. Gay marriage is a perversity, not only theologically but biologically. President Bush - I haven't done a whole lot of research into the man's stands. I support him because he is prolife; Kerry was prochoice. Granted, he's not the best public speaker (*stifles a laugh*). Sex before marriage - no way. I am 110% against it. Even if the couple is the most devoted couple ever (in which case they should just get married!), sex belongs in the institution of holy matrimony. End of story. Death penalty - here's where me and Pandali disagree! EEP! Again, I haven't done a lot of research into this (the abortion issue's been eating my life lately), but as far as I can see, I am for it. The execution of guilty adults is very different from the baseless killing of innocent babies.

Gay Rights- All for 'em legally. I don't think churches should be forced to accept gay marriages, because that'd violate separation of church and state, but legally I don't see the problem.
President Bush- Lesser of two evils. Kerry scared me. The simple fact that he lost to George Bush is scary.
Sex before Marriage- Eh, not for me, but why should I care about it as long as it isn't hurting anyone? Obviously if it's young kids, like, 10, I'm disturbed (my ten year old neighbor offered my other ten year old neighbor a bj. Disturbing)
Death penalty- As necessary as abortion is, in my opinion. If a human being is a danger to others, and I mean a real danger, not a, "Well, this person MIGHT cause problems..." and there is no way to save both lives, then it comes down to one life or another, or in this case, one life or several lives. Death doesn't seem like good retribution to me. If I wanted retribution, I'd strip freedom from a person, but not his or her life. Death leaves no chance for rehabilitation. While it does serve as a warning to people to not kill, so does a good episode of CSI displaying a nice prison with gangs and death and all of that jazz.
Gun Control- I live right around D.C. It scares me that if someone who has no qualms about breaking the law enough to rape me or kill me knows that I can't possibly have a gun on me if I'm following the law. If someone's going to break a law enough to commit murder or rape, why should something like a gun possession law stop them? I think there should obviously be some limits, but not completely outlawing a concealed weapon.
Affirmative action- Personally? I don't like it. If the point is supposed to be diversity, then go with diversity. Different skin color =/= diversity. Pick people from different areas, different cultures, different lives, not people with different skin colors. Your heritage says NOTHING about how you live. It just says, "Hey, this person's black! Not only will this look good to people, our basketball team will rock!" "This one's asian, we need higher test scores!" "We need some of those blond, blue-eyed white kids, they're stable." It's just racism in a different way.
Social security- While I don't think it's necessary anymore...I'd hate to find out, "Hey, guess what, all that money you put in? You're not getting that back in ANY form!"
