He replied, before standing, looking to each of the family members.

"Thank you for your help." The father said, seeing Rook out.
He turned back to see Samuel finish off the last glass of water in the house, wiping his mouth dry.
"Why didn't you tell us about the car thing?"
Samuel frowned, shrugging as he set the dry glass to the side, frowning deeper as he saw there was no more water nearby. He was thirsty.
"I was worried about it, but I just reasoned it swerved, but after the thing tonight.. I think it might have been something more." He stood up. "Dad, I think I should leave. All the cops are writing it off as a break in gone sour, and that FBI pig seemed off." He made one last check for water, sighing at the noticeable lack of any in the household.
"Dad, I'm leaving. I can't risk you guys getting hurt. Mom's in the hospital, and if they come back..."

*sigh* Roxy at this time was paying attention to Kat and Rook as they made out in Jarred's SUV...all right, not really, but she wasn't paying any attention to Sam and his family, particularly since it was very clear that there was no water in the room to help her pay attention with.

Das Steube Ruby St.Claire As he left Kat let out another mental sigh, Kat was waiting for him when he got there. Though she'd chewed up the last piece of Jarred's gum. "Well, agent Mulder, we still have some money from the night's freaky meat-costume raid. I suggest we pick up some clothes for ourselves and Roxy. Then maybe look into high school. Seems a lot of people are coming from High School."

Rook nodded to her, climbing into the SUV.
"Sounds like a good idea. Maybe something to change your hair color, at least make you look a little different'll be helpful.

((I wanted to wait for your reply to my 'no water' post because I wanted to grin widely at it all biggrin ))
The father and Samuel argued, something akin to "It's safer!" meets "You're a stupid ******** kid!", but Samuel ended up winning because I say so, though the dad's argument there seems rather solid.
He waited till the cops were gone, got in his car, and left with the basics packed, not knowing where he'd go.

"Change my hair color? That would be blasphemous" Kat gave him a shocked look, though it was followed with a half smile, "All right, all right... what color do you think I should go with? Classic blond?" She started the SUV and moved out of the neighborhood, heading down the street to a freaky clothing store that for some reason decided to be open at fiveish in the morning.

Rook looked her over, furrowing a brow, before changing back to his "normal" form, tilting his head so as to see her from a few different light angles. "Hrmn. I'm actually thinking more of a strawberry blonde. Blondeish red, maybe?"

Kat shrugged her shoulders, "I suppose that would fit me well enough. At least I'd still fall into the redhead category."
Kat let out a long sigh as she looked through the clothes, but quickly picked out some different outfits for herself and Roxy, she also grabbed a package of strawberry blond dye for her hair. Once everything was picked up, they continued on their way to Jarred's house, presumedly to tell him and Roxy everything that happened and to start planning out a plan of attack from there.

"Kinda like the whole redhead thing. It's a damn shame to cover it up with blonde." Rook replied. He followed her, commenting where asked, but in general, keeping quiet and an eye out around them.

Kat chuckled, "Damn shame indeed." She set the bags of clothes and other necessities in the back seat of the SUV before climbing back to the driver's seat. "We should get back, and get to work forging a few documents to make school transfer a little easier. Hopefully this Jarred-guy (as she'd become prone to calling him) has a decent computer and net access." She took off driving after Rook had buckled his seatbelt, and then continued to the other thread where jarred and Roxanna lived. ((Return to Jarred and Roxy here))
