"Okay, so I can see that he's like really powerful," Cassandra muttered to herself. Her rifle was useless. She waited to see what would happen or to receive orders. There was no way she could engage this guy, in his element or outside of it.

"Magic!" Sai yelled. "His contact disintegration works against any physical thing that touches his skin, but he can't block magic!"

As he spoke, an arrow (of light) from Camille's bow (of light) shot between Subject 213's legs. While 213 froze to avoid the shot, a ripple appeared around Anton's hands as he created a wind-whip (an extremely difficult air-elemental attack that used high-speed winds to flay the skin from an enemy) to tear open a small gash on 213's left calf, almost as if it was to demonstrate their enemy's vulnerability.

"Are you <******** kidding you have got to be ******** kidding," Cassandra hissed, moving forward. Her elementalism was a bare-bones defense; she knew it. Before they got sent on another mission, she was going to learn to use it more like a decent mage could. Rifleman was obviously not sufficient as a job description.

"Please do not leave me alone in this please do not leave me alone God help me," she hissed under her breath, priming an evoked fireball for usage at close enough range to make it worth using the mana.

Literally swallowing his fear - it tasted suspiciously cowardly - after a few seconds' debate, Isaac stepped a bit in front of Cassandra and said, "H-h-h-how is h-he on s-silver? Or c-c-cobalt? I h-have th-those and m-my REF."

He sincerely wished that no one absolutely no one heard him or would ask him to use them.

Tanto, in the meantime, thudded into line with the others, his hand hefting the huge claymore like a kitchen knife.

"Nothing physical," Camille ordered. They realized a moment later that her arm wasn't in her light armor - it was entirely gone, a clean cut at the shoulder being sealed by her light-armor, with the arm itself being merely a force projection.

Isaac could have died happy with that knowledge. That meant that his REF was his only contribution at that point, so he could hang back and maybe avoid tripping up his allies.

Tanto fired another bolt of Chaos. Grass clippings grass clippings clipped grass go!

Ty hung back, disappointed that he could be of no use, here. And then, he had an idea. His gaze flicked back and forth between the discarded tripod crafts and the enemy. "Hey," he whispered to Isaac. "Hey. Hey, you think those... nah, no way... Well I mean, maybe they could- hey, Isaac. You wanna see if we can get one of those things working? The guns?" That would be cool.

But what if it blew up again? Maybe the healer-demon... "We'll need help," he informed Isaac. He dragged the Clockie with him over to Yarah. "Hey! Hey, tall dude with the 'fro! Yarah?" he whispered, always keeping an eye on the combat. "What are the chances you could help us get one of those tripod gun things working again?" He nodded at the debris from the earlier battle.

Yarah turned to Ty with a raised brow. "I do not know much about tripod guns, I am sad to say," though he didn't really look the part, "but I will help you as much as I can." At the very least, he'd be able to heal the two if the craft blew up.

He followed the two to the tripod crafts and surveyed the damaged machines. The three looked for the gun amongst the debris. It did not take long for them to find a semi-decent tripod gun. "I have a rudimentary grasp these things from a thankful patient of mine," he said as he examined the messed up gun. "However, I am no expert. Are either of you knowledgeable in this area?"

Isaac recited a textbook definition of one of the rare reports on captured tetrapod weaponry.

"It's a Type B bolt cannon - pure energy, a mix of kinetics, heat, and light. It's integrated into the main battery, at the core of the pod, and can use any of the tetrapod's, er, pods, as a barrel."

He flushed as they looked at him after he spoke. "That is, err, we'll have to get one of these tetrapods up and running to make good use of the c-cannon."

He looked around at the area they had just fought in. "My knowledge of th-these is limited, but I'll see what I can d-do."

He continued to throw nervous glances at the fight nearby.

"Well, in that case, Isaac for the awesome knowledge win. Yarah, do you think you could power this thing up? My aim sucks, so I'm gonna keep my hands off." Ty searched the ground for not-quite-dead Raiders that might cause his plan to backfire. He had had enough experience with these things exploding already. "Might not hit 'im, but it might distract 'im long enough for one of the better guys to pull something off." He flashed a smile at the other two. "Hopefully he won't kill us before they kill him."

Isaac's nervous gaze flicked back and forth as he worked quickly - albeit jerkily - on the tetrapod. He had an idea as he was working.

"Y-Yarah, can you fin-finish this? I have an idea I want to try."

If he received an affirmative, his destination was the thaumatank lying nearby. A singularity cannon might also do the trick.

Yarah studied the the cannon and worked at it diligently. When Isaac timidly asked to try something, Yarah stared at the boy (he seemed rather young - and gutless). "...do as you please." He continued to work at his current job while Isaac left. Hm. Almost done, I think. The cannon wasn't in very bad shape, so there wasn't much that needed to be done on it.

He looked around to see where the other males had gone. Isaac seemed to be heading towards a thaumatank. Ty was off looking around - for what, Yarah wasn't sure. Maybe Raiders. They are rather sturdy beings.

Yarah nodded. Isaac made his way to the crashed thaumatank - only its hoverpods were damaged. A little mechanical know-how (something which was not in short supply for Isaac) allowed him to reroute power from the weapons to the other pods, rotating it to bring it to bear at Subject 213. About then, the hoverpods burnt out.

Then, Isaac fired the dual singularity cannon at Subject 213.

A white hole behind the projectile and a black hole in front of it, the slab of silver-cored tungsten accelerated to relativistic speeds in an infinitesimally small period of time. The crashing of the tank threw the shot off; rather than hitting 213's torso, it clipped his arm, tearing it off just above the shoulder. Everything up to about his fingers was nowhere to be seen. Clearly, he wasn't prepared to deal with this sort of attack.

Bright violet lights flared within 213's eyes. A mix of what appeared to be wires and tendons were exposed where his arm had been torn off, and purplish, mana-dense smoke was pouring from it.

"Error, error, error," he muttered. "Subject 213's damage has exceeded acceptable mission parameters. Aborting mission, returning for repairs and adjustments." He spun on his heel and began to walk away to no apparent destination.

Tanto, bitter as he was ancient, threw a bolt of Chaos after the...robot?

Isaac made his way, coughing, out of the tank, and sank to the ground with a sigh. He appeared unaware that he had like, saved their bacon.
