Kaede's eyes pierced the drunken student with a look that could kill. She spoke out the fatal words quickly, confidently, and threatfully. "You. Detention. Tonight. Another mistake and you're expelled." She hated when she had to do this on the first day of school already, but what she really couldn't take was students who didn't take education seriously. And most of all, she hated drunken people.

Ren shunpoed out of her office and stopped in front of the entrance to the Great Hall. She inhaled deeply, exhaled and started walking. The sound of her heels boomed through the enormous room, making her arrival fairly obvious to everyone. Looking at the students around her and her beloved staff, she stepped behind the podium and waited a few seconds for everyone to calm down.
“My dear students, I am proudly standing here before you, my eyes resting on your young faces, full of excitement and anticipation. Let me introduce myself: I am Ren Shitsu, headmistress of this marvelous school. The seeds this year seem excellent, however not all seeds with good predispositions grow successfully. It takes time, care and love for them to blossom in the end. And that is the reason for us being here.” She softly gestured toward the teachers and staff sitting behind her, turned back to the students and took the dark crimson rose from behind her ear.
“We will nourish you with knowledge, water you with care and tend you, no matter if you’re a seed of the proud tiger lily, noble magnolia, innocent daisy or oblivious poppy. At the end of your education you will all bloom together in our garden known as the Soul Society.”
She tucked the rose behind her right ear again.
“But enough with the botany lesson. I am sure you are all eager to find out which house you were put in, who your roommate will be, what lessons you will be taking and so on. So to start things off, I will call up the names of the residents of the two dorm houses. Those named now, please stand up and form a line on my right.
Ryan Stephen Feldric, James Zachary Garath, Hanuba Hunbaba, Nadine Kajikura, Kuro Kihaku, Hayashi Kukiko, Huang Motou, Zakuro Saotome, Yomiko Shihouin, Sayuri Atsuko Takahashi, Tsubame Takanashi, Trace Takuza, Ryou Tenjou, Aloe Tsuwamono and Morino Yukiko.«
Warmly smiling at the students who stood up, she continued.
“And now for the other dorm. Please form a line on my left.
Zek Bluestrike, Keiteki Eki, Lilyth Ioma, Itazuki, Akira Kenichi, Ryoma Kiyame, Iu Hana Kuchiki, Hideki Otagami, Axel Ryuukai, Renkishi Sanabi, Shiiba Shihouin, Kasen Tsuin, Zaine Tsukioma, Reno Weller, Yami Yoshihigami Yohiko and Yuu.«
She paused a few seconds.
“That should be it. The group on my right is now known as Dango. The Head of the house is my dear deputy headmistress Kaede Yui. On my left we have the group now to be known as Senbei. Your Head will be the lovely Miss Alcina Celdwin. I will leave you in their care for now, if you have any questions, remarks or complaints, please feel free to visit me in my office any time.”
That being said, she smiled brightly at the new generation one last time and sat on the chair reserved for her, making room for the Dorm Heads.

"Kah-uough..~" The young student yawned out the notes as her mouth soon closed itself in it's ending. It may not be the best for first's impression, especially at her first year in where is considered a prestigious academy. However, it couldn't be helped like many others. It was to her distant theory that Shinigami themselves originated from humans, thus resulting with humane instincts and traits. Proof as to why it couldn't be helped was official anyways. To her prior knowledge, she wasn't the one to rise at any given time unless content in felt. Buuut, like always, she could be proven wrong. Like now, her timing of un-voluntary action had caused to her stiffen in surprise with the Head Mistress's booming voice. Not that the tone of a mature woman would easily startle her, but the calmness of the volume that was allowed. The teachers, all were different. Some handsome, beautiful, extraordinary old or too young in appearance, or were just strange in a sense of childish judgment. The students were just the same in that sort of categorizing by appearance. As foolish as it did sound, Ren would solemnly admit. Quite amazing how some of the assumable upper class men would appear so much like..grown up adults. How much Ren had prayed, for the teachers and guardians to have tolerance. Her fellow classmates as well. Reasons go unsaid, for she is an honest slacker. But one who can be easily disdained without a legitimate foe. Hopefully their selection in punishments wouldn't be too severe. Oh mercy... After shuffling the back of her loose, blonde hair, she stuffed both hands into the depths of her coat pockets. Long enough to flow below her waist, hopefully her sporty jacket wouldn't violate dress codes.
Asides from her ears still ringing from the clear 'enough' information relayed, her half bunken eyes flickered to which ever vacant mat before sticking a pinkie in her right ear. Drilling it in a bit before pull it back out, flicking indiscriminate matter to whichever way that hadn't a person occupied. By all means, Ren wouldn't attempt an early detention like some unfortunate fellow she passed by, but it was something of her character that couldn't be helped. As her name was called in the following announcements, it was fit for her to stand before moving on to the assigned groups. Roommates.. Friends.. Houses.. How much that had already mattered to her, but all became so little of importance when she had a visual of a certain furniture. One that symbolizes bliss to the fullest extent. One sheep...two sheep....threeeee sheeep...... Evidently, her mind began to wander, much less her eyes started to sink down into conscious slumber.

He noticed the arrival of the headmistress through the sound of her heels, and felt the last bit of excitement surge quietly throughout the room. This was going to be the time! The speech that would officially recognize all of the people sitting in this room as students of academy. A small closed-lip smile of excitement crept over James's face as he sat listening intently to the headmaster begin her speech.
So am I proud, noble, innocent, or oblivious? Or am I some other emotionally linked flower? James thought idly to himself as the headmistress was completing her simple but accurate analogy. Noble sounded like a good description of the future self that he had be picturing in his mind, but he wouldn't mind being strong or sturdy, or even gentle and caring.
In a way James was glad that the headmistress called the students up to stand in their house divisions, because as he stood, he realized that sitting on the mats like that had made his muscles slightly stiff. After his name was called, he moved to the designated position on the right side of the headmaster and waited to see who would also be in that same house, and even wondered what meaning was behind the house.
Dango... he echoed in his mind as he looked around a little to see who would be with him in the house. This is going to be a trial worth remembering, he thought with that same small smile.

"Hey Caeles what did you think of that speech?" Solstice asked him while he performed his bizzare, no insane way of getting rid of an itch. Solstice had just come to expect this from Caeles by about now so it wasn't much of a problem anymore.
Solstice was still hanging upsidedown, perhaps she had forgotten that she was actually hanging upsidedown but it appeared to not be so as she grabbed ahold of the floor and her chair and dragged herself out of a portal before performing quite a nice show of acrobatics into her chair by flipping herself over twice then landing in it legs crossed.
She opened another portal and a hand rose up holding a small alarm clock.
"Ah so that's what time it is." she said as the hand sank down again into the portal but the portal remained open. Maybe she was going to check the time again at a later date.

Kaede nodded to the students when she was named by the Headmaster. Her gaze ran over the students assigned to her house, and with distaste she found out that the drunken student she punished earlier was also one of them. However, she seemed mostly pleased with what she got to nurture this year - she had seen their applications in any case, and she knew well enough that every single one of the students in the hall was capable of achieving greatness one day. When the headmaster finished her speech, she stood up and clapped, and hoped that at least the students of her house will follow her example. Then, she walked down the podium towards the students assigned to her dorm, in order to introduce herself and lead them towards their house common rooms and dorms.

The entire time Tsubame remained in the Great Hall, she’d nervously spun the tiny needle in her grasp and paid little attention to her surrounds. Barely even reacting when Ryan sat next to her, even though a moment before she’d been wondering where exactly he’d gone off to. The only thing that broke Tsubame out of her introverted state was the arrival of the head mistress, her echoing footsteps causing the gathering of students to calm and quite. Lifting her head, Tsubame’s mottled eyes looked on in minute wonder at the assembled staff as her fingers stilled. Just as with any high authority, Tsubame sat straight and listened thoughtfully as Ren introduced herself, and began her speech.
Flowers, how empirically poetic… Tsubame thought absently while soaking in the greater content of what was being relayed, lightly smiling as Ren came to the portion about dorm assignments. Although she was well versed in the meeting and greeting of new people, she desperately hoped that she would be placed in a dorm with at least one of the few other students she’d had the pleasure to meet. Tsubame’s prayers were answered in that moment, noting that before her name was called, Ryan’s had been announced. Beaming, she turned her head to nod towards him, her hair bobbing happily as she returned her attention back to the head mistress. Now she knew she’d have someone she could connect with right away, forge a friendship if possible and that was enough for her.
The moment Ren concluded her speech, Tsubame stood quickly with the pop of her knees protesting how long she’d sat in seiza. Wobbling only slightly until her legs adjusted, “Let’s go, let’s go.” She whispered, waving Ryan to follow her as she hustled to the right of the main podium to join the line of Dango bound students. Looking down the line in curiosity, she noted one other acquaintance, Ryou Tenjo, but remained stationary. Showing too much enthusiasm was not proper, at least not for the court trained, so although Tsubame was bristling with energy she tied it down and focused. A good thing too, the dorm head was traveling down the line and as she passed before her, Tsubame gave a warm smile and bowed low while standing. First impressions were tantamount to a healthy understanding between one another, and Tsubame would not risk making herself seem rude or uncouth.

Ryan hadn't noticed much until the exclamation by the drunk student, and that had caused his face to fall into his hand. <******** first DAY and he can't get a goddamn hold of himself. Who the ******** does he think he is - Josef Stalin?
Rising from his seat and joining in the applause for a moment as the headmistress concluded her speech (which all seemed the same to Ryan, who had heard many inspirational words spoken over the course of his life and would have preferred something more akin to Winston Churchill), Ryan found that the ceremony was missing something. Looking over at Tsubame for a moment as they walked towards their assigned line, Ryan stood next to her, remarking: "I guess there's no singing of the national anthem or anything..."
(( Short note - Iu isn't going to be here, he's taken a short leave of absence from RPing. ))

Lilyth listened intently to the speach, it almost reminded her of the pep assemblies they used to have in high school so many years ago. As they were being assigned to their houses she looked around at all of the people who had been assigned to the same house as her. When she saw the girl that she had nearly fought with earlier a slight smirk crossed her face, it would be interesting to be put in the same room as her or anyone else for that matter. She didn't really care who she was paired with, anyone would do she would probably befriend them or kick the crap out of them either way she would be entertained. Then she looked even harder and noticed that most of the people now in the same house were male and began to wonder how that was going to work. She shrugged and sighed waiting to be assigned a roommate and to get to her room and see it, she was excited and impatient to begin this new adventure. Maybe she would finally find someone who could match her strength, or maybe even beat her.

Aloe startled when she heard the headmistress began delivering her speech, and promptly turned around to listen intently. She went rather red in the face as she felt like she stuck out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the students, since instead of sitting she was standing and getting herself involved in an arguement.
As the headmistress gave the speech, Aloe's mind returned to the wonder of what she was about to get into. Such an inspiring speech made her even more glad she chose to join the academy, and even more eager to begin learning.
As the names of who was to line up for which dorm were called out, Aloe kept a keen ear out for her name. When she heard that she was to be in the Dango dorm, she wasn't quite sure how to react. She was glad to know which dorm she was in, but at the same time nervous of who she would be with in the dorm.
Either way though, a bright smile appeared on Aloe's face as she went to line up with the rest of her dorm. She hadn't forgotten about what was going on before the speech started though, but she figured that now that people were moving about, and with teachers about, her help wouldn't be needed anymore. She had said her peice, and let her mind return to the event at hand.
Before she got to the line up, Aloe realised she'd forgotten something and turned on her toes back to her original seating spot where she had left her books. Quickly she picked the two books up and held them with her arms around them as she walked to the line up a second time. Standing with the rest of the students in her dorm now, she smiled at whoever was either side of her. It felt a little weird that despite trying to talk to people, she still had no idea who anyone was, except the headmistress and the two teachers that were pointed out as heads of the houses, one of which being the teacher she'd tried talking to earlier, Alcina.
"Oh well, still plenty of time to say hello to people though. I wonder what everyone else is like." She thinks silently in her head.

"Ah, my name..." Yuki mumbled as she stood up from her seiza position and shuffled nervously to the line on the right of the head mistress. She looked at the others who seemed to be in the same dorm as her. Mentally attaching the names to the right faces, but she didn't know anyone, so all of them were just guesses. "Hrm..." she hummed a sigh.
The caramel colored eyes of hers trailed over to the headmistress's left to look at the other students. "Okay... Dango is us," Yuki looked back to the line she was in. "...Kaede Yui," Her quiet voice whispered again, looking over to the lady known to be the Deputy Headmistress, Kaede Yui.

Hunbaba walked in the line he was assignted to.House dongo, he said to himslef,...Isn't that for smart people, crying I'll never fully integrate!.He looked at the students ahead of him, then looked at the tables only to have his vision completly stolen by a candle's fire.At this moment Hunbaba was so concentrated on the that little piece of fire, swaet started to fall of his forehead, as he remembered what happened to hi, 23 years ago.Suddently he closed his eyes and took a deep breath,I'm not gonna give up, I'm not gonna lose again and step inside this academy and everyone will know me, I become better day by day and I'll rid this world of evil!, his eyes were showing off his determination no longer his drunken habbits. He waited to beggin his new journey a new chapter in his life.

"Well, That was interesting..." Caeles started, "But why flowers?... It makes no sense... It's a metaphor..." Caeles was stunned for a moment, not one of the voices spoke, "Did he just say something relevant?... No impossible... potato!... It was a fluke wasn't it..." Sitting oddly and talking to himself, Caeles watched the students form up into groups with his dark rimmed eyes, the gold iris' gleaming in the light.
Absently rubbing one of the scars on his left arm, Caeles chuckled as he noticed a drunken looking student, silently contemplating the punishment that they would receive for coming to the opening ceremony like that, before quickly returning his mind to more serious matters. How long can a potato be preserved in a vacuum? He wondered, before quickly returning his attention to the opening ceromony.
