R, to his credit, did not flinch as the rock tightened around him.
"You failures," he spat, "do not deserve to question me. Were it not for this man, you would all be dead at my feet. You'd best thank him now, because when I get free you're all going to die. Slowly."

"We just did that," Elizabeth pointed out. "You're not such a good listener, are you?"
All bark, someone else's bite.
"Now, since he seems keen on the idea of us questioning you, I'd rather like to hear why you're calling us failures."

Clarissa snapped, "Just tell us!" She walked over and slapped him across the face. In hindsight, this was probably a bad thing to do. But she just wanted her answers. Why couldn't he just give them information?

Elizabeth immediately pulled Clarissa back. "Don't get close to him, he can, like, change his body, remember?"
...
"There's something stopping him from shapeshifting to get away from that hand right?" she added.

As though in answer, the hand of colors flexed on his legs. "He won't get away quickly," The Thief responded. "Let's hurry this up and get him out of here. I have slightly unfinished business."

R took the slap to the face, his eyebrow's slight elevation his only reaction to it.
He looked at Clarissa, his eyes slitted slightly, before he said, "Ahh, yes. I remember you from the file. Little fool of a girl."
Then on to Elizabeth. "Because you are failures. Had you come out right, you'd be as tough as me. As it is, you're nothing but government lab rats. GenPharm sure did a number on you kiddies."

Schraeder, through the industrious use of teleporting and stun batonning, finished off the last guard and stood in front of the door switch. He hit it, and the door opened.
"Lionel, it's open! Let's go!"

"And what are we, then? What are you? We're failures, you say, but what did we fail at?" Elizabeth demanded.

Clarissa frowned. "What files?" The fact that he knew her file made her want to find out more. Not only does he know about us in general, but he knows about me. However, Elizabeth had asked more important questions; she'd rather hear about that than the possibility of files.

Adela ran through the door and waited for the others to get in.

He laughed aloud, despite his situation. "You really haven't gotten your memories back," he said.
"You are the failed batch of Hosts. The virus in you went dormant. You're like a weaker prototype version of me."

Quite simply, Helena was shocked to find herself face down on the ground. She'd been riding the adrenaline-induced high for so long, that to be struck with such force-- to feel a fair degree of pain-- was... startling. She coughed then took a couple heavy breaths before standing up. Grissom winced in doing so. Her ribs still hurt, and it felt like someone had stomped on her breasts, but she'd be alright she figured. During her recovery period, her fellow mutants had begun the interrogation. She walked forward slowly and quietly to stand beside Elizabeth. The artist was still a little dazed from her incident, and she was beginning her adrenaline crash, beginning to feel tired and perhaps a little sluggish. She did her best not to let it show, though.

"Is the virus what did this, then?" Elizabeth asked, hefting her deformed right arm, slowly putting the pieces together.

R nodded. "Now you're getting it. The virus is a symbiote that allows you to have such powers. The cost, of course, is the Hunger. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about."

(comes scrambling in, after searching for where the group went for the past few days)
Having missed a great deal of events, Jesse ran through the hallways, past dozens of bodies of mangled soldiers, into the open area where everyone else was. He thought to ask what he missed, but realized, that this wasn't the most opportuned times to do so. So, he stayed back behind the rest, catching glimpses of those he'd met before, and some new faces that he'd not seen.
Finally, his eyes fell upon the man on the floor who was being gripped by a stone fixture. He was talking to them, calling them failures, and seeming to preparing to shed some light on what the hell has been going on with him for the past few weeks. Quietly he stood there, listening, watching, waiting...
(my apologies friends, i'm just gonna have to play catch up from here on)

Of course it had to be something totally ******** twisted to give them these abilities! Well damn it all to Hell in a flaming hand basket! she thought, slowly stepping forward. "Can it be reversed?" Her gaze looked hopeful, but there was a deep-seated doubt in the back of Helena Grissom's mind that was unshakable: there would be neither a reversal nor cure. Already she was accepting the fact that she would have to learn to control it.
