Riza accepted the poke ball with shaking hands, and she tried to say thanks, but the words wouldn't come. She couldn't believe that she'd really just gotten a Cyndaquil, in fact she was sure that when she opened the poke ball that there would either be nothing inside or that she had actually just received something else, like a magikarp or something. 'Would they really trick me though?' she thought. "Th-thank you, Mrs. Summers," she said finally. "This means a lot to me." She didn't get to say anything else as Keegan had suddenly grabbed her hand and soon they were heading back out into the main section of the contest hall. 'I wonder if I'll ever participate in a contest here,' she thought idly, carefully sitting down so as not to wrinkle her dress.
"Yes, your mom is very nice," she replied, still holding tightly to the poke ball. "I dunno about your dad, though I can see where you get your lovely attitude from," she added, though her tone was playful. She couldn't help but notice as he looked over at one of the nearby tables. 'Oh yeah, he'll never admit it to anyone but himself, but he's got it bad for her,' she thought, letting out a rueful sigh. She carefully slipped the poke ball safely inside her purse with the others and checked the time on her phone. It was getting late and she was quite sleepy, and the thought of bed was rather appealling, but she didn't want to leave just yet. She was having fun, even though the red head's attention was clearly not on her. She looked towards Kasiya and her Charmander before standing up. "I'm gonna go get some air, probably head back to the pokecenter for the night," she said, walking over to him. She leaned down and gently kissed his cheek, allowing her lips to linger a little longer than necessary. "Just don't get into too much trouble, all right?"
She thought she saw someone wave in her direction but they were gone before she could really react, so she gathered her composure and walked right past Kasiya's table, slowing her pace for only a few seconds. "Go talk to him already, would you? You two are driving everyone around you nuts." She offered a friendly smile before saying goodnight and heading outside. * * * * * Genki crouched low to the ground when he saw the luxio start to charge at him again, more electricity flaring from his body in every direction. The monferno didn't appear to be worried in the slightest, and though he could hear Katie shouting at him to dodge he chose to ignore her for once, and instead he raced forward, deciding to meet his opponent head on. He reared back his fist, feeling a surge of strength course through his arm as he charged up a mach punch, wanting very much to end the battle right here and now.
He swung almost wildly when he was within range, though the sudden charge of electrified energy that shot through him made it impossible for him to tell if his mach punch had even connected or not. The impact hit with such force that he was knocked back several feet, landing flat on his back, and he did not get up again, clearly too weak to continue fighting. "Genki!" Katie shouted, running over to her fallen friend. "Why didn't you listen? You could have dodged that easily," she mumbled, carefully kneeling down beside him. He opened his eyes a little bit and gave a sheepish grin before closing them again and allowing sleep to take him. "Always so stubborn," Katie said quietly, recalling him into his poke ball as she stood up, looking over to see what kind of shape Lilah's Luxio was in.

Keegan quirked an eyebrow at Riza's comment, not really sure if he followed. "Attitude? If it's one thing my dad could use, it's attitude," he replied quickly. "And I think my attitude's just fine, thank you very much." The next few moments were fairly quiet, though he did see Mitsu as she left for the evening, and he waved back, wondering if she was leaving for the evening. He looked back to Riza in time to see her stand up, and inform him that she was leaving as well, and he frowned a little. "Okay th-then," he mumbled, feeling a warmth creep into his face as she kissed him, and having not been expecting it he was a little too stunned to do anything but watch her leave the building. Okay, what's up with her? he thought, wanting to go after her, but something told him that doing so would only end in awkwardness. At the very least I should walk her back to the Pokemon Center, he thought, standing up so very quickly that he didn't realize a waiter had been walking along right behind him and the redhead's sudden movement made him jump. Of course, this meant that the tray full of champagne flutes he'd been carrying came crashing down all around them in a mess of liquid and glass. "Oh s**t," was all Keegan could mutter, though he did bend down and help to clean up the larger pieces of glass.
"It was an accident, Sir, don't worry about it," the server mumbled, though Keegan could easily tell that he was rattled. "I'll get someone to bring a mop," he added, scrambling to his feet and running off towards one of the staff-only doors.
"Oh sure, leave me with all this," Keegan grumbled, though he picked up as many pieces of broken glass as he could before they became too small to get a hold of. Only when he stood up again did he notice that he'd sliced open one of his fingers in the process of cleaning up, and naturally it only began to sting after he'd noticed it. "This gets better and better all the time," he muttered sarcastically, deciding then that he needed a drink. ===== Miharu was oblivious to Tyra's sullen feelings, though had she known how her new acquaintance was feeling she could sympathize, at the very least. Miharu's first few weeks as a trainer had been fairly easy, as most of the kids around her hometown and Violet City had only Rattata, Pidgey, Hoothoot and the occasional Ledyba and Spinarak for her to battle with. Tingle, even as a Beldum, had shrugged off most of those low-level attacks and won every battle with ease, and even Lily, the then-newly hatched Bulbasaur had taken many victories as well, both without a loss. It was the confidence given from those many wins that brought Miharu to the Violet City gym to face Falkner, and though she'd battled the bird Pokemon that Falkner raised many times before, the Gym Leader had certainly lived up to his title and it proved to be the most difficult match of Miharu's young life. Though she'd won that battle her confidence had been rattled, and from then on out she'd doubted herself as a trainer.
Tingle floated somewhat happily next to Miharu as the small group entered Olivine, and it was easy enough to follow the signs that would lead them to the Pokemon Center. Miharu felt quite relieved to be out of the sun when they stepped through the sliding glass doors, and a quick glance around showed that it was moderately busy. Without waiting to see if Tyra was following or not Miharu quickly got in line, Tingle right beside her, and actually behaving himself for once.

"Good night, Mitsu," Kasiya said, looking up at her friend. "And no, she wasn't really much trouble, though you probably will want to give her lots of water in the morning," she added with a small laugh. Sometimes her father would go overboard with his drinking, and as a result, in the morning about the only thing that helped cure his hungover states other than a heaping dose of aspirin was a giant glass of water or two. Even before she'd known he was her father, Kasiya had helped take care of him after nights like those, but she didn't quite feel like explaining herself right away.
She hadn't noticed Riza's hasty departure from the table until the tall, raven-haired girl passed by her table. A shocked and embarrassed look appeared on the girl's face at Riza's words and she hung her head a little, suddenly feeling very small and very stupid. She hadn't thought too much about how her and Keegan's constant disagreements and fighting might have affected their friends, and all she wanted to do was flee from the room and hide somewhere. That is, until the resounding crash from nearby made her nearly jump out of her seat with surprise. Nova uttered a little squeal and buried her face in Kasiya's chest, shaking all over. "Shh, it's okay, Nova, you're safe," Kasiya whispered, carefully wrapping her arms around the scared little fire lizard to reassure her. Still clutching Nova to her chest, Kasiya stood up to see what the cause of the commotion had been.
Why am I not surprised? Kasiya thought, stifling a giggle as she made her way over to the familiar redhead, though she had to admit that she was impressed to see him actually bothering to help clean up the mess he'd made. She was also quick to notice that his finger was bleeding. "You should get that cleaned up," she said matter-of-factly, shifting Nova in her arms a little. "There's a first aid kit in one of the dressing rooms back there, I can show you if you'd like," she added. When the Charmander recognized Keegan she let out a happy cry and waved her arms at him. He may have not been the very first person she saw when she was born, but he was one of the first few and she did like him very much.
=-=-=-=-= Neither Lilah nor her Luxio was expecting the Monferno to launch a counterattack, especially something so reckless as a Mach Punch. Even so, Luxio narrowed his eyes and braced for impact, loosing a roar as he felt his body connect with Genki's fist. The stored electricity discharged from him on impact, and though it wouldn't harm him in the slightest, the strong punch from his opponent definitely had. The Mach Punch had struck him square in the chest and knocked the wind out of him, and he too was flung back from the impact, landing heavily on his side.
Lilah could only watch with wide eyes as both Pokemon lay motionless, and after a moment or so she chuckled and recalled her Luxio. "You did great," she said, putting the ball into her handbag and looking towards Katie as she recalled her Monferno. "I guess it's a draw then," she laughed. "So what do we do about our little wager?"
=-=-=-=-= Rattata definitely looked quite pleased with himself after having executed such an amazing dodge, but it would be a short-lived celebration as soon the larger Pokemon was right there again, lunging out for a Bite attack. The mouse let out a shrill squeak as the hit connected, leaving a nasty wound on on his shoulders. Callum didn't seem to be too phased, however, and simply nodded. "You use Bite as well," he said, his tone a little more commanding than before.
Rattata didn't hesitate to comply and he quickly jumped forward, aiming to sink his own sharp teeth into the body of the Growlithe. Again Callum was impressed by the small Pokemon's speed. "I bet he'll make a great Raticate someday," he said, mostly to himself.

About half an hour passed by and Kilik was feeling on top of the world. He wanted to add another hour to their training. He figured that Treecko could use it. After all, she needed to catch up to Cable. Then again, he thought, their levels are so drastically different that that could be awhile...I'd have to stop using Cable for a long time. Shaking the idea from him mind, as Cable was now his star combatant, Kilik swung his arm through the air. "Give him a Pound attack, Treecko!" Panting heavily, she looked over her shoulder. How come that big yellow thing wasn't going down? She managed to dodge every one of his attacks that he dished out, but he was getting hit every time! Why couldn't she beat him? Wiping her lip, the little gecko ran at her opponent and jumped into the air, swinging her tail in front of her.
He was so used to getting smacked around by Dragonbreath that Cable wasn't exactly prepared for what was coming at him. With a sigh, he took the gecko's tail right onto his head. Electabuzz fell to his knees, clutching a clump of grass in his fist. Kilik wasn't starting to get a new favorite was he? No, that couldn't be it. After all, he deposited everyone but himself! Getting up, he started to spark with electricity. The thought that he was going to be replaced got him very angry. "Eleeee..." "Whoa, whoa!" Kilik barked, "Cable, settle down!" He ran past the Treecko and put his hands on Cable's shoulders. "What just got into you?" He snapped, "You're scaring Treecko!" The boy looked over to see his new gecko Pokemon and smiled at her, kneeling down. "Cable, look. She wants to be strong, like you. No need to spaz out like that."
Treecko put her thumb into her mouth and walked on her back legs over to Kilik and Cable, interested in what was going on. When she heard her master say "strong", she began to blush madly and put her face into Kilik's shirt. "Treeeecko, Treeeee..." she said nonchalantly. Kilik almost jumped, but picked the gecko up and put her on his shoulder. "She's like you were when you were little, Cable. Easily frightened, and she likes to perch herself on my shoulder. But don't worry," he put a hand on his Electabuzz's head, "You're still number one to me." Now that his worry had been calmed, Cable smiled up at his trainer and the Treecko. He held a hand out and Treecko looked at it. Instead, she crawled down from Kilik and clutched onto his shirt before jumping out and crawling up the length of Cable's arm, sitting on his shoulder. The little gecko bumped her head against the Electabuzz and cooed.
"See?" Kilik laughed, stuffing his hands into his pockets, "She really likes you now! And she doesn't want you to think any less of yourself, either." Treecko hopped down and moved back to Kilik, standing by his leg. "You two ready to battle a little more? We still got an hour and a half to go." Nodding, Cable put his fists up. Treecko nodded as well, walking out a little ways.
"Dragonbreath, Treecko!"

Hmm maybe saying that Hera could easily beat his Misdreavus wasn't the smartest thing Dante had ever done but he couldn't take it back now. Besides, Dante was confident that Hera could win the battle. "Hmm well, maybe that wasn't the nicest thing for me to say." Was all Dante said as he started to head outside not really paying to much attention if the other followed him.
Behind him Hera followed closely while still trying to keep an eye on that ugly freaky ghost thing. She had never seen a ghost pokemon before and Hera could already tell she didn't like them, not one bit. She wasn't even sure she wanted to touch it in a battle. What would it feel like? Would it be slimy? She didn't want to get slime all over her horn! She wanted to battle solid things, to test her strength, now she had to fight a slime ghost thing?
~~~~~~~
When Robin caught sight of Luffy messing around with the Totodile from earlier she just frowned. What was that little Totodile doing following them around like that. "Huh, why is that Totodile following us around." Robin mumbled into her phone.
"Oh a Totodile? Those are one of the starters from Johto right? See if you can catch it." Robins mom encouraged over the phone.
"What catch it? I dunno. I mean Luffy seems to think its funny. I just don't know if I need another pokemon right now." Robin mused as she watched Luffy mess with the Totodile.
"Robin, aren't you going to be sending us your water pokemon? Don't you need another one?"
Frowning somewhat Robin watched as the two pokemon goofed off, well Luffy goofed off, the Totodile was trying to show off. As she watched the pokemon a thought passed through her mind at one of the Totodiles posses. 'He acts exactly like Black*Star.' The moment the thought went through her mind that was all she could think about. "Urg, all right mom I will see if he wants to come with us." Was all she muttered before she hung up on her mom. Walking over to the two she stood over them with her hands on her hips. "Luffy what do you think about this Totodile?" She asked a serious look on her face.
Luffy just looked up from where he was playing with the funny gator pokemon and grinned at her. He liked the Totodile, it was always saying such funny things.
"Hmm well looks like you find him ok. All right then. Totodile, you are coming with us!" Was all Robin said as she took out a pokeball from her bag and threw it at the Totodile who just stood there and blinked at Robin as the ball hit him right in the face.
"Hmm? Nah, it's fine," Keegan replied quickly, sticking his bleeding finger in his mouth and sucking on it a little. Mmm, bloody floor champagne, he thought, looking towards Kasiya, though not immediately realizing it was her. It's the uniform, he thought, smirking inwardly. It makes her seem a lot older than she really is. He averted his gaze after a few seconds, however, still finding it hard to look at her. "I don't think I'm going to bleed to death and I really don't see why you would care even if I was," he added somewhat sarcastically.
He looked towards Nova, and smiled at the cute orange Pokemon. He didn't understand why she was so happy to see him and he couldn't resist reaching out to give her a gentle pat on the head. "She looks bigger already," he marveled. "What have you been feeding her?" Though, as soon as he asked the question he regretted it. It was amazing how quickly the baby Charmander had managed to subdue his anger, and all she'd done was look cute and wave at him. I really am going soft, he thought with a light chuckle.
Train watched as the Rattata retaliated quickly, not seeming to be slowed down by the wound on its shoulder at all. This whole battle was giving her newfound respect for her own Rattata. Honestly, before it was just a normal-type mouse to her, she never really thought about what speeds it could reach. She could see now that he could actually turn out to be a pretty decent battler. She had probably been basing her opinion off the fact that he couldn't do much against Brock's Pokèmon...oh, well. Back to the matter at hand! "Try another Ember!" She called, moving her gaze back to the Rattata to see if it would try to dodge again.
Growlithe was unhappy at having been bitten right back by the mouse, but ignored the bit of pain from his own shoulder and opened his mouth to send the small jet of flames at the Rattata.+=+=+=+ Leon did reply to Dante's comment and proceeded to walk after him as he headed outside, Muuma floating by his shoulder as usual. She looked down at Hera and noticed that the bug was looking at her, so she stuck her tongue out and tried to look as obnoxious as she could. She herself had seen bug Pokèmon before, and didn't particularly care one way or another about them.
Once they'd gone far enough from the Contest Hall that they wouldn't distrub people who just happened to be taking a break outside or anything, Leon stopped and waited for the other trainer to take up the opposite end of what would be their makeshift battlefield, and motioned Misdreavus to take her place as well. Leon looked over at the girl and smirked. "Ladies first."
"Of course I care," Kasiya replied quietly, once again shifting the Charmander in her arms as all her squirming made it difficult to keep a hold of her. "You should clean it up anyway," she went on, also keeping her gaze focused on something else - in this case, a tall woman wearing a stunning, hunter-green gown with a wrap that looked like it had been made out of woven leaves. "You don't want it to get infected." Nova, on the other hand, was completely enjoying being the center of attention. Even more so, the baby had it ingrained in her mind that her mama and the boy with the fiery red hair were together, since she'd always known them to be that way. Kasiya smiled and studied Nova closely for moment. I think she is bigger, she thought, quite surprised. "She eats whatever she wants, really," Kasiya said with a shrug. "Which is pretty much anything and everything that's edible." She sighed a little then, wanting to ask him why Riza had left, seeing as he'd said they were there 'together', but she decided against it. He's not throwing lame one-liner insults at me, and he's not yelling either, she thought, feeling a little optimistic. I wonder if Riza said anything to him. She gulped a little, knowing full well that this would probably be her one and only chance to actually talk to him before she left. She would be on the ship heading to Sinnoh tomorrow at noon, and she was more than certain that he wouldn't be going the same way. She also didn't want to do this in front of so many people, so she came up with what she thought to be a rather ingenious plan.
It's now or never, she thought, returning Nova to her Pokeball. "Oh, Keegan, I think you dropped something," she said, pointing to a spot about three feet behind him. She waited until he'd turned away from her before she quickly and rather skillfully removed his wallet from his back pocket. "And I think you do want to come with me to get your finger bandaged up," she said playfully, already a good twenty paces away from him and still backpedaling. "That is, if you want this back," she added, waving her pilfered prize in the air above her head so he'd get a good look at it. This will end one of two ways, she thought as she weaved her way around and between people. Either we'll end up laughing about it and it'll be a great ice breaker, or he's gonna be really, really, really mad...
=-=-=-=-= The salt water stung his eyes and burned in his lungs, and the water out here was far colder than he'd anticipated, but Jaeshan pushed onwards, the thought of saving the Pokemon in trouble the driving force that kept him going. He coughed and sputtered as an unexpected wave of water washed over his head, and even as he tried to regain his breath he continued to swim. He had no real idea how long he'd been at it, but after a bit of counting to himself he realized he must have gone out at least a couple hundred yards. A short time after that he was finally was able to make out the smooth, blue head of the Pokemon, and what looked like a smooth, yet solid-looking shell. A Squirtle? he thought, struggling to get closer. But what is a Squirtle doing all the way out here...? It was clinging desperately to a piece of tattered driftwood, but only just barely. Even from a distance Jaeshan could tell that the poor thing was clearly exhausted. With one final push through the water Jaeshan attempted to pull the turtle into his arms, but it clung stubbornly to it's makeshift raft. "It's all right, I've got you know," he told the waterlogged Pokemon, though he wasn't sure just how he was going to get back to the shore. He'd long since passed the drop-off point as below him there was nothing but an inky blackness. And me with no Water-type Pokemon, he thought ruefully, suddenly very much hating himself for that very fact. Even still he knew that if he went with the current heading back to shore the swim would be much easier. "I'm gonna get you to shore, and to the Pokemon Center," he told the Squirtle, who was now looking at him with tired, droopy eyes. It tried to say something but was unable to as it finally succumbed to its fatigue and Jaeshan was able to pry it's tiny hands from the piece of driftwood.
It was a massive struggle but somehow Jaeshan managed to get back to shallow water; at least shallow enough for him to not have to swim anymore. Every one of his muscles were screaming at him to stop but he pressed onwards, keeping his eyes glued to the shore where he could now clearly see Blaziken and his other Pokemon. "Al-almost... th-there..." he mumbled, stumbling a bit as one of his feet sank into soft sand beneath him. Each step he took seemed to make it harder to go on, but Jaeshan knew that it was only because there was more gravity pulling at him and less water to help carry his weight. He didn't say a word as he finally staggered up onto the dry, welcoming sand of the beach, cradling the unconscious Squirtle in his arms like one would a tiny baby. He only nodded once at Blaziken who seemed to understand. Weedle was still sitting up on her shoulder as she and Metang gathered up the few things Jaeshan had brought with him to the beach. Butterfree picked up his towel and shook the sand from it before draping it over her trainer's shoulder, knowing he and the Pokemon would both need the warmth. Today hadn't been overly warm and Butterfree could easily guess that the water was quite cold. The group began to make their way back into town, not sure what would happen next.
=-=-=-=-= Callum's eyes seemed to light up as Train set her new Growlithe on the attack again. The small burst of flames headed quickly for the small purple rat and though he instinctively tried to evade it he was unable to do so completely, feeling the flames lick at his back.
"Use Focus Energy now, and stay on the evasive," Callum called out. The Rattata's tail quivered a bit as he crouched low to the ground. He felt a surge of adrenaline shoot through him and he gnashed his teeth together, hoping to make the next attack he made a good one.
"Hmm, thank you." Dante said mostly to be polite then actually meaning it. Looking out at the ghost type had her trainer Dante simply stared at them for a moment before glancing down at Hera who seemed to have taken a dislike to ghost pokemon. To bad, he was pretty sure Hera might have liked Kenny when he was in his party. Anyway it looked like this battle was gunna be interesting after all. Dante didn't have a whole lot of a move choice with Hera since only two of her moves could actually hit the ghost type. Thinking for a moment on which one he would start with Dante finally decided to start of strong. "All right then Hera, lets start off with your Night Slash."
Despite Hera's not wanting to touch the ghost pokemon in fear of slime that didn't mean she wouldn't listen to her trainer. Fluttering her wings a bit Hera charged her energy up into her horn and causing it to glow black. Her dark eyes followed the annoying ghost pokemon who was sticking her tongue out at her. Seeing her moment the Heracross took off her beetle like wings fluttering rapidly as she flew towards the ghost pokemon ready to make a powerful sweep of her horn.
~~~~~~~~
Just as soon as the Totodile was sucked into the pokeball the stubborn water pokemon popped right out of it again. Frowning somewhat Robin stared down at the pokemon that was now staring back up at her. "Hmm, and here I was thinking you wanted to come with us."
The Totodile stared up at Robin not quite sure what to do with her, yeah sure he wouldn't mind having some human follow him around but she couldn't go around putting his greatness into a small ball like that. If she wanted to follow him around and worship his greatness then that was always fine with him, however he would have some conditions first. Holding up two fingers towards Robin with a serious look on his face, while he couldn't exactly talk to her he would do his best to make his demands known.
"Eh? Luffy you know what he is doing?" Robin asked as she looked down at the Totodile then over at her Ambipom.
Luffy just looked at Robin and shrugged, the funny gator was saying something about conditions, he didn't really know, or care to much.
"Conditions eh?" Robin asked somehow knowing what Luffy was feeling, she didn't really know how but she like Luffy didn't really care. "All right I'll listen."
All right, now they were talking. Ok his first condition was that she help him on his quest to become more powerful the god himself. The second one was no more tiny ball things, that would smother his greatness and would be counter productive to condition number one. If she could promise him both of those things then he would aid her with his awesome power.
Staring down at the little Totodile Robin thought for a second. Those demands weren't to hard to meet. Sure she would have to put him in a pokeball for a few seconds since she wasn't going through the ordeal she had to do with Luffy to get him registered under her name again. "All right then, we have a deal. However there is just one tiny little problem. I do need you to get in the small ball again for just a few seconds. I won't put you back in there but its just so that people know I am your number one follower." Robin threw that last part in but she had a feeling it would make it a bit more acceptable for the Black*Star like Totodile.
Hmm going into the ball again was not a very appealing idea but if it wasn't for very long he supposed he could compromise. After all he was going to get his first follower, it shouldn't be said he wouldn't do anything for his fans. Nodding his head the Totodile and Robin came to an agreement.
Taking out another pokeball Robin held it up so that the Totodile could see it before tossing it slightly at the Totodile who was sucked in again. This time the ball shook for just a moment before it settled down again and binged at Robin's capture. Picking it up Robin smiled down at the ball for a second before glancing down at Luffy. "All right looks like you made another friend." That said she kept her promise and released her newly captured pokemon. "All right glad you could join the team Black*Star."
Black*Star? Is that what she called him? Hmm well it was pretty catchy, and he would need a name for people to remember him better by. Yeah, he could deal with Black*Star being his name. Giving a thumbs up the newly named Black*Star joined Robin's team even if he thought it was his own team.

"Yes!" Train said happily as the Ember hit the Rattata, even if it did only scorch its back. She observed the purple mouse for a moment, giggling a bit when Growlithe gave a little yip in response to the Rattata nashing his teeth. "Leer." She finally decided. Growlithe looked sideways at his opponent, his gaze now full of malicious intent, which would hopefully in turn frighten the Rattata so that it's defense would be lowered.+=+=+=+ Muuma swayed from side to side, her look a mocking one. Her expression became surprised, however, when she saw the bug's horn begin to glow and it charged at her. She attempted to move out of the way, but just couldn't make it in time and she let out an eery shriek of pain as the super effective hit connected.
"Tch," Leon looked at Muuma, who was considerably weakened due to the similar levels of the two. "You need to pay more attention," He said to the ghost. "Counter with a Confuse Ray." He knew that if she got by any attack at all, she would faint. Which was really annoying, but there wasn't anything he could do about it. His only chance in this was if the Confuse Ray worked and prevented the Heracross from landing another hit.

Keegan tried to think back to what his parents fed the young Charmander at home, but he couldn't think of anything specific. "That sounds pretty normal, actually," he said, shrugging. Either way Nova appeared to be doing quite well, not that he expected anything less from Kasiya. He chanced taking a quick glance at her, trying to figure out what her real reason for coming over here had been. She seemed to be lost in thought and he silently wondered if he'd be able to make a break for it, but like most people, he fell for the distraction and turned to where she was pointing, though he saw nothing but shattered glass and champagne on the floor.
"I didn't drop anything," he grumbled, quite annoyed. However, when he saw Kasiya waving his wallet over her head he instinctively reached for his back pockets, eyes wide with both anger and surprise when he realized she really did just take his wallet. "Hey!" he shouted, but she was already out of his reach, and he was only just able to catch a glimpse of her before she ducked out of sight. If my ID wasn't in there, I'd just let her keep it, he thought, glancing around quickly. But if she thinks she can win that easily, she's got another thing coming! Instead of following after her, he headed out the front doors, pushing past people as he jogged down the paved path. He veered off to the left, not caring that the dew-soaked grass was getting the bottoms of his pant-legs damp. He found one of the staff entrances and after eying the various MooMoo Milk crates that were stacked against the wall he headed inside, hoping that he wouldn't get stopped by security and that he'd be able to catch her off guard. "What's gotten into that girl, anyway?" he mumbled as he entered the kitchen. "Hey, tell me where the dressing rooms are," he said, approaching a man maybe a few years older than him wearing a grease-stained apron.
"Through that door and to the left, you can't miss 'em," the cook replied without looking up from his cutting board.
Keegan nodded. "Thanks." Heading in the direction as indicated by the cook he kept his pace slow and peered down the hall. It was completely empty - no sign of his blonde pickpocket. "Now where did she get to...?" he mumbled, picking a door at random and opening it, praying that he wouldn't walk in on anyone changing. "Hello...?" he asked tentatively, looking around the small room, sighing with relief when he saw that the it was vacant. He did, however, recognize the backpack sitting on one of the chairs in the corner and he decided to wait right there, knowing she'd come back here eventually.

Having finished his meal long before Ken had, probably do to the fact that he'd been talking nearly the whole time, Crenu was just sitting back and listening. He as a bit off put by Kenneth's tale of travel, he hadn't realized how well a trail he'd left. But even if he hadn't, he was sure Ken would have found him anyway. The man was so determined on the little things it was scary. But the fact that he had gone through all the trouble was still a bit odd, there was more to it than that. "Very well Sherlock. But that's an awful lot of effort just to say hi to 'an old friend.' What do you really want Ken?" Straight forward and blunt. The only way to get things done right. It was a this point that a Chansey with a cart brought Ken and Crenu two trays with their pokeballs on them, seperated and handed back accordingly.
"Ouch! I'm hurt Shiro, seriously. How could you say something like that, of course I'd go to the ends of the earth to see my dearest friends!" Kenneth insisted with his eyes, but staring at the blank and somewhat angry face of Crenu finally made him falter. He was good alright. "Ok ok, so maybe I do have some things on my mind." He said with a slightly solemn tone. It was something not even he could hide well, but he did soon snap back to his cheery disposition. "But that can wait. It's not pressing matter, not so much anymore. Anyway, I really got a good look at your pokemon this morning. Pupitar seems to have grown quite a bit, good job no? And your Ariados is simply darling! Both showed some good power, but I think there's something more there. Some potential for all sorts of things. Tell me Shiro, have you ever thought about contests? I'm sure you can tell already from my extra fab outfit, but I'm a Pokemon Coordinator. You've heard of them yes?"
Crenu took a moment to think about it, and Kenneth was right. He'd noticed during the battle that his pokemon had a way of showing off a form of beauty in battle. The way Mismagius's eerie purple glow radiated through the green protect bubble was actually rather stunning in a creepy way, and his Swinub's icy wind looks like shining diamonds being blown about. Perhaps the most impressive thing was how he was no less battle efficient even though some of his attacks were a bit showy. A display of power and concentration if he'd ever seen one. "Yes, I had my suspicions. All I know is that contests are a battle stage far different from gyms. They aren't just about battling, but about using one's attacks and abilities in creative ways to show off their mastery of control and power. I've thought about entering them myself, with my intelligence and logic I think it would be a perfect way to test my abilities and dominate. Though I haven't entered any yet, haven't gotten the chance."
Kenneth just looked at Crenu, a bit worried about his response. What happened to that quiet kid he left behind? He was more or less the same, but filled with much more anger....no that wasn't right. More like an obsession. "Um, well yes I suppose that's basically right. But it's more like...well never mind. Whatever works for you right? But why haven't you tried contests yet? Have you been collecting badges instead? You gotta get in on that action A.S.A.P. my friend, your pokemon are sure to do well. Well...almost all of them..." He said, remembering Hitmonlee's lackluster performance.
"Hmm...yes. He's a traded pokemon, so it's natural that he wouldn't trust me 100% just yet. But after my last gym victory I thought he'd start listening. I'm afraid he simply resents me to much, don't have a clue why. He probably doesn't like getting hurt so much but if he listened more often he wouldn't have to." Crenu said, taking Hitmonlee's pokeball from his belt and spinning it on his finger before holding it still for both of them to look at. "I was not joking before, Hitmonlee may be rare but he can still be replaced. I'm going to have to let him go, let him fend for himself out there, I'm sure another trainer will pick him up eventually. Normally the idea of abandoning a pokemon would be simply inexcusable, taking the easy way out as opposed to doing what it takes to get things done right is simply cowardly. However in this case I may make an exception, for I have tried and made my self clear on the subject and he continued to resent me and disobey. He simply wants nothing to do with me and I'm tired of wasting my time." He hadn't made a decision yet, but that was sounding like the only choice he had.
"Oh no, don't do that Shiro. I mean you're right, this isn't some untamed pokemon that needs to be disciplined or trained more, Hitmonlee is fully aware of his decisions and has gotten use to the trainer life style from his previous trainer it seems. He has chosen not to accept you in full consciousness, but that is why you can't simply release him...he could end up getting into a lot of trouble carrying those sorts of problems around..." This was troubling indeed. Crenu had a bit of a point in that Hitmonlee had made his choice, but he really didn't want to see it abandoned by hi strainer, who knew what kind of effects it might have. But what was a man to do? Wait, that was perfect! Kenneth was great with this sort of thing, perhaps his gentler touch would do the trick! "Ah, I know Crenu! Hitmonlee may be a bit naughty but I know he's a real sweetheart deep down inside. Why not let me take him off your hands, I love takign in pokemon like this and helping them find their inner sweetness. Oh, not for free of course. I'll trade you my Swinub, I've had him for a bit, got him breed just for me back in Sinnoh actually. He's a real sweetie pie, nice and calm and sure to give you no trouble. He's actually pretty calm almost all the time and a little dull...he kinda reminds me of you actually." Ken paused to laugh for a little and pulled out Swinub's pokeball, holding it for Crenu to see. "He's probably a bit younger than your Hitmonlee there, but trust me he's a tough one. And he can even help with your contests, you saw that beautiful Icy Wind before that was also strong. Come on buddy what do ya say? Another Johto pokemon to give you that touch of home, besides I remember you liked ice types best right? It's alright really, he doesn't have as much flare as my other pokemon does and I'd be happy knowing he was in a friends hands."
Crenu looked at Kenneth for a while, thinking about what he said. It was true, he did like ice types quite a bit. And Piloswine were tough rouged pokemon, a perfect addition to the team that could fill Hitmonlee's spot adequately. But still, he had put time and effort into Hitmonlee and he wasn't all that serious about letting him go. But Kenneth seemed really riled up about the whole thing, he was almost afraid to say no now. Well, at least he was familiar with Swinub, and the ground typing was sure unique. "...hmm..fine. But He'd better not have picked up any annoying tendencies from you or he'll be out on his fuzzy behind in a heart beat."
"Oh great! Thank you Shiro, I just know I can help Hitmonlee with my superb charm. Oh and he's a strong one' he'll look so cool out there on the contest stage. Oh, which reminds me we gotta get you ready for some contests. I'll help you out and everything, it'll be fun! Now coem on, we gotta use one of those trade machines in the center." He said as he got up and started to lead the way. He could tell Crenu was questioning this just by the look he was getting. "Heh, well we can't just trade all Willy Nilly across the table. Well, we can I guess but I can't. Using the machine is how we trade our info and get it recorded, you don't have a pokedex so you wouldn't know but I do so I need it to be registered as an official transaction. Plus it just looks so much cooler. Now come on." Ken had become genuinely excited by this point and started up the machine without a moments delay. He plugged in his dex and placed his ball under the large tube pointing out on his side, smiling as Crenu did the same. The program initiated and the balls were sucked up into the machine where the screen woudl show the silhouettes of Swinub and Hitmonlee crossing, and on a smaller display near the keybord a number of data lines were beign exchanged as well, though since Crenu had no dex plugged in the incoming data went nowhere but to waste. Within moments the machine spat out both pokeballs, now in the reverse order that they had gone in, and Ken grabbed his new pokemon holding up the ball with excitement. "Alright! We're gonna have so much fun Hitmonlee, and I know you'll fall in love with Swinub Crenu. Oh, so where to from here, you gonna train a bit more?"
"Me? Maybe. I've got a gym to challenge today, Erika's badge will be mine." Crenu picked up his pokeball with his new Swinub and held it for a moment before clipping it onto his belt. That was right, he still had work to do.

She continued to blast blue fire out of her mouth, jumping from side to side to avoid continuous Thunderpunch attacks from Cable. Each one of her attacks hit, and she felt a little more excited about battling. The little gecko ran around Cable and landed a powerful (at least, she thought it was) Pound attack right on his back. To make it appear that it hurt him a lot more than it really did, Cable stumbled a few feet forward and fell flat on his stomach. He really hoped that would make Treecko feel happy and stronger. Kilik smiled then lifted up Electabuzz's Pokeball, recalling him. "Great job, Cable. You really made her fell great." He put the ball on his belt and walked over to Treecko, kneeling down to let her move onto his shoulder. When she was nice and situated, Kilik took note that she was looking very tired. "You ready for bed? Two hours sure can fly by."
With a small yawn, which was more of a squeak than anything, she closed her eyes and leaned her head against her trainer's. Treecko was sleeping softly within moments, a smile plastered on her face. Kilik put his hands into his pockets and headed back towards the Pokemon Center very slowly. In less than ten hours, he'd be on the boat headed towards the Sinnoh region. He had no idea how long the boat ride was going to be. He had hoped it wouldn't be more than a few hours. Flying from Kanto to Hoenn takes about an hour. I'd say it wouldn't take more than three hours, at most. Then again, he could be proved wrong. A hefty sigh escaped him. Going into unknown territory without your most powerful Pokemon was a frightening idea. Surely, he thought, the trainers around Rowan's lab aren't going to be entirely too strong and I'm sure the Gym Leaders are about as powerful as the ones here in Hoenn.
He entered the Pokemon Center and yawned, walking back to his place on the couch. Looking around and making sure he wasn't going to sit on Mitsu, Kilik laid back down on the couch, moving the sleeping Treecko to his stomach. As young as she was, he was very surprised that she didn't wake up in the move. He closed his eyes and let out another mighty yawn before falling asleep again.

It didn't take Kasiya very long to realize that Keegan wasn't chasing after her, though she did stop and have a very good look around just to make sure. I guess he really doesn't want his wallet back after all, she thought, turning it over in her hands a few times, very much tempted to take a peek inside. She decided against it, however, and simply put it safely into the front pocket of her apron. "I guess I'll have to give it back to him later," she mumbled, now second-guessing her so-called 'plan'. Not wanting to chance losing it she decided to stow it in her backpack until she was done working, wondering if she'd even be able to try and return it to him now. I just have a knack for making things worse, she thought as she walked, quickly making her way towards the back of the main hall and into the first door she came across. This lead her into a small hallway shaped like a 'T', one way branching off towards the restrooms while the other would bring her to the dressing rooms.
The first and only thing she noticed was that the door to the room her things in was open, and she cautiously crept forward, wondering if there'd be anything in range for her to use as a weapon if some creep happened to be rifling through her things (though the fact that this thought was a bit hypocritical didn't even dawn on her). She also wasn't expecting to see Keegan waiting for her in the room either, and so his presence definitely took her by surprise and even though it was the opposite of what she wanted to do, she tried to make a break for it.
=-=-=-=-= Again, Jaeshan wasn't even how much time had passed by the time he staggered back into Dewford, still carrying the Squirtle in his arms. His other Pokemon remained nearby for most of the walk back in though he did eventually recall everyone but Blaziken, since she was the one carrying his things, and Butterfree, since she was a fantastic scout. He'd never been happier to hear the butterfly's excited cries when she saw the Pokemon Center from her position above them in the sky, and as soon as the red-roofed building was within sight for the human he somehow picked up his pace, now half-running/half-staggering. This time, upon entering, he didn't even notice that there were no other trainers currently around. "Please... I need some help over here!" he cried as he stepped through the sliding doors, his voice raspy and barely more than a whisper.
"Oh my!" exclaimed Nurse Joy from her desk, standing up and motioning to the Chansey situated nearby, and the pink Pokemon nodded and hurried off into the treatment room to get a gurney. "What happened?" she asked, taking the Squirtle from Jaeshan. "You're both freezing!"
"It was in the water," Jaeshan mumbled, his legs finally giving out on him, though Blaziken was right there to help steady her trainer. "Floating out there, all alone... I had to save it..." A wave of dizziness washed over him and he clung to Blaziken. The nurse motioned for the Blaze Pokemon to lead him over to one of the couches, and she did just that, forcing him to sit down. He shivered and pulled the blanket tighter around him. "I had to save it," he repeated quietly.
Moments later the Chansey returned with the stretcher and Joy gently placed the small Pokemon on it. "That was a very brave thing to do," she said, as she checked over the Squirtle's vitals. "But it was also very stupid. You could have drowned as well," she said, though her tone was far from harsh. Jaeshan could only look at the floor and shiver in reply, quite glad to have Blaziken at his side, for she was very warm. "He's very weak," the nurse said after a moment. "He must have been in the water for quite some time."
"Is he gonna be okay?" Jaeshan asked weakly.
"I'm not sure yet, but I will do everything I can. In the meantime, you should take care of yourself now," she told him somewhat sternly. She nodded to the Chansey and the two of them wheeled the gurney into the treatment room, leaving Jaeshan and Blaziken alone in the main lobby.
=-=-=-=-= A noticeable shiver passed through the Rattata's body as Growlithe's Leer did it's job, but the small mouse shook it off and once again took up an offensive position. "Not too shabby, Train," Callum called out, impressed with her handling of the Pokemon so far. "But keep in mind that since you're not Growlithe's original trainer, you're probably going to need to collect some more gym battles for him to fully obey you, especially as he grows stronger."
He looked back towards his own new Pokemon and nodded. "All right, time for Quick Attack! Make your movements erratic and hard to predict," he added, watching as the mouse darted forward. Though small it could cover a large area in a short time and soon Rattata was zipping forward only to quickly change direction and go off in a new one, aiming to try and confuse the Puppy Pokemon with it's speed before landing another solid attack (at least it hoped it would be).

Crenu walked a bit slowly, taking his time as he strolled around the city. He looked over his shoulder one last time just to make sure that it wasn't to good to be true, almost grinning a bit when he saw that Kenneth wasn't there. After declaring his intentions Crenu made a hasty retreat, leaving his highly irritating companion behind to finish his meal. He was almost certain that he'd have an arm aroudn his neck before he'd even leave the center but much to his surprise Ken appeared to stay behind. Maybe he finally decided to listen to Crenu and take a hike, after all he'd already said his hellos and even traded pokemon with him so he was sure to be satisfied. No...that's not it. He said he did have a purpose for finding me...and it sounds like bad news. He also said he'd gone home first so maybe...whatever. Not like I give a damn about anything that might have him all worked up. He's such a drama queen it's probably nothing at all. Crenu took the newest addition to his team and released him from his pokeball as he walked, the ball just barely bouncing back into his hand as the Pig Pokemon shuffling along with his fur lightly brushing the pavement as he kept up with his new trainer. Despite his small size and logically small legs he kept up pretty well, only trailing behind Crenu by a foot or two because of the way he sniffed the ground in front of him every few seconds. Even Crenu had to admit that it was kinda cute. "Your my pokemon now Swinub, and I'll tell you now that he and I are nothing alike. I'm not soft like he is, I won't baby you in the slightest. Got a problem with that?" Crenu said as he slowed down a bit and looked back at his Swinub that was still busy taking in the odors of the city, maybe he was smelling the water lines running under the city, though that was probably unlikely. Swinub just lifted his head a bit to look at Crenu with eyes almost hidden by hair, and went back to his business following a bit closer to his new trainer. Crenu just nodded and went back to looking for his destination, now this was a pokemon that was to his liking. For some reason Crenu felt inclined to let Snorunt out of her pokeball as well and did so, pausing for a moment to look at the two ice types interact. At first Snorunt didn't seem to notice, more preoccupied by the sights and sounds of Celadon and then looked up at her trainer in curiosity. Swinub on the other hand noticed the young snorunt right away, scurrying over to her quickly and smelling her as well. She smelled a bit of the tall blond trainer, and of cold fresh snow. Excited by the young ice type pokemon Swinub lightly nudged her, causing Snorunt a bit of alarm at first. She looked at the brown furry pokemon that was nudging her with its snout, but she soon felt the cold air he was breathing out and new he was friendly. A bit nervous at first she placed a hand on the Swinub's face, then hugged the brown pokemon delighted by his soft fur. Both pokemon appeared to laugh a bit as the played a bit with a game that could best be described as tackle the Swinub. Crenu watched and began to feel a smile tug at the corner of his mouth, there was just something about ice type pokemon that he liked, but as quickly as the smile started to appear it vanished with Crenu calling back both laughing pokemon and regaining his normal serious face. Close one.
-------------------------------------------
The gym wasn't hard to miss, it had the typical lettering that identified it as well as what looked like pedals of a Gloom on top. On the outside of the gym Crenu found an old man looking in, a bit grin on his face. Crenu said nothing, but simply tried to pass before the man spoke.
"He he he, there's nothing but girls in this gym. It's the greatest."
He knew he'd regret saying anything, but he did so almost on instinct. "Excuse me?"
"Oh, hey there young one. Guess you're not from around here. They only let women in there, so all the trainers and gardeners and what not are all women, young and cute too!"
Crenu looked at the man curiously, eyebrow raised, refusing to get any closer to the perverted old man."Is that so? Interesting."
The old man just chucked a bit and went back to looking in through the window. "That's right. Hey, you're going in there right? They'll probably kick you out since you're a guy. Maybe you should put on a dress and stuff you know? He he he."
"Heh, you must take me for a fool old man. What kind of a moron would try something like that? An official gym leader appointed by the Pokemon League wouldn't refuse a challenge over something as irrelevant as gender." He decided to forget the old man and continued through the front doors of the gym, it was much bigger than it appeared from the outside. The first thing he noticed was the strong aroma of all sorts of flowers and herbs coming from gardens all over the gym, which made sense considering this was a grass type gym. Not only that, but he'd also read somewhere that the Celadon gym made and sold various perfumes and even some medicines made from the plants they grew. The old man was right about one thing though, Crenu saw only females walking aroudn doing all sorts of things, a lot of them even appeared to be trainers. When one of them finally noticed Crenu and looked in his direction, calmly stated his business. "My name is Crenu, I've come to challenge Erika to a gym battle." Tch, dress indeed.
