Poe cocked his head to one side, the hat flopping strangely. She scampered over to Ike and sat between his legs.
Rabid gave a convulsive laughed, but covered her mouth quickly. At the sight of the foils, she was struck with the memory of Dei fighting the infant Ike with sticks.
Ike cried out happily, and began hurriedly costuming himself. Once finished, he grabbed the foil and pointed it at Reid, throwing his fre hand clumsily back.
What was it that Deimos had said? Oh!
"Engarde!"
Poe stood proudly on his back legs, facing the challenged child. Little One was going to fight Flashy Boy!

Reid had just put his hat on when he found the foil pointed at him. Grinning at the challenge and recognizing the weapon from watching his mother practice with a similar one once he grabbed at the second foil and gently tapped it with Ike's, throwing two of his own arms back.
"Engarde!" he returned.
Chao smiled and put her chin on her hands, hands itching to take a picture of the clumsy challenge but Rabid still had the camera.

Rabid had been shooting video since Ike's struggle with the costume, and now snapped a still photo and laughed.
"So...I believe we have one more costume for the boys to try on?" she struggled to keep a straight face, not fully knowing what to expect.
Ike tossed his foil a few inches into the air, with the intention of catching it. Instead, it fell to the ground, landing squarely on Poe's head.
"Uh-oh...sorry, Poe..."
Poe gave an aggrivated squawk and scampered off to hide in the aforementioned pink underwear.

"Poor Poe..." Reid said quietly with a shake of his head as leant against his foil for a moment.
"Ah yes! The grand finale!" Chao pulled out the last two costumes; a set of ballroom gowns, decked with frills and lace, one a dark wine color the other dark blue in Reid and Ike's sizes.

Ike's ears folded back and his eyes grew horribly wide. He approached Chao carefully, and felt the fabric of the red dress. He then looked up to her.
"Ike not putting that on," he said matter-of-factly.
Rabid immediately broke into insane, hysterical laugher.

That... was worse than the lightbulb. Reid didn't even dare approch his Mu or the costumes.
"Please guys? If you do... I promise we'll head to the music store and I'll buy you both the foils," Chao smiled, she had no problem bribing the boys into going along with the idea.

Ike cocked his head to one side, and then looked questioningly up to Mummy.
Rabid pointed to the foil on the ground and smiled lightly as she recovered.
A sudden, wide grin spread across the squirrel boy's face.
"Sure, why not? 's not like anybody gonna see. Ike not do it without Reid." He gave his best friend a long stare and a sad smile. He really wanted that foil...

Reid sighed, he couldn't say no to his best friend when he looked like that. And Ike was right, no one was going to see them, other than their Mus....
Something caught his eye and he looked back to his Mu, "Reid'll do it, bu' can Reid have that," he pointed to a longbow that someone seemed to have left behind in the changing room, "'stead of the foil?" He'd seen those on the teev but this one looked even more interesting and his Mu already had a foil he could play with so....
Chao looked over, smiled and nodded. "Sure Reid," she swished the dressed again.
Reid smiled, nodded and stepped forward, taking the blue dress and began to pull it on.

Ike happily retrieved the dress and had an awful time of shoving it over his tail. Once he finally had it on, though, he struck an elaborate feminine pose, batting his eyelashes strangely.
"I'm paying," Rabid said seriously before snapping a quick picture. Even she didn't want to make the poor boys stay in those dresses for any longer than they had to. To make her point final, she grabbed a foil, Poe, and the intricate Vavvian longbow before Chao could say anything.
Ike pulled the dress over his head, but quickly got stuck. Only the tips of his ears and his hands down to the wrists could be seen. His arms went limp and he turned toward Miss Chao...or where he though she was.
"Miss Chao?" he asked sweetly, before showing his panic, "HELP IKE, PLEASE!!!!"
Rabid walked quickly out into the store and to the man at the counter. She stared at him for a moment.
Everyone is Mei-Vaar was either horribly thin or quite overweight, and this man was a great example of the latter. His eyes, with the customary pupil-less coloured-in spiral of irises, were dull brown and watery, which matched his horribly greasy hair.
"Err...here," Rabid placed the, "12 Heldae."
The man behind the counter scoffed at her plain t-shirt and tight jeans, but accepted her money, handed her a bag, and sent her on her way, eyeing the little brown almost-purse curiously.

"Hey! No!" Chao shouted after Rabid, about to chase after her when she was distracted by two very stuck Mishaps.
"Not fair!" she called after Rabid, using the boys as a diversion, it had to be counted as cheating. Still, she wasn't going to leave them like that.
"Oh gods..." she rubbed her forehead as she looked at Reid's dress, which was merely squirming slightly as if it had been possessed as the Mishap fought to extract his wings and limbs from its hold and the Ike's dress, which also looked possessed.
Actually, the picture it presented was pretty amusing. With a laugh she trotted over and helped Ike escape the confines of the dress then went over to Reid and helped him out as well.
"There we go, everyone safe," she put the dresses back on their hangers, "no we must go hunt down Rabid and force money upon her, alright?"
Reid shook his head and finally pulled back on his normal shirt, glad to be out of the cave of clothing known as a dress and back into clothing that didn't make his wings hurt. Sweet freedom!
He tilted his head at his Mu and nodded slightly guessing that the statement was just Mu-speak for 'we need to find Ms Morb'd.'

"Too late," Rabid smiled mischievously to Chao as she sauntered out of the shop, Poe again in her shoulder bag. She slammed into a gothy Vavvian with orange-swirled red eyes, and quickly leaped back.
"Sorry, sorry!"
Said goth stuck his nose in the air and continued off. It took that long for Rabid to realize that the "goth" was actually some kind of red-and-black pirate of doom. Weird.
"Thank you, Miss Chao," Ike smiled and stretched, cracking his neck, "but why we need to give Mummy monies?"
"C'mon!" Rabid called after hearing the word 'monies', "So many shops, so little time!"

"You two don't, I do, you're mother's being silly and seems to think she can get away with not letting. You won't get away with it Rabid!" Chao shouted back and jogged to catch up with her.
Reid blinked at his Mu, shrugged and, after pulling on his pants, grabbed Ike's hand and jogged after their mother's.

Ike squeezed Reid's hand and sprinted...no...loped after their mothers. He was so confused...
"Your mu no like my mummy spendin' monies?"
"Yes I wiiiill!" Rabid said in a singsong voice, skipping down the row of shops, past numerous toy stores and fashion boutiques. She skidded to a halt just before an electronics shop, "Do you mind if we go in here? I'd like to finally get that computer..."

"I'unno," Reid panted, doing his best to keep up with the longer stride of his friend. After a minute it seemed hopeless and the firefly launched into the air, let go of Ike's hand and latched onto the taller Mishap's back, fluttering his wings so his full weight didn't settle on Ike. "Ike ki with Reid up 'ere?"
"Lies hun! Lies and deciet!" Chao called after, slowing only once they got close to the electronics store and peered inside, "only is Morbid let's Chao help her pay."

"Ike fine," Malachi smiled warmly and blushed a bit, grabbing onto Reid's arms.
"Sorry, m'lovely," Rabid smiled as she noticed a sign on the blank inner wall, "Foreign currency isn't accepted." She stepped into the near-empty room and up to the strange touchpad-on-a-stand in the far back.
She grabbed the nearby magnetic pen and began marking things off.
Laptop, she thought her order, printer, mp3 player...wait...make that three.
It was insanely fun to waste her money like this. She quickly entered in the addresses for delivery and held her hand out. A silvery mp3 player appeared in Rabid's hand, surrounded by a swirling light for a good long time. She pulled a few
Heldae from her bag and slipped them into a thin money slot.
She walked over to Reid and bent to his height, handing the mp3 player to him, "Here...for putting the costume on. Don't tell Mu, okay? She'd murder me."
