In the years that he was alone in the afterlife, Zack learned a lot of things that he didn't have enough time to learn when he was alive. He died young, but he had to keep on maturing and learn to understand others.
Zack started walking back down the hill, wanting to see if he can find the path back to the main garden. There was a river near by so he thought that maybe he and Cloud could walk alongside if before it got any later and the garden would be too dark to meander in. After a few minutes, Zack had barely realized he was still holding on Cloud's wrist and let go suddenly.
"Sorry, I didn't know I was still hanging on to you.." he admitted and chuckled.

Cloud watched the path Zack took, gazing at their surroundings. He was hardly aware that the other was still holding onto his wrist and quite faintly didn't mind when Zack realized it. "Ah... It's fine Zack... Really. I didn't even notice myself."
With a faint nod he looked up at the sky. It seemed they'd have about an hour or two to wander before it got dark and the landscape changed to its nighttime perspective.

Zack looked back at Cloud and nodded, slowing down the pace they were walking at so he can start enjoying the landscape as well. He did notice that it was getting pretty late, which means that soon enough he would have to part ways with Cloud.
"So.. where is it that you usually sleep, Cloud? I mean.. So I can walk you over there. I'm sure you've noticed it's gotten pretty late."

Cloud wished for Zack to not leave... He feared that all of this was some sort of dream and he didn't want it to end. He did his best to hide such feelings from the other as he gestured in one direction. "...I tend to sleep by the forest."
Liking the solitude he got there, Cloud chose that spot the first night he came to the Garden. Only a few other spirits were there and they all belonged to Acy - so it wasn't so bad. They mostly kept to themselves and it was a form of protection knowing that he wasn't completely alone.

Zack continued walking alongside his friend, looking at the river that was not too far from their path. He turned to Cloud and wonder how far the forest is from their current location.
"Is the forest far from here? I ask since we might need to take a head start or not." He nodded and smiled at his comrade. He noted that Seren picked a thorny rosebush of all places to stay with here own spirits, but she furnished it up and cleaned it out for her spirits to be comfortable in.
"I don't think the rose bushes are too far away from the forest, or at least the entrance of it..." Zack added. He too did not want to separate from Cloud. Even if he used the other as a pillow when they napped, at least they were together.

Cloud shook his head. "No, it's quite close, maybe a few minutes walking distance." The forest wasn't that of your average one, it was highly overgrown with flowers and various plants that twisted and shrouded the opening. It didn't really look much like the entrance to a forest... but it was.
That fact always interested him. It was almost as if it didn't belong, as if something purposely kept others out. And maybe that's why his guide was so fascinated with it as well.
"...Rose bushes? Ah... No... They aren't that far. Acy tends to go there quite often to see Seren. You've probably seen her a few times yourself."

A few minutes walking distance. Zack had to admit he was almost disappointed to hear that. If the forest were an hour or maybe forty five minutes away from where they were walking, that means he'd have plenty of time to be with Cloud. Although knowing that their homes are not that far only means there really is no reason for them to be together, unless Cloud would want to.
"Oh.. yes, now that I remember, Acy does visit Seren pretty often. They're just walking distances from each other." Zack nodded in agreement as he continued to walk with Cloud.
"So.. that means that we'll be walking distances from each other." Zack couldn't help but still be disappointed by that fact.

Sensing his friend's disappointment he looked down. "Hey Zack...? Maybe... We could make a small area for ourselves in between the forest and rose patch..." Cloud suggested.
He wouldn't mind that... In fact, he'd rather room with his friend once again. He missed Zack's crazy late night antics, his snoring and mumbling in his sleep. He missed it for years... Hell, he missed Zack all together - that was obvious. He didn't want to miss a chance to be by his side longer... if it was possible.

Zack looked over at Cloud and nodded. That didn't sound like a bad idea at all. It could.. sort of be like the old times when they shared rooms together. Zack slightly smiled to himself, thinking about all those times Cloud complained about his snoring. And his drooling. Mumbling and the various times he'd fall off the bed.
"You know.. that's a good idea, Cloud." He smiled back at his friend as they continued walking over to their destination. "We can spend out time fixing up our area since well, we fell asleep not too long ago back at that hill."

Cloud walked along side Zack, noting they were growing closer and closer with each passing minute. "Sure. That sounds fine... Do you want to get some of our stuff first...?" He guessed that much like himself, Zack had a few things he's collected since his arrival in the garden.
Cloud didn't have a lot but managed to find a few things by his grave from his previous life and kept them for memory's sake. He also was given a few things by his guide, but that was about it. It didn't matter to him though... he treasured what few objects he had. But now, he had something even more special to cherish, his friend.

"Hm? Oh yes. I really don't have much with me, but Seren gave me a neat bag to put stuff in." He nodded and smiled warmly at Cloud. It seemed like a lot of time has passed, when in reality, they've only spent an entire day here at the garden. Sure they've seen each other now and then, but it wasn't until now they really talked to each other.
"How about we find out spot first then we can start collecting out stuff and place it there?"

During the course of the day Cloud began to open up, learning to smile more freely in front of Zack. He was sure it was only due to the strong friendship he had with the other and the moment someone went to talk to him, he'd be distant as usual. But at least opening up to Zack was a step in the right direction... Right?
"Ah... Yeah. That sounds fine with me."

Zack looked at Cloud and nodded. He decided to go ahead and continue walking, already looking for a spot where they can set themselves up in. He noticed that in that short while since he's been with Cloud, he's has really opened up to Zack I suppose some friendly ear scratching lightened up the mood a bit. Zack thought to himself. A smile faintly tugged at his lips as he thought about all that's happened today; so lost in though, he didn't notice a rather large piece of rock that was in the way which soon sent him falling straight to the ground.
"W-whoa!" He exclaimed as he tripped on the stone, face soon planted on the ground. He didn't move or change his position much afterward; Zack just started laughing at his own misfortune, his tail waggling.

Cloud began to search with his eyes a spot as well, wondering what would suit both their needs. Soon his train of thought was derailed when he noticed out of the corner of his eye, Zack falling face first to the ground. By the time he realized the other had tripped, he was already on the floor, laughing. Staring down at the puppy, Cloud couldn't help but chuckle and knelt down to offer a hand. "...Need help?" He asked.

Tail still waggling about in amusement, Zack sat up and smiled at his friend. He went ahead and placed his hand on Cloud's, taking up on that offer of help, but he then stopped, taking a second to look around the place where he tripped. It was a rather nice area that was right in between the forest and the bushes. Zack liked it, and he wondered if Cloud would find this place suitable as well. Looking up at Cloud he smiled as he tilted his head slightly (face still full of dirt and grass, mind you) and asked his question.
"Hey Cloud? Do you think this is a good place to set up our stuff?"
