"You are so strange." she murmured. He was obviously older than her, and yet pups and a mate weren't important to him? When would it be then? Suddenly, the setting sun shone through the doorway, illuminating the alter and causing it to send rays of light all through the temple.

"We've established that," Garin said before he looked up at the ceiling. "So pretty!" he barked, his tail wagging as the light danced about the room. His eyes went wide and he sat up a moment.

She couldn't help but laugh at that, her eyes lighting up slightly. It was nice, to see someone appreciate this place as she did. "Isn't it? This territory is full of beautiful things... there is also a waterfall that I am fond of. I am thinking of bringing my Pack here." Her Pack... it was always on her mind, something she just couldn't let go of.

"Yeah yeah yeah, your pack, I got it," Garin grumbled. "You should show it to me first!" He nodded to her, his tongue lolling out of his mouth. "Oooh! Then we can go swimmin'!"

She looked over at him askance, then sighed. "We can go tomorrow, if my leg is up for the trip." she promised quietly. "In the afternoon, when it's a little hotter. That will make me want to swim even though it pains my leg."

He blinked, then laid back down on his blanket. "I didn't mean tomorrow. I meant whenever, silly," he said, nodding. "Sheesh... With your leg the way it is, I'm surprised you can walk at all!"

She growled at that, annoyed. "I'm not a weakling." she informed him. "Of course I can walk on it. It hurts, but that's fine. Pain makes you stronger." she nodded, then yawned, curling up into a tighter ball, though she was careful to keep her leg elevated, as he'd suggested. "And I need to be strong, so I'll work through the pain."

"You don't have to always," Garin said as he let out a yawn of his own, closing his eyes. "That's what I'm here for now." He nodded.

"Can't rely on you." she murmured, sounding young and vulnerable because she was so close to sleep. "You won't be here..." a yawn interrupted her, and then she continued. "Won't be her forever. I can only count on... on me..."

"Yes you can," Garin countered wisely. "For as long as you need to." he yawned again, then slowly, he drifted off to sleep.

She was asleep soon after, tired from her long day of hobbling about, and her dealings with this weird, yet somehow kind, Helix.
