The sound of a soft sliding door, coming to a halt resounded through the empty room, save for a small infant child. Hideki hovered out, his eyes flickered in and out of sanity and unconsciousness, and every time his head bobbed forward from going unconscious for a few seconds, his body would lower very, very slowly, before he'd come back and return to floating. Because the AGR system was run by taking in reishi and converting it to activate it's effects, him falling in and out of consciousness simply effect the Mechanical Efficiency of the motor. He used soft bursts of reiatsu, of minimal amount, to push himself forward. It was an odd sight to see, if one ever did. It would seem as though Hideki were a boneless puppet, hovering in the air in a psycho fashion, as his head bobbed frequently.

He moved over to where Elisia had set Yuki. So young she had become. It was odd to see. She must have used so much of her power through her raw emotion if it did this, though this was a rhetorical statement, he already experienced what happened and knew quite well how facetious he was being by saying it, even though it was in his head. He hovered over her, feeling the only empathy he'd ever felt in his life. He could only imagine the physical and mental pain she was going through. He was observant enough, through the little encounters he had with her, that she and Hei were more than simply Brother and Sister. They were each other's lives and loves. Hideki let a soft tear drop fall on the bed sheets. "Kuso....Kuso....KUSO!" He cursed softly but loudly enough to hear himself aloud. He hated that Hei was dead and that Yuki was now, in a sense, comatose. He moved the blankets to be sure they were over her and she was comfortable, an act of respect and help, before he turned in place and traveled via Shunpo to leave the room.

Standing in the hallway, Hideki looked down to Elisia's office and heard mutterings but let them be. His brain was starting to fail, and he needed to return to the labs to repair himself in a stasis before he couldn't execute any commands at all, seeing as though his hands were now completely out of commission from doing anything as large as typing. Only simple tasks such as grabbing was capable. So, if he couldn't talk, he couldn't shout the commands into the lab system to begin the process.

Hideki, upon ending his glance to Elisia's office, pushed his foot down, making him bob, and then was gone with a strange shunpo that caused him to flicker out slowly, but move instantaneously over long distances. He was going to the labs.

Eyes fluttering open, Yuki took the seconds of unconscious thinking to bask in the feeling of having slept. She hadn't been struck or anything so her body was physically sound, though significantly younger, so she felt great for that short period of time. Seconds passed and reality hit her like a ton of bricks as her mind woke up with the rest of her. Hei was dead. Hei... Hei, her dear younger brother and the apple of her eye. Images of him flashed through her mind, as her own body remembered his touch, or the feel of his skin on hers and how it felt to grip his muscular form tightly against her body. He was a beautiful man, both very strong minded and able-bodied and very brave, but also incredibly sensitive and caring, almost like he knew exactly how to treat a female. It was not something one learned from a book, he was naturally this way, and she could ask for nothing more.

It was he who had helped create their beautiful daughter. It was he who had saved her from over-powering grief by bringing her little girl back to her, and it was he who underwent painful, discomforting surgeries all for the sake of taking her mind off the fact that she was unable to age. He was incredibly selfless, she had watched him tirelessly raise the younger generation of Shinigami to their limits, all without reason. If only he had learned not to hide this, it might make people like him more. But that was who he was, and she decided centruies ago that she was no longer going to try and change how he acted around others. It was even hard to bear the non-physical aspect of their relationship. The way he made her laugh without even telling a joke, his dashing smile that she wished he had shown more often, his undying love for her. How he always knew when something was wrong and how he knew exactly how to fix her distress. Such a flawless man, to her, he was so perfect in every way. But how could he fix her now?

The idea of him dying seemed so far from reality that the gravity of the truth was that much harder to bear. Though she had woken with him in this very bed naught but hours before, it all seemed like a distant memory. Yuki reached under her pillow and produced a clear tube of colored pills. Unplugging it, she consumed a single pill. There was a puff of smoke and she was her regular age once more. The only problem was that this was no more than a temporary fix and even if she were to eat until she regained her Captain-Level Reiryoku, she still couldn't use it or she would revert to an embryo after using Bankai once. even now her Zanpakutō was leeching energy from her to stay unsealed, and sealing it was not an option as the rebound would tear her body apart. For now, all she could do was leave her Reiryoku to cycle without interrupting it. Her Zanpakutō would continue to take Reiryoku, which would normally de-age her, but the other property of stopping the passage of time's effect on her age countered that, leaving her eternally three years old. Little known to the others, Yuki relied heavily on Hei to even be a part of the Gotei. Knowing she was fully tapped out, Yuki decided within minutes that she was no longer suited to be a Captain; she would resign from her position within several days after she had the chance to set up everything for Elisia to take over. Returning to her adoptive mother and father seemed like the best course of action, as she had no other place that she was needed. The barracks were full enough, and she couldn't in good conscience occupy this room any longer with the knowledge that she didn't have the power to classify her as a graduate student. Sliding the back of her left hand over her face, she let loose a stream of tears, though no sound came from her. She just stared at the ceiling, silently mourning her brother's death. The note left by her future successor went unnoticed, as Yuki had neither the ambition nor the need to rise from her bed.

Unable to face any other being, Tsukiko chose to appear just outside Yuki's broken wall instead of traipsing through the halls of the 4th Division. She could see her mother on the inside, lying there, crying, and it pained her to see it. A Kyōmon stood between her and the inside of Yuki's room, her mother's doing, no doubt. Wiping a tear from her cheek, she flicked her hand and began warping space-time inside the barrier, utterly destroying it by inserting a small black-hole inits center. It only existed for a tiny fraction of a second, but that was sufficient enough to cause the barrier to shatter into thousands of pieces and fade away into nothing. Once the Kidō was no more, Tsukiko used a Shunpo to appear at her mother's bedside, easing Hei's lifeless body onto the bed at her feet. Tsukiko moved a hand to her shoulder and slid onto her knees so that he chest was pressed up against the side of the bed.

Though still visibly shaken, Tsukiko managaed to spit out a few words for her mother. "When... is daddy coming back?" She asked, her lower lip trembling. Still ever present were her delusions that things were going to magically get better, it was the depressing truth that would not go away, no matter how hard she tried to be logical and calculating. She found herself wishing she was never given a soul, it had become a burden giving her emotions and a bunch of other useless s**t. She had lashed out physically to her friends and all because of some stupid thing she felt (at the moment) that she was never meant to have in the first place. She was a machine now, not a human. why couldn't she have just been made all machine? Why couldn't her gravity powers have been engineered scientifically? They'd already generated a miniature black-hole in the labs once, who's to say all of her abilities couldn't have come from science?

Yuki blinked as her Kyomon shattered and she turned to look at Tsukiko as she put Hei down. As she grabbed her shoulder and asked about her father coming back, Yuki understood exactly how bad Tsukiko had it. While Yuki was overcome with grief, Tsukiko was still in denial that Hei was dead. Lifting herself up and taking a seating position, Yuki pulled Tsukiko's face into her hands and slid them behind her head, then pulled her into her bosom. "Tsukiko dear... He's gone. He's gone and he's not coming back. I'm so sorry. I'm so very sorry baby. But he's gone for good. I know it hurts, believe me, I know. I don't want to believe it either, but it's the truth. Carting him around is not going to make anything better, you were rough with him weren't you? My little girl... You have to be more careful... I'm not asking you to do it right now, I don't think even I can manage that, but... let him go. He's gone. He wouldn't have wanted either of us to suffer on his behalf." Yuki used her sheet to wipe her tears away, coming to the realization that the should no longer mope. her own words to Tsukiko had shown her this. "I'm still here, Tsuki.... I'm still here..." With a deep sigh, Yuki, released her little girl, brushed their hair from Tsukiko's face and kissed her on the forehead. "It's going to be alright..."

"Telling me to go. But hands beg me to stay. Your lips say that you love. Your eyes say that you hate. There's truth in your lies. Doubt in your faith. What you build you lay to waste. There's truth in your lies. Doubt in your faith. All I've got's what you didn't take. So I, I won't be the one. Be the one to leave this. In pieces. And you, you will be alone. Alone with all your secrets. And regrets, don't lie. You promised me the sky. Then tossed me like a stone. You wrap me in your arms. And chill me to the bone. There's truth in your lies. Doubt in your faith. All I've got's what you didn't take."

Lee had decided to slow down upon his approach just in case Tsukiko had arrived before him, to give Yuki and Tsukiko time together. Coming out of shunpo at a distance he spotted Yuki and Tsukiko through the hole embracing each other as Yuki was obviously attempting to console her daughter. Yuki was back to her usual self having obviously got the problem with her aging fixed, or at the very least prolonged for the time being.
'Well I suppose I should leave them alone. Tsukiko has obviously found the person she needs right now to help her get over it. Be well. Both of you.' Turning around without another glance he walked a little ways away behind a building and slid down the wall, resting his arms on his knees, and looking up at the sky. He needed a little more time to think before heading back to his own Division and dealing with what was more than likely awaiting him there. Everyone was safe so there was no need to protect anyone. Lee had some time to himself and he could use the time just observing the sky in silence.

It was something he had always did with his mother when he was younger. Just lay back and watch the sky whether at night or during the day. It was a peaceful thing that helped him relax and also reminded Lee of the fond memories he had. Funny how seeing the death of someone you disliked could bring up long suppressed emotions. Memories of simpler times flashed through his mind as Lee sat there the sadness clear on his face. Death was a funny thing. It made people afraid and sad, yet at the same time could make a person happy. Still Lee had not been good with emotions for quite some time now and as such usually didn't do well with that sort of thing. Sadness was one thing he could relate to however and as such the easiest emotion he found to express, not that he expressed it much either. Letting out a sigh Lee decided silently to remain nearby for the time being just in case something happened. Closing his eyes Lee leaned his head back against the building and waited. After some time passed and he knew everything would be alright he would return to his Division. Till then Lee was content sitting in his current location in silence.

Tsukiko fell silent as Yuki took her head, and her eyes went wide as she was pulled into her mother's bosom. A chemical reaction took place and her face flushed, turning a bright red; Yuki might have been her mom, but this situation was embarrassing, mostly because Lee was now lingering around outside. As Yuki spoke, she knew what she was saying was true and hearing it from her own mother made it a little easier to bear. Still, reality struck her where it hurt most and she burst out crying after her mother's lips met her head. Her fingers clutched the bed sheets and she buried her face in her lap. "It's just not fair! "I just don't understand how he could die... He was... the most powerful man ever." By this point, her reticular cleansing fluid had run out, thus she could no longer produce tears. Sinking to the floor, Tsukiko stared blankly at the bed's side.

Eriko reappeared fully some minutes later to the right of the building that housed the Captain's Quarters for the Fourth Division. Voices could be heard through the gaping hole in the wall. It sounded like Yuki and Tsukiko but their words were not close enough for her to hear them. Besides, it was not her business what they said to each other at this point. The girl reminded herself that Hei was dead and that this was a grieving period for those who were closest to him, namely the couple of women up there. Eriko said a quiet prayer in her heart for them and set her eyes on the real reason that she had traveled this way: Masashi-Taicho. He was simply there, looking at the sky but with an actual emotion etched across his features and that was sadness. If he had looked any other way, she would have proceeded to execute her plan of informing him about her decision but it would be too insensitive in this case. The Sanseki stepped toward him slowly and sat down, leaving a space of a foot or two between them. She did not say anything. Her presence probably did not register as yet or if it did, he mght prefer to ignore it for now. So, out of an odd mix of apprehension and respect, Eriko sat crosslegged next to her Taicho but decided not to say anything unless he spoke to her first.

Yuki frowned as Tsukiko commented on her brother's unnaturally high-level of power. "From mother to daughter, or even colleague to colleague, I think everyone is thinking the exact same thing as you, dear. You'd certainly think he was broken character with infinite cheats. One has to wonder if he already had this planned out." It dawned on Yuki suddenly that maybe he had actually planned it. Could he have also planned a resurrection just the same? No... They didn't know anyone that could revive a dead man. Or was it the cycle of souls... Was he to be reborn in the Human World and come back to them in several years to come? Maybe. No. She shook her head vigorously back and forth. That was all just wishful thinking; Hei was dead and he wasn't coming back. Even she didn't think he had the ability to plan something this elaborate. It was death, they were talking about after all. Yuki leaned forward and slid her right foot onto the ground in front of her bed and ruffled her daughter's hair. "I suppose... that the next course of action is his funeral." She was prepared to raise her hand to snap her fingers when a flash of black streaked across the bedroom, heralding the arrival of six fourth Division attendants of the lower echeleon all on their left knee and the knuckles of their left on the floor while their right hand rested on their other knee. They bowed their heads in respect, keeping their eyes closed, yer their expression were peaceful as if to be called on were a once-in-lifetime experience. "Ah, so you were watching. Very well, take Hakase-Taichou to the morgue and begin perpetration for the funeral of Hakase Hei." Her commands were met by a unified "Hai, Yuki-sama." just before they gathered the body and disappeared into the night with him. Yuki, turning to Lee's direction, adjusted her overly large shirt and rubbed the back of her head. "Need something?" She asked, hopping outside through the hole in her wall and slowly approaching them. By this point, she was doing her best to comps herself so that she could operate on a more serious level.

Lee could make out distant voices though not what they were saying and knew they were from Yuki and Tsukiko though they weren't necessarily angry. Tsukiko had obviously calmed down thanks to Yuki something Lee didn't need to actually hear what was being said to know. Relief was clear in his face as Lee sat there before he slowly faded into his memories for the time being reminiscing.

A shop entered into his vision as Lee stood there still a child with a few other children by him laughing as a boy was pushed down. Something was said that he didn't quite catch as he turned to the main bully. The bully continued laughing as he walked off followed by the other children as Lee bent down and helped the kid up.
"Sorry about that. My name is Lee what is yours?" The other kid said nothing and pointed to his throat in an obvious reference to being mute. "Can't ya talk?" The boy shook his head no. "What's wrong with ya?" The boy just shrugged causing Lee to get a confused look. "Oh well come on let's go play my Mom is kind of sick though so be quiet okay?" With that the shops vanished to be replaced by the inside of a house as a slightly older Lee looked down at his bedridden mother. "Don't worry Mom so guy in black clothes found me today and said that I had a higher than normal spiritual energy. I guess I am going to the academy or something like that. Hang in there and I will get you the medical attention you deserve okay?" Again the house vanished to the inside of the Academy with a messenger handing Lee a letter. Accepting it and reading it his face quickly became quite sad as a few tears rolled down his cheeks.

"Mom..." Lee was unaware that the last word had been whispered before a voice broke through his thoughts. "Need something?" Lee's eyes shot open immediately as the familiar scene of Soul Society flooded into his vision as did Yuki and Eriko who was sitting beside him. Collecting his thoughts quickly Lee cleared his throat standing up and dusting his uniform off. "No I was just making sure Tsukiko-san was alright. She was pretty upset back at the labs. I can see you have everything under control though. Unless you needed something? Sorry for...well you know..." Turning to Eriko Lee cleared his throat again the usual neutral expression back on his face by now. "Need something Eriko-san?" Lee was curious how long both of them had been around before anything was said too lost in his own thoughts and memories to have noticed. Something that was not a comforting thought. That was not the way he wished to be found...

Akiyama Eriko, Gobantai Sanseki

"Freedom comes at the cost of your fearful ways. Pay it."

Eriko had been fiddling her thumbs idlely while taking brief glances at her Taicho to see of he was sleeping or if anything was the matter. Fortunately, he appeared to have zoned out for a while and she took it as more of a hint that she should be quiet for a little while longer. The scrapes on her arm were not bothering her and the silence was surprisingly endearing. It had become so comforting that the girl began to drift into sleep only to be jerked away by the sudden sound voice of Yuki's voice. She would have attempted to respond to her as well except that a now alert Masashi-Taicho beat her to it. Eriko stood all the same and nodded respectively to the Fourth Division Captain. Lee's utterances made her wonder if he really was okay but some of those doubts were eased when he turned to face her. In reality, it was a simple question but she found herself gaping for a second at him with a momentary loss for words.

"Uh, no sir," she responded quickly as soon as her voice came back to her, "I don't need anything. I just wanted to tell you that, that I...I want to be your...Lieutenant." That came out wrong. She groaned and started to panic openly but shook herself to try it again in a more calm and fluent manner of speech. "Masashi-Taicho, I have accepted your offer to be the Lieutenant for the Gobantai Division. That's what I wanted to tell you, sir." With a final gulp, she reverted her eyes to the Yonbantai Taicho. He made her too nervous or more than she already was.

"She'll pull through. No need to worry." Yuki shifted in place, gravel crunching beneath her bare feet. She kept one hand on her shirt, holding it down lest some rogue gust of wind come by and reveal the fact that she was in fact wearing nothing but that shirt. "Well, as long as both of you are here, I guess I'll tell you that his funeral will take place in a week from today." Finding nothing else to comment on, Yuki turned away and began to walk back towards her room, stepping gingerly through the large garden she maintained herself in her spare time. Rather than go through the window, she opted for going around the front of the building so that she wouldn't flash her colleagues while trying to climb into the window. Once back in her room, Yuki would stare vacantly at the wall as she dressed herself in the bathroom. A few moments later she would send out an order to have her room fixed before she vacated it.

Tsukiko moved the ends of her sleeves to her face and rubbed her face with them madly as the six Shinigami took her father away from her. "I guess..." With a downcast stare, Tsukiko rose to her feet, swaying slightly as she was still pretty shaken to the core. Once her mother had returned, her face went bright red as she stripped her shirt from her body and went into the bathroom. Fidgeting, she turned away embarrassed. Once Yuki was done, Tsukiko slipped past her, turned, and suddenly hugged her from behind, gripping her mother around the waist tightly. An explanation was long overdue, the time felt right now. "I figured it out a long time ago. It wasn't so hard, once I compared our personalities and breaking into old files helped a lot too. But... I think I always knew. Did you think this body was the by product of my imagination? I tried to make it closest to what I'd actually look like had I not died. It's my understanding that I was not told this because its taboo for siblings to create a child and that I shouldn't be burdened by such knowledge. But... You love daddy and daddy loves you and that love made something special... so why should it matter what some one else says? How could I possibly be bothered by the fact that my mother and father have an unbreakable bond and share an undying love that I've never before witnessed between two people? If anyone has a problem with the love you share with daddy, why would they mean anything to you in the first place?"

Releasing Yuki, Tsukiko nudged the floor with her toe and turned away to move into the bathroom, carefully stripping her gloves off and removing her choker, just before drawing a bath. "I'm mad at both of you for keeping such a secret from me, or at least I was. I was probably furious right when it hit me, you know... right when reality became the most apparent; the reality that such a huge secret was being kept from me by my very own parents. Of course, I kept it to myself under the impression that if I let on that I knew, that I'd be letting go of some kind of childish leverage that I may later use one day. But over time I began to see more and more of you two being together; yes I have seen it, you can't keep much from me since I can wirelessly tap into any camera in the Seireitei. I guess that... after seeing the love you two share and daddy's overwhelming desire to protect both of us from any kind of harm, the anger just faded away. Then of course, when I fully realized the extent of my being, that after I died, daddy painstakingly worked on a fix. When I fully realized the cost of keeping my soul bound to this world must have been huge, I could imagine the sheer magical stress it put on his body just for keeping a soul bound to this place and stop it from being reborn. When I learned of how much you suffered because I was gone..."

Tsukiko paused for a moment to strip down to her underwear and began inspecting herself in the mirror for any tears in her skin. "When I realized all of this... how could I possibly stay mad? Both of you loved me so much to lie to me because it was in my best interests. You were right, how could you possibly take a chance? What if I had grown to resent you for pursuing a taboo relationship and I ended up considering myself as some kind of freakshow? That would have been awful... I think. Not that it matters. Ha. Just look at me, I'm a machine... But that's a story for another day. So eventually I came to agree with your decision. I got over it about a year and a half ago, roughly. As to why I kept it to myself, well more than likely I figured it was best not to worry you about it. Well, things got out of hand, it seems as I slipped up and let it out the other day." Now down to nothing on her body, Tsukiko looked to her mother with slate grey eyes and smiled. "Thank you, my mother, for taking care of me." With this, she shut the door, and eased herself into the bath after sealing the port on her neck, busying herself with cleaning the dirt from her body that she had obtained from the human world. She had to scrub hard, and soon noticed that parts of her skin had been burnt by the lightning storm. The damage was irreversible; she'd have to refit her own body with a new skin. The process would take at least a week probably longer; it seemed as though she would be attending a funeral looking like a doll. Inwardly she sighed, slightly depressed at the thought.

Lee raised an eyebrow as Eriko spoke up saying she didn't need anything causing to turn towards Yuki until she continued. Turning back towards Eriko Lee listened to her finish her sentence his eyebrow once again raised at what she had said and the way it was worded.
"Okay.." Then came the groan and open panicking which meant that had not been the way she meant to say it. When she spoke up again Lee listened to all that was said as a much more formal acceptance was spoken causing Lee to give her a nod. "Alright." Turning to gaze at Yuki Lee nodded in agreement about Tsukiko still feeling slightly sorry for the girl after everything even though in all honesty she had never been real nice towards him. Not that she had been particularly mean either. Lee's less than friendly attitude towards her father was likely a cause for this though so Lee ignored it usually. Then came Yuki's next statement about Hei's funeral being in a week causing Lee to sigh and close his eyes. "Okay." Opening them back up in time to see Yuki make her exit Lee turned back to Eriko. "Okay Eriko-fukutaicho let us go do all the paperwork to make your promotion official. Sometime soon we can start working towards getting you more up to par with other Fukutaicho." Without another word Lee turned away and began walking away expecting Eriko to follow him.

Akiyama Eriko, Gobantai Fukutaicho

"Freedom comes at the cost of your fearful ways. Pay it."

Eriko eyed Hakase-Taicho's deliberate departure from them but was distracted from the woman by Lee's use of her new title. It sounded weird to her ears. She nodded in response to him. She hated the idea of paperwork even if it was necessary for her new position. However, the notion of working on becoming on par with the other current Lieutenants had its appeal. The younger female dusted her clothes and took up step after her Taicho as he began walking away from her. Hopefully, she had really made the better decision of the two.
