To the Goddess I give my heart

This is my Altar. Its inside a cabinet type thing. I have a fan for wind a pentagram on my bracelet for earth(also has a lot of amethyst) a goblet with water for water a candle for fire and a rose and bird feather for spirit ♥ I don't have a lot but I am using what I have..... smile and of course I have a pentagram picture with the elements (even if you can't make them out)

I have just constructed my altar over the past weekend. I'm very proud of it.

White candle & reed diffuser represent air. Green candle && crystals around it represent earth Blue candle && heart container next to it filled with water represent water Red candle && red string represent fire Angel represents the Goddess (it was given to me after my Oma died)
I have yet to find something to represent the God, but I will keep searching.

Wow I just looked through everyone's altars and I think they're all beautiful and wonderful. Really personal too. Mine has been de-constructed as of late so I'll have to clean my room and get back to it.
Does anyone have an idea of how to get a cauldron in Australia other than over the internet? I've been trying to find one but the best I can do is a mortar and pestle, which I don't think is the same.

for a cauldron (snice i dont use it to heat anything up, just for mixing herbs ect) i have a small plastic salsa bowl that i got from the dollar store it looks EXACTLY like a mini plastic cauldron if you dont have what you need you can always use something else like a really nice bowl for a cauldron unless you plan on heating anything up a normal cooking pot is fine just bless/purify it befour using ^-^
i dont have a mortar and pestle but i plan on getting one one day for now i just use a bowl and a large spoon even if its a little harder it still gets the job done ^-^

Tifey_Lewis Is it necessary for the altar to face the position where the sun rises by morning? I was told it should... Is it relevant? Why should it? No, not really. If you want it that way because it makes sense to you, you should. My altar is deconstructed since I'm not in my dorm room for break. When I get back, though, I'll have to build it up again. I have two beautiful metal statues, one of what I think of as my inner self, and another of a dragon and mage. I also have a ceramic Goddess figure that is the bottom of her breasts to the tops of her knees. To match/counteract this I want to get a glass d***o that stands up on its own. I've been hunting around the internet for one but not finding anything I particularly like. I like everyone's altars, they are beautiful!!

so im working on setting up my alter. like a few other people here i am currently living at home with parents that are very christan and would do who knows what if they found out i follow this path. now i have a question that may seem dumb, but in my searching and studying ive heard different things. but which direction is for which element? and is the Goddess to the right or to the left? ive heard so many different things im not sure which is right. sorry if this is a dumb question. but id like to know what you guys have to say about this. Thank you ^^

To Vix,
I've learned that the directions and elements are as follows; East - Wind South - Fire West - Water North - Earth
As for the goddess, I don't really know. I haven't really looking into the god and goddess much yet. I haven't even found things to represent them!
To Flying,
Hmm sounds like a good idea for now. When I was younger (11) I had a witches birthday and my mum gave me a huge plastic bucket which she painted to be a cauldron but I think I'll use something a little smaller. I like the idea of a cooking pot, but I might just go for a bowl (Who knows, I might make it myself (from wood of a dead tree).

Sometimes you can't always go off what books say anyway, you have to find your own experiences, you know? Though they can be a good guide as long as you aren't in a situation where they all disagree with each other (like now, for instance) but if this doesn't feel right with you, you can change the directions if you want. It's your path right? Anyway, I really just wanted to post you're welcome. Sorry I babbled.

on making an alter, do you need to make multiply alters or just one?
for example if your ( reading too many books at once and get sidtracked like someone i know*cough cough*)) on nocturnal magic, then reading on angel magic, would you use different alter completely, have a different set up of items...or would you just use everything to the athame, elements candles ect for rituals?
