ENTRY 2 - July Showers 
It's been raining a lot lately and this picture is sort of a cheer up message because rain can get people down but it allows flowers to grow. So after the latest rain storm I went out and found a pretty little flower and took a picture of it.
The title "July Showers" is a sort of play on the saying "April showers bring May flowers" because no matter what time of year rain brings flowers :3
I adjusted brightness and contrast a little to emphasise the idea of brightness through the rain but other than that left it alone.

entry I - "Skyward"
This was taken directly from my DeviantArt account.
I simply added this into the contest to display the beauty and magnificence of large structural masterpieces and their ascents into the heavens. Ever since I was a small child, I loved going to the city to gaze up at large buildings and my wonders never ceased of the motivation it took to construct them. Now, I always look up to them and think of what I used to. I did not add any colour effects or large image manipulation except for the fact I cropped it from original dimensions 5500x6500 to 600×1727.

entry II - "Japanese Maple"
When my father planted these, 14 years ago, I always wondered what made these plants and how. They seemed kind of funny at first. Strange thin leaves, bushy but seeming to lack leaves. As I soon progressed through maturity, I found out that their pristine beauty can prevail through even cloudy days (which is why I took this picture, of course wink ). It always makes me think of how beautiful they always are. Whether it be snow, rain, clouds, or a storm, and when you stare into them, the world seems to fade away through all their intricate branches.
I added a slight glow to maximize the colours, and allow them to 'pop out at you' more.

entry III - "Metropolis"
Once again, with the city as a whole, you need to appreciate that you have so many things in the world: bankers, food offices, lawyers, teachers, designers, accountants; they all help a society learn and grow.
I liked this one because I think it displays an image of size. This was not even the whole city of Atlanta. A simple region called Buckhead. The parts of a city. The clouds and overcast, the cars and hustle and bustle, the large buildings and their shadows and reflections. All of those are qualities of a city.
I did not edit any of this except for resizing from the original pixels of h1160x4096w

I think i would count this as Number One?  Remember when alcohol (and or drugs) wasn't everything? and friendships lasted forever? This is a picture from about two years ago, going down a not so never ending tunnel. T^T Adventures was the only thing on our minds. We would travel through city after city in search for the spiffiest of spots around. Almost every one in the picture is gone now. I'm not old enough to say growing up is terrible, but so far the effects of it have been nothing but misery. Friends Forever? (Im 17 ... so yeah im old/young? and im not emo so dont take this as like god what an attention seeking emo f**) <3 byebye

Numba 2  Cats... need to say more? Sure I do. ^_^ they are the greatest cuddle buddies ever. and they are probably the cutest. Sadly this isn't my cat ... my mother hates them, but i don't blame her.. they despise her. ^_^ hahaha Well its my friends cat and its name is Pepep one of the greatest cats ever. There is this one named Oreo that actually talks to you... well tries to .. same thing right?

The message? Probably that some plain photos can look the best. [But thats just me ^ ^]
I took the picture this way to get a side view of the bench.
Well, I just made the photo black and white to make it seem, I guess, fancy? Lol. And I accidentally used macro, but I think it looks fine.

 A bigger veriosn can be found Flickr photosI took it during my flight to Crete. Changed levels and saturation a bit. Main focus? Ekhm... those islands? I thought they looked great when I was flying in the clouds.

Note: If you happen to find this picture on dA (specifically under the username asutjipto) it is mine. You can always trust that these pictures are mind b/c I always put a watermark on them. Just in case.This picture is an original black&white photograph, taken with an analog/film camera. Printed at F11 for 5 seconds -- with no burning or dodging. I was walking around my neighborhood and saw that old houses were torn down and new condos were constructed in its place. A lot of people were against the new construction, claiming that the neighborhood would lose a lot of its personality. Nevertheless, the constructions continued. I decided to use selective focus with my camera -- as you can see, the inside of the construction is crispy and sharp, while the outside (the wall) is blurred. The hole in the middle of the picture represents the gap in the community -- its suburban personality has been taken away because of the construction of condos.
